Thanks, I could reproduce the saving slowness.

Over 1 minute in 5.4.
About 8 seconds in 5.0.2

I guess by "lost data" you mean the hiding of the rows. In the "Time spent
reading" sheet, I was able to "Show Rows" by right-clicking the row section in
the left. However, in the "Date finished of each group" and "Fill in white
cells" "Show Rows" was not offered in the context menu. With "Notes" and
"Noble, is daily desire to grow thereby" I had to use "Show Rows", "Show
columns" multiple times to show them.

I will create a new report for this problem.

If you don't have to interact with Microsoft Office, I recommend using the
native .ods format instead of .xls.

I can't drag images from my gallery created folders/images in Draw or Write.

The application locks up and can only be "killed" through Task Manager. All
previous versions worked just fine. I have only ever faced this problem now
with 5.3. Nor can I create a new theme.

Please fix this issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105847] New: SUMIF function gives unexpected / wrong results with custom ranges

2017-02-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105847

Bug ID: 105847
Summary: SUMIF function gives unexpected / wrong results with
custom ranges
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@member.fsf.org

Description:
Using the SUMIF() function with a "range" and a "sum_range" that do not use the
same row coordinates can give unexpected / erroneous results.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a spreadsheet
2. Create a column with values for the test in SUMIF()
3. Create a column with values that will be summed by SUMIF(), i.e. the
sum_range
4. Create a formula using SUMIF(), in which the test range and the sum range
use different row coordinates (for example, whole column A:A for test range,
and partial column B2:B5 for sum range)

Actual Results:
In most cases, the result given will be unexpected / incorrect. No error is
returned.

Interesting exception where results are right: when the test range is the only
one that is restricted, and starts at the first row. (See rows 4 and 9 in
attached document.)

Expected Results:
- The function should perform the calculation on a restricted range (for
example, restrict the test range A:A to A2:A5 if the sum range is B2:B5, or
restrict the sum range B:B to B4:B10 if the test range is A4:A10).

OR

- Return an error code if this is not the expected usage of the function.

See in attached document several examples, and a comparison with how the
related function SUMIFS() behaves for the same conditions (an error code 502 is
returned if the ranges don't match).

Not sure if the severity should stay at "Major" or should be changed to
"Critical" as it can result silently result in erroneous calculations.

Testing on different versions (5.3 branch especially) and on other spreadsheet
software would be appreciated.

I have updated to LibreOffice 5.3.0.3.
FILESAVE gradient feature in .odp format: Any and all gradients return Black to
white when reopened in the native .odp format. Hatching remains consistently
correct. MASTER SLIDE settings for both checks remains at "default"

If saved in .pptx - the slide returns with background changed to "none" This is
also true in .pptx when the "hatching" setting is used. MASTER SLIDE setting
returns as "Blank Slide."

If saved as .ppt with a yellow to red gradient saved it returns yello to red to
yellow -- the Formatting Area shows the gradient selection as reversed from
what was actually saved. "Gradient" style returns as "Bitmap." MASTER SLIDE
settings remain at "Default"

I think there is not a bug.

How you are searching? with [Ctrl+F], you need to use [Ctrl+H] to setting up
the search properly.

Search for 'hall' with regular options enable,
Find: \bhall\b
so you can find all words 'hall'
Maybe what is happening for you, is you are searching for 'hall' with Entire
Cells enable, so only cells with only this word are found.

Resolved as not a bug, please if you are not agree reopen it.

You can test this in the attached database, form Test. That also display the
corrupted check box problem in 5.3.0.3.

I have other problems with this release as well, including a database that
won't load at all under Windows 10 (just crashes out), and one that will load
on ubuntu but refuses to show re-populated list boxes when the contents are set
by macros (the data is there, it just doesn't display until I type a letter),
but I haven't got these into manageable reproducible form as yet (they work on
a remote database that I don't want to distribute). I'm trying.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105844] New: FILESAVE: Very slow saving compared to 5.2.5

2017-02-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105844

Bug ID: 105844
Summary: FILESAVE: Very slow saving compared to 5.2.5
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jhertel+bugs.documentfoundation@gmail.com

Description:
After updating from 5.2.5.1 to 5.3.0.3, saving became much, much slower.

