[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68326] FILEOPEN: Bad table formating when open docx generated from bank

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 131688
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=131688=edit
bad-doc1_docx.pdf: enabled table border lines first, then exported from Word
2003

This document is an extremely complex mess of tiny rows, columns, and tables
within tables. I think every block of text is in a separate table. Some lines
are extra heavy, because there are minimal-width columns touching each other.

The problem is related to style "EmptyCellLayoutStyle" which doesn't seem to be
created. So the outermost table is failing to be created because of exceptions.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106377] New: Wrong Behaviour of Undo in Writer With Index Entry

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106377

Bug ID: 106377
Summary: Wrong Behaviour of Undo in Writer With Index Entry
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.1.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Type in "Hello World!" in Writer.

2. Put cursor at the beginning of the paragraph (i.e., before "H").

3. Insert > Table of Contents and Index > Index Entry. The default value for
"Entry" is displayed as "Hello".
DO revise it to something else (e.g., "Hellow"). Click OK to close the
dialogue.

4. Put cursor at the beginning of the paragraph, then right-click > Index Entry
> Remove.

5. Undo until you can not undo.

6. Redo until you can not redo.

--> You get "ello World!!!br0ken!!"

It is noticed that the revision of entry name in step 3 is important.
* If you do not revise the entry name (i.e., use the default "Hello"), the
Index Entry will be set on the world "Hello" and you will see "Hello" has a
shadow. In this case, you do not reproduce the bug behaviour in step 6.
* If you revise it to "Hellow", the Index Entry will be set before "H", and no
text in the document has shadow. In this case, you will reproduce the bug
behaviour.

Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+

I don't see the need for UX eval. This clearly describes the issue- and you
also state the solution:

> Enhancment here would be that Save (Ctrl+S) or Auto-Save would not
> reposition document canvas view back to the last edit cursor location. Nor
> of course to the edit View (Shift+F5) of the active settings.xml
>
> Rather additional canvas positioning hooks are needed for use in the current
> edit session so that canvas view can be kept isolated from the edit cursor.

Whether this is an enhancement or a bug is a different question. Following
comment 59 the issue is a regression too.

The title was actually changed to "Clear *direct* formatting". I'm correcting
it now as per your expressed intention.

But still, let's assume it clears all formatting. Assuming you did not intend
to modify the behavior, just rename it, it would still set the style to Text
Body instead of Default Style. However, when a document is created the default
paragraph format is Default Style.

Best regards.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42196] Automatically change the data source range when adding rows

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42196

Testing with KXStudio 14.04, LO details as follow:

Version: 5.2.5.1
Build ID: 1:5.2.5~rc1-0ubuntu1~trusty0
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 3.13; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: group

Here is what I see:

Data *will* be added if the data series range is extended by adding cells
inside it:
- If data series are in columns, adding a row inside the range will include the
new data.
- If data series are in rows, adding a column inside the range will include the
new data.

New data will *not* be added if a row or column is added *outside* the ranges
of the data series, i.e. if a column is added between two columns of data
series, or before or after them; or if a row is added between two row of data
series, or above or under them.
Similarly, if we add data under or above the ranges, it will not be
automatically extended.

I now think that the current behaviour is consistent and expected, and believe
that this bug should be closed. But I'd like to hear back from others first.

If there is a more specific issue, maybe a new bug should be opened as it seems
that we have been talking about a few different issues in the comments. (For
example, if you think that writing data next to an outer edge of a data series
range should automatically extend the boundaries, please open a new specific
report.)

This bug would save me time and disk space.

It's great how LibreOffice lets you link to images rather than embed them in
the ODT. It allows me to take ODTs that are many MBs and make them ~100 KB. It
is a pain to have to remember to do this for every images.

In fact, I'd prefer a version of LibreOffice that wouldn't let me embed images
and would always link. Many people might not, but I would prefer that model.

It would also be great to have a script I could run that would move all the
images out. We'll take it a step at a time.

Not reading/processing them on launch is residual to bug 67770 and the original
features for it [1].

And hate to kick it back to Bubli and Laurent, as it could be something
specific to macOS, but recording/restoring SideBar state has never worked 100%
cross platform.

Same time, issues with the Ruler and Windows size settings are not part of
recording states of the Sidebar elements, but they also are recorded into
registrymodifications.xcu--although I did not check it while poking at macOS.
On the Windows builds they are:

Ruler per module "HorizontalRuler" stanza set true|false

While Window size is by written per module, e.g.
org.openoffice.Setup:Factory['com.sun.star.text.TextDocument']

and then duplicated to the StartModule if last closed
org.openoffice.Setup:Factory['com.sun.star.frame.StartModule']

It seems that this bug has been fixed with LibreOffice 5.3 on Windows 8.1
64-bit; however, the bug is still present on Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon 64-bit.

Can someone reproduce that the bug is fixed with LibreOffice 5.3 on Windows,
yet the bug is still present in Linux? If so, is there a way to implement the
Windows fix on Linux?

