[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107542] New: Remote File Saving Not Working

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107542

Bug ID: 107542
Summary: Remote File Saving Not Working
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: iOS
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: s.k.winter.bl...@gmail.com

When trying to save a remote file, the following errors occur:

1. It asks for a G-_ code for Google Drive, even when 2FA is not activated.
In addition, even with 2FA, the authenticator app is only for numbers that do
not follow a G.

2. Even when inputting what's shown in the authenticator app, the following
error message is received: "Error saving the document [TITLE OF THE DOCUMENT]
General input/output error."

I have tried to remedy the problem by removing the Google Drive completely,
only for the problem to return and persist.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84146] EDITING: Variable value not set

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84146

>Set_Variable VarA is (without the quotes)
seems to set VarA to the value of the variable "is" in Writer 5.3.3.1.
Additionally, it wants a number, in spite of the availability of "Text"
formatting.
This might or might not be correct behavior; the documentation isn't at all
clear.

IMO, this doesn't seem to be the *BEST* behavior, in that Perl (for example)
states that a variable is a named string of characters that might or might not
be interpretable as a number. Yes, C++ proceeds to overload the + operator to
mean concatenation, but plenty of BASIC languages since time immemorial have
achieved this with operators (MID$) and casts, such as NUM$ and STR$.

(In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #1)
> Selected version is 5.4 but in your comment is 5.2

Whoops. Actually, it should be the earliest covered by the
bibisect-43max repository. I am setting version "4.3.0.4 release".

>
> When you use [Ctrl+A] you are selecting the whole cells on the sheet not

> General_Shortcut_Keys_in#Shortcut_keys_for_editing_or_formatting_documents

Right. In step (2) I described merely the visible result.

>
> So you are applying a direct format to 1.073.741.824 cells.

Actually, that part was surprisingly fast. Getting to the "Format
Cells" dialog in step 5 was unreasonably slow, but that is a problem
for another day.

>

But redrawing the screen should be the same with step (4) and with the
workaround.

Although fileformat for Base is rather outdated (ODF 1.0), everything worked
fine until 5.3-versions. HSQL-files aswell as Firebird-ODB I can not change
design, fields-properies are greyed out. Nasty for example, when you need to
change a Fieldlength or a field to autoincrement ( sic: ID).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107523] Inconsistent, history-dependent results of referencing missing variables in conditional text

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107523

The *delete* key doesn't actually *delete* a variable when it deletes the field
that sets it?

Expected: If I set a variable at some point in a field in a document, the value
applies from that point forward in the document, and is not available prior to
that point. If the field is erased from the document with the delete key (or
any other standard way of removing stuff) then Writer acts as if the variable
had *never* been set at that point.

5.2.6.2 behavior is a recipe for trouble, not to mention bugs like 84148, which
I just confirmed. 92662 requests exactly this, variables with no position in
the document, but conceptually at the beginning.

The behavior is counter-intuitive--I have to delete something I inserted once
in two places. I have an extra place I have to audit if I want to know all the
variables in the document. While I'm at it, what happens if I want to *change*
the value of a variable in the middle of a document?

And why do I do these things? I am producing a *class* of similar documents
and assembling them, if I can, automatically from pieces. I produce a product
with multiple options, and the conception is to "turn the crank" and export a
document with exactly the options that are present for any given instance of
the product.

4.3.3 is quite old.
Could you give a try to a recent LO version? (last stable LO version is 5.3.2)
Since you seem to use Debian, Debian testing contains 5.2.6.

The "delete" key does not erase a variable totally but only the "set" field.
After the "set" field is erased, go to Insert > Field > More Fields, tab
Variables. You will find the variable still listed there. Select it. Then you
can use the read cross on the right side of "Name" "Value" to really delete the
variable.

Selected version is 5.4 but in your comment is 5.2

When you use [Ctrl+A] you are selecting the whole cells on the sheet not only
the visible cells.
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/General_Shortcut_Keys_in#Shortcut_keys_for_editing_or_formatting_documents

So you are applying a direct format to 1.073.741.824 cells.

