Suspect Linux is confusing the issue for you with its fontconfig fallback handling. At 6.0 the Special Character dialog will be dropping the blank/undefined placeholders for the Unicode charts and packing glyphs into the charmap--as now visible glyphs will only be drawn from the droplist selected font. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112020] New: Insert Special Character arbitrarily restricts which characters in font can be inserted
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112020 Bug ID: 112020 Summary: Insert Special Character arbitrarily restricts which characters in font can be inserted Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: khanson...@gmail.com Description: There is no apparent logic to which characters appear. For example, choose Liberation Serif or OpenSymbol and navigate to General Punctuation. U+2022 BULLET is available, but the very next character, U+2023 TRIANGULAR BULLET, is not. Which characters appear also seems to depend on the font selected. For example, U+25B3 WHITE UP-POINTING TRIANGLE appears for OpenSymbol but not for Liberation Serif. I confirmed that the above mentioned characters exist in both fonts using a separate program, KCharSelect. I believe there are some other aspects of the Special Character dialog under discussion at the time of writing. Now would be a good time to fix this as well, since it seriously cripples the usefulness of the dialog. Steps to Reproduce: Search for an arbitrary character in an arbitrary font. Actual Results: All characters that exist in the font should be available. Expected Results: Some characters are missing, with no placeholder in the interface. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112019] New: Character style font set in Bullets and Numbering not respected for bullets
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112019 Bug ID: 112019 Summary: Character style font set in Bullets and Numbering not respected for bullets Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: khanson...@gmail.com Description: Most Bullets and Numbering types allow a character style to be chosen. "Bullets" is the default for bullets, but the bug seems to apply to all character styles. Font set in said character style is respected for numbering (1 2 3, a b c, etc.) , but not for bullets. Possibly the default OpenSymbol font is being hard-coded somewhere. This can be hard to tell for the stereotypical black bullet, but easier if you chose a different symbol that varies more between fonts. For example, U+25E6 WHITE BULLET (◦) has a little bit of space before and after it in OpenSymbol, which causes misalignment with U+2022 BULLET (•). I tried to switch to Noto Sans, where the spacing is the same for both U+25E6 WHITE BULLET and U+2022 BULLET, but there was no change. To make the lack of difference as overt as possible, pick a "shape" character such as a smiley face, and use that character both in the contents of the list and for the bullet, and choose the same font for both. Attributes other than font, such as font size and color seem to be respected. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert a bulleted list using either the toolbar or a list style 2. Choose any character for the bullet, and enter the same character (Insert -> Special Character) in the content of the list 3. Change the font of the default Bullets style, or choose a different character style altogether, to match the font of the surrounding text. Actual Results: The font of the bullets does not change. Expected Results: The font of the bullets should change. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112016] New: Calc Diagram rendered/ cached image not the same as current diagram picture
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112016 Bug ID: 112016 Summary: Calc Diagram rendered/cached image not the same as current diagram picture Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gstr1...@gmail.com Novadays I've noticed that a diagram's picture different in Calc screen as copy the pasted picture in writer. (not fuzzy or empty, it seems correct diagram but values were invalid on it.) My ods has 20 diagrams. Data of them are calculated by many functions on many sheets. I used to copy diagrams to writer odt document. When I noticed this thing I have made png-s by saving as html and I found 2 pngs from 20 which weere not the same as picure shown in calc for the same type diagram. Those pngs were the correct diagrams of a previous version of the current ods file. (this ods is reused annually with different data set) It means for me that diagrams (can) have saved pictures (image cache?) inside the ods and for some reason in my ods those old images were not replaced when the diagram was redrawn de to source data change. Finally I found CTRL-SHIFT-F9 which recalculates and redraw diagrams and replaces the stored images as well If I don't forget it I guess it would be a very useful and desirable change in LO to delete cached version of digarams as a 1st step when a diagram is redrawn on screen due to data change. It would be much better than pasting an incorrect diagram which sometimes almost invisible until somebody asks sg like this on a meeting: How the hell can be this number 2 today when you've promised it will be 4.5 at least till the end of this year!!! The only thing I remember when I have copied diagrams that I was faster than LO could refresh everything. Maybe I have saved earlier the ods than previous diagram chache refresh process finished on all diagrams (?) After CTRL-SHIFT-F9 all diagrams were correctly copied to writer. But an error message wuld be much better than a different picture in target document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112014] New: PRINTING handouts to PDF won't do "Left to right, then down"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112014 Bug ID: 112014 Summary: PRINTING handouts to PDF won't do "Left to right, then down" Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jeffrey.hu...@gmail.com Bug 40325 is highly related to this but it is NOT fixed in 5.4.0.3, at least not on Mac. Looks like it was an OO.o problem originally. Trying to print slides in Handouts mode. The two "Order" selections are "Left to right, then down" and "Top to bottom, then right." Either selection results in "Top to bottom, then right" rendering, at least when saving as PDF from the Print dialog (have not tested with printer). There is a workaround posted in 40325 - explicitly set slides per page to 6 - but on the Mac at least I can't find a place to do that; the online docs refer to tabs that don't exist in the Print dialog and there's nothing about that that I can see in the Properties under the Handout Master view. Still, the selection in the Print dialog when Handouts is selected should have an effect and currently it does not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

When the NAS was turned off (or its LAN cable unplugged) ods files freezed at opening. In Calc File/Printer settings without deletion I could see the old network printer IP, after deletion there I could see my current default printer (also a network printer but connected to my router) however the settings.xml did not have the deleted tags. Practically each one is about different record type in WMF. Nevertheless, 1&2 and 3&4 are likely somewhere close to each other. Everything else is independent. I've seen an update about new EMF renderer in LibO. WMF is very similar, so probably code from the new EMF renderer can be consulted or partially reused to fix whatever left broken in WMF. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