So slow that I had to downgrade to 5.2.5.1 again, which solved the problem.

In 5.2.5.1, saving is almost instantaneous, i.e. a few hundred milliseconds
(the document is small, 20 KB, 7 pages, 1716 characters). In 5.3.0.3, saving
takes several seconds, around 5 to 7 seconds before you can actually type
again. And as I save frequently while typing (often after each sentence), this
stops me in my writing.

My computer is a relatively fast i5, with 8 GB RAM and a fast SSD, so the
computer or drive is not the culprit. This is also indicated by the fact that
downgrading to 5.2.5.1 solved the problem.

The document is password protected, if that matters.

The problem is so annoying that I had to downgrade to 5.2.5 and will have to
stay at that version until the bug has been solved.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the document.
2. Save it (press Ctrl+S).

Actual Results:
It takes several seconds before I can type again. Around 5-7 seconds.

Expected Results:
Saving should be almost instantaneous, 2-300 ms.

Reproducible: Always

I have the same problem. On Ubuntu 16.10 and Windows 10 (both 5.3.0.3) I saw
no check box at all for a pre-existing box.

To create a new one under Ubuntu, after one attempt I then couldn't find it in
the normal Control toolbar, but it was hidden with others under the 'design
mode' icon in the 'form controls' icon. I then got a strange icon when I
created a new check box, and it did not function at all.

This is new since at least 5.2.2 and possibly later.

I find the current interface for the Start Center to be mostly useless with the
large, ambiguous icons -- when several files have similar names and content
(different versions of the same file, for instance) there is no way to
distinguish them from the cartoon.

I would also like to have Details view, that allows me to see the type of
information I have been accustomed to since the DOS days.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105812] LibreOffice v.5.3.0.3 (Base, Writer, Calc, etc) not recognizing system font configurations on KDE Neon 5.8.5

2017-02-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105812

Geo Chura changed:

   What|Removed |Added

  Component|Writer |LibreOffice
Version|unspecified |5.3.0.3 release
 OS|other |Linux (All)

In an effort to resolve this issue I have purged a few lingering components
from an older Synaptic install of LO 5.1.4 (from the Neon repos) along with the
original SNAP install of LO v 5.3.0.3 and subsequently reinstalled the 5.3.0.3
SNAP from scratch.

The bug persists. LO writer & calc only recognize the few fonts in the SNAP
fonts folder ... ie Deja, Liberation, etc. None of the other known-good fonts
can be accessed from LO. For a premium word processor and page layout
application, this is a MAJOR weakness.

Out of frustration, prior to my reinstall of the SNAP 5.3.0.3, I downloaded and
verified the LO v 5.3.0.3 DEBS direct from Document Foundation. Upon what
seemed like a successful install, all system fonts were accessible from both
Writer and Calc. BUT ... (and it's a big fat one) the regular DEB install (as
reported elsewhere) installed with gaping holes in the toolbar and sidebar
panels which see-through to the desktop below. This is insane!! The end result
is that the user interface is left with an unrecognizable abstract background
pattern in the most critical tool palettes of the applications.

Thus, neither of these beautiful new releases seem usable on KDE Neon. Sure
hope someone can offer a suggestion soon.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105841] New: "First name" in user data is missing

2017-02-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105841

Bug ID: 105841
Summary: "First name" in user data is missing
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: news.dist...@quantentunnel.de

With libreoffice older than 5.3 I created some templates. This templates use
"first name" and also "last name" from the user data. With libreoffice 5.3
these templates are broken. Only last name is used. In Tools > Options > "user
data" there is also not anymore two fields for "first name" and "last name".
There is only one field "name".

In the documentation it describe the old behavior. Is the single field "name" a
new "feature" or a bug?

I upgraded from 5.2.x to 5.3 on Windows with the 64bit version.

