Hi Sheldon,

Did you download a LibreOffice 64 bits wersion and keep the 32 bits Java
version? They have to match, and drivers for your scanner too. The simpler is
to keep the matching LibreOffice version with the JRE installed.
Does this solve your issue?

Have added a database with timestamp-field in HSQLDB. You have to set
ALTER TABLE "Table" ALTER COLUMN "Field" TIMESTAMP(6)
in Tolls > SQL before you could enter milliseconds.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117401] New: TABLE ⓘ ► Pasting from Calc cells int =?UTF-8?Q?o=20?="existing" Writer table does not work properly

2018-05-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117401

Bug ID: 117401
Summary: TABLE ⓘ ► Pasting from Calc cells into "existing"
Writer table does not work properly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sadegh_am...@yahoo.com

Description:
Back to basics
Need to do very simple operation:
Copy by selecting multiple cells in Calc and pasting into an "existing" table
in Writer. It does not work properly in LibreOffice 5. I know I can paste into
a new table and then copy and paste from there to the existing table but this
does not seem the straightforward way of doing it. Does not need even
formatting, just simple unformatted data transfer operation. Test on MS Word
and see how it does it.
Seem to be an issue inherited from OpenOffice.
But Get It Working

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Summary: Non-solid page borders appear corrupt in LibreOffice
Writer 6
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: quen...@nvaccess.org

Description:
When adding page borders, if a border such as one of the ones with two parallel
lines is chosen, only one line is visible, and the corners appear corrupt, as
in, they don't join.

If a solid single line border is used, it seems to work ok,

The width, padding, and shadow options all seem to do what they should, but
changing these values doesn't seem to affect the problem.

To reproduce, create a new blank document, add a page border to all four
borders, using the ninth non-blank border (the one that looks like two lines:
===). The problem exists with the default options, but setting the width
to something larger like 5 pt makes it even easier to see. And apply.

In earlier versions of LibreOffice I had this page border on a document set to
9.0 pt width, padding of 0.5cm all around, a custom colour and a bottom right
shadow at 0.3cm and it worked well. That same document, opened in LibreOffice
6 now has a corrupt border.

When saving the file to PDF, the border saves as visible in LibreOffice (that
is, PDF files saved from earlier versions have a good border, if I save a PDF
of the file now, the border appears corrupt, as it does in LO).

I'm running the latest Windows 10 insider build, and I do have a higher DPI set
(220% - which is the higher end of what Windows suggests for my 32" monitor).

Here is an image of the border settings and how the border appears:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5u9suehl8yh0y5w/LO%20Border.png

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a page border to a new or existing document.
2. Choose one of the multi-line borders (eg number 9: =) and ensure it is
set to all four borders.
3. Set any width / padding or leave the default.

Actual Results:
Border shows only one line, and corners have strange blocks and do not line up.

Expected Results:
Expected to see a nice double line border like train tracks neatly around the
document.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69254] Correct handling of font families (weight, style, stretches) on Mac

2018-05-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

It is surprising after reading through that entire thing that the bug was
marked fixed.
The tables in Comment 8 show the same issues we have here.
The same OS2 weight being mapped to multiple Pango-CoreText weights.
The results in the different tables were all over the place.

It is easy to see why Fira Sans Book, Regular, and Medium get broken.

I expect that any font utility will work correctly.
The three different font management utilities on my Win 7 system all list the
fonts correctly, and display them correctly.

The fonts all display correctly in InDesign and in QuarkXpress.

> > Or can someone please tell ignorant me how it possibly can work.

>
> Keep in mind than the same behavior (almost) is observable with LibreOffice

I also read through
Bug 98596 - Correct handling of font families (weight, style, stretches) on
Linux
before posting here.
The issues seem pretty much the same.
Multiple fonts being confused as one based on a faulty weighting system.

I tested the fonts mentioned here and in that bug on my Windows 7 + LO6.0.3.2.
Fira Sans, Overpass, EB Garamond 12, and Lato (9 weights), and others.

With one commercial Pro font I gave-up and edited the font family to be unique
for each weight and width I wanted to use.
Works fine now in LO6.

