Shift key will be great!

That way you can add even more combinations.

-Shift key in addition to autofill selection (for ascending values) to keep
original formating

-Ctrl+autofill selection (for identical values)

+Shift+Ctrl+autofill - keep original formatting and for identical values

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Hi Jay,

This behavior can be reproduced in versions before the patch was merged by
manually performing what the patch does automatically. (Apply a style to a
table)

I have reproduced it in the following two versions:
Version: 5.4.4.2, Build ID: 1:5.4.4~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1
and
Version: 6.0.0.0.beta2 (x64) mswindows

Here are the steps to reproduce in pre patched versions:
1. Open a version of Writer without this patch
2. Open Sidebar -> View > Sidebar
3. Click on Styles deck icon
4. Click on Tables Styles icon in Styles Panel
5. Insert a page break -> CTRL+ENTER
6. Insert a table on the second page
7. Double click on any table style in the list box in the Styles Panel

Actual Results:
Table moves to previous page

Expected Results:
Table should stay on page it was on

This issue isn't related to the presentation, but to CJK glyph layouting, in
the "buggy" presentation the master slide name is in Chinese, that's why it
crashes. Basically all apps crash with CJK UI language + OpenGL upon start.

Martin, when you encountered the similar crash in OSX, is it possible you've
had CJK characters in the status bar at that point?

Miguel, I've addressed your comments in bug #114995.

Regardless of whether this dialog should support CSV in addition to HTML (I
don't see a reason why not), the bug still remains that there should be a
button to load the contents at the URL, or "OK" should become enabled after the
user pastes the URL.

Miguel, let's try to see things from the user's perspective.

> Link to external data it's not for import csv files, they are raw text.

1. How is the user supposed to know that? Do you think the end user cares about
the distinction between CSV and HTML tables? No. The user just wants the data.

2. If "Link to External Data" [is] not for import[ing] CSV files, then why does
the Text Import dialog appears after I paste a CSV URL and press Enter in this
dialog? If CSV URLs are not supposed to be imported that way, then the dialog
should show an error.

3. What if the user wants to import CSV content from a URL? For example Yahoo!
Finance offers CSV export - http://www.jarloo.com/yahoo_finance/

> Then it can be updated through Menu/Edit/Link

> Even they can be treated as a spreadsheet, referencing it directly.

That's good for local files, but not for files that change contents and are
accessible via a URL, such as Yahoo! Finance exports.

If you really don't think this is a bug, please consider allowing CSV URLs as a
feature request.

Gulsah added a lock symbol to tabs in Calc (bug 95880), so it would be more
useful to have that same UI in Draw and replace the various font styles to show

The problem here is that the same setting (leave gap for missing values) is
interpreted slightly differently in Excel and in Calc: the mentioned cell
content (="") is considered a missing value in Calc, but not in Excel.

Interestingly otherwise it isn't considered as a value even in Excel, but the
chart plots it as if it was zero.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115060] New: Chapter Numbering: Unwanted space after numbering

2018-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115060

Bug ID: 115060
Summary: Chapter Numbering: Unwanted space after numbering
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yr...@mun.ca

Created attachment 139138
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=139138=edit
File with Chapter numbering example (works well in LO 5.2.7 but not in
subsequent versions)

In Tools > Chapter Numbering, the Numbering followed by "Nothing" option does
not behave as intended: if this option is selected, Writer automatically
inserts an unwanted space after the numbering within the Table of Contents.

* The issue came up after I updated my LO from 5.2.7 to 5.4.4. LO 5.2.7 behaves
as expected.

* I also verified that the problem exists in LO 5.3.7; so it seems like the bug
emerged somewhere in the transition between 5.2 and 5.3.

* I attach a sample file showing this issue. If we update the index (ToC) in LO
5.2.7, it behaves normally; in LO 5.3 and 5.4, an unwanted space appears after
the chapter number after we update the index.

Thank you very much for looking into this!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115056] New: FILESAVE Calc doesn't write CSV as UTF-8

2018-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115056

Bug ID: 115056
Summary: FILESAVE Calc doesn't write CSV as UTF-8
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libre...@resiak.org

Description:
I create a CSV file "u.csv" in UTF-8 form with BOM which shows the single
character "ü"; it contains exactly the seven hex bytes

ef bb bf c3 bc 0d 0a

When I open it in Calc, "ü" appears correctly in cell A1. I add and immediately
delete a space character, then save the file with "Save" and also "Save as" the
file "uu.csv".

Both are written without the UTF-8 BOM, but with "ü" as a multi-byte character,
so they are now incorrect: the file consists exactly of the four hex bytes

c3 bc 0d 0a

and re-opening the files in Calc fails to recognize them as UTF-8, giving "ü"
in A1. Other programs may or may not treat the file as UTF-8, because it lacks
the BOM.

