[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116413] New: Calc: Using Paste Special > Options > Link, but the target cell doesn't change when source is updated
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116413 Bug ID: 116413 Summary: Calc: Using Paste Special > Options > Link, but the target cell doesn't change when source is updated Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.2.1 release Hardware: Other OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kam3...@gmail.com Description: In D23 I type the number "2". In E23 I also type the number "2". I copy D23, select E23 and Paste Special > Paste All + Operations: Add + Options: Link. + Shift Cells: Don't shift The number "4" now appears in E23, and the cell reference says =2+($SpreadsheetName.$D$23). Looks great. I change the value in D23 to 3, hit Enter, hit Save, but E23 remains the same. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enter a number in a cell. 2.Enter another number in a different cell. 3.Copy the value in the first cell, then select the second cell to paste into. 4.Chose Paste Special > Paste All + Operations Add + Options > Link. 5. Then update the value in the first cell. Hit Enter, hit Save. Actual Results: Instead of updating to the new value as shown in the cell reference formula, the second cell stays at the same value. Expected Results: The second cell should have updated its value to reflect the changed value of the first cell, to which it is linked. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: >From the LibreOffice Help Files (Paste Special) Inserts the contents of the clipboard into the current file in a format that you can specify. Choose Edit - Paste Special Operations Select the operation to apply when you paste cells into your sheet. Add Adds the values in the clipboard cells to the values in the target cells. Also, if the clipboard only contains comments, adds the comments to the target cells. Options Sets the paste options for the clipboard contents. Link Inserts the cell range as a link, so that changes made to the cells in the source file are updated in the target file. To ensure that changes made to empty cells in the source file are updated in the target file, ensure that the Insert All option is also selected. You can also link sheets within the same spreadsheet. When you link to other files, a DDE link is automatically created. A DDE link is inserted as a matrix formula and can only be modified as a whole. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116411] New: Navigator's Page Next randomly stops paging; Navigator' s Previous Page always pages correctly.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116411 Bug ID: 116411 Summary: Navigator's Page Next randomly stops paging; Navigator's Previous Page always pages correctly. Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.2.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: prusselltechgr...@gmail.com Description: For your convenience I used LO's WG54-WriterGuideLO.odt for testing. When I open this document and click the Navigators Page Next, it randomly stops paging to the next page. Clicking the Page Next button advances a random number of pages and then stops working; Subsequent clicks of Page Next appear to do nothing. When this occurs, clicking Previous Page and then Page Next works, until Page Next stops working again. Previous Page always works. Page Next randomly stops working. Steps to Reproduce: Test 1: Problem: Page Next - starting on Page 1 Steps: 1. Start (LO) and Open test document 2. View > Zoom > Entire Page 3. F5 to open Navigator 4. Click Next Page Test 2: Problem: Page Next - starting on page 300 Steps: 1. Start (LO) and Open test document 2. View > Zoom > Entire Page 3. F5 to open Navigator 4. Enter 300, Enter - The display was 1/2 page 299 and 1/2th 300 so I did a View > Zoom > Entire Page. This did not always occur. Some times (LO) positioned the document correctly on page 300. 5. Click Previous Page. (LO) goes back a page. Click Previous Page again, it works, again, again, and again. 6. Now click Next Page. (LO) goes forward N page(s) and stops. Actual Results: Test 1: Problem: Page Next - starting on Page 1 On (W), Navigator > Next Page, advanced 1 page and stopped. The next click of Next Page did nothing. On (L), Navigator > Next Page advanced 2 pages and stopped. The next click of Next Page did nothing. Test 2: Problem: Page Next - starting on page 300 Previous Page always worked as expected. Next Page stopped working after some random number of clicks. I tried various Previous Page (P) and Next Page (N). See the table below. I repeated the test with the same (P) and got different (N). When I repeated a test I closed (LO), restarted, and reopened the document. NOTE: (P) always worked. Every click, moved a page. (N) did not work. I was trying to see if there was a relationship between (P) and (N), or if clicking (P) would make (N) work again. I didn't see a relationship, but by clicking (P) (N) would work again for some random number. (N) stopped working after some random number of clicks on both Windows and Linux. (W) P N1 N2 N3 5 1 5 3 4 2 4 5 3 1 2 4 1 2 3 2 10 1 1 1 2 1 1 3 Page 200 0 2 - But only 1 full pages. There was 1 tiny movement. 1 1 5 5 Page 100 - The display was 1/4 page 99 and 3/4th 100 so I did a View > Zoom > Entire Page. Some times it was correct and displayed the entire page. 0 7 - But only 5 full pages. There were 2 tiny movements. 1 2 - But only 1 full page. (L) P N1 N2 N3 5 7 4 6 3 4 1 2 10 2 2 3 Page 200 0 1 - No pages, actually repositioned on the page. 1 2 5 6 Page 100 0 10 - But only 8 pages. 2 clicks were just tiny movements. 1 2 Expected Results: When Navigator > Page Next is clicked, LO should always advance to the next page. