That is the Formula Bar in its collapsed default state, but it can be toggled
to Expanded out of single line mode, and then set to a height you prefer that
will show the full lines of text.

Looks wonderful, awesome.

I think better if we have a new section on the left sidebar 'About' and then
you can put this kind of information there. These are not really settings, so
doesn't belong here.

Can you put your patch on gerrit. See [1]. Things would be changed a little for
online repository. You can either install git-review from your distro (apt-get
install git-review ?) and then do 'git review' command would push your patch to
gerrit, or if that doesn't work for some reason, you can just push to :

git push logerrit HEAD:refs/for/

the crash video.

As the video, my version is "Version: 5.0.6.2" in CentOS7 Linux.
It's Ppreinstalled in the system, and I don't think it's a big problem for me
to use it.
So I won't change to new version 5.2.6.

When writing legal documents, there are often actual requirements that blank
pages be noted as such.  In other words, certain legal documents with a blank
page that does not say something like "Intentionally left blank" would be
rejected.  The blank page feature is necessary and used all the time in certain
circles.  For example, manuals for medical instruments must never have blank
pages that are truly blank.  I am glad that LO allows for automatically
generated blank pages.  Unfortunately, the feature is not complete.

Currently, we can specify that a particular Paragraph Style may insert a page
break before the paragraph.  We can also specify the Page Style for the
paragraph, which can be a page style already created by the user.  What we need
is to also be able to specify the Page Style for the blank page that would be
created if blank pages are to be automatically created.  This way users can
create their own blank page styles as needed.

Looked in office 2016 and LO 5.3.0.3 in windows and LO 5.2.5.1 in debian.

The bullet looks probably as close as it could be compared to the MS version.
(It doesn't look out of place like it used to and i would say is converting
correctly.)

Overall The document really only suffers from text alignment issues which is
noticeable in the tables especially.

It's almost like the page area of LO documents is smaller than office as a lot
of elements are squished or run multiple lines.

The 2 attached files written by Excel show  (tab) characters within cell
data.  The chars in the .XLS file can be seen in plain text.  The chars in the
.ODS file can be seen if the file is unzipped - look for the sequence
...abcd...
in the unzipped data.

Regrettably, I find that the display of text with literal  chars within a
cell varies with version of Excel.  I'm most familiar with Excel 2007; a more
recent Excel (2013) displays  at the end of the text within the cell. 
Nonetheless, all versions I've tried are tab-preserving with save and restore
(re-read).

Sigh -- it appears there is general inconsistency about the behaviour around
 handling.

I am using Windows 10 slovenian localization. The language is set to slovenian,
decimal separator is comma (marked for the same as localization setting). When
I enter 1,5 in A1, then press Ctrl-' in A2, I get 1.5 left aligned (as string).

I don't know. Language locale setting is set in my profile. Redlining is the
default behavior in my personal profile and my 5.3 test profile on Windows and
Ubuntu Linux regardless whether I edit a cell or not.

Bug still exists in version 5.3.0.

But I'm not sure if this bug should be corrected. 

I think it's good practice to use for each subject an own folder. Hence the use
of a single folder for documents is in most cases not reasonable. Therefore the
definition of a single path for documents in the options dialogue may be
questionable. Perhaps it's better to remove the path for documents from the
options and always use the path of the last load or save of a document as
proposal of the current load or save procedure.

rotated text example with LO 5.3.2.0+, TB62 2017-03-13

Was this really ALL OS bulds, or just Windows?

Anyhow, rotation and scaling are corrected on Windows builds for both OpenGL
rendering and Default rendering at 5.3.2--please check a current nightly
TinderBox build.

Also, please note that when rotating you do need to set the text Reference Edge
to be inside the cell, if that is the effect you want.

Incredible slowness and crashes with document with vast num of frame dups
it looks like draw:name values are supposed to be unique in ODF, even if it's
not spelled out explicitly, since it exists so the frame can be referenced,
which sort of implies that it has to be unique, so a document where the values
aren't unique can be considered invalid 19.197.10  The draw:name
attribute specifies a name by which a  element can be referenced.
So reject duplicate frames

myself.

To create my database, on a system with firebird 3 installed,
I put these commands into exmple_crt.sql ...

is anybody looking for this problem? It would be good if it could be solved at
least in the next version LO 5.3.2.
If it is too hard to find the reason and to solve the problem, I think one
should think about to retire the patch for Bug 105629. IMHO it is more serious
if filter on date columns doesn't work as if filter on time values doesn't
work.

is very tedious to (mentally) match the appearance of a shape to its numerical
coordinates, particularly if they are expressed in variables. 