The only thing that seems spend a bit of time is (9) what maybe is in relation
with redraw the screen.

Calc don't use the new formula interpreter needed by OpenCL implementation.

For the second option, I think that that means that Calc made tests to check if
OpenCL driver works well and found that it does not work well and must be not
used for Calc.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107538] New: EDITING

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107538

Bug ID: 107538
   Summary: EDITING
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chr.hovin...@gmail.com

Hello,
I use Impress in Libreoffice 5.2.5.1 under Ubuntu 16.04.

- I create several dias, based on the "green" master page and give them a
title, and fill in the object area of each dia with a few lines (level 1)
- I edit the master page "verdoyant" to modify the filling of the title
area and the filling of the area of objects.
- I then assign another master page (DNA) to a few dias.
- I also edit the master page "DNA" to modify differently the filling of
the title area and the filling of the area of objects.

This is where it stalls:
- at the level of the filling of the titles, no problem.
- But the filling of the dias of the DNA PM kept the filling that had
been defined in the verdant PM.
- If then, I modify the filling of the object area of the Verdant PM,
this affects all the dias.
- Finally, on the dias based on the DNA PM, if I right click on the
objects area, and I choose "default formatting", this dia finally has the right
filling.

Conclusion: it seems that there is a bug in the filling of the object area when
changing PM: The old fill of the object area is applied directly to the dias
for which the master page is changed , And these dias no longer follow the
filling of the new master page.

NOTE: What I said for filling the object field is also true for the line
properties of this zone. But there is no problem with the fonts in this area.

I have found no way to get around this problem. (Except to return to each dia,
select the object area (s), and apply "default format".) And I've been looking
for several days ... Does anyone see any other solution? Otherwise, it seems to
me that this would be a bug.

Just another information: I tried under Windows 7 Libreoffice 5 (may be 5.1.6,
but not sure of the minor version) and had the same problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107536] New: REPORTBUILDER: Pie chart colours revert to defaults in generated report

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107536

Bug ID: 107536
Summary: REPORTBUILDER: Pie chart colours revert to defaults in
generated report
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jr87...@gmx.com

Description:
When non-default area/fill colours are chosen in a Pie chart in Base Report
Builder, these colours revert to the defaults when the report is shown in
Writer.

Same thing happens when the chart is re-edited in Report Builder.

Same thing happens in an Area chart.

Using LO v5.2.6.2 (Build ID: a3100ed2409ebf1c212f5048fbe377c281438fdc
downloaded from LO website on 30 April 2017) on OpenSuse 13.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new database in Base with 1 table with 2 fields and 3 records (first
field = category labels, second field = values, no key).
2. Create report using Report Builder: insert pie chart using data from the
table.
3. Change pie chart area colours other colours and save the report.
4. Re-edit the report and select the pie chart for editing: see the colours
revert to defaults.
5. Exit Report Builder *without* saving changes.
6. Generate the report: see the colours in Writer have reverted to defaults.

Actual Results:
1. On re-editing, chart colours in Report Builder revert to defaults.
2. Chart colours in Writer have reverted to defaults.

Expected Results:
1. On re-editing, custom Chart colours remain as last specified.
2. Custom Chart colours are shown in report in Writer as last specified in
Report Builder.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107535] New: EDITING slow movement between cells

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107535

Bug ID: 107535
Summary: EDITING slow movement between cells
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lo_b...@iseries-guru.com

Created attachment 132972

example spreadsheet

STR

( 0) Download the attached example.ods, 26KB. It a pretty ordinary
spreadsheet extending to cell AM277. I first observed this
problem on an equivalent tab-separated-values file of 68KB.

( 1) Open example.ods. Observe that cell A1 is current and that the
font control shows Liberation Sans 10-point.

( 2) Type "+A". The program displays all visible cells with a
 blue background.

( 3) Click on the "expand" down-arrow at the right edge of the font
name. Program presents a dropdown list.

