[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114523] TWO UNWANTED POPUPS. PLEASE REMOVE THEM, OR MAKE POSSIBLE A ' DISABLE' OPTION
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114523 Dieter Praaschanged: What|Removed |Added CC||dgp-m...@gmx.de OS|Linux (All) |All --- Comment #8 from Dieter Praas --- I tried to reproduce it as follows: 1. Open a document in writer 2. Check that the following settings are enabled Edit => Track changes => Record Edit => Track changes => Show 3. Type in a change 4. Move the cursor over that change => information about the change appears Is this the popup you mean? I don't know if it is possible to disable this popup. I don't think it is useful to disable it by default. If you don't like it it might be a solution to disable "Show". So you still record your changes, but the are not displayed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114549 --- Comment #4 from himajin100...@gmail.com --- I can reproduce this one. I guess m_pShowChar's text is changed when m_pShowSet is focused https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/cui/source/dialogs/cuicharmap.cxx?a=true=2432c550=994#994 but strangely not when either m_pHexCodeText or m_pDecimalCodeText is modified. also note that setCharName is called even when m_pShowSet is NOT focused for comparison: when we click a character in m_pShowSet, SvxShowCharSet::SelectIndex is called, and as second parameter is explicitly specified true rather than default false, m_pShowSet grabs focus, successfully changing m_pShowChar's text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I choose my file "Kannweg#Bookmark.odt"; you see the path in the "Path" field. It has a # in the file name. But below the field "Target" at the label URL you see, how the path is written in UNC notation. Notice the change of # to %23. Perhaps you can add the analogous screenshot for your environment. I suspect, that it might be a Ubuntu only problem. And please have a look in Help > About, which LibreOffice version do you have. The current productive version is 5.3.7. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114522] Writer hyperlink to the bookmark in filename with # (sharp) character.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114522 --- Comment #2 from Harry--- Hi Regina Henschel, Of course '#', not '%23' or anything. I made a file of which filename is 'true#333.odt' and made a bookmark in it named 'testbookmark' by alt-i, k. And I made another file named 'test.odt'and made a hyperlink on the text 'testhyperlink' by selecting it and ctrl-k to point to the above 'testbookmark' in 'true#333.odt'. But after choosing 'true#333.odt' if u try to click the bookmark selection icon (crossbar over the circle), it would not display bookmark list of 'true#333.odt' but the error msg 'Couldn't open the document'. If u force it by filling the text box with 'testbookmark' by hand-typing, it will pass anyway. But the hyperlink doesn't work and if u edit the hyperlink again it will show the filename field with 'true' and the bookmark field with '#333.odt#testbookmark'. It means Libreoffice is confusing the bookmark separator '#' with the letter '#' in the filename. As mentioned already, this happened just after upgraded from Ubuntu 14 to Ubuntu 16.04 which was fresh installed on the empty HDD. Unfortunately I don't know the version number of Libreoffice which I used to use in Ubuntu 14 which was erased permanently. And I used this kind of hyperlink-bookmark for years without this kind of problem. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114493] In Math Formula the spacing around operators, numbers, identifiers etc should be adjustable
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114493 --- Comment #2 from Vladislav Ivanistsev--- Sure, one can use "`" or "~". Yet, take a look on the implementation in mathml. For the mo element there is an "lspace" and "rspace" parameters. Both depend on the form of an element -- prefix (eg "("), infix (eg "+") or postfix (eg ")". Your solution is equivalent of adding manually mspace element in mathml. A more elegant solution rely of the https://www.w3.org/TR/mathml-for-css/#mo, where several types are defined: mi identifier mn number mo operator, fence or separator mtext text mspace space ms string literal Using these types it is possible to define and redefine difference space values in a more flexible way than it is currently done in LO formula editor. Herewith, padding is set only in the following cases: mo[largeop="true"] {font-size:1.3em; vertical-align:-0.1ex;} mo[form="infix"], * + mo {padding:0 0.3ex;} mo[form="prefix"] {padding:0 0 0 0.5ex;} mo[form="postfix"] {padding:0 0.5ex 0 0;} mo[fence="true"], mo[separator="true"] {padding:0;} I propose distinguishing fences and separators from other operators, and allow adjusting space around them in a separate way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113418] scrolling vertical tab bar instead of horizontal multi-tab dialogs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113418 --- Comment #9 from zyklo...@web.de --- Well, you’re complaining about icons being too small, while in the current implementation, there aren’t any at all…? Additionally, these headings with icons would then look like the current LO menu implementation, which fulfills a pretty similar purpuse (making settings accessible via a menu structure). There, I also don’t see a downside of icons next to the text. Still, you could of course do that with big icons and sub settings menus, like you proposed. But I really wouldn’t do modes at all, because a lot of users (like me) activate that instantly, just for not missing anything when searching for a setting (and never deactivate it again). Additionally, you’ll have two completely different settings windows, depending on which mode you’re in, what makes it pretty complicated to find/remember a setting, and is confusing at all. Instead I’d rather do an “Advanced” Settings page with sub-settings, for having no mode conflicts and a user then learns faster, what’s in there and if he/she needs to (ever) look into it. When you have modes, it’s far harder to learn if you need expert mode or not. And I’d call that mode “advanced” instead of “expert”. ;) I append my proposal for a new Gnome Builder settings UI, I did last week. What do you think about that? On the left pane, you’ll have the main categories (with big icons if you like). And then you have a GtkStackSwitcher at the top of the main view for sifting through sub-settings. This way you don’t need to “get back to the upper menu layer” (with the main menus being hidden), and you also don’t have big structures/trees. With everything being split in a vertical main menu and a horizontal sub menu, you’ll also recall setting’s locations faster than in any kind of tree or mode. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114544] New: FILESAVE: Calc duplicates Print Areas when saving as an Excel XLSX file