This issue appears to affect Mac, Linux, and Windows pretty much the same.

>From these two bug discussions, and the Pango bug discussion you linked to
above, it appears this will not be working properly any time soon.

So for now the workarounds are:
 - limited fonts installed from a font family to avoid conflicts
or
 - edit the fonts to make the family name unique for each weight/width

Since I wasn't able to reproduce the issue building a chart in a new, blank,
simple document:
I post here the original .xls file, from where the .ods I first posted was
derived by copy-paste.
Printing this one to PDF, the charts are all offset by some pixels; a
screenshot will follow. (The issue here isn't as evident as before, but since
this is the source of my data, it may be relevant).

With internal HSQLDB you could change the precision of a timestamp to
ALTER TABLE "Table" ALTER COLUMN "Field" TIMESTAMP(6) and it will save
milliseconds also.

With Firebird I couldn't get milliseconds, but the documentation for Firebird
says it shouldn't be any problem.
If I start
select cast('NOW' as timestamp) from rdb$database
in Tools > SQL
it doesn't give milliseconds back, but the documentation of Firebird 2.5 shows
milliseconds ...
Same behavior with
select cast('NOW' as time) from rdb$database

If I understand the documentation the right way the milliseconds should be
shown per default.
select CURRENT_TIME(3) from rdb$database
doesn't show the milliseconds also. So it seems to be impossible to save
time-values, which have to be more precision than seconds. For saving results
of sports unusable.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108641] Bibliography does not pick up added entries from the database

2018-05-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108641

I have not tried http://www.dusystems.com/oobf.html because of the need to have
a stable solution going forward.

I have tested the database option many times over various releases but not
anymore recently due to lack of time.

At this time, I have entered the Bibliography information in the document
itself instead of the database. Hopefully this provides better stability.

One question.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117393] New: Font size wrong in font-scale.pptx

2018-05-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117393

Bug ID: 117393
Summary: Font size wrong in font-scale.pptx
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.1.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chris.sherloc...@gmail.com

Description:
In the test file font-scale.pptx LibreOffice is showing the wrong font size for
Calibri on MacOS 10.13.4 High Sierra (have not tested on other OS versions). If
you open the document, then click on the series of As, then it shows that the
font size is 24.2, but in Word this font size should be 27.

Earliest version of LibreOffice I've tested on is:

Version: 6.0.1.1
Build ID: 60bfb1526849283ce2491346ed2aa51c465abfe6
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.13.4; UI render: default;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); Calc: group

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open font-scale.pptx
2. Click on the A

Actual Results:
Note that the font is Calibri, with size 24.2

Expected Results:
Should be Calibri of size 27

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I tracked this down because actually one of our unit tests fails anyway - run:

make CppunitTest_sd_export_ooxml2 CPPUNIT_TEST_NAME=testFontScale

This is a link to my Google Drive to a .tar.gz archive containing five .png
screenshots: :
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LChDpC2aHVGYec6gMl-0X52MpghULhli

1.png shows a new document (Writer just opened), with paragraph styles
displaying correctly;

2.png shows an existing saved document, with paragraph styles displaying
incorrectly;

3.png shows the same existing saved document, with character styles (for
example) displaying correctly. The problem, such as it is, lies only with
paragraph styles (as far as I've noticed...)

What is really interesting is that if another instance of Writer is also open,
with a 'new' document (and paragraph styles displaying correctly), clicking in
the new window causes the paragraph styles in the first window (with the
existing document open) to immediately display correctly - and clicking on the
first instance of Writer (the existing saved document) causes the second
instance of Writer to immediately display paragraph styles incorrectly... as
per 4.png and 5.png.

NB - I'VE JUST NOTICED THAT WRITER WORKS CORRECTLY WITH .ODT DOCUMENTS, MY
PROBLEMS WERE WITH .DOCX DOCUMENTS...

Some contextual stuff wasnt show everytime. Eg. In tabbed toolbar the draw tab
is hidden by default cause writer or calc are no drawing apps.

In the standard toolbar you can click on draw functions and an additional
toolbar with all drawing actions was shown. In nb l need the same. Click on an
button to show the hidden drawing tab.