( 4) With the mouse, navigate to Liberation Mono and click on that
name. All cells are still selected.

( 5) Type "+1". Program presents dialog "Format Cells".

( 6) Navigate to tab Alignment. Observe that checkbox Properties >
 "Wrap text automatically" is unchecked.

( 7) Click on that checkbox and then on button . Program returns
focus to the main Calc window; all cells are still selected.

( 8) In a second terminal window issue the command ...
 top -d 1 -p $( pidof soffice.bin )
Note the CPU time used by soffice.bin.

( 9) In the main Calc window, press the right-arrow key ten times.
 Cell K1 becomes current.

(10) In the second terminal window, note the CPU time used by
soffice.bin, and calculate the CPU time used since step (7).

Expected: Maybe perhaps about 0.70 seconds.
 Observed: 12 or 13 seconds.

If in step (4) you type "Liberation Mono" instead of selecting it from
the drop-down list, the slowdown does not happen.

These observations are from debian-stretch with LibreOffice versions
(*) daily Linux dbgutil bibisect repository version 2017-04-29
(*) bibisect-43max version oldest
(*) Version: 5.2.6.2 Build ID: 1:5.2.6-2, as delivered by debian-stretch

I have found several bug reports which may be reporting this problem,
but I am unable to determine that with any confidence.

The existence of a workaround suggests a lowered priority for this
report, but it does not suggest a workaround in any of the similar
reports. I am leaving the default bug priority.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107298] Snap option "When creating or moving objects" is mis-labeled in Draw

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107298

Agree we should adjust the label. Believe "Constrain Objects" would be
correct. As just "Constraints" would be too vague, while annotating as
"Transformations" would loose context to the underlying positioning grid. And
either would be troublesome for l10n/i18n.

The movements, reshaping and transformations of Drawing objects are all still
occurring using the adjustable Snapping Grid framework that includes 45°
diagonal movement.

These controls enable/disable and adjust "snap" to that grid--which is the
Dialog title.

While rotation is constrained with angular increments--freely rotated by
default, or constrained when checked.

And, kind of feel there is an implementation disconnect between mouse use and
keyboard cursor use for movements--settings here should apply to cursor
movement of objects--but that is a different issue.

Had to resort to the Drawing guide to figure out the Point Reduction. But in
the context of snap to grid, believe it controls the density of "target" points
along a polygons curve that will take a snap. I does not reshape the
curve--just the available "targets" for the snap.

In comment #3 it is indicated that the size of a formula can be modified by
using the keyword size in the formula code.

Please don't reopen a old bug report closed as Not_A_Bug. If you think that
this functionality should be implemented, please open a new enhancement
request.

If you think that the procedure you described in comment #4, that is different
than resizing a formula using the mouse, don't work as expected, please open a

Closing again.

As advised, I've now replaced the OpenSuse distro edition of LO with same
version downloaded directly from TDF - this has resolved the issue for me.

This has also thrown up a different bug in Report Builder that I will report
elsewhere. Evidently it's important to realise that distro editions can be
significantly different from master editions, eg install and config subfolders
are different for each edition.

OpenSuse users doing the same may want to restore the soft link to 'soffice'
(ln -s /usr/bin/soffice /opt/libreoffice5.2/program/soffice)

Thanks to all for your interest & help.

This problem, or its close relatives, have existed in OpenOffice.org /
LibreOffice ever since the very first version!
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=5266
Can we get it sorted out please?
My comment from OOO bug tracker…

I have a degree in computer science, and I just spent about 1 hour converting a
formula into SVG graphic format.
This required approximately the following procedure:
* Open LibreOffice Math
* Write formula
* Could not find a way to "export to Draw", "export to SVG", etc.
* Open LibreOffice Draw
* Menu: Insert/ Object/ Formula
* Manually edit the formula (paste in formula code)
* Format/ Font size/ make the text incredibly tiny with 5 point text, so that
the entire formula would be shown inside the tiny, rigid, NON-RESIZEABLE box
thata Insert/Object had placed it inside (the formula was internally
overflowing, and being clipped) — of course this NON-RESIZEABLE box was NOT
automatically resizing itself to the formula contained inside it…
* Context menu: Convert to profile (initially attempted convert to curve, but
this resulted in resizing & clipping so had to try another option)
* Manually resize resulting formula-profile to width of page.
* Manually resize page to vertical size of object
* Export as SVG

