I reproduce the problem with LO 5.4.1.0.0+ built at home under Ubuntu 16.04
x86-64, but not with LO 5.3.4 provided by Ubuntu. Please, could you confirm
that it works for you as expected with the 5.3 branch ?

Setting as NEW anyway.

You can already do that, add left none at the beinning of your formula:

left none partial over { partial x^i } right lline _p 

You can use "right none" if you need only the left side. It works for other
types of brackets.

hello again.
today i downloaded and tested version 5.4.0.3 and the issue is still persist.
the only solution for reading messages and dialog boxes of libreoffice 5.3 and
5.4 is using object navigation of nvda, which i could not learn and not
comfortable with it.
i only can use screen review.

hello.
today i downloaded libreoffice 5.4.0.3
using geek uninstaller, completely uninstalled libreoffice and removed registry
entries.
but calc is still unusable for me using version 5.4.0!
nvda says path of file with many extra information, not content of cells!

Hi guys. LibreOffice crashes often when closing. It was after File -> Close of
my opened presentation file which completed without error (as far as I can
tell). Then on File -> Exit LibreOffice the crash happened. It did the crash
report and restarted as expected (as far as I can tell).

Otherwise there was nothing special I noticed.

After some more testing, it seems that if you select the box with a validity
set and hover over the lower right hand corner so that the mouse becomes cross
hairs but are very close to the drop down button, when clicking the drop down
will appear and the mouse will stay as the cross hair and no longer function.

After creating the test file it is not as repeatable as yesterday. It worked as
expected for a few times then locked up just the same. I checked the file that
I discovered the issue with and it worked at first as well.

Creating a new file from scratch did not show the problem at first. The problem
arose after multiple attempts at dragging the box different directions.

Description:
It is frequently required to use a single ended bracket such as a brace or
line, but the formula editor requires you to use brackets in pairs, which
changes the meaning. For example to indicate a function evaluated at a point
use a single line to the right followed by the point variable in subscript.
Currently this is not possible. Doing anything in bra-ket notation is not
possible. 

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open formula editor
2. Try to create a single ended bracket such as ...  partial over { partial x^i
} right lline _p
3. Drop head to desk

Actual Results:  
The entire formula gets messed up if you dont include both brackets.

Expected Results:
We need a single sided bracket, any type of bracket, any side, anywhere. The
insistence on brackets appearing in pairs makes an invalid assumption that they
should (notationally) always be paired (try doing anything in bra-ket notation
for example).


Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Although only one bracket will want to be displayed, the interpreter still
needs to pair these off as they are required to scale. A couple of options for
this could be

1. Begin with the declaration of the bracket that should appear to the right
single right lline { partial over { partial x^i }} _p

2. Another might be to write them both but hide the first
hidden left lline partial over { partial x^i } right lline  _p

3. Bra-ket notation is common enough to be given special treatment i.e. have
special constructs for these items

So checked MS Word and Google Docs and it behaves in what i would expect would
be the correct behaviour. Glad to see its a regression and lets see who changed
it and if it was intentional and what the reasoning for it was. Sad that is has
been broken for so long. We definitely need a test case for such a basic
feature.

The attached sample contains items with different formatting.

Examples:
- cloning from 1. to any other doesn't change anything,
- cloning from 2. to 3. adds bold to 3., but doesn't remove italic,
- cloning from 5. to any other only updates font size,
- cloning from 6. to any other only updates color.

The expectation is that the target has the exact same formatting in the end as
the source (as long as direct formatting is concerned).

If it's unclear for anyone, the issue is that if the formatting is the default,
it's not copied with the clone formatting tool.

This is actually a regression, it's working fine in 3.6.0.4, but not okay in
4.0.0.3

Test file.

In a basic macro with the following steps:

1) Load in hidden mode a calc file with a freeze pane and/or a splited window
2) Save the file

The view setting of the saved file (cell with cursor, freeze pane, splited
window) are lost. 

If the file is loaded not using the hidden mode the result is that view
settings remains in the saved file.

I have attached some files to test:

-Download the files "Test.odt" and "Test2.odt".
-Open the file "Test.odt" with the other file in same folder.
-Press the button "test file hidden".
-The file "Test2.odt" that has a sheet with a freeze pane and another sheet
with a splited window is loaded in hidden mode and then saved as "Test3.odt".
-The saved file is displayed.

The adjacent button test the same but not using the hidden mode.

I think it is not a bug, toolbar visibility depends on the context.

This toolbar is annoying you because you moved the standard toolbar on the left
side. You can do the following:
- move the navigation toolbar on the left side, below the standard toolbar
or
- move the standard toolbar to its default position.

disagree. in such a case, please argue.

Is really needed ? If Kotlin is fully interoperable with Java then it could be
possible to encapsulate Kotlin code in Java code and use it as is in a
LibreOffice plugin.

Maybe the total lenght is O/S related...

I retested on a Win7 x64 machine and result is:

5.3.4.2 -> 4 seconds 

6.0.0.0 → 10 seconds


Win8.1 x64 machine is:

Intel Core i7 959 @ 3.07Ghz
12 GB RAM
SSD disk

Win7 x64 machine in:

AMD A8-6410
8 GB RAM
SSD disk


so the same file and the same version of LibO are slower under Win8.1
anyway the performance drop between 5.3.x an 5.4.x is clear in either O/S

can you confirm it's slower in 5.4.x and 6.0.x compared to 5.3.x ?

There was a class of Ubuntu-related selection bugs: bug 104244 and bug 108453.
They were solved in Ubuntu 17.04. Maybe this is somehow of the same genre.

I think we should switch the status to worksforme now.

Indeed, it could be useful if the language was defined from the language of
selected word to be used in Auto-Correction.
That said, Auto-Correction dialog keep the language used previously, so,
currently, you have to change it only once.

In table properties you have an option to repeat the title row on each page.
You can set this option as default for all new table in Tools > Options >
LibreOffice Writer > Table
I think that is what you need.

I'm not sure if bisect is correct - in this commit is file broken in excel, so
I marked it like "bad". Likely repaired in follow-up commits, now excel doesn't
warn the file is broken. Markus, can this bug be related to your work on VBA
export? Thanks

handle different callers for vba export code
This now integrates it correctly with the XLS code, the XLSX one
requires a bit more work to copy the stream to the OOXML file.

No, the use case remains common that the template you choose to create a new
presentation with does not have the Slide master you want to use predefined. 

What then?  

The Master Page deck allows you to assign the slide a master from another
template--still quite functional and there is nothing in UI to replace that.

At the least, work flow for layout of a presentation to then use as a template
requires the deck's content pannels. Otherwise every slide master for a new
template starts from default.

Still on debian-stretch, I applied the patch on top of a local build
of commit 7ed404ba (2017-07-27 13:31 UTC), and LibreOffice now
politely shows the (minimal) contents of Module1.

Hidden group of shapes

Open attached xslx-document. It contains a group of rectangles. In this group
the shape "myRed" is set to be invisible. And the group itself is set to be
invisible.

On opening, the group is visible, only the shape "myRed" is invisible.
