GitHub also have an issue for this.

According to GitHub this is due to HarfBuzz lacks support for 'vpal' table,
which is similar to vhea/vmtx tables used for TTF fonts.

Wouldn't the "correct" fix be to find some way to just link this to the user's
default template rather than bundle a hard coded one in the installer?

How many people alter something about the default template and would expect
that to carry through to a "New > OpenDocument Text"? I know I do.

 Component: Writer

There should be the possibility to search for words definitions using
Wiktionary.

Maybe there is an API that could be used for that.

Wiktionary supports multiple languages and maybe, if it gets more used, it will
be more improved (maintained) in the future.

https://www.wiktionary.org/

The last time I tried to search for word definitions in MS Word 2016, it
searched also on an on-line dictionary (from Bing?).

I have just reproduced it in Windows 10 x64:
1) I have the quick start enabled and exited it on the trayicon area.
2) I double-clicked on the LanguageTool extension:
   https://languagetool.org/download/snapshots/?C=M;O=D
   LanguageTool-20170618-snapshot.oxt
3) it opens a blank document and the extension manager
4) Press okay to install the OXT
5) After it is installed, pressed okay, it will ask to restart and select okay
6) it will reopen the document and the extension manager and ask to install the
   OXT again

notice I already had 2) installed before doing this whole steps.

I haven't tried the safe mode.

x1sc0,
Can you follow the steps to see if it happens to you too?

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Xisco,

You select the Case buttons with text and press the confirm button.
(case buttons are the ones to turn all text to UCASE,LCASE,
CAPITALIZE_EACH_WORD).

Then, you will see the buttons with the text in the toolbars.

Then, you go back to the settings and remove them.

Press confirm again, and the colour bars will stay huge.

So I change the subject.

It is a valid enhancement request. But because it has to be developed from
scratch, it is unlikely, that it will be solved in near future; unless you find
a sponsor for it.

The request has the parts:
Rendering an object with "Content MathML" content
Providing an editor for "Content MathML"
But only if someone is actually working on it, it is worth to split the task.

>From a file format point of view there are no problems. ODF allows all kind of
MathML.

> Exporting a file will normally cause the loss of some data, ...
Nope, as you self explain in c7 - some data is merely stripped and that ONLY in
the exported document - there is no loss of data on export at all.

However did you read my usecase 2?

It is the other-way round, namely if you use 'Save as' and keep continuing
editing.
I just checked again in a recent LO-calc version:
Save as csv, click warning away (what else should one do, it is the only way to
"export" as csv).
csv document is rendered/displayed exactly odc document, there is no hint of
data-loss on Save.

> like exporting to html format, or the
> loss of all data, like when exporting to png, with the intend that it wont
> be re-edited in LibreOffice.
>
If you are afraid of unaware data-loss on export, a warning (like the one on
"Save as"), could be added.

> UX-Team: If you disagree, please reopen.

Actually I disagree.
Just closing this provides no solution/improvement at all to my two very
real-world scenarios.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108492] Semantic markup

2017-06-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108492

My primary concern is with the formula editor. The symbols available for
formulae are largely glyphs rather than abstract mathematical objects. Missing
are symbols with the explicit semantics of, e.g., function composition, group
multiplications.

Were this available, I would expect that multiple symbols would be rendered
with the same glyp.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated some days ago, I could
reproduce this (gen rendering).
I got this bt:
#0 0x0031 in ?? ()
#1  0x7fffef7e74e0 in sdr::event::TimerEventHandler::Invoke
(this=0x5bc8dd10) at
/home/julien/lo/libreoffice/svx/source/sdr/event/eventhandler.cxx:113
#2  0x7fffec8ae81b in ImplSchedulerData::Invoke (this=0x5ba75320) at

#3  0x7fffec8aec7b in Scheduler::ProcessTaskScheduling (bIdle=true) at
/home/julien/lo/libreoffice/vcl/source/app/scheduler.cxx:159

The weird thing is I got a crash just opening and selecting the image (so
without changing slide) with gtk3 rendering.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108623] New: EDITING: More and more cpu power is needed while typing a document ( without any assistance Autocorrect/Spell Checking)

2017-06-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108623

Bug ID: 108623
Summary: EDITING: More and more cpu power is needed while
typing a document (without any assistance
Autocorrect/Spell Checking)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl

Description:
It's a bit of nitpick, but I'm still wondering what's where all the CPU power
is going while typing plain text with every writing assistance I know of
disabled.

While typing normal words fast the CPU is in a range of 0,78 - 1,15% (LibO
5.4.0.0b2). Mostly hitting 1,15%
When doing the same with LibO 3.5.7.2 or 4.3.7.1 the range is 0,38-0,78 (mostly
0,78)
Going back to LibO3.0.0. CPU usage is mostly is in a range 0,0 and 0,38%

Doing the same by typing gibberish makes it worse way worse (3.8% - 6.00% with
LibO5.4.0.0.b2)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a build without dictionary's
2. Disable Autocorrect while typing (Tools -> Autocorrect)
3. Options -> Language Settings -> Disable writing aids
4. Open Process Explorer
5. Start typing into an empty document. Play with the keyboard: Press random
letters with combined with spaces and enters. Monitor CPU usage. Typing regular
words is also an option when typing quickly

Actual Results:
More and more CPU cycles are needed for just plain typing.

