does not have anything to do with bug # bug 117239 !

Please read careful the mentioned infos.

This case here is not a real technical bug, because the standard shortcuts are
the same than for years.

But now it is a miss-information because the shortcuts are displayed in
menu-items, so a lot of people will try this and it will not work using german
keyboards. Then there is a problem with those users!

The easiest way to solve this problem: Do not display the shortcuts on both
menu-entries.

If you want to change either the help-pages... fine. no priority.

But the menu-entries should be changed!

Or better but I believe more difficult: for a german localisation change the
default shortcuts :)

OK, this is weird guys;

I had an idea and looked into the database connections for Base. There were
some. I deleted all of them and restarted Writer. Now Insert > Cross-reference
worked.

I re-instituted the Base mysql connection, which is on a local Ubuntu Server.

Tried Insert > Cross-reference again and it failed as previously described.

As I said, weird. And my head is too old and tired to even think about it.

So it seems if I want to use Insert > Cross-reference I better not have any
Base data connections configured.

Over to you... love to hear your thoughts.

load/save general>untick autorecovery

i already attach the file "test before.odt & test after.odt",it took me 6 tries
before "read error" appear, try open test before.odt and scroll to last page
then write a few alphabet/word and save wait 11-13 minute for remove from
memory to kick in, if "read error" does not appear close libreoffice(not
document) then open it again & try again.
if the bug still not reproduceable then i dont know what to say anymore...i
mean if you type on google "image disappear in libreoffice writer" some of the
result actually say something about "read error" but that just about it, no
detail on how to fix it whatsoever...if this still not helping then i guess im
stuck.

Confirmed.

Checking Tools -> Customize -> Keyboard for the LibreOffice radio button with
default user profile shows the "IBM Common User Access (CUA)" Ctrl+Insert and
Shift+Insert are assigned the same Copy & Paste functions as the Ctrl+C Ctrl+V
norms. The Shift+Del is assigned as Cut along with its norm Ctrl+X.

Watching with a Clipboard viewer (Inside Clipboard NIRSOFT, or
FreeClipboardViewer) they all function on Writer document canvas, but none
function manipulating text in Writer's Comment object pop-ups.

The alternate CUA shortcuts do work correctly from Calc's Comment objects.

This is definitely still a perpetually annoying issue.

In AutoCorrect -> Localized Options I have single quotes set to show curly
apostrophes (’ not '), but spellcheck only suggests words with straight ones.
I'm using the English dictionary, so I wonder why the opposite occurred with
Mihkel Tõnnov above. Though maybe something has changed in four years...

Currently using LibreOffice Writer 6.0.3.2 on Ubuntu 16.04.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83686

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I'm closing this bug report as INVALID.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117325] New: Firebird: Migration:

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117325

Bug ID: 117325
   Summary: Firebird: Migration:
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha1+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: drewjensen.in...@gmail.com

Description:
This was found while confirming another bug:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117301

The crash only happens with the error during migration. I did not check if any
error or only the error here, but I did check that it is not simply saving as
and then starting the migration on an hsql ODB that does not generate an error
during migrating and that did not cause a crash.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download and open attached ODB file.
2. Click on tables, when prompted to begin migration select 'Later'
3. Save the file with a new name.
4. The migration dialog is displayed again, select 'Yes'
5. The migration function displays a SQL error message, select 'Ok'

Actual Results:
LibO crashes

Expected Results:
Error message box closes.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117324] Hungarian dictionary contains invalid UTF-8 sequences

hu_HU.dic and hu_HU.aff file are not UTF-8 encoded files.

They contain UTF-8 encoded dictionary items (words and morphemes), and the
default 8-bit flags, see hunspell (5) manual page for dictionary format.

The suggested conversion duplicates the memory footprint of the flag vectors,
and decoding of the UTF-8 encoded flags slows down the dictionary loading by
70% (plain dic.) or 50% (alias compressed dic.), resulting noticeable
differences in the user interface of LibreOffice.

I tested again with the latest master.

Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)

I could not reproduce the original problem, but I could reproduce the second
problem.

If you resize the special characters dialog, then the character name, the
"Hexadecimal" and the "Decimal" fields are reset to their initial values.

The character name is the name that is displayed below the large character box
on the right. If you select the infinity character then it says INFINITY.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117324] New: Hungarian dictionary contains invalid UTF-8 sequences

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117324

Bug ID: 117324
Summary: Hungarian dictionary contains invalid UTF-8 sequences
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha1+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pan...@users.sourceforge.net

Description:
The Hungarian dictionary contains invalid UTF-8 sequences and cannot be used or
converted. For exact details, see
https://github.com/hunspell/hunspell/issues/559

Steps to Reproduce:
Open hu_HU_u8.aff in gedit

sudo apt install hunspell-hu
gedit /usr/share/hunspell/hu_HU.aff --encoding=UTF-8

Actual Results:
Bugged behavior (output)

Gedit shows error. If by any chance it tries to interpret the file as
ISO-8859-15 open the file with --encoding option in gedit.

Expected Results:
Expected behavior (output)

No error should be shown by the text editor. Valid UTF-8 is expected.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Solution

Invalid UTF appears only in comments and in flag vectors.

Upstream is here https://sourceforge.net/projects/magyarispell/ , open the
source tarball.

The fix is in the file bin/u8myspell. The following script should fix it
completely.

#!/bin/bash
set -x
export LANG=en_US
export LC_ALL=C

case $# in
0|1|2) echo "u8myspell - converts MySpell dictionaries to UTF-8
usage: u8myspell source_name output_name source_charset"; exit 1;;
esac

i=$1
o=$2
charset=$3
localdir="$(dirname $0)"

iconv -f "$charset" -t UTF-8 "$i.dic" | sed -f "$localdir"/l1_u8.sed > "$o.dic"
iconv -f "$charset" -t UTF-8 "$i.aff" |
sed 's/^SET .*$/SET UTF-8\
FLAG UTF-8/' | sed -f "$localdir"/l1_u8.sed > "$o.aff"

Basically the latin2 is converted to utf8 and the command FLAG UTF-8 is
additionally issued in .aff.

Looks the same as me trying to print a landscape format on Linux. Nope... PDF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117322] New: Unwanted code present when exporting to ePub in 6.0.2.1 from Writer - Windows 10

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117322

Bug ID: 117322
Summary: Unwanted code present when exporting to ePub in
6.0.2.1 from Writer - Windows 10
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release

OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kstnshad...@gmail.com

Description:
Hi!

I'm having the following issue when exporting to ePub:

I have a 100+ page document that looks fine on LO but when I export it to ePub
there are random sections of text (full paragraphs and pages) that have weird
decorations that I didn't even know existed in LO.

I've download Sigil to find out the issue and I can see code like:

* < p style="margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; text-align: justify; ">< span
style="background-color: transparent; font-effect: outline; font-family: 'Linux
Libertine Display G5'; font-size: 10.pt; font-style: normal; font-weight:
normal; text-decoration: overline; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px #66; ">

* < /span>< span style="background-color: transparent; font-effect: outline;
font-family: 'Linux Libertine Display G5'; font-size: 10.pt; font-style:
normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: overline; text-shadow: 1px 1px
1px #66; "> and others similar to those.
Other instances of this show when "Line through" code is present, so I think It
might be a leftover from a time when I did that to something and maybe deleted
the line through text but I can't confirm that that's the only source of the
problem.

In Sigil I've found over 2000 (Not a typo, I do mean over two thousand)
instances of those annoying decorations in the whole document through the
"Find" feature.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of those lines of code within LO in order to
be able to make changes there and Export to ePub without having use Sigil to
fix the ePub version every time I make a tiny correction to the source?

