https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76104 --- Comment #8 from QA Administrators --- ** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118510] New: Libreoffice kills my pc (prevents it from waking from suspend)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118510 Bug ID: 118510 Summary: Libreoffice kills my pc (prevents it from waking from suspend) Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eliasz...@yahoo.com Description: Hi hello. I've been having a problem now pretty much ever since Kubuntu 18.04 came out where whenever I happen to have libreoffice open on my computer when it goes into suspend mode, it prevents it from waking up. The fans turn on and the lights turn on, indicating it has awoken but the screen never turns on, remains idle. You can reproduce the error by setting your powerdevil settings to suspend the PC after any number of minutes and then opening libreoffice and waiting for said time to elapse. Your screen will never wake up but there may be other indicators that give the impression that the PC is on. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set kubuntu 18.04 powerdevil settings to suspend the PC after any number of time of your choosing (for testing purposes just use 1 minute) 2. open libreoffice writer 3. wait for the time until suspend mode is activated to elapse 4. Attempt to wake the PC from suspend Your screen should remain idle but your computer lights and fans might activate. Actual Results: Screen remains idle when attempting to resume from suspend. Computer does not awake from suspend. Expected Results: The software should not lock me out of my computer. I am very worried that my documents will be destroyed some time because of this. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Very worried that my documents will be corrupted and destroyed by this error since I have to forcefully reboot my PC every time it happens. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I assumed that at least OP would notice that someone made another bug as "see also", and look into. Turns out that explicit explanations are necessary. When it comes to reasonings like "I tell you that most data in the wild have headers!" - "no I tell you that most are headless!" - these reasonings are always based on personal bias. If one mainly sees problems from one area, one necessarily takes one's situation as universal. But bugs in the tracker are more objective, and their count/CC numbers tells us more realistic picture. And until there are more substantial evidence that more people are affected by status quo than they were for previous state, I strongly advise *not* to change it. The logic tells, btw, that since current behaviour is consistent with that of Excel, then more people would be ready for and used to it, so changing this would affect more people in negative way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Press Shift+Space to select a row or Ctrl+Space to select a column 4. Use Shift + Arrows to select a couple more rows/columns 5. Use Shift + Arrow in opposite direction to unselect what became selected in step 4 Actual Results: Each time step 4 is performed, the event listener prints out an event (good). Each time step 5 is performed, the event listener does NOT print out an event (bad). Expected Results: Each time step 4 or step 5 were performed, the event listener would print out an event. It's true that in some situation, first row is not header but data, but this should be an exception. If you check all of your data, I bet at least 99% of them have row headers. So, sorting first row should be considered as an *exception* because it's a minority case.
