So is this bug then about making the title bar blend into the rest of the
window, or makining the Firefox theme thing (that I have never, ever, heard
anybody else mention, at least not for the Mac) spread into the title bar? Two
entirely different things. And as the initial reporter calls himself "retired",
I guess we will never know his/her opinion. Matthew, please file a new bug
about the Firefox thing. This bug should be about what the initial bug reporter
intended.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117790] New: Caption order, caption positions for Lithuanian language

2018-05-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117790

Bug ID: 117790
Summary: Caption order, caption positions for Lithuanian
language
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: opensuse.lietuviu.ka...@gmail.com

Description:
Caption order should default to “Numbering first” for Lithuanian language.
After number, word should be lower case.
Table's caption should be by default before table, not below table.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Lithuanian environment in LibreOffice Writer add
a) table
b) image
2. Insert caption

Actual Results:
Now if I add caption, I get by default:
Lentelė 1: Title.
Paveikslas 1: Title.

Expected Results:
But caption order should be:
"1 lentelė. Title." (and first letter L in "lentelė" is lower case)
"1 paveikslas. Title." OR "1 pav. Title." (we much more often use abrevation,
not full word)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

@Tor
Respectfully, I think we're more in agreement than disagreement. I agree that
LO should indeed look like an application that belongs on MacOS when on MacOS -
not a purely "neutral cross platform" app.

The problem is it currently doesn't entirely look like it belongs. In most
modern MacOS apps, the very top of the window is visually unified with what is
immediately beneath, be it tabs, toolbars, buttons, search boxes or whatever
else. However, LO windows still have a clearly delineated title bar, complete
with mostly unused space except for window buttons and centred title text, and
a sharp border at the bottom of the title bar like all apps used to have in the
old days.

My point in addition to this in comment#1 meant that, if the visuals of the
title bar are in fact updated to look like a modern MacOS app, the only viable
and indeed reasonable thing to then do with the "Persona/Firefox" theming
mechanism (which LO still supports natively, even though it may not be much
used - it is in Options - LibreOffice - Personalisation - Own Theme) is for
whatever background image it specifies to spread fully across the "area
formerly known as the title bar", including the topmost part of the window - I
had no other meaning than that in terms of cross-platform UI. Either that, or
not to support it at all any longer, which I think would be a shame.

Setting this back to NEW as I believe this should sufficiently clarify the
meaning of the bug - but I will also butt out at this point

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97106] FORMATTING: Calc wrap text setting in Cell Formatting not persisted

2018-05-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97106

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I think data on pivot table are always sorted by columns/rows order. It's
possible to edit the row/columns field to sort on ascending/descending order
and choose to sort by data fields.

Actually my initial description is incorrect, ^F doesn't use the text from the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117785] New: Pivot Table Sorts inoperative

2018-05-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117785

Bug ID: 117785
   Summary: Pivot Table Sorts inoperative
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.1.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jd...@jd4x4.net

Description:
Pivot tables with multiple columns and rows have been incomplete but at least
operated on the first defined column and row fields, but in this version they
appear to be totally inoperative.

This would otherwise be considered Severity "Minor" since there is a
work-around by copying the table to a new sheet and sorting and/or rearranging,
but given that this has been dysfunctional in the last several releases, I
consider it a bug.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a pivot table that counts a column cell which matches a row cell (a
"matrix")
2.in either the creation options or in the resulting pivot table:
3.Try to sort by rows and/or
4.Try to sort by columns

Actual Results:
no sort

Expected Results:
sort

to reproduce:
- Where do you copy the text (same document, web-page, PDF-document, ...)?
- Do all paste-options fail (ctrl+V, context menue, toolbar icon)?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' once the informations are provided.

Also the icons in the pane "Tasks" will only be displayed in new theme after

I confirm the behaviour, but I'm not sure, if it is a bug or not. I would
expect the result you expect, but the actual behaviour also might be an easy
way to search for a specific phrase in a text.

So let's ask the experts from the design-team.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117784] New: "Bullets and Numbering" menu does not show any dialog

2018-05-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117784

Bug ID: 117784
Summary: "Bullets and Numbering" menu does not show any dialog
   Product: LibreOffice Online
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rcne...@gmail.com

Description:
Bullets and numbering dialog is not shown when the corresponding menu is
clicked.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open any document with LibreOffice Online.
2. click on "Format" and then "Bullets and Numbering".
3. The dialog won't open. No error message is informed.

Actual Results:
Bullets and Numbering dialog is not shown.

Expected Results:
Bullets and numbering dialog should be opened like any other dialog (Format ->
Paragraph works, for example).

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
 * I also tried to do same action through browser console performing
"map.sendUnoCommand('.uno:OutlineBullet')" but no dialog either.
 * Performing "map.sendUnoCommand('.uno:ParagraphDialog')" for example, works
perfectly.

Curiously tried on master/6.1 (Linux debug build), already when the .odt is
loaded (it takes a lot of time) 3.6GB were eaten, after copy-pasting to Calc
(again taking time) 7.7GB were used, but no crash, and cells could be travelled
and used. Likely a clipboard copy of the Writer document is created, plus some
import document overhead in Calc, 10 rows with values don't take that much.

Not much Calc can do about, this seems to be a question of available memory.
Closing.

Repro in 6.1+.

Question is whether this really is a bug.
https://help.libreoffice.org/6.1/en-US/text/swriter/guide/text_capital.html
says:
"When you apply formatting to your text by Format - Character, the text stays
the same, it is only displayed in another way. On the other hand, when you
choose Format - Text or Format - Text - Change Case, the text is permanently
changed."

Looks to me like it is, Title case and Small caps should display all text,
regardless of previous permanent format, as requested.

For me it means that it is consistently wrong, only less noticeable when
selecting a single word. Unless selection is performed by cursor movement -
with shift-keys or with a mouse, it should not affect the cursor position. And
actually I know only two such commands: ^A to select all and double-click to
select a word, so consistently probably is a too grand word for it, both is
better. You mention a paragraph selection, but I googled hard and failed to
find a paragraph selection command.

I also can reproduce it, but for it's consistent behaviour, because cursor
always moves to the end of the selected text (paragraph, word, ...).

So for me NOTABUG.

More testing: on Linux with 3.6.7.2, both Ř and Č are raised so the carets are
cut off. With 3.3, the Č is by default so high that the caret is cut off.

On Windows with 3.5.0, the Ř is raised, but caret is not cut off and Č does not
move and is not too high.

So I'm not sure, if bibisecting is worth it.
