To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118442] New: BASIC: Converting a negative number string with decimals to double asserts in debug builds

2018-06-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118442

Bug ID: 118442
Summary: BASIC: Converting a negative number string with
decimals to double asserts in debug builds
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

Running the BASIC code

> Sub Test
> Dim f As Double
> f = " -12.20"
> End Sub

brings assert in debug builds:

> ---
> Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
> ---
> Assertion failed!
>
> Program: C:\lo\core\instdir\program\sblo.dll
> File: C:\lo\core\include\rtl/ustrbuf.hxx
> Line: 490
>
> Expression: index >= 0 && index < pData->length

The problem is that the number string is prepended with spaces and/or minus
sign, which is not accounted for in ImpScan in basic/source/sbx/sbxscan.cxx.

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/56611 fixes this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118304] Graphical illustrations regarding characters are not displayed according to the font that the application itself chose to focused on.

2018-06-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118304

I can not reproduce this on Windows 10 Home 64-bit en-US with either default
rendering or OpenGL with

Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 7e1cabd96526cb7befc5ea5073358093efbe12d0
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2018-06-28_00:54:11
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL

However here are more refined STR, require two fonts that contain the glyph for
the target Unicode codepoint 21c6--so DejaVu Sans and Cambria

1. set font for Default paragraph to DejaVu Sans
2. set the Unicode subset to "Arrows", i.e. open the droplist and enter A-A-A-A
3. select the target"Leftwards Arrow over Rightwards Arrow"
4. the selected glyph in the grid is highlight Blue
5. double click or use Insert button to insert to document canvas
6. use font font listbox and select Cambria
7. the glyph preview will change to render in the new font--with the U+21c6
glyph present in the Cambria font--a preview is shown

If this is done with a font without coverage of the codepoints from the Arrows
block--the grid will be repositioned to a different block and a different glyph
from the grid will show "gray" positioned.

Confirmed that both using "Never recalculate" and "Always recalculate" for
"Recalculation on file load"->"Excel 2007 and newer", the opening time is ~same
long (with recalculation), while it should be much shorter for the "Never
recalculate" case.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118441] New: VBA macro unnecessarily recalculated

2018-06-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118441

Bug ID: 118441
   Summary: VBA macro unnecessarily recalculated
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.beta2+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: perf
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu
Blocks: 108908

Created attachment 143195
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=143195=edit
Sample XLSM

The attached XLSM spreadsheet contains 7000 rows with a simple summation macro
(sums values in B-Z columns, which aren't filled, so the result is always 0).
In Excel the file opens in ~1s.

In Calc it opens in ~23s.

If macros are disabled, rows 2-7000 show #VALUE! error, which means those are
the ones being calculated, when they shouldn't.

Observed using LO 6.1 beta2 / Windows 7.

OK, do you understand what I am proposing?
The Search box alone is less than 200 px high. By moving it above the tree and
not leaving it under the tree it will be much more visible, at the same time
the tree will still remain visible under it.

Um, the Bookmarks div's computed height is 786 px, so I don't get where you got

For mobile layouts (width smaller than 960px), it is collapsed.

For desktop layouts, we would have to remove the feature of showing the current
item, which was requested by bubli:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=help.git;a=blob;f=help3xsl/help.js;hb=HEAD#l106

Swapping the vertical position of index and contents is a trade-off of
something - if you put the contents to the bottom, you lose the immediate
visual context of where you are in the page tree.

One option, for wider screens, would be to use a three-column layout with the
index and contents in the sides and article in the middle.

After publishing, I thought about the shared files that one hopes will not be
modified. So I think that:
1) A more detailed message (including the amount that was not replaced by being
in protected sections).
2) This message, more visible and / or highlighted (color, bold, framed, etc.)
because it is lost among all the contents of the window.

No pb about the delay, I understand the goal is to avoid it at the launching of
LO.
The real fix would be a way to diminish the loading time of it but that's
another story.

Suggested fix (for 6.1) at https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/56613/ . The same
as the "band-aid". Sure, it introduces a delay, but that is the same delay
there used to be after typing the first character in Writer, or before a Writer
window opens (it depends on platform when the delay happened).

2018-06-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118423

Band-aid fix:
In instdir/share/extensions/dict-pt-BR/Lightproof.py add this line before the
return on line 153:
import lightproof_impl_pt_BR
So you've got:
151 # XServiceDisplayName
152 def getServiceDisplayName(self, aLocale):
153 import lightproof_impl_pt_BR
154 return lightproof_impl_pt_BR.name

Again, it's just a band-aid, I don't think it's the right fix.

The pb is Writing aids lists "language modules" which include
"Lightproof grammar checker (Portuguese Brazilian)"
So if the module isn't imported at this moment, "lightproof_impl_pt_BR" var is
unknown from Python and so it crashes.

Of course, with the band-aid, a delay appears when clicking on "Writing aids"
since it loads some info.

Minor changes can have large impact :-). Bibisect 'pattern' is more or less
normal (except for the skip). Anyway, I'm not in the mood for a third bibisect
attempt. First attempt ended somewhere in the Calc code

Btw, the profile folder seems to influence the bibisect. Deleting it for every
bibisect step seems to be necessary.

Good catch.

1. Open Help-About
2. Select and copy text and immediately click Close
3. You can see it takes 6 seconds until window is closed.
Repro way back to OO and now with 6.2+ master in Windows 7.

Also reproduced slowness in Draw with text box in master.
1. Create text box with some text
2. Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, click outside, Ctrl+V
3. You see it takes time to paste.

I'm not seeing this issue any more with the sample file at all

I think it may be related to Microsoft having aligned the code base across all
platforms since the start of 2018. Tested on Mac Word 16.9.1

So, would this be not our bug, or is it still a bug for older versions of Mac
Office?

Lookup how? There are no formulas in the document, using a simple Find or
Find the cell in C884 is found and there seems to be no other value

If you used the VLOOKUP() function (which isn't anywhere in your document) then
make sure that either the range to be looked up (here the Unique# column) is
sorted ascending if the 4th parameter 'Sort order' is not given or another
value than 0 (for range-lookup), or specify the value 0 as 4th argument fo an
unsorted lookup.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118346] Slow performance in Draw with (moderately) complex drawings

2018-06-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118346

Hi all - I'll try to put together an appropriate, non-proprietary sample.

It seems to be related to zoom - these are large drawings, both in complexity
(not huge by that measure) and by page size, which presumably maps in some way
to the spatial address space (I add only to be clear that I understand that
page sizes in physical measurements are meaningless).

If I zoom in to 1:1 (click on view, wait for the menu to open, click on zoom,
wait for the pop-out menu to open, click on 100%, wait for redraw, after that,
most drawings seem pretty normal in terms of performance.

Also, when the redraw/UI is really slow - it is slow across the whole system,
not just LO tasks. It is as if there is some UI management/redraw function
that is getting very unhappy. htop shows only one CPU in use, but maxed out
(100%) constantly.

Tasks that don't require UI interaction are normal (I'm sure not /all/ but the
ones I've tested). There's no stuttering in Clementine music playback. Mouse
movement is normal, etc.

I'll try to get you something more useful than this shortly.

Checked those linked there, didn't see a duplicate or even one that was very
close. But on the up side I did recheck a couple of those, so that was a
positive ;)

Also, shouldn't this just be added to the list 'depends on' to 106773 rather
saying 106773 blocks this issue or am I misunderstanding something how that
works?
