When opened in desktop LibreOffice, the comments are moved up to fit since
there's enough space above.
If the comments occupy more than the space beside the page, then the size of
comment boxes are evenly reduced so they fit along the page.

LibreOffice does not detect slide layout in PPT presentations - all slides get
layout "Blank slide".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a ppt presentation in MS PowerPoint using different slide layouts -
or take, let's say,
http://www.ieee-pes.org/images/files/ppt/PES-PPT-Template/2010-PES-PPT-Template-v97-03.ppt
2. Open it using LibreOffice.
3. Open "Properties" sidebar.
4. Go through slides.

Actual Results:  
All slides have been assigned the "Blank slide" slide layout.

Expected Results:
Slides should have the same (or corresponding) slide layout as in the MS
PowerPoint (in the example the first slide in MS Powerpoint has layout "Title
slide", the second slide has layout "Title and Content").

I'd personally be all for this, just because it's more modern/future-proof, yet
only requires an update in Win7 (the update itself is from 2013, so it's
reasonable to expect systems to have it).

My questions:
- What happens if someone tries to run such an application on a Win7 without
platform update? (I guess this could be tested)
- Is it possible to show an error dialog with meaningful information in that
case? (eg. This application requires MS KB2670838 to run, update your system
and try again.)

Open document http://www.teletruth.org/docs/belldata.doc (also attached).

The document looks quite nice when opened in LibreOffice, but the layout in
certain tables isn't the same as in Word, the rows are too tall.
For example:
- Exhibit 3 (p21),
- Exhibit 4 (p22), partly because a few numbers don't fit in the cell, but that
doesn't explain all the rows,
- Exhibit 7 (p24).

Observed with LO 5.4.0.2, 3.6.0.4 / Windows 7.
Crashes with 3.3.0 and 3.5.0.3, though I could get to one of the tables in
3.3.0 once, and it seemed to have the correct size there.

I tried cutting down the document to a single table, but after it's saved in
Word 2013 it shows correctly in LO, so there might be a slight difference the
way it was saved in an older version.

Description:
Libreoffice writer fails to 'undo' deletion of fieldmarks

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a document with multiple fieldmarks in the same editable area
2. Highlight a fieldmark at the end and delete it
3. Use ctrl+z to undo the changes

Actual Results:  
The field mark is not fully recreated/rerendered.

Variations on this lead to the field mark being rendered with '!!br0ken!!'' or
even a crash (haven't quite pinned down the reproduce steps for that)

Expected Results:
The field mark is fully recreated

Using Libre Office 5.2.7.2 and 5.3.2.4, I was trying to print labels in mail
merge and I tried on two different computers When going to the Mail Merge, it
would go to page 4 but not skip page 5 and go on to page 6. Clicking the NEXT
button would not do anything. Finish gave me the label sheet but only with the
Field info and not the information from the data base. Viewing the Data
information showed the right source. Tried from a few different data bases but
with the same results. I downloaded Open Office 4.1 and printed the labels with
ho problem. I had used Open Office before but had changed over to Libre Office.
I am disappointed that I could print labels by Mail Merge in Open Office but
not Libre Office.

In my view, there would be no users who would want the cell border to cut
through the text (aka the current behaviour). If a user doesnt like the current
behaviour, they have the ability to manually set how they want the text to
appear (e.g. merge, wrap), but doubt we want to set a document level option for
what it should do in this circumstance. I'll let Eike give his opinion on this
document level option?

We currently hide the border when you are typing in a blank cell or in edit
mode (F2), so logic is already present for this behaviour.

This happens in Excel, Calligra Sheets, Gnumeric, Google Sheets, and Quattro
Pro[1], so i would assume its not out of bounds of what a spreadsheet should
do, especially when it improves UX.

[1] If there is no assigned border, it will remove the grid border, but if
there is a border, it will trim the text and show the border

Michael, regarding the first stage, is it possible that the scheduler change
had an impact on the order how UI components were initialized, which might not
have been specified properly, and so the focus ended up in a different
component? (or it is caused by a misconfiguration that surfaced here?)

The second stage is caused by the backport of the following commit from 5.2.
This one is only configuration, so again it seems the issue is elsewhere...

At this point having pulled the plug on XP and Vista, should we push forward at
6.0 and instead set the minimum supported Windows OS to 7 SP1 with "Platform
update (MS KB2670838)" [2] applied and supporting use of the "new" DWRITE
enumeration/syntax and DirectX 11.1? [3].

Guess we have to keep the old enumeration/syntax for 5.4, and backport to 5.3,
but would this help for eventualy moving rendering away from GDI, and also for
refining OpenGL rendering?

Description:
My OS is Linux Mint 17.3. The database I use is the built-in one. The
database-file is stored on a NAS, I use it since years with no
(program-)changes in the last months.
Since some days, LO crashes immediately when I try to execute a report (doesn't
matter which one). The report is displayed on a LO-writer document.
I also installed LO 5.3.4 with the same result.
With an other computer, also with Linux Mint 17.3, but a 64bit-system, and the
same version of LO, there is no problem to execute the reports.
May it be a problem with JAVA? I installed version 8.0, due to a German tax
application.
All other functions used are ok.