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: LibreOffice Version (LO): 6.0.2.1 Test Document: WG54-WriterGuideLO.odt https://documentation.libreoffice.org/en/english-documentation/writer/ Environments: (L) Linux Mint 17.3 KDE 4 & Linux Mint 18.3 Mate and (W) Window 7 I checked the KDE settings and Compositing type is OpenGL 3.1. The Navigator > Next Page problem is not limited to View > Zoom > Entire Page. Any time the Zoom Factor was not 100% the Next Page failed at some random number of clicks. An alternative to this change would be to add a new sw layout compatibility flag and handle this at a layout level (somewhere in SwAnchoredObject::GetObjRectWithSpaces()). The downside of that approach is that once a layout flag is added, it's not preferred to tweak its behavior, while doing the same at import time is not a problem. Also it's better to have a flag for something which has clear behavior in some spec / implementer notes, which is not the case for this problem. (I've mailed dochelp@microsoft, no answer so far.) https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116408 Bug ID: 116408 Summary: LibreOffice not associated with pdf docs in "open with" contextual menu in MacOS Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.3.0 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tmp...@gmail.com Description: The "open with..." contextual menu (right-click or control-click) for a pdf document does not present LibreOffice as an alternative to the default app (preview.) You can get LibreOffice to open a pdf doc from that menu by navigating to the app from the "other..." selection, but at least from 5.4.5 on it is not even presented as a "recommended" app and you have to enable the "all applications" setting. (in LO 3.3 at least it comes up as a recommended app.) I've looked over the info.plist for 3.3 vs 5.4.5 and can't find an obvious reason why 3.3 and 5.4.5 have different behavior, but it is clear that neither one has "pdf" as a type extension it understands. I've looked at the info.plist for NeoOffice and does have an entry for pdf and NeoOffice is presented as an alternative to preview in the "open with" contextual menu. (see attached screen shot.) Yes, I know it is possible to permanently designate LibreOffice as the preferred app for opening pdf by making the appropriate selection in that contextual menu or the info window, but that's not what I'm talking about. I just want to occasionally, but easily, have LibreOffice open a pdf doc, not make it a permanent association. I assume all that is required is adding an entry (or entries) for pdf files somewhere in the info.plist, but there are so many different things that I don't understand about them I haven't bothered to experiment. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Control-click (or right click) on a pdf document 2. 3. Actual Results: See attached screen shot. Expected Results: LibreOffice should be listed as one of the applications below the first (default or permanently associated) app. I have no idea why some of what's there show up, but at least LibreOffice should! https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116237 --- Comment #6 from Aprax--- Why would there be two very different ways to select a Border and Border width? I thank you for pointing me to the Format way, it's basically much easier to understand and use. It's not completely intuitive when designing a border with less than 4 sides but I did find the double left click could remove a single side. However the check box for "Remove border" acts weirdly. It's greyed out initially,it stays greyed if I single click to select a single side, but if I click again on the border, the border disappears and the check box is active which seems pointless since the border is gone. However, once active I can click on other sides and they disappear so it's just a learning curve by trial and error although really, the check box should always be active or someone needs to explain why it isn't.. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116404] New: In Writer, when writing a new RTL document with locale defined as Hebrew and saving as docx the styles are saved as LTR
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116404 Bug ID: 116404 Summary: In Writer, when writing a new RTL document with locale defined as Hebrew and saving as docx the styles are saved as LTR Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.2.1 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eladh...@gmail.com Description: In Writer, when writing a new RTL document with locale defined as Hebrew the document behaves as though it's in RTL, but checking the Default Style "Text direction" is defined as "Use superordinate object settings". If you save the document as docx and reopen it you will find that the Default Style's "Text direction" is defined as "Left-to-right (LTR)". Applying Styles in the document now are LTR. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Define your locale as Hebrew in Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages 2. Restart Libreoffice Writer. 3. Write a document using styles (heading 1, Text Body etc.). Notice that the text is RTL (as it should be in this Locale). 4. Go to Styles > Styles and formatting and right click Default Style, selecting Modify... > Alignment. Notice that Properties > Text direction is set by default to "Use superordinate object settings" 5. Save the file as a docx file. 6. Close LO writer and reopen the saved docx file. 7. Write a line and apply a style (heading 1, Text Body etc.). Actual Results: The applied styles' Text direction is "Left-to-right (LTR)". Expected Results: *The same RTL styles from while writing the file would be applied. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Workaround *You can manually go to Styles > Styles and formatting and right click Default style, selecting Modify... > Alignment > Properties > Text direction and change it to "Right-to-left (RTL)" before you save.
