I'd rather close this as NOTOURBUG.

I installed LibreOffice 5.4.2 and tested, the bug does not exist. Thus the bug
may be because of the build of Fedora 26.

P.S In order to make the TDF build of LibreOffice run in Fedora 26, you need to
manually install the "clang" package, as discussed in bug 112252.

Tested 2017-10-11
LibreOffice 5.4.1.2
LinuxMint 17

I reran the test of inserting an alphabetical index into a copy of the user
guide file and it still sorts the accented letters wrongly.

I also ran a test on an ordinary table in Writer and it failed too, but the
sort order is different: it treats ĉ as equal to c etc, which is wrong – ĉ must
go after c.

No change since last year.

Okay, that's true, it could be have some small rendering problems. I think, the
forms of letters are correct. If the community would make a better fonts, do
it! If the community tell me, wich points need corrections, I accept It. If the
community want make changes inside the font, I agree to reuse well formed glyps
from my font, and that case I accept, that my font do not need tho put the font
repo!

My question: what was the problem about some capital and small letters?

I'm using LOo 5.3.1.2 on Ubuntu 17.04 (AMD64) and when I try to delete a GL3D
chart from the navigator, LOo crashes. Also when I try delete the page itself
in Calc, which contains the GL3D chart, LOo crashes. So it's impossible to
remove the non-working chart from a document. The only possible way to do is to
create a new document, move every page, except the one, contains the chart,
then delete the original document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72424] Writer document re-calculates spread of long table on opening, changing number of pages

2017-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72424

I have multiple tables in my document, rather than one long table. If I copy
one of the affected tables to a test file, it displays properly, but in the
main file, the second page has only a couple rows before splitting to the
third, the third page ha only a couple rows before splitting to the fourth,
etc.

Typing enter and delete before one of the breaks *temprarily* removes the
break, but it re-opens with the same break.

If I use the navigator to check each table, it keeps freezing and renumbering
them. Assuming it isn't actually moving them, which would be bad.

Right, but you are proposing for LibreOffice to deploy a font that will service
this Unicode page to support this script for many users--including supporting
the font fallback needs.

I think that is a good idea, but the font will need to be trouble free and well
designed before the project would consider to deploy it. As it is, it is not
ready.

Clean it up (font metrics and the actual glyphs) get some outside help if you
need it.

DirectWrite Direct2D based rendering and both modes continue to be impacted by
faulty hardware drivers.

Hi I just checked it.

That version of the app fixed it. It works!

I tried with the Radeon card both on "Power Saving" and "High Performance" and
it worked in both modes. I also tried with OpenGL (the menu setting says
OpenCL) both on and off and it worked in both cases.

Congratulations, it seems like you have finally figured it out.

Conversely, my Mac (without a Touch Bar) doesn't seem to offer single finger
scroll in the stock options.

I just checked with a USB mouse and the same issue appears to be identical with
LibreOffice 5.3.6, 5.3.4 and 5.4.2 in macOS 10.13. Scrolling up on a blank
sheet is fine (one detent at a time), but I have to spin the wheel faster
through a few detents to go down at all.

Needless to say, it's fine in 5.3.6 for Fedora 26 and earlier versions too on
Ubuntu 16.04.

I've gone back to 5.3.3.2 now as per Jim's comment 7 & 8 which works fine. I
also can't remember what it was like before High Sierra, but don't recall
noticing it so perhaps it's a combination of that along with 5.3.4+.

2017-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Previously "Khaled" corrected LibreOfice Writer to accept that this codepage
has right-to-left write-direction, must be set bidi language as no language,
and it's works. In Xkeyboar database version 2.22 already adopted an easy
useable keyboard layout implementation for this codepage. I thought, just the
fonts are missing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113038] New: Working with hi-res image is extremely slow

2017-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113038

Bug ID: 113038
Summary: Working with hi-res image is extremely slow
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: o...@prosa.dk

Description:
When working with hi-res images the system is extremely slow. It is as if the
system works on the full uncompress image in full resolution instead of a
scaled down version of the same.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. New text document
2. Insert attached image
3. Write text

Actual Results:
The program is now very slow.

Expected Results:
Same speed as if the image had been in low-res.

Looking at the memory and CPU usage it looks as if Writer is working on the
full-resolution image all the time.

It would be much preferable if Writer cached a version scaled for the current
need and worked on that; and only recomputed a new scaled version when the
image is resized or zoom is changed.

Microsoft Word has no problem using the hi-res image.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
(Thanks for fixing the bug in 5.4.2.0, that made it impossible to work with
hi-res images at all).