Thank you

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106376] New: Unable to print image fields in reports with HSQL V2.3.3

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106376

Bug ID: 106376
Summary: Unable to print image fields in reports with HSQL
V2.3.3
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ch...@jamesvinylplus.co.uk

Description:
I am running LO5.2.5.1(X64) in split mode with HSQL2.3.3. I have a music
database which has several tables including one for the Album data and a linked
table with the Track data. The Album table has a BLOB field for the Album Art.

I have a Report linked to a query which asks for an input (Cat#). This then
extracts the data from both tables and puts it in a report ready for printing.

The image from the BLOB field is not in the report.

If I go to my Linux (Fedora) system running HSQL V1.8 and run a similar report
(I cannot run the same report due to the different HSQLs) then the image
appears.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Upgrade HSQLDB.JAR to V2.3.3
2.Generate a report which queries the table with the BLOB field
3.Check to see if the BLOB image shows on the report.

Actual Results:
Blank space where the image should be

Expected Results:
The image should be displayed on the report

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I can reproduce this on Linux as well, but I have absolutely no idea what is
going on and why a change in line height calculation would make any difference
between print and non-print output. Furthermore I don’t even know what “Use
printer metrics for text formatting” and why it is even an option. This needs
input from someone who understands Calc code, and I feel that the line height
change is red herring and the real issue lies somewhere else.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106375] New: Align Horizontally should be Align Center on Formatting toolbar

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106375

Bug ID: 106375
Summary: Align Horizontally should be Align Center on
Formatting toolbar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libretraining.tutori...@gmail.com

Description:
In the paragraph alignment icon labels on the Formatting toolbar
the icon label “Align Horizontally” should be “Align Center”

It is inconsistent with the other labels in LibreOffice, and other
applications.
In the Modify Paragraph Style dialog Alignment tab this is “Centered” which
makes more sense.

Which term does not belong?
- Left
- Right
- Center
- Horizontal

“Please align this for me horizontally.”
“What does that mean?”
“Oh sorry, align it to the left, or to the right, or in the center.”

Horizontal is an axis or direction.
X-axis = Horizontal axis (usually)
Y-axis = Vertical axis (usually)

Direction or Axis: Horizontal/Vertical
Horizontal Alignment: Left, Center, Right
Vertical Alignment: Top, Center, Bottom

“Align Center” would be a more logical, and more consistent label.

Examples in other applications …

Microsoft Word
Paragraph horizontal alignment labels include:
- Align Left
- Align Center
- Align Right
- Justified

Adobe InDesign
Paragraph horizontal alignment labels include:
- Align left
- Align center
- Align right
- Justify with last line aligned left
- Justify with last line aligned center
- Justify with last line aligned right
- Justify all lines

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106374] New: View jumps to beginning of index after updating

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106374

Bug ID: 106374
Summary: View jumps to beginning of index after updating
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thomas.le...@gmail.com

If you have a large index or ToC and update it, the view jumps to the beginning
of the index.

This is annoying if you have a large index and you want to monitor a change
after update - you can't see the update process and what changed live because
the view changes.

Expected result: Retain the view position after updating an index.

Tested with LibO 5.3.0.3
Build ID: 1:5.3.0~rc3-0ubuntu1~trusty1.1
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 3.13; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk2; Layout
Engine: new;
Locale: de-AT (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group

Also tested with LibO 5.1.4.2 on Windows 8.
It's an old bug that also existed in OpenOffice.org.

That's quite hard to achieve because of how LO works - you need to load the
whole document into memory before you can manipulate it.

Also I don't think the problem is loading of the document but with loading of
the LO library, which takes some significant time (when loading document the
second time or another document, it is much faster for me). What we need to do
is to laod the library when the app is starting up or in background when in
document browser.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41063] Saving/Autosaving (Save/Autosave) while in table causes view to jump to cursor position

2017-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41063

Created attachment 131687
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=131687=edit
Example file with a table that forces a jump and with a table that doesn't
force a jump

I tested the jump at autosave/save issue with an old file created with OOo
3.0.1 in 2009. No jumps occur with that file.

I created a new file with LibO 5.3.0.3 on Ubuntu Linux 14.04 with a new 2
column table ("first table") and a bigger table that I copied from the old OOo
file ("second table").

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open my attached file.
2. Change something (no matter where or what you insert or delete a letter).
3. Set the cursor into the first or second table.
4. Scroll the the bottom of the page so that the content is out of view.

Result:

If the cursor is in the second (bottom) table, saving the document will not
jump the view to cursor position.

If the cursor is in the first (upper) table, saving the document will jump the
view to cursor position.

- Align Left
and
- Align Right

These match the labels on the icons for paragraph alignment on the toolbar.
Same terms. Same effect.
Introducing new terms for the same thing would just be confusing.

And while we are at it ..

- Align horizontally (on the toolbar icon)
is inconsistent with other labels.
In the style dialogs this is “Centered” which makes more sense.

- Align center
would be a better and more consistent label.

