Since the hooks would need something in LO > itself, I'm restoring this report's status. Way out of scope for the way our bundled dictionaries/thesaurus are produced and maintained. Have a look at the Hunspell, and Lightproof projects and restrictions on how word lists can be altered. The "User-defined dictionaries" model Heiko described provides framework for customized (individually or by some collaborative work group) lexical aids without imposing a non-maintainable data structure of alternates. Presently the LanguageTool.org project provided extension supports rules based checking--one can write their own for their custom dictionary needs. If the Grammarly project ever spins up an extension for AOO/LO that would be a treat for using its "context-optimized word choice" but again these are extensions and not something applicable to LibreOffice core, and hooks extension authors need for GUI interface are provided in the SDK. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107166] Text is invisible, both in UI and in editor on update to 5.3.2, older AMD and Intel GPUs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107166 --- Comment #101 from V Stuart Foote--- (In reply to Philippe_E from comment #98) > I tested the graphics card on "dynamic": LibreOffice 6 and 5.3.4.2 are both > without text. > I then restored the card to 'Fixed' in the bios: LibreOffice 6 and 5.3.4.2 > have found their texts. @Philippe, So when in FIXED mode, which of the GPUs renders correctly? The AMD HD6770M or the Intel HD3000, and what driver version(s). A run of dxdiag.exe should show where things are set now. With heat issues suspect it may be the AMD, but it could be the Intel on CPU die. Also, FIXED mode should only have been needed to do the driver updates. Now you should be able to again use Dynamic mode, but use the Catalyst GUI to force the soffice.exe to run with either "supported" GPU. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90006] spellcheck to indicate a spelling as rare thus usage to be confirmed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90006 Nick Levinsonchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|NEW Resolution|WORKSFORME |--- --- Comment #5 from Nick Levinson --- No, that's the wrong use case. I'm not talking about erroneous spellings but about correct-but-rare spellings that probably don't belong in current contexts. In those cases, users should be asked to confirm that they intend to use the spelling that's present. Most of the time, they'll see it as an error and correct it, but, because the spelling is sometimes (rarely) correct, they'll sometimes want to leave it as is. I think this can be done by adding a Boolean (true/false) field to every entry in every dictionary. The default entry would be false (as in 'false spelling'). But if a user could supply a file of rare-but-correct spellings or could edit a single entry, the status of true would mean 'true spelling albeit rare'. That leaves how the UI should inform users of likely-misapplied rare spellings. An extension would seem appropriate for the UI once the rarities are recognizable but probably not to the necessary hooks in LibreOffice, especially the additional field. Since the hooks would need something in LO itself, I'm restoring this report's status. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The other two links are to the OpenOffice forum, not to any bug tracker. I don't see how we could possible debate about whether this should be a bug submission or a feature request. There is a check-box about this in Options, that lets the user decide whether LibreOffice should store the relative or the absolute path of the reference. This check-box is well documented inside Help, as stated by m.a.riosv above. There is no "poor design choice" (BTW, the exact phrase at the tutorial's point 6 was "not good programming"), something doesn't work and needs to be reported in order to be fixed. It's a serious bug, in my opinion, because it prevents people from using LibreOffice the way that the tutorial you mentioned does. The workaround provided by the tutorial at point 6 is not good enough, because it "requires a setup in user's machine, not just a file copying", as I stated in my description. I'm reverting this to "bug", instead of "RFE". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Method to reproduce 1. Create a new text document in Writer 2. Enter three lines of text, eg **Paragraph one of text \Paragraph two of text \Paragraph three of text** 3. Use the mouse or keyboard to highlight the first line of text. 4. Use the mouse to drag the first line to the start of the third line. Before dropping the text, press and hold the key. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109274] Page properties tools (margins, orientation, columns, page size) controls only in Sidepanel, missing in Toolbars commands
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109274 V Stuart Footechanged: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Resolution|--- |WONTFIX --- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote --- At 5.3 those Page controls were dropped from the Sidebar's Properties deck and a new Page deck with droplists was implemented. As to placing them by default on an existing toolbar, Tools -> Customize -> Toolbars already provides the needed controls from the Format category. Page Settings Orientation Page Margin Columns Can add them to the toolbar if one prefers. Otherwise no reason to clutter any of the toolbar defaults as the menu, context menu, and Sidebar Page deck all cover this formatting. Currently the Page Settings control has no Icon associated, it launches the Page Style dialog landing on the Page tab's Paper Format. So rather than "Page Settings" there should be an alternate UNO command that would be a better choice for setting Page paper format/size as was done from the 5.2 Properties deck's "Page" content panel--or as now from the Page deck's Format content panel: Size droplist. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Several forums suggest the AMD 12-10 Catalyst mobility driver for the 6700M will update the HP HD6770M instance =-ref-= This gives a step-by-step https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/GUIDE-Update-AMD-Mobility-Radeon-drivers-to-fix-graphics/td-p/1406655 Follow the HP guidance for updating BIOS and set FIXED GPU mode (to use the AMD chip while doing the driver update) for your dv6 model here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02948560 Then here are the download links for the 12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4 for 6700M: For 32 bit: http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe For 64 bit: http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe YMMV but that should get you off the 8.882.2.3000 to at least test. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109269 Bug ID: 109269 Summary: very slow loading of dictionary word list Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Linguistic Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ba...