https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114192 --- Comment #1 from Anthony DeRobertis--- It appears pspfontcache was removed in babf6d5e53516e80e8e3f2485796ebfaeb20e9c1 ... [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114192] New: Please cache results psp::PrintFontManager:: analyzeFontFile font scan at startup
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114192 Bug ID: 114192 Summary: Please cache results psp::PrintFontManager::analyzeFontFile font scan at startup Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: anth...@derobert.net At least on my system, every time I start LibreOffice, the startup time is mostly with the progress bar sitting in the middle & the disk pegged. Checking with strace & gdb, it appears that psp::PrintFontManager::analyzeFontFile is open/mmap/close'ing every font on the system (and read'ing a bunch too). I had a pspfontcache file in my profile; just to confirm it wasn't corrupt, I deleted it. Even after a few restarts of LibreOffice, it hasn't been regenerated. I went ahead and deleted the entire psprint directory; that was recreated, but is now empty. I have no files name "pspfontcache" anywhere in $HOME. PS: Not sure why this exists at all — shouldn't all this info be available from fontconfig? But that's surely a different bug, if a bug at all. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114080 --- Comment #7 from Jay Michael--- (In reply to Dieter Praas from comment #6) I'm not sure what you mean by "the Windows editor". I usually use Notepad. I just tried again with Write (AKA, WordPad). I checked the file with a hex editor. The file produced by LibreOffice does *not* have an end-of-line mark at the end of every line that appeared on the screen when I was in LibreOffice Writer. It just has an end-of-line mark at the end of each paragraph, which is also each place I hit when I was originally entering the text. "a media player" ... ? Which media player? Many media players have their own built-in codecs. DirectShow is not involved in that case. So using many players to test is not going to give useful results. I test with Windows Media Player (WMP). WMP is going to use the same codecs and splitters available to the operating system. If it plays in WMP, it should play in LibreOffice. Have you tested with Windows Media Player? Also I would like to see if you installing the same MainConcept encoding app that I have installed would solve the issue on your test system. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114189] New: Order of Hebrew chars in some PDFs reversed by Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114189 Bug ID: 114189 Summary: Order of Hebrew chars in some PDFs reversed by Draw Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.0.0.beta1 Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eyal...@technion.ac.il Description: Many PDFs containing Hebrew text are such that, if you open them in a PDF viewer, the Hebrew text is displayed with proper directions and orders of glyphs; and selecting text from the PDF produces raw text in the clipboard in the correct order, i.e. it's not just some tromp-l'oeil for display purposes - and yet, if you open that same PDF in LO Draw - the order of the Hebrew glyphs gets reversed. In fact, this happens even with PDFs created by LibreOffice itself (e.g. exported from LO Writer)! Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open LO writer 2. Set the direction to RTL and the language to Hebrew 3. Write a few words, say, אחת שתיים שלוש ארבע 4. Export a PDF (don't save as PDF) 5. Open the attached PDF file in Draw. Actual Results: The text you see is: עברא שולש םייתש תחא Expected Results: The text you should see is: אחת שתיים שלוש ארבע Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Same thing happens with Arabic. Not fully similar to the request, but maybe nice too? Frankly I never use Alt+1 ... 8 in the browser. Why? because you have to pause and think what number the tab is. You simply do not do that. Also it does not solve the problem. We need Ctrl+TAB most when we have lots of sheets. For me that is daily practice. I have sheets with products, weeks, clients etc that can be up to a hundred tabs. I want to be able to switch quickly between a particular week, product, client and another sheet. This can be total sheet, but also related sheet, that you are copying from. Now it is really cumbersome. You have browse through the tabs as the tab you want to go is often not visible. Ctrl+Tab is all I need. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114184] New: Replace non-single-quote apostrophes with Geresh when appropriate
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114184 Bug ID: 114184 Summary: Replace non-single-quote apostrophes with Geresh when appropriate Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.0.0.beta1 Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eyal...@technion.ac.il Description: In Hebrew, the Geresh character (׳) is used for abbreviations, unlike English which uses the period (.). Thus if in English, 123 Oak Street may be abbreviated as 123 Oak St., in Hebrew, רחוב האלון 123 becomes רח׳ האלון 123. The Geresh character is _not_ supposed to be used for in single-quotation marks (well, if you do your typesetting right, anyway). There's a separate character for that which is / is based on Mercha. Both Geresh and Mercha have their doublings, i.e. Gershaim and Merchaot. Gershaim is used to denote acronyms, e.g. דרישת שלום is a ד״ש. In practice, however, Hebrew keyboard lacks keys for Geresh and for Gershaim (and for Mercha and Merchaot), so people use apostrophe (') and double-quotes (") instead of Geresh/Mercha and Gershaim/Merchaot/bottom Merchaot respectively: רח' האלון 123 and ד"ש. Now, the auto-correction feature sometimes (rarely? perhaps only when importing Word documents or from a previous LO version?) mistakes a single apostrophe character, at the end of an abbreviated word and before a space, a period, a comma and so on, for a single quotation mark, and replaces it with, well, I'm not sure exactly what - probably a stylized quotation mark for the non-CTL font. It should never do that. Also, even if it doesn't make the replacement - it should actually replace the apostrophe with a Geresh character (or replace on condition that the Hebrew font has a glyph for it). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set your CTL font to a Hebrew font with a clear difference between a single (opening) quotation mark and a Geresh. 2. Enable single-quote autocorrect 3. Switch paragraph direction to Hebrew 4. Switch the input language to Hebrew 5. Type in רח' האלון 123. Actual Results: The apostrophe either stays as-is (U+0x27), or is replaced with a single opening quotation mark (U+0x2019) Expected Results: The apostrophe is replaced with a Geresh (U+0x5F3) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gershayim https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_punctuation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geresh https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%9E%D7%A8%D7%9B%D7%90%D7%95%D7%AA User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Its version is version is Version: 5.4.2.2 Build ID: 1:5.4.2~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1 CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group $ apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc libreoffice-calc: Installed: 1:5.4.2~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1 Candidate: 1:5.4.2~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1 Version table: *** 1:5.4.2~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1 500 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/libreoffice/libreoffice-5-4/ubuntu xenial/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial2 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates/main i386 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security/main i386 Packages 1:5.1.2-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main i386 Packages How to reproduce this: 1. Open Calc, create new document 2. Fill document cells with some data 3. Switch keyboard layout to Russian 4. Try to move focus from one cell to another with keyboard arrow keys Expected results: * arrow keys move cell selection Actual results: * arrow keys move entire sheet Notes: * if I disable Scroll Lock LED indication Calc moves cell selection as usual. * versions 1:5.1.2-0ubuntu1 from official repository (xenial/main) does not have such problem. * version 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial2 from official repository (xenial-updates/main, xenial-security/main) does not have such problem. Please fix this bug. LibreOffice Calc should not care about ScrollLock LED state. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