Which term does not belong?
- Left
- Right
- Center
- Horizontal

Alignment: Left/Center/Right
Direction: Horizontal/Vertical

Microsoft Word – labels include:
- Align Left
- Align Center
- Align Right
- Justified

Word just defaults to Align Left for the last line of Justified text (in LTR
languages).

Adobe InDesign – labels include:
- Align left

- Align right
- Justify with last line aligned left
- Justify with last line aligned center
- Justify with last line aligned right
- Justify all lines
- Align towards spine
- Align away from spine

unique area, covering the all line, and will be still wrong. I created a
conditional formatting only on the first column, it's copy and past that
produces this area.

Thanks for the update, xmlsec now accepts this on Linux/macOS. Let me use this
bug for the xmlsec/nss scenario and once it works, we could have a follow-up
bug for the Windows part. Though that won't be too easy, since CryptoAPI
doesn't seem to support ECDSA.

Document loading in Android viewer takes quite a while. It would be great if we
can decrease the loading time.

Right now whole document loads at once. Loading pages one by one instead of the
complete document could be a way to go.

Yes, I can confirm but menu starts working after focusing on the document.

Code pointer (SfxNotebookBar.cxx:353):

IMPL_STATIC_LINK(SfxNotebookBar, OpenNotebookbarPopupMenu, NotebookBar*,
pNotebookbar, void)
{
SfxViewFrame* pViewFrame = SfxViewFrame::Current();
if (pNotebookbar && pViewFrame)
{

pViewFrame is nullptr after leaving the slideshow and trying to open menu.

It seems that after closing slideshow the main windows is not completely
activated and that is the reason.

Sometimes it is useful to use a wrap setting "text in line" (known from a
competitor program) for frames/images/object within a text paragraph.

Wrap text in line behaves as "none wrap" but the text begins instantly at the
bottom right of the frame/images/object - and not entirely below the
frame/picture.

I will attach a text document with 2 test cases of this feature to see a
benefit for real world usage.

"Start" might be confusing. "Left/Right" could work and of course a simple
"Left" or "Right" depending on LTR vs. RTL. And if all fails why not have a
right aligned last line even for LTR?

Taking 'Text direction' in the same dialog into account and the fact that
independently from this setting Left always means left in the preview I'm
afraid that RTL is not respected anyway.

bug. However the locale has been changed via the Control Panel to display dates
in ISO8601 format and times in 24 hour format, so strictly speaking it's ***NO
LONGER*** a locale en-GB, but something customized, and LibreOffice should be
able to use whatever date and time formats I use to be displayed in any system
dialog, such as the one under discussion here!

AND AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT ASK USERS TO DOWNLOAD AN OBSOLETE VERSION UNTIL SUCH A
TIME THAT, EVEN ON WINDOZE, SEVERAL VERSIONS CAN BE USED CONCURRENTLY! I WILL
FLATLY REFUSE TO DO SO!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106330] UI- single click should select text on slide, not double click

I believe you are testing with both "General/Allow quick editing" and "Only
text area selected", right?

This gives the same behaviour as Microsoft Powerpoint, which is that if no
textboxes are selected then clicking on text will immediately activate the
insertion point and allow editing of the text. Pressing the Esc key is needed
to deactivate the text insertion point and to select the whole textbox (and
show its outline).

The behaviour I want is different and matches what Apple Keynote does on OS X:
if no textboxes are selected, then a single click on text will select and mark
the bounding box of the textbox but will *not* activate the insertion point of
the text and so the text cannot be edited. To activate the insertion point
requires another single click on the text, which will activate the text
insertion point and allow editing of the text. I find this behaviour safer as
I often want to move or resize the textbox without editing the text.

The current behaviour of LO with both "General/Allow quick editing" and "Only
text area deselected is close to what I want, but is different to the Apple
Keynote behaviour. In LO, the first click selects the textbox and shows its
outline, as in Keynote, but to edit the text requires a *double* click to
activate the insertion point and edit the text. I think that using a *single*
click to edit the text is all that is required, which is a simpler interface
and also matches the expectations from Keynote on OSX.

(Note that in Keynote, a double click selects the entire word under the pointer
which should probably also be the behaviour for LO, but if it kept its current
behaviour of also activating the insertion point, then that would be OK).

Not OK. All those "text body" titles miss the point.
Apply Style > "Clear formatting" should be simply renamed to "Clear all
formatting". So I change the title so.

> > I would just like to see "Clear formatting" in Apply Style renamed to "Clear

Not so. Format has "Clear direct formatting" and it's fine, but there should
also be "Clear all formatting".

I only see the perturbation of the font layout with the text selected (see my

I am sure this bug has been present over many previous releases, although I
don't have a previous version to test at the moment.

Created attachment 131685

Screenshots showing font reformatting when text selected

These screenshots show an Impress slide with: (1) no text box selected (2)
textbox selected but no text selected (3) textbox selected and text selected.

Note that in (3) the spacing between fonts is different (e.g. note the
increased spacing between the 2nd and 3rd characters).

In Options|General neither "Allow quick editing" or "Only text area selected"
is selected (in any case, these options do not affect this bug).