This could hardly be plainer: Calc should write UTF-8 files with the BOM. At
the very least it should offer the user the chance to specify the character set
for writing a sheet, and act appropriately. Its behavior now is wrong.

Ideally it should be possible to specify a global default character set for
text formats, with per-sheet formats possible and retained in .ODS files. The
same should go for other components (e.g., Writer) where applicable.

Note: I deal with spreadsheets that mix a huge variety of languages, including
Korean, Chinese, Russian, Polish, Thai, and all European languages, so handling
UTF-8 correctly is extremely important to me. With Calc right now it's quite
painful to do this reliably when exchanging CSV files.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a UTF-8 CSV file (with BOM) containing the single character "ü".
2. Read it with Calc.
3. Make a null change.
4. Save the file.
5. Calc can no longer read the file correctly. It contains a multi-byte
character, but no BOM.

Actual Results:
The file no longer signals itself as UTF-8, and Calc reads the contents as
"ü". UTF-8 CSV files with Chinese characters, Russian characters, Thai
characters, accented European characters, etc. are all wrecked for Calc by its
own actions.

Expected Results:
"ü" in A1. Chinese characters, Russian characters, Thai characters, accented
European characters, etc. appear correctly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115052] Allow other keys than from US keyboard as shortcut keys

2018-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115052

(In reply to Yousuf Philips (jay) from comment #1)
> The correct solution in my view is to fix the shortcuts per locale so that
> it works best for their keyboards ...
The locale shortcut fix is one step but isn't perfectly usable now because of
the very limited range of available (US English) keys. Many keys of non-US
English keyboard layouts cannot be used today--but these keys would be easier
for non-US English locale users to use and would avoid dislocate their fingers
to use them ;-).

> and not hide keys in different locales as
> they are less likely to be used but still accessible with the locale
> keyboard, as that just complicates things more.

Haven't said anything about hiding shortcut that are less used. I meant that a
shortcut like Ctrl+# is possible with a German keyboard layout but not with an
US English keyboard layout - so Ctrl+# shouldn't or need not to be available
for US English locale. The same is valid vice versa: Ctrl+; isn't possible with
a German keyboard layout (as US English ';' key is 'ö' in German) so this can
be hidden there, but must be shown for US English keyboard layout.

Compare

and https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/36/KB_Germany.svg for
example or use one of the many other keyboard layouts
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout).

I also vote for variant 1) with a 'none' or 'no list' entry in the list styles
list as this would be similar to the 'default character' style (aka
non-character style) in the character styles list. Also this new entry could be
re-used as command in toolbars, etc.

RESULTS:NO CHANGE, THE BORDERS DO NOT SHOW AS PER PREVIOUS ATTACHMENTS SHOW.

Appreciate your help as I am at a loss on how to fix it.

As this is a different version could it be something with Windows 10 64 bit?
This is the third version with the same problem.

Ta,

Maybe an additional modifier key can help to keep the formatting of autofilled
cells. How's about the Shift key in addition to autofill selection (for
ascending values) and Ctrl+autofill selection (for identical values)?

Having said all that, upgrading to 5.4.4.2 as suggested by tommy27 has
corrected the problem.

--- Comment #1 from Yousuf Philips (jay) ---
The correct solution in my view is to fix the shortcuts per locale so that it
works best for their keyboards and not hide keys in different locales as they
are less likely to be used but still accessible with the locale keyboard, as
that just complicates things more.

For example, we list complicated shortcuts that begin with Ctrl + Alt and Ctrl
+ Shift + Alt, with pretty much all of them being unassigned, but hiding them
from users as they arent likely going to use them is bad as some users may like
to assign them.

So WontFix for me. @Heiko, Stuart: thoughts.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115055] New: Request: Automatically change font when keyboard layout is changed.

2018-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115055

Bug ID: 115055
Summary: Request: Automatically change font when keyboard
layout is changed.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ad...@email.com

Description:
I routinely switch between three languages while typing (English and two dead
languages). The problem is that I need a specific font for each of the dead
languages. Currently that means every time I switch to one of the dead
languages and finish typing in that language, I have to stop, highlight the
portion of the text I just typed, and manually change the font. This slows me
down a lot.

I would like for LibreOffice to either automatically learn that I always use
font B for language (keyboard layout) Y, or for there to be an option to assign
default fonts to portions of the UNICODE character table (i.e. different
default fonts for each language that has a unique alphabet in the UNICODE
tables).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Type in keyboard layout A, font X
2.Type in keyboard layout B

Actual Results:
font X

Expected Results:
font Y

Reproducible: Always

Dieter's suggestion did not work.

