Where is this discussion? I found some references to these table "templates"
but nothing about why they are not styles, etc.

If this issue is indeed unsolved, then should this bug stay new?

Description:
Thanks for the good software.  I'm glad I donate.  
Happens after reboot of program.
Happens after uninstall of older or newer versions of LO.
Happens after safe mode restart

HARDWARE - Imac 2011 OSX 10.10.2 Yosemite.  Has happened on my 2009 iMac and
OSX 10.6.8 as I recall but less so. 

Lang pref set to English (USA)
In an existing doc, Tools > Spell check dialogue pauses and populates the box
with English (USA).  After first use, lang dictionary defaults to French.  If I
continue clicking to spell check, then it cycles to German, Dutch or Italian
and then back to English.  No definite pattern here of how many goofs before
gets back to English.  Only one English then cycles thru these other
dictionaries.  

In the past this only happened occasionally.  Today, happening exclusively,
every time, for the first time

Forums suggest no way exists to delete unwanted foreign dictionaries.  

Actual Results:  
spell checker disabled making LO mostly useless for writing.

Expected Results:
Restarting in safe mode and deleting user profile created no change in the
problem. 


Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: yes. Tried today. The safe mode screen does NOT display
RESTART until several choices in.  Not good.

Description:
If you are reading a long document, and save it either explicitly or view an
autosave, the view will jump to where the cursor is. If this is a different
page then this is very disruptive.

This seems different to similar issues reported elsewhere as there is no TOC,
index or tables in the document I'm editing, and it happens regardless of where
the cursor is (body text, bulleted list, footnote, etc).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load or create a document with sufficient length that it is not all visible
in a single view.
2. Place the cursor anywhere.
3. Scroll the view so that the cursor is towards the edge of the view or
outside the view.
4. Either save the document or wait for autosave.

Actual Results:  
The view jumps to the cursor location.

Expected Results:
The view does not change.

I don't think that's what AutoUpdate means, both based on the tooltip and
actual experience. Rather, that check box is affects whether the style should
be updated from direct formatting /without even pressing the update button or
using the style dialog/.

The new UI is misleading. Actually it is not a table-"style" but a
table-"template". That means, that the information is used when a table is
created or the template is explicitly assigned. The table contains a copy of
the settings given by the template as direct formatting.

There is an ongoing discussion, about these table-"styles". Especially as there
exist different concepts in Writer, Draw/Impress and Calc, which need to be
consolidated.

You are misguided, this is about selecting a cell range with the cursor keys
once the parameter input field is in reference input mode.

I'm not even sure if that is possible given that the input field is editable as
well and can be travelled using the cursor and even portions selected with
Shift+Cursor.

It happens only if "Automatically find column and row labels" is switched on
under Tools -> Options -> Calc -> Calculate, and cell content Alice happens to
be at a cell position that can be taken as a label. But that's the same when
entering the formula and not related to the Function Wizard. As that Auto-Label
thing can be very confusing and doing more harm than benefit the default is
switched off in newer installations.

If switched off the content Alice just stays as entered in the formula,
unquoted.

Note that space of the upper red box may be used by function parameter
descriptions, which can be much longer than in the screenshot example,
specifically when translated, eg. to Finnish..
For example take a look at the POISSON function the third Cumulative parameter.

The space of the lower red box indeed seems to be unused (or I didn't find what
for).

Benefit of resizing can be overview of the Structure page for more complicated
formula expressions. Would be nice though if the width of that left pane could
also be resized..

I can reproduce the behaviour you describe. But I don't think, that this is a
bug. If you change a certain paragraph style, you have to enable "AutoUpdate",
in order to change all paragraphs using that style. But "AutoUpdate" is
disabled by default. So I think that is the same with table styles.

So my suggestion is NOTABUG. If you don't agree please change it back to
UNCONFIRMED.