Could you give a try to a recent LO version?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113036] New: "hypen" is changed to a "soft hypen" in a pdf export

2017-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113036

Bug ID: 113036
Summary: "hypen" is changed to a "soft hypen" in a pdf export
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: robert_geis...@gmx.de

Description:
Hello,

I found a very interesting fact about the Mint 17.3 Cinnemon System combined
with the Libre Office Writer 5.1.6.2. Following, I have an example to explain
what I mean:

- Inserting from "A-B“ into a LO-Writer Document
- Formatting from "A-B“ with the font "Courier 10 Pitch“
- Creating a PDF with "Data ==> Export as PDF"
- Opening the created PDF document and copying from "A-B" with STRG+C into the
cache
- Entering the cache "A-B" into the unicode analyser
http://www.fontspace.com/unicode/analyzer/

According to this I have two questions:

1. When entering the cache into the input box of the unicode analyser, the -
between A and B disappears. Why is that? The - disappears only if the format of
the font of the libre office writer origin document was changed. In my case I
changed the format to the font "Courier 10 Pitch“ (see above).

2. When clicking on „GO“ after entering the cache (in the unicode analyser),
you can see that there is something else between A and B, but not a "-",
instead a SOFT HYPEN. Can you tell me where this SOFT HYPEN is coming from? Is
it a libre office writer bug?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Inserting from "A-B“ into a LO-Writer Document
2. Formatting from "A-B“ with the font "Courier 10 Pitch“
3. Creating a PDF with "Data ==> Export as PDF"
4. Opening the created PDF document and copying from "A-B" with STRG+C into the
cache
5. Entering the cache "A-B" into the unicode analyser
http://www.fontspace.com/unicode/analyzer/
6. The "-" between A and B disappears

Actual Results:
see above

Expected Results:
see above

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Open a new spreadsheet in Calc and insert a few numbers in a cell. Select and

it by 90°.
I know no other way to insert a complex spreadsheet in Writer if you have to

copy of sheet being worked on when crash took place

Hi folks,

I've recreated the worksheet as closely as I can recall to the state it was in
immediately before the crash - I made other changes to it between the recovery
and creating this attachment but I doubt that they are relevant.

The circumstances of the crash were:
I deleted rows 1291 and 1292.
I then attempted to edit cell H1279 to remove the references to cells H1291 and
H1292 which by then had become #REF!s.
The crash occurred before I had finished editing / exited cell H1279.

Regards,

John

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112443] FILEOPEN, DOCX Document footer is rendered twice

2017-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112443

hi, me again.

I was completely on the wrong way. Both LO and MSO try to render the same
footer (footer3.xml). The misplaced textboxes are anchored in the footer, but
they have a relative vertical distance of about one entire page. Thus, their
absolute position would be far below the page border.

LO now cuts the distance in sw/objectpositioning to make the boxes fit on the
page (therefore they are located a the very bottom).

MSO seems to ignore the boxes and makes them unreachable for the user.

this bug was about the invalid value being exported
to ODF 1.1 and ODF 1.2 documents - which was fixed
by exporting "true" instead of "shrink-to-fit".

the case that is still buggy is the export
to ODF 1.2 extended, for which a different attribute should
be used for the "shrink-to-fit" value - but for this
there already is bug 97630.

Gülşah's fix has been reverted on master, so it needs re-evaluation.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113033] New: No error message when trying to save a locked document from a SMB external storage in Nextcloud with Collabora Online

2017-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113033

Bug ID: 113033
Summary: No error message when trying to save a locked document
from a SMB external storage in Nextcloud with
Collabora Online
   Product: LibreOffice Online
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: phili...@hemmel.fr

### Steps to reproduce

SMB external storage needed in a Nextcloud configuration, with Collabora Online
on the same server.

1. User A opens the document test.odt directly on the windows server or from a
network drive or from a UNC path, with LibreOffice.
a `.~lock.test.odt#` file is created in the same folder.
2. User B opens the same document with Collabora Online from a SMB external
storage in Nextcloud, whatever the type of authentication used
3. User B modifies the document and save it (the document is still open by user
A with LibreOffice)

### Expected behaviour

User B should receive a error message because the document is locked on the
server and B can't save it

### Actual behaviour

B can save the document and exit Collabora Online without any warning, but all
the modifications made by B will be lost.

The admin_audit app logs "File updated" and then "File written", which is
false.

Not sure if it's a Collabora Online or Nextcloud bug, but as Nextcloud manages
the storage, I think that Nextcloud should do the job.

Actually this is not fixable at all as the updater does not (and more
importantly must not) depend on any LibreOffice code that is not inside of the
updater executable. This includes the support for translations and
%PRODUCTNAME.

Actually handling %PRODUCTNAME is not even necessary as the updater will be a
TDF-only feature. I have not yet an idea how to solve the general translation
problem.

The duplication is currently necessary as the code is heavily split between
Windows and Linux and the whole updater UI does not (and currently can not)
share any code.

This is clearly not an easy hack and possibly a WONTFIX.