When you insert in a sheet a button, the label is still aligned on the left
when you reopen your file.

- Create a button
- Define the alignment of the label in the middle or in the right of the button
- Save your file
- Reopen your file

I'm having problems web scraping https sites using LibreOffice python. I have
Libreoffice 5.3.4.2 (x86) on Windows 7, and can demonstrate the problem with
this simple script:

import urllib.request
myUrl = 'https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/questions/'
hdr = {'User-Agent': 'Mozilla/5.0'}
req = urllib.request.Request(url=myUrl, headers=hdr)
response = urllib.request.urlopen(req)

This fails immediately with "urlopen error unknown url type: https". It works
fine with an http url, but fails with any https url.

I tried the above in a LibreOffice Calc document with this embedded script and
it failed. It also failed when I tried running it in a terminal window from
C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 5\program\python-core-3.3.0\bin\python.exe

The script works fine with my standalone Python 3.3.2 running from a terminal
window.

I've also tried various LibreOffice Portable installations I have:

4.0.2.2: Works OK
5.3.1.2: Fails
5.3.2.2: Fails
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling 5.3.4.2 more times than I can count
and cannot get it to work. Yet installing it on Windows 10 on the same PC using
a VM machine, it works fine.

I tried the Safe Mode in LibreOffice 5 and the script works fine. Went back to
normal mode and it failed again. Uninstalled LibreOffice 5.4.3.2 and then
deleted everything I could find relating to LibreOffice. Reinstalled 5.4.3.2
x86 and the behaviour is unchanged... works OK in Safe Mode and fails in normal
mode.

I did find a fix/workaround:

I renamed _ssl.pyd in C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice
5\program\python-core-3.3.0\lib\ to _ssl.pyd(old).

I then copied _ssl.pyd from my standalone Python installation at C:\Program
Files (x86)\Python\DLLs\ and pasted it into the above folder.

LibreOffice now works OK, even though the original _ssl.pyd was just 48kB and
the replacement is 1162kB so they are very different.

Any idea why I am getting this problem on Windows 7?

FYI, if you delete all defined Names... (named ranges) and save, they are
recreated automatically at next opening of the file, one by one... duplicate of
each others... after consecutive save/opening...

I've got the drop down list toolbar control enhancement part working. 

Looking into updating the small navigation box item checked and label when
navigation element is changed in the toolbar control and vice versa.

Also to make ScrollToPrevious and ScrollToNext controls quick help change in
relation to navigation element selected instead of generic 'Previous Element',
'Next Element' messages.

Hi,

Here is the scenario leading to bug...

01. Open new workbook and create a simple table with header columns
02. Rename the sheet: e.g 'Product Sheet'
03. Save file as in XLSX format 
04. Close file
05. Re-open file
06. Above sheet, in cell name selection box (on the top left), select 'Manage
Names...' ==> no named ranges defined
07. Activate Data > AutoFilter
08. Above sheet, in cell name selection box (on the top left), select 'Manage
Names...' ==> no named ranges defined
09. Save file (keep XSLX format if prompted)
10. Close file
11. Re-open file
12. Above sheet, in cell name selection box (on the top left), select 'Manage
Names...' ==> a new named range now appear as defined in the list. 1 in total
listed.
09. Save file (keep XSLX format if prompted)
10. Close file
11. Re-open file
12. Above sheet, in cell name selection box (on the top left), select 'Manage
Names...' ==> another new named range (same as above but suffixed with _0) now
appear as defined. 2 in total listed.
13. If you keep repeating 09,10,11 new range keep being defined and added...
14. Close file
15. Open file in Excel 2016, it will chock on the file saying it is corrupted!
With inability to repair it... most likely because various named range refer to
the same range...

This seems to be a major compatibility issue...

May be related to bug 109144 (FILESAVE XLSX: Resaving file with autofilter on
conditional formatting results in invalid XLSX) ...

Make a text with paragraphs in style "Text body" and headings in style "Heading
1". Go to menu Tools > Chapter Numbering (former Outline Numbering). Go to tab
"Numbering". Mark "1" in list "Level". Make sure "Heading 1" is chosen in
drop-down-list "Paragraph style". Select item "A, B, C" from drop-down-list
"Number". OK
Now your heading should be numbered with A, B, C.

When you use "Ctrl+Enter" a paragraph is inserted, which has the same paragraph
style as the paragraph has, where the cursor stood, when you have inserted the
page break. In this case, the new paragraph gets the paragraph style "Heading
1". And because this paragraph style is assigned to outline level 1 numbering,
it should get a number.

If you save the faulty document, you can see, that the new paragraph has got a
wrong paragraph style. It should have got a reference to "Heading 1". But it
has got a reference to a new automatic style and this automatic style has
erroneously got an attribute style:list-style-name="", which prevents
numbering.

Im a Java developer and working with Apache POI to generate xls and xlsx
documents. When the row height is set to -1, you get exactly the
undefined/default row height behaviour.

In every MS Office Version, you have the behaviour wenn row height is set to -1
to autosize the row height.