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114544 Bug ID: 114544 Summary: FILESAVE: Calc duplicates Print Areas when saving as an Excel XLSX file Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.6.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tslag...@osa.state.mn.us Description: When saving a spreadsheet as an XLSX file, Calc duplicates any existing print areas. When checking the underlying XML files, the workbook.xml file contains a duplicate 'definedName' node for each print area. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new Calc file. 2. Define a new Print Range. 3. Save the file as Microsoft Excel 2007-2013 XML (.xlsx) file. 4. Close and reopen the file. 5. Select Insert -> Defined Name or Expression... and note that the Print Area is listed. 6. Insert some data and save the file (or Save As a new XLSX file). 7. Close and reopen the file. 8. Select Insert -> Defined Name or Expression... and note that there are now two Print Areas listed, one with "_0" appended to the original name. 9. Repeat 6-8 to replicate multiple times. Actual Results: The original Print Area is duplicated every time the file is saved. Expected Results: Only the original Print Area will be listed each time the file is saved and reopened. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: I ran into this while trying to read the file in an automated system. In the underlying XML files, the 'definedName' element is duplicated with the same 'name' value, which does not seem to be valid. Excel removes the duplicate when opening the file; LibreOffice Calc appends the "_0" to prevent a duplicate name. While this may only be annoying to those using Calc as a standard user, when parsing the XML the duplicate XML elements create problems. I tested this with 5.3.6.2, 5.3.7.2, and 5.4.3.2 (all x64) - the same problem exists in all of them. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113937] Forms and reports hang
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113937 --- Comment #34 from Ralph Peters--- Well, no response so far - almost a month since my first post on this subject! I decided after doing some research on the web to switch from an embedded database to a split database which uses hysqldb using the wizard found at https://www.mediafire.com/file/59iq0esx071zcic/Split_HSQLDB_Wizard_v3c.odb?ssl=1 I spent about a day doing the transfer, which included a fairly detailed check of the new database to see that all data tables, views, forms, and reports were OK. I have been using the split-database for several days and have had NO CRASHES. YES NONE! This leads me to suspect that there is nothing wrong with my data, instead there are problems with the current (LO 5.4.3) implementation of the embedded database in LO. If I have any "crash" problems I will report them here!! SO, I would suggest that people do NOT USE the embedded database and switch/start with the split version! There are a number of web pages on the subject for example http://g0o0o0gle.com/base-wizard-portablesplit-hsql-database-template/ BTW, my database is fairly large. The mydb.data file is 34 MB. Compressed as a tgz file the size is 5.5 MB, this includes everything except the driver files (hysqldb.jar and sqltool.jar) which do not change. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114466] Certain Document in Use dialog does not get focus
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114466 --- Comment #12 from Aron Budea--- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #11) > 1.Creating a sheet > 2. Copying the lock file to temp. > 3. Saving the sheet and closing LO. > 4. Editing lockfile to change user name. > 5. Copying lockfile back to directory holding the test doc. > 6. launching scalc.exe with full path in folder containing the test doc. >e.g. C:\LODev610_x64_20171218_TB42\program\scalc.exe > tdf114466_vsfTesting1.ods Jeez, my mistake again, I mixed up the two cases in the description: - Change user name in lock file: this will behave as expected, dialog comes to front, - Change profile location in lock file: this will not, dialog stays in background (in this case the dialog shows "Open" instead of "Open Copy" in the middle). Let me write down my steps correctly this time, all this has to be repeated with the same LO installation: 1. Save an empty document. 2. Copy and edit its lock file by changing profile location (last entry), 3. Close document, copy back the lock file. 4. Start a new document, I did from command line (to have an LO window open). 5. From command line, open the existing document by giving it as parameter to soffice. => The dialog doesn't show in front. If it does, cancel out, go back to command line and try again step 5. Mind you, the behavior can be different with slightly different steps. I used to test by opening an existing document instead of an empty one in step 4. Then it mattered if you just canceled out of the dialog, or also alt-tabbed back to the previously open document, or clicked back into the previously open document. Then the bug was only reproducible with the 3rd variant. However, with an empty document this doesn't seem to matter... strange (it seems the complications of steps started in 6.0, possibly by Caolan's change). It's easy to get confused by all these tiny details that matter here... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