At least easy to reproduce on Windows builds, extract the PNGs from attachement
113502 and insert into any new document. With OpenGL rendering enabled, result
in the black rectangles for the images. With CPU, or GPU rendering--bitmaps are
rendered to canvas no issue.

Not sure of behavior on Linux / macOS will check those a bit deeper.

Sidebar question though is how unusual/broken is this set of PNGs? They seem
kind of scarce.

@Tomaž, could you have a look?

I can confirm that the bug is still present in LibreOffice 5.3.0.

The ODF specification (v1.2 part 2 section 4.11.7.7) describes (almost) the
same behaviour as in Excel (there might be differences in ODF vs OOXML when the
two dates are exactly one year apart), but the values calculated in LibreOffice
are wrong (according to the standard).

I updated LibreOffice to version 5.3.0.3, and it is much better now.
But there is still a different spacing for text in a text field and text in the

But it is MUCH better.

I think it is strange that this happens, but you could actually leave it like
that.

Bug ID: 105839
Summary: FILESAVE fails to maintain gradient background
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chaplan...@gmail.com

Description:
When an Impress presentation contains a gradient color scheme for the slide it
fails to save properly. All gradient slides open as Black to White Gradient as
a default setting. This also failed in the last 5.24 version as well. "Color"
and "Hatching" selections save and open properly. "Gradient" is the only one
that fails to save properly -- making "Gradient" an unusable choice.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new presentation in Libre Impress
2. Choose a "Gradient" background of any 2 colors (not Black and White)
3. Save file
4. Open file -- the presentation will open as gradient Black and White.

Actual Results:
The file opened with a gradient background of black and white.

Expected Results:
Libre Impress should have saved and opened the file to the "Gradient"
background parameters chosen and "saved".

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Locale: en-US
Module: PresentationDocument

The nightly TB builds will not write into Windows registry, nor will they
install the MSVC++ runtime if needed, so your installation is likely not
complete.

You can force the full install with command line switches, but it is usually
going to work better if you preform a msiexec.exe /a "administrative" install.

Please uninstall the current attempt and perform a "parallel" installation as
described here:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows

Let us know if installing that way resolves your start up crashes.

And, value may be overridden from the Tools -> AutoCorrect Options: Localized

If defaults are not following local, that is an issue and please elaborate on

imo, it should be reverted as there is no workaround for this bug.
but bug 44282 as an easy workaround, add a space after the chapter number in
the TOC.

Could you please post that as a test document, or possibly extract the image
and post it. Thus far we only have the one set of problem PNG images from the
document attached in comment 0 above.

Would be helpful to narrow the types of images that cause this problem.

For German swiss settings these quotation marks appear as „ and “. This is
incorrect. The correct quotation marks in Switzlerland are « and »

Attachment 113502 (from bug 89473) is a MS Word .doc file that contains a set
of diagrams as PNG images.

Extracting the images, the ImageMagik "identify -verbose" shows them to be
"Bilevel" with depth of 8/1-bit in sRGB color space--but with an alpha color,
background color, and border color defined.

With OpenGL rendering enabled--inserting any of these odd PNGs to document
canvas (Writer, Draw, Impress) renders each as a black rectangle. While
processing with GPU enabled, or just with CPU, the image is well formed to
canvas--and on print/export.

Removing regression as this has clearly been an issue with our OpenGL rendering
in VCL when implemented for 4.4.0

No, I don't think so.

As split from bug 77525 --WMF/EMF and SVM graphics are a different graphics
stack and/or filter issue of OpenGL, GPU, and CPU processing.

Clearly a different issue from the OpenGL handling of the odd sRGB 8/1-bit
bilevel PNG (attachment 113502 from bug 89473 and its related bug 103833) that
results in black rectangles on document canvas and PDF export.

Alex kindly bibisected this, the results are in attachment 130976 of bug

The results are narrowed down to 2 commits, both submitted by Kohei Yoshida for
bug 71409. Kohei, please take a look:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range=e010834dc1a82fcb80dc23025001a752a0fb60a4..87e040fd0f04307534920d0765af6d5878794a98

Raising importance, since it is a serious accessibility issue.