It's neither nor, you also don't need to enter it as array formula, but then it
depends on the position context. If not an array formula, whether the result is
#VALUE! depends on where (which cell) the formula is entered. What
=INDEX(A1:C3,1) does is it returns the cell range A1:C1, if not in array
context the implicit intersection of the formula position with the range is
taken as usual, this is the same as in =A1:C1, so if the formula is anywhere in
columns A:C then the value of row 1 in that column is the result, in any other
column the  result is #VALUE! because there is no intersection with A1:C1.

Entered as array formula the result is an array with values of A1:C1, which can
be entered on any cell position, e.g. the same as {=A1:C1}

All this is normal cell range evaluation behaviour regarding scalar/array
context and not specific to the INDEX() function.

In the attached screenshot examples only results BLUE and RED work because only
for those the formula expression can determine exactly one cell.

Use hardware acceleration: yes
Use anti-aliasing: yes
Use OpenGL for all rendering: no

subpixel antialiasing is back and looks as good as ever. There's more
flickering when, for example, menu items are highlighted though.

when "Use OpenGL for all rendering" is switched to "yes", subpixel antialiasing
disappears, greyscale antialiasing is used instead. Text sharpness in OpenGL
mode is *still* better than it used to be in 5.3.2.x, but, obviously, worse
than what subpixel antialiasing provides. Looks like it's a feature that we're
going to be stuck with for the rest of our lives - either fast GL rendering, or
sharp text, but not both.

Note: don't make any changes to the document during repro, in that case there
is a save dialog and LO exits fine after making a choice, but if it's an
empty/unchanged document, the shutdown process is not proper.

In Windows, log off with a LibreOffice instance running (with a file or at
least an empty document open).
After logging back in, start LO again.

=> LO opens with recovery dialog, meaning it didn't exit properly.
Alternatively, before starting LO look in the user profile directory, and note
the lock file (named ".lock") there, implying the same.

While it's true Windows forcibly shuts down applications refusing to exit after
a while when ending a user session, LO closes right away, but not cleanly. We
should make an attempt at shutting down properly.

Observed using LO 5.4.0.1 / Windows 7.

The 5.4.0.2 rc is posted to the prerelease server for any interested. Corrected
DirectWrite rendering is evident, it functions correctly on Win8, 8.1 and 10.
But users on XP and Vista may not see much change.

We are interested in what Win7 users report.  

Side-by-side screen clips 5.4.0.1 and earlier vs. 5.4.0.2 and later in
different rendering modes (OpenGL, GPU, CPU with and without anti-aliasing)
appreciated when critiquing.

/usr/lib/libreoffice/presets/config)

Description:
Even though the style menu is not available, it appears to be possible to
modify table styles by changing the formatting of an existing table and
clicking the "Update Style" button on the sidebar. However, the changes do not
affect other existing tables -- the style must be reapplied to every single
one.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create two or more tables with the same style
2. Modify one table's background or borders
3. Click "Update Style" in the Table Style tab

Actual Results:  
Other tables with same style unaffected

Expected Results:
All tables with said style change

- make commit A: read loext:footer-first
- make commit B: write loext-footer-first

Push these to master, and backport commit A to active release branches (but not

This was introduced in commit 7ac60704206d229b45dd002ca3b9d70c4c64034e as part
of the original first page header work in LibreOffice 4.0.

The corresponding behaviour exists for 

One consequence of changing LibreOffice to emit  will be
that ODT files created in LibreOffice 6.0+ with first page headers will not be
correctly read by earlier LibreOffice versions.  Is this acceptable?

I have the rulers on, but they are scanned documents and thus they have white
margins (not easily visible while resizing by hand, and they often go beyond
the page).

It would be great if LO could have this feature.

Hello, I tried release 5.4.0.2 yesterday, with all possible combinations of
hardware acceleration, openGL and anti-alias option, but the meno fonts

As you can see in the screen shot, the comment box is positioned such that the
last part of the comment is off the bottom of the screen. There is no obvious
way to move the comment box up to view the entire comment. Instead, I clicked
on modify comment just so I can read it.

Bisecting it with bibisect-releases it started crashing at 5.1.0.1 for
non-debug builds on linux.
I guess the behaviour is different among Window, Linux and debug/non-debug
builds...