Expected Results:
Most ideally the same behavior as with 3.0.0

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm this on Windows 10.
It seems that this misbehaviour of Ctrl+Tab only happens, when one tries to get
to the next form starting from a tablegrid. It works fine when starting from a
single field, eg. a text field, a formatted field, a combo box or a check box.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108434] writer and base bugs

2017-06-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108434

I have investigated my Writer problem an Base problems further in both Win10
and Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS.

I am reporting that I had a Win10 automatic update after I submitted my initial
bug report.

I am using LibreOffice 5.1.6.2 in Ubuntu Linux and LibreOffice 5.3.3.2 in
Win10.

The problems I previously described with BASE seems to have gone away in both
the Linux and win10 systems

But the Writer problem still exists in both the Linux an win10 systems.

Any dash line the I make with the repeated dash keystroke cannot be simply
deleted

I can only remove the dash line by going to the format menu and using the
"clear direct formatting" selection.

I hope that this problem can be corrected

Thanks for your help with this matter

Thanks for the comment. I am very happy to make the document more widely
available on the Wiki or design blog. I don't have my own blog and am not

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108622] New: EDITING: Auto-correct while typing keeps trying access acor_und.dat and acor_en.dat

2017-06-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108622

Bug ID: 108622
Summary: EDITING: Auto-correct while typing keeps trying access
acor_und.dat and acor_en.dat
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.beta2
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl

Description:
When auto-correct while typing is activated, auto-correct while typing keeps
trying to access acor_und.dat and acor_en.dat (or acor_nl.dat with dutch
language).
It's creating unnecessary reads and is consuming a some CPU power (0,50%) while
typing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download and launch Process Monitor and set the filter for soffice.bin.
Disable capture until everything is set up.
2. Open Writer
3. Disable automatic spell checking
4. Disable Writing aids (Options -> Language settings -> Writing aids (just a
precaution)
5. Check if Autocorrect is enabled while typing. Menu Tools -> Autocorrect
6. Enable capture in Process Monitor
7. Start typing a few lines of text (not holding one key; just type something).

Actual Results:
LibO constantly tries to to read two non-existing files: acor_en.dat and
acor_und.dat

Expected Results:
Shouldn't do that.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de

Created attachment 134112
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=134112=edit
Open the database. Switch trough the form with CTRL+Tab as described.

Open the attached database. Macros could be ignored.
Open the form.
Cursor is set to first tablecontrol, "id1".
Press CTRL+Tab.
Cursor moves to second tablecontrol, "id2".
Press CTRL+Tab.
Nothing changes any more. You could press CTRL+Tab as much as you want ...

Close the form.
Open the form for editing, not for input data.
Switch design-mode off.
You could see data now. Cursor is set to first tablecontrol.
Now do the same as above.
Pressing CTRL+Tab moves the cursor from first tablecontrol to second
tablecontrol to third tablecontrol to fourth tablecontrol and when arriving the
first tablecontrol again it is set to next row.

CTRL+Tab only works right when form is opened for editing and design-mode is
switched off.
CTRL+Tab is buggy when form is opened for input data.

I confirm this behaviour with LO 5.4.0.0beta2.

I agree, that this behaviour is inconsistent, but I also think, that in some
cases this might be the result users want to get. But there are other cases,
where it makes more sense, that the space is in white colour. So what would be
a good solution?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108616] Not saving

2017-06-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108616

I cleared the user profile and it continued to do this. Another piece to this -
I was saving using the ODT format.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program. I was able to get the file to
save changes using the Word docx format.

I have had a number of problems with saving with this product since I started
using it and cannot begin to tell you how much time I've wasted trying to
recreate really good text and ideas. All lost because it didn't save.

Very discouraged.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108618] New: Paragraph spacing not workign correctly

2017-06-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108618

Bug ID: 108618
Summary: Paragraph spacing not workign correctly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dennisroc...@libreoffice.org

Created attachment 134110
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=134110=edit
problematic document

Hi everybody,

sorry title might be confusing.

A bit background: the file was original created with Pages; edited with
LibreOffice, saved as docx and finally as ODT.

I have removed some sensitive stuff; using regex [a-zA-Z0-9] and replacing it
with i fixes somehow the problem (at least what i believe).

At page 3 remove the new line before the bold "S:" and hit enter. Now
"Microebene:" is also on page 3, although the whole paragraph has enough space
at page 2! That drive me nuts so i have recreated the short document for the
person.

Beside the fact that the file was saved and opened in multiple applications and
formats: Is that a user problem (styles?) or is that an import problem (pages
--> odt conversation) or is that a general problem / bug?

Libre office crashes during cut and paste of the cells CF4 -> BX400 on the
first Sheet.

Probably, the problem depends on the functions on the second sheet. The
deletion of the second sheet prevent Calc from crashing.

Copy and pasting for the same cells did not commit the crash.

Curiously, cut and paste CF4 -> BX399 makes no problems and prevents from
further crashing on CF4 -> BX400

May be the title of the present bug could be changed to something more explicit