(I installed LO 5.4.4.2, created a new, blank doc, typed some text, added a
footnote, went to format --> page --> footnote, ensured that area was "not
larger than page area" (which it was, by default), limited the spae to text to
0.00" (it was only 0.04" by default), hit Apply, and... the footnote is still
at the bottom of the page.)

I am still requesting that this feature be added to LibreOffice.

Allow other keys than from US keyboard so that they are available in the
Customize dialog for other languages.

To not confuse other users, specific keys should be only visible for specific
LibO UI languages.

For example I would prefer Ctrl+# as German shortcut keys instead of Ctrl+'
because the apostrophe (') is only available when using Shift+# which makes all
English shortcuts with ' useless with a German keyboard. Other languages have
similar problems. Because the shortcut key list is limited to English keys, the
keyboard of other languages couldn't take advantage of their specific keys.
This minimizes the variety of possible shortcut keys.

(This bug was thought up in bug 82117.)

Is this the essence of this bug? I would support this as I never understood why
the now available checkbox isn't permanent. That is different to the behavior
of all other checkboxes.

Heiko's suggestion or demand in comment 3 for a min. and max. width would be a
nice enhancement but I don't know if this is possible without cluttering the
UI.

I would consider the opening of a location of a path, where users would want to
add or remove files from, as a primary function of a path and we have more than
enough white space beside the current buttons for it rather than hiding it away
behind a less accessible and discoverable context menu.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115050] New: "Zero Width Non Joiner" partly ignored if input via the keyboard

2018-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115050

Bug ID: 115050
Summary: "Zero Width Non Joiner" partly ignored if input via
the keyboard
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pscho...@gmx.de

Description:
I use a proprietary font (thus, I cannot upload it, unfortunately), whose
Opentype features react to the "Zero Width Non Joiner" (U+200C) by preventing
the ligature AND (in some cases) choosing a different character alternative.

If I input the "Zero Width Non Joiner" via Insert / Special character, all
works fine. However, if I input it from the keyboard using a custom layout,
ligature prevention works, but the wrong character alternative is chosen.

Actual Results:
"Zero Width Non Joiner" ignored for choice of character alternative if input
via the keyboard.

Expected Results:
"Zero Width Non Joiner" should also affect the character alternatives if the
font demands it. Also, when input via the keyboard.

No dont have a list, so either someone goes manually through each module xcu

Yes a similar concept has already been proposed in bug 90646 (mockup:
attachment 115020). MS Word's Style Inspector dialog is a good implementation
of the same concept, while a browser's DOM inspector implementation is way to
complicated.

Benjamins primarily dont deal with styles, so this functionality isnt focused
on them.

So i can confirm the issue and it seems the issue happens for certain shortcuts
and can happen with any assigned command. So from my testing, the issue
happened with F12, ctrl+. and ctrl+; shortcuts but didnt with ctrl+0, ctrl+9,
and ctrl+[.

Steps:
1. open writer
2. tools > customize > keyboard
3. assign shortcut to 'Date' command under the insert category
4. test it works correctly in writer
5. open calc
6. tools > customize > keyboard
7. assign same shortcut to 'Chart' command under the insert category
8. test it works correctly in calc
9. switch back to writer window
10. test if it inserts a chart

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115049] New: DatabaseImportDescriptors still parse SQL, even when IsNative is set to True

2018-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115049

Bug ID: 115049
Summary: DatabaseImportDescriptors still parse SQL, even when
IsNative is set to True
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jan.be...@email.cz

First reported on 2007-01-11 13:53:36 UTC
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=73375

If I set a DatabaseImportDescriptor for a database range in calc to
an SQL statement, when I do the import, it appears that calc *always* attempts
to parse the SQL, even when the IsNative flag is set to True. This is a problem
because I want to send a stored function query to a mysql database; LO
cannot parse such a query, so it must be send in Native mode (which works in
other situations like in Base queries).

Here's a basic script to show what I'm doing:

Sub Main
dbRange = ThisComponent.DatabaseRanges.getByName("mydbRange")
desc() = dbRange.ImportDescriptor
desc(0).Name = "DatabaseName"
desc(0).Value = "MyDB"
desc(1).Name = "SourceType"
desc(1).Value = com.sun.star.sheet.DataImportMode.SQL
desc(2).Name = "SourceObject"
desc(2).Value = "select
date_format(
adddate('2011-1-1', @num:=@num+1),
'%Y-%m-%d'
) date
from
information_schema.tables,
(select @num:=-1) num
limit
365"
desc(3).Name = "IsNative"
desc(3).Value = True
dbRange.getReferredCells.doImport(desc())
End Sub

This macro fails with "Syntax error in SQL expression".
Type: com.sun.star.container.NoSuchElementException
Message: .

However, the query works in mysql natively and from LO-Base, provided
Native mode is selected.
