[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105628] Creating a ToC with page numbering by chapter (see comment 4)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105628 --- Comment #10 from Lee <92ma...@gmail.com> --- Bug 89606 is a summation of several issues. This was a specific issue. It is possible to generate a TOC where page numbers are reset at the chapter level. To accomplish generating a TOC in such a document is obscure. If my registration into the LibreOffice Wiki could get complete, I'd be willing to write an explanation of how to accomplish this. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get the required confirmation email associated with setting up an ID on the LibreOffice Wiki. Once a technique for TOC with page numbers by chapter is explained somewhere in the LibreOffice documentation, this issue could be marked resolved. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105992] New layout engine does not support “kern” table
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105992 --- Comment #18 from LibreTraining--- A few comments ... 1. It sounds like you are saying there is no kerning table support in HarfBuzz at all. That it is done by some algorithm. Is that the case? I took a closer look at both font files. FontForge shows both files have a GPOS table. That may or may not be correct. Fontlab Studio was what I used to print the kerning tables. It too makes no distinction showing how the kerning is structured internally. FontCreator does show a clue in its OpenType Designer dialog. For the older font, it shows: - KerningFromKernTable (kern) > KerningFromKernTable For the newer font, it shows: - Kerning (kern) > PairAdustment1 (which is also a lookup table) But since it automatically reads everything into the newer script format, the details look the same. What font tool(s) can be used which will show clearly the structure and tables? 2. Everything I have read at Microsoft Typography still talks about using the GPOS table. There was no deprecation that I can find. It appears this alternative format is just that, an alternative not a promulgated required standard. So why is the GPOS table an issue with HarfBuzz. 3. None of this explains why some character combinations are properly kerned and others are not. I would think all of it would be bad. Or does the HarfBuzz kerning algorithm just have inconsistent results? 4. And if HarfBuzz is not actually reading *any* kerning information that would be a BIG issue in my opinion. Is that the case? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106083] New: Calc chart y-axis title not displayed correctly in LibreOffice 5.3
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106083 Bug ID: 106083 Summary: Calc chart y-axis title not displayed correctly in LibreOffice 5.3 Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: pegr...@sonic.net Created attachment 131333 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=131333=edit same chart in 5.3.0 (top) and 5.2.5 (lower). Note y-axis title I upgraded from LibreOffice 5.25(Win x86) to 5.3( Win 64), and find that the y-axis title in x-y plots created in versions prior to 5.3 are no longer displayed correctly. This is a title that is rotated by 90 degrees, so that it is parallel to the y-axis. In 5.3 the y-axis title is compressed horizontally and is illegible. Attempts to fix the issue by editing the chart were not successful. I reverted to version 5.2.5, and the axis title is correctly displayed. Please see the attachment for an example of the problem. The top plot shows the plot as displayed in version 5.3, the lower plot shows the same plot in version 5.2.5. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105967] Force display of linebreaks (nonprinting chars) if part of a tracked edit
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105967 --- Comment #3 from strata_ran...@hotmail.com --- Yeah, I apologize for any ambiguity between line and paragraph breaks -- the underlying behavior is the same for both, and I'm aware my sample file contains both. Take paragraph 3 ("sample paragraphs one"). When displaying nonprinting characters, paragraph breaks inherit the formatting of the character immediately preceding them (foreground color aside). This behavior creates a huge problem for this line specifically: the pilcrow is formatted like insertion when it's actually part of a deletion. So I guess the problem is more accurately summarized as follows (should I rename?) : - Tracked edits to line/paragraph breaks not formatted according to inserted/deleted status -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
