Couldn't reproduce it.

But I also couldn't follow your steps, because I couldn't find the setting
"text direction" in Format => Page => Page. I can find it in Format =>
Paragraph => Alignment: Text directon "Right-to-left (RTL)"

The text that is correctly positioned uses
Table Format->Text Flow->Text Orientation = "Vertical"

The incorrectly positioned vertical text uses:
Table Format->Text Flow->Text Orientation = "Horizontal"
with a Character->Position->Rotation = 90

One approach to fixing this might be to add a new Vertical 90, Text Flow
option. Otherwise, we'd probably need a special compatibility mode to avoid
regressions in ODT that use character rotation in tables.

Mark,
You're working on this area now. Any thoughts on this?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117946] New: Impress: Slide Sorter: Ctrl+mouse wheel should change slides per row

2018-05-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117946

Bug ID: 117946
Summary: Impress: Slide Sorter: Ctrl+mouse wheel should change
slides per row
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: explore...@gmail.com

Description:
This is a usability problem.

Ctrl + mouse wheel has become a UI convention for zooming in or out. However,
in LibreOffice Impress's "Slide Sorter", Ctrl + mouse wheel does nothing.

Although there exists a "slides per row" up-down control in the Slide Sorter
toolbar on the top, I expect it works like zooming, and that Ctrl + mouse wheel
should change "slides per row" without using the control explicitly.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an ODP file with many slides (about 60 slides or more).
2. Go to "View" -> "Slide Sorter".
3. Move mouse cursor over main slides area, and Ctrl + mouse wheel.

Actual Results:
It does nothing, not even scroll the slides screen.

Expected Results:
It changes slides per row similar to zooming in or out the
slides.

Reproducible: Always

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34231] Icons with black background in "Target in Document" dialog

2018-05-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117924] Pivot Tables Sort Only on First Row or Column, and only after created

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117924

Jim Davis changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Resolution|NOTABUG |WONTFIX

If the only sort available after the table is created is to the first column or
row then you should only show the sort option in the dropdown for the first row
or column.

Additionally, you should remove the sort options from the data field options in
the pivot table layout dialog since it is "expected" that sorts are only
possible on the first row and/or column.

These two corrections would keep people from wasting time experimenting with
presented options that are not intended to be functional.

It "worksforme" with YOU because you have rearranged the columns. The sample I
attached is in fact not the desired layout, but rather a workaround because
sorts are only possible on the first columns and/or rows.

The desired table result is as shown in the additional attachment BUT SORTED BY
COLUMN TWO AND ROW TWO. The "Matrix to 3C" sheet is the copy, paste, sort, and
reformat that is required because of the sort limitation, so I'm well aware of
the problem and unfortunate workaround that you say "worksforme".

Anything less requires a "workaround" and unnecessary time spent.

I sense that you won't acknowledge it as a "bug" so I'll change this report to
"VERIFIED", "WONTFIX".

It would imply such changes on the ODF specification, and the program, that it
won't happen in years.

Maybe you can do it with macros, even I'm sure it's not an easy task.

By the way, remember that if the file it's not password protected, data can be
manipulated editing the file directly.

Silvo, thank for your report. I also cannot reproduce on version 6.1.0.0-beta1.

However, when opening a new Impress Presentation or a Base Database, a modal is
displayed, where you can setup the document. In these situations, Command + Q
doesn't quit the program.

If you experience these specific situations, could you detail more? Probably
this was the implementation intent, but you can mark the bug with the Keywork
'needsUXEval' and ask for a comment of the UX team - they would reply shortly
after.

I have set this the status to NEEDINFO. If the aforementioned situations do not
fit your problem, please change it to UNRESOLVED.

Sample modified to show how to sort works.

Works for me.

But I think something is missing here.
If you want to sort by the third column, move it to be the first column.
Otherwise the sort in menu field, sort the field without change the order of
previous columns only sort if the field has several values for the field of
column before.

On your sample file modified, change the sort order of the second column, and
you can see how it works.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113539] FILEOPEN ODT: Slower opening of file containing a large table (25 rows 2000 columns)

2018-05-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113539

Hi all,

so IIRC the old implementation was unsafe at any speed: It had shared ownership
of the object an manually tracked it from multiple places (badly).

So whatever the solution to this is, its not reverting to that.

Both the before and after the path, the object was/is heap allocated. The
shared_ptr timingwise just adds synchronization. The way forward would be one
of:

- unfsck this design, so that in doesnt need shared ownership
- make whatever is using massive amounts of unocrsrs in these example files use
something more lowlevel (and faster) instead

Clearly 1/ is the best long-term solution, but it might be quite tricky to
unwind this hairball (though admittedly I havent look at trying that yet).

Description:
In the Statistics section of the Properties menu (File->Properties->Statistics)
I can see the line count for the enitre document. It would be nice and quite
useful to see the line count of a text selection in the Word Count tool (the
one that can be accessed by clicking on the word count displayed on the status
bar at the bottom).

If I'm not wrong this feature is available in M$ Word and I have a particular
use case where I need it. It seems to me that at the moment there is no way to
get this kind of line count in LO Writer, am I correct? I think it could be a
useful feature to have and it shouldn't be so hard to implement.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LO Writer
2. Select some text
3. Open the Word Count tool

In the Word Count tool only word and character count are displayed

Expected Results:
The World Count tool should display also line count for the current text

Anyway, the problem described is not exclusively bound to "Curve" also

The Dark Gray 3 or Light Gray 2 of comment 21 are not appropriate as we'd have
to use their RGB value rather than a defined color constant for the
Autocolors[].

Rather, I've no objection to providing increased contrast by changing the
DRAWGRID
aAutocolors[] slot's color constant [1] from COL_LIGHTGRAY rgb(0xc0,0xc0,0xc0)
to COL_GRAY7 rgb(0x66,0x66,0x66) [2].

Logic needed to scale the grid dots on zoom is a bit more involved, but the
color change over is simple and would make folks happier as a default.

@Adolfo, Samuel? One of you care to push a patch for testing?

The colour in the MS Word exported PDF is correct. Both the LibreOffice