I'm running LO 5.2.3.3 x64 — it baffles me how anyone thinks this procedure is
acceptable in 2017. Perhaps with Windows 3.1 in 1992, I would have thought this
about normal, but these days, this is well below my expectations for how
software should work! Anyone who thinks that being inside this strait-jacket is
a "feature" is frankly an idiot. Sorry for the undiplomatic language!

Seems the GUI interprets "-" as a hyphen if it must produce a line-break. If
you will change the width of the column the other text will appear. Also
changing the height of the column will work.

I couldn't see it ever worked in another way. LO 4.0.5.2 and also LO 3.6.7.2
will show the same behavior. (Tested with OpenSUSE 42.1 64bit rpm Linux)

Showing all the content of a MEMO-field in the table-GUI shouldn't be allowed
with automatic row-height, because the content of such a field could be very
large. Only MEMO allows to save line-breaks and paragraphs. So the automatic
row-height will only show the height of one row.

A possible enhancement will be to show there is more content with a (red)
triangle like it is shown in fields of the report-builder.

Other enhancement will be: Don't let "-" be interpreted as a hyphen. But how
should set hyphens instead?

I will set this one to ENHANCEMENT and the version to LO 3.6.7.2 Couldn't test
here, but seems it is been inherited from OOo.

I didn't say that.

I have done a new sample, where to seems the issue is the -1 for third MATCH

But it happens with a modified 'Reference|Array SearchRegion', what I am not
sure it is allowed in the specification, at least explicitly.

This morning when I opened my document EVERY "fixed date" was last weeks (the
last time I updated the document) date. I added todays entry and saved the file
and when I re-opened the document all the dates were todays date.

Duplicating this to bug 106265

@Francisco, please comment over in the other issue on the count of active fonts
you have, and if you have the Language Tools extension installed.

Thanks!

Must be something with AMD drivers. After I uninstalled them, all text was
visible, but after I install them text become invisible again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107298] Snap option "When creating or moving objects" is mis-labeled in Draw

2017-04-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107298

"Snap position" is a bad title, especially because "Snap" is used in the left
group too. The German UI has different words, "Fangen" in the left group and
"Einrasten" in the right one. I support changing "Snap position" to something
better. "Constrains" sounds better to me. "Constrain Tranformation" would
imply, that the object exists already, but some options work when creating the
object.

All three options can only be understood, when reading the extended tip. I see
no good way to describe it in a single line. For example: "Extend edges". Long
version: If you create an object, which it not constrained to a square bounding
box in itself, you can force the size of the shape to a square bounding box,
when you hold down the shift key while releasing the mouse button. If this
option is checked, the larger edge of the drag-create bounding rectangle is
used as edge for the square bounding box. If this option is not checked, the
shorter one is used.

Do you know a one line description for that? The German version "Längere
Kantenlänge" is clearer than the English "Extend edges" but the relation to the
feature itself is missing too.

The forth options "Point reduction" does not belong to this group at all and
should have a larger distance to the other three. It sets the angle for the
tool .uno:BezierEliminatePoints, the right most icon in the point edit toolbar.
The label "Point reduction" is bad too, see bug 105988.

No reports, or QA testing, showing that this occurs on builds other than
Windows.

Also, disabling the font preview eliminates the crash. Adjusting summary

Still need info on relationship of having the LANGAUGE TOOL extension installed
and really need a solid STR and WinDbg stacktrace of the crash.

Confirmed.
Workaround: go to Navigator - Drawing objects, select the shape there. Then
right-click on it and change anchor - to page. Now you can move it around
freely.

In 3.3, I can select it directly and move it freely. In 3.5 it already behaves
like reported.