None of this issues are shown in LO so I can't figure out how to delete the
code in it. Images:

LO Version:
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0dd2ccf43902d1e123ec304d0cf47a7fee44648c3cfd88f32624ef2f9deae942.png

ePub Version:

Code found in Sigil: https://i.imgur.com/RAzENhM.png

THANK YOU in ADVANCE! and keep up the good work :)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Export to ePub
2. Some text has weird decorations, others show as intended
3.

Actual Results:
Some Text shows weird decorations in ePub file that aren't present on Writer or
PDF format while others show formating as seen in Wirter

Expected Results:
All text to be shown in the format seen in Writer

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I've been using LO for a few years now and just found this issue as this is the
first time I try to export to ePub. Can't really get the isue to repeat as I'm
not aware of exactly how to go about on doing it. I tried creating new files
and test but it might be a thing that's been carried over from previous version
and I really don't know how to proceed.

ah- went through this here again and now the field is being created as TIME,
both for an empty table (migration runs without error) and when an error is
generated on importing the data, at which point if you save the file as
firebird and reopen it the empty table is there with a time field.

Changing summary, to reflect the error is only when there is data in that
field.

I could confirm the message
Incorrect type for setValue
appears when importing a table with TIME and values in this field.
Works well with DATE and DATETIME and values in the field.

The TIME-field isn't changed to any other field here. When importing without
values it is imported as TIME. I opened the tableeditor and see TIME, I could
save TIME-values without any problem.

Could be there is a different behavior when doing all this with LO 6.1. I
created the database for this test with LO 6.0.4.1 every time before importing
it. Doesn't test the side effects of LO 6.1 for HSQLDB.

This is a follow up to Bug 41915, which I split into 2 reports.

Currently the Name Box will Prefix a "_" when you enter a label that conflicts
with an existing name. Instead we should go to that cell. This is what
Gnumeric, Excel, and WPS Spreadsheet do. It will avoid confusion that silently
adding a "_" introduces.

Everything seems OK there. But still, fSigmaSlope = fRMSE / sqrt(fSumX2) is
wrong, since it's not giving the right value.

According to the specs in the link provided, sigma_slope should be S_m as in:
http://pages.mtu.edu/~fmorriso/cm3215/UncertaintySlopeInterceptOfLeastSquaresFit.pdf
page 5 (quick Google search).

Also still no formula highlighting while composing a formula in 6.1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117319] New: Bibliography character styles are reset to default when closing Bibliography editor via ‘Ok’ without doing any actual changes

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117319

Bug ID: 117319
Summary: Bibliography character styles are reset to default
when closing Bibliography editor via ‘Ok’ without
doing any actual changes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.5.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jakr...@gmail.com

Description:
I added bibliography entries and a Bibliography at the end of the document, and
then modified the character styles of the entries title component to show in
Italic (or Emphasis). After modifying the styles, they show correctly.

If I now click ‘Edit index’ on Bibliography but close the opened dialog
immediately via ‘Ok’ button without doing any actual changes, the styles are
reset to default (or something that seems like default). The styles will reset
also if I just click ‘Update index’ on Bibliography.

Clicking Bibliography > Edit index > Close doesn’t reset the styles.

The current behavior is unfortunate, since Bibliography style guides often
recommend Italic format for emphasis for certain components. References also
often change at the last minute so it’s not a complete solution to try apply
the styles only after the document is in some presumed final form.

Note: Only character styles that were tested were Emphasis and Teletype, but
it’s probable the problem involves all the default styles. Custom styles were
not tested.

Note2: Attached is Writer .odt file with two Bibliography entries and
Bibliography for quick testing. The entries should initially have the styles
shown, but they will be reset when doing the steps 8-10 or when updating the
index.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new empty Writer document

2. Add bibliography entry (Insert > Table of Contents and Index > Bibliography
Entry)
- Choose ‘From document content’
- Click New, then set Type as Book, give Short name, Author, Title and Year
- Click Ok > Insert

3.Add Bibliography to document (Insert > Table of Contents and Index > Table of
Contents, Index or Bibliography)
- Select Type: Bibliography
- Select tab: Entries
- Select Type: Book and Select element Ti in ‘Structure and Formatting’
- Set Character style to Emphasis
- Click Ok
4. Confirm that title in Bibliography entry is shown as Italic (Emphasis)
5. Save the document and close Writer
6. Restart Writer and open the saved document
7. Confirm the Bibliography entry has still Italic style
8. Click Bibliography > Edit index
9. Click Ok without changing anything
10. Confirm that Bibliography entry has no longer Italic style

Actual Results:
Italic style has been reset to default or something similar looking.