@quipo.it Created attachment 134780 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=134780=edit put this file in the "wordbook" subfolder of the user profile loading the word list of a "user-defined dictionary" has always been quite slow since OOo era. considering the small size and limited amout of data in those dictionary files, it looks to me the LibO is underperforming and needs improvement. this issue is noticeable when you deal with relatively large files like the one I attached (so you need that one to retest). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1- put the attached "standard.dic" under the "wordbook" subfolder of your user profile 2- open a Writer document 3- click on "Tools/Options/Language Settings/Writing Aids" 4- select "standard" in the "User-defined dictionaries" field and click "Edit…" 5- measure the time needed to display the word list EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR the word list should be displayed immediately of just in a few seconds CURRENT BEHAVIOUR LibO hangs and takes 13 seconds to display the whole list. TESTED UNDER: Windows XP 32bit, 7 64bit and 8.1 64 bit. reproducible with old OOo releases and Libo since 3.3.0 till current 5.3.4.2 and recent 6.0.0.0 alpha daily builds. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109268] New: Combining Cyrillic characters overlap when placed above each other e.g. лⷣ҇
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109268 Bug ID: 109268 Summary: Combining Cyrillic characters overlap when placed above each other e.g. лⷣ҇ Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: francisbutle...@gmail.com Description: In earlier versions (through 5.2?), when I typed multiple combining Cyrillic characters over regular Cyrillic characters in an Old East Slavic text that I am editing, the characters would be visible as a stack (the regular character below, the first combining character above it, and the second combining character above the first). Now when I type the same way the combining characters overlap with each other. (I initially switched to LibreOffice because in Microsoft Word combining characters overlapped each other as they now do in LibreOffice). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter any standard Cyrillic character (I use the font Bukyvede, which has many rare characters.) 2. Enter one combining Cyrillic character above the first one. (I typically use a small combining letter, e.g. ⷮ . (I use PopChar to enter letters with no keyboard equivalent.) 3. Enter a second combining Cyrillic character (typically ҇ )above the first one. Actual Results: Combining characters overlap each other above standard character Expected Results: First combining character appears above standard character; second combining character appears above first combining character. (I do not mind if the higher character interferes with the line of print above it; the solution is to make a greater space between lines.) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: While this problem may affect only a small number of users, it is a major problem for anyone attempting to reproduce an Early Slavic text. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107355] Slow spreadsheet redraw speed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107355 --- Comment #12 from luispdecarva...@yahoo.com --- This bug appeared at the same time this "feature" where the whole user interface gets anti-aliased and no option will change that. All redraw is super slow compared to non-anti-aliased version (5.3.1.2 ? and confirmed with portable 5.2.7.2), especially so in big files. Enabling Hardware acceleration and OpenGL seem to alleviate a bit of this slowness but still very slow. When I press a menu option I can see the grey rectangle before the text appears on top, this didn't happen in previous versions. In some sheets I can see each cell's format being changed one by one. Disabling auto-correct etc doesn't help. I can confirm this problem in 5.3.3.2 x64 Windows 8.1, the previously installed version didn't suffer from this but can't remember which version it was (is there a cumulative LO install log?) UPDATE: Just installed 5.3.4.2 x64 and it looks almost as fast as 5.2.7.2. Still some anti-aliasing going on (perhaps an OpenGL option in the driver?) and OpenGL is in use although tickbox is deselected on restart as reported in https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108533 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109266] New: EDITING: Record Changes feature does not record changes to letter case with Shift+F3 , 'Cycle Case', 'tOGGLE cASE' shortcuts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109266 Bug ID: 109266 Summary: EDITING: Record Changes feature does not record changes to letter case with Shift+F3, 'Cycle Case', 'tOGGLE cASE' shortcuts Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.2.5.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: br...@osdinitiatives.com Description: Using Shift+F3 or the corresponding toolbar shortcuts changes the letter case correctly, however these changes are not properly recognized as changes made by the user and recorded. If a word has been changed from lower to uppercase manually, the original letters are struck out and the new ones added and underlined. If the upper and lowercase letter are selected and UPPERCASED with the shortcut function, all the lowercase struck-out letters will be uppercased. Steps to Reproduce: Example 1 1. Type "sample" into a new document. 2. Activate 'Record Changes'. 3. Select 'm'. 4. Format > Text > UPPERCASE. Example 2 1. Type "sample" into a new document. 2. Activate 'Record Changes'. 3. Select 'm'. 4. Type 'M'. 5. Select "SamMple". 5. Format > Text > UPPERCASE. Actual Results: Example 1 "saMple" But without the colored/struck-out lowercase m and uppercase M is not colored/underlined. Example 2 "SAMMPLE" What should be 'm' and the following 'M' still have the correct decoration indicating the recorded changes but the first 'm' is now uppercase. The rest of the letters do not have the proper decoration. Rejecting the change results in "SAMPLE". Expected Results: Example 1 "samMple" (m colored and struck-out, M colored and underlined) Example 2 "samMple" (m colored and struck-out, M colored and underlined) then "sampleSAMPLE" ("sample" colored and struck-out, "SAMPLE" colored and underlined) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No It also happens on a different computer. Additional Info: The same inconsistent behavior happens with text tables and in Calc spreadsheets cells. The changes act the same through undo/redo cycles. The info box that pops up when hovering over a changed spreadsheet cell also shows the same incorrect information. This behavior changes depending weather I select the cell and change the case or double click then select just the text and change the case. It looks like the program doesn't consider changes made by the Change Case functions to be done by the user, so they are not recorded when they should be. May be related to Bug 106380.