Allowing to show the variables may be one solution (like debugging with console
print statements) there may be other ways, too, like having a live, tabular
overview of points in a shape or some firebug-like introspection tools…

Bug always present in 5.2.6 / Win 8.1 Pro 64 

The buttons in the new Mail Merge toolbar ("Edit Invidual Documents", "Save
Merged Documents" etc...) don't take in account any filter or even sort order
done through the "Data Sources" window ( Ctrl-Shift-F4).

It's really annoying and disturbing for end users because filter / sort in Data
Sources window is easy and safe ( easier and safer than modifying a query in
the database).

I think (and not just only me) the documentation (helps, guides, examples) has
its importance.
So I point out some discrepancies and gaps in IT documentation as evidenced by
the attachments (such as N instead of NUM, VALDISPARI and VAL.DISPARI_ADD
instead of VAL.DISPARI, and some notes applying to the EN version but not for
IT, etc.).
What shown applies to both the local and the online documentation.
I also feel that in many cases it is also proper to insert explanatory
examples, at least when the interpretation of the text is not exactly simple:
it is the case of the functions CERCA for which I had to resort to the help of
corresponding products. In this regard, I attach a simple spreadsheet support.

I just tried using LibreOffice 5.3.1 and gave an extension dictionary a
dictionaries.xcu with en-GB-oed for the Locales property and
installed that, it was recognized fine and "English, OED spelling (UK)" was
marked as spell-checker available.

Giving en-GB-oxendict instead, an additional entry
"en-GB-oxendict" is added to the available Hunspell SpellChecker under
Tools-Options-LanguageSettings-WritingAids. To use, changing the language for
text one has to enter en-GB-oxendict once in the language combobox edit field,
from then on it is available.

We'll probably need a mechanism that dictionary provided language tags are
automatically added to that list. Though in this case both, en-GB-oxendict and
en-GB-oed, are internally known and maybe could be treated as aliases for UI
purposes.

I don't think this issue and tdf#131696 are duplicates, even though they look
similar. In this case, the table cell contains a section, without any
attributes like "Allow table split across pages and columns" and "Allow row
break across pages and columns" being set for the table.

The initial view of the document seems to be correct in LO, since the text
frame of "Bankverbindung" is 2.88cm in height and the neighbored text frame of
"Zufahrt" is only 2.752cm in height causing some text to be missing.
(measurements taken from the original odt xml files). So there is something
strange in the original data. 

The almost disappearing lower textbox in the docx-export seems to be related to
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101627
since deactivating the special treatment for docx textboxes in the footer
results in a much better rendering of the document.

Why MSO renders both files correctly is an open question for me. Is there a
documentation that states the behavior in the case, if the text frame is
smaller than the actual text?

No, the Scaling option was removed for 5.3, and there is no other way to
increase the font size in just the Formula Bar

You need to scale the entire application as the DE supports and allow the OS to
handle your preferences. Believe it of not this was done to improve integration
with HiDPI systems like Apple Retina displays.

Hello,
I captured an internet screen image using Print Screen and pasted it into
Photoshop. I took a selection of that image and pasted it into a Libre word
processing document. Later, in Libre I cut the image and pasted it into another
location  in the document. After saving, I recalled the document but that image
was no longer there but there was an empty box with the text something like
"Image 001". MS Word refused to load the document, saying it contained
corrupted data. Libre loaded the document. I deleted the empty box and pasted
in another image and it was fine. MS Word then loaded the document
successfully.

This is not a 'Bug', it's a feature... The diamond symbol (0x800c) is not part
of MS Office fonts, and therefore it is replaced by 0xf035. Unfortunately, the
size of the replacement is bigger than the original. 

Responsible for the new symbol is the function "bestFitOpenSymbolToMSFont" in
the "filter" module (called in doc + docx export). With a deactivated
conversion, MS Office renders an error-symbol.

So the options are:
 - should we find a better replacement?
 - should we decrease the font size in this case?

No Eike is correct, the WEEKNUM is hardcoded to the selected MODE. Locale has
no impact on the calculation.

But for English (UK) locale WW date formatting is not handled as a ISO 8601,
French (France) and German (Germany) locales both are.  And, English/French
(Canada) has me scratching my head.

In the attached sample document I've set the WEEKNUM to mode 21 to force ISO
8601, simply change the Tools -> Options -> Languages Settings -> Languages:
Local setting to locale.

If the locale based English (UK) WW should be ISO 8601 it is not--and this
remains valid.

As per the request in Comment 4, I'm confirming this is still an issue in
LibreOffice 5.3. Select image, right click -> Save, and the dialog provides a
choice of image formats. The data will only be saved in the original format
however, regardless of which format is chosen.