Expected Results:
Italic styles should persist over Edit index -> Ok

Reproducible: Always

documents that there is a Truetype feature in the hhea table caretSlopeRise,
caretSlopeRun, caretOffset (and italicAngle in the post table) Checking
Caladea-Italic as a random italic font I see it has these values set, so it
looks like we could pull the correct slant to use for the cursor out of the
font directly (like we do for ascent/descent). Looks initially plausible that
we could do something like this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117174] image in LibreOffice Writer keep disappearing after a few hour of use

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117174

I'm sorry to say that I cn't reproduce the bug. I tested it in 6.0.2.1 with my
settings as in comment 10, then in 5.4.6.1 with exactly your settings.
I opened a document I had prepared with 777 images, 18 tables, 77 frames and
some other text, it contains 113 pages and is about 40 MB. I scrolled to a page
without an image and left it rather for some hours than only for more than 10
minutes. Afterwards I scrolled through the entire document, from the first to
the last page, but got no message "read error".
Is there still a difference to what you have been doing?

The cause for your problem may perhaps lie somewhere in your system outside of
LibreOffice, or in conjunction with LibreOffice.
You say you are using Windows NT 6.1. According to Wikipedia this is Windows 7,
but I am no specialist, and following other remarks in this article this could
well be an internal name which is supplied in some circumstances.
Now I use Windows 10, but before I used Windows 7, and at that time I already
often worked with such files with dozens of images, too, and I never had the
problem.

I fear I cannot help you, but if you have a different scenario for testing, I
can do some more testing.

The expected value for the variance of the slope should be (J52)^2, not B36^2.
M52^2 is the variance of the slope calculated step by step, assuming the
intercept with the Y-axis is zero. As can be seen, the LINEST function is
returning the statistic sigma_slope as if the intercept with the Y-axis is
zero, which, in this case, isn't zero (close, but not zero).

EDITED: Wrong quantity (variance sigma_slope isn't right)

I've already tried in Excel and it's also wrong.

The expected value for the variance of sigma_slope should be (J52)^2, not
B36^2. M52^2 is the variance of sigma_slope calculated step by step, assuming
the intercept with the Y-axis is zero. As can be seen, the LINEST function is
returning the statistic sigma_slope as if the intercept with the Y-axis is
zero, which, in this case, isn't zero (close, but not zero).

The link in the OP points to the source code where that value is calculated,
and apparently it's wrong.

Hi Erkki,

I don't reproduce with
LO 5.4.3.2 Build ID: 92a7159f7e4af62137622921e809f8546db437e5
Threads CPU : 2; OS : Windows 6.1; UI Render : par défaut;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR); Calc: CL
where these shortcuts work.
Confirmed usage by searching this in Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insert_key
However, Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are the usual shortcuts to copy and paste into
LibreOffice.
But nothing prevents you from adding these shortcuts, since these combinations
are free.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117318] New: Wrong SIGMA SLOPE value calculated with LINEST function

2018-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117318

Bug ID: 117318
Summary: Wrong SIGMA SLOPE value calculated with LINEST
function
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pablofabian.wagnerbo...@gmail.com

Created attachment 141741
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=141741=edit
Sample data

I'm trying to obtain the uncertainty in the determination of the slope in a
linear regression analysis of some data. This sigma slope value is calculated
in LibreOffice as if the line intersects the (0,0) value (b=0 in y=mx+b),
regardless of what the "b" value is.

Here's where this value is actually calculated:
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/core/tool/interpr5.cxx#2464

I'm attaching a ODS spreadsheet as an example.
