** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Given your investigation, I believe the most logical introduction of the bug
was in the switch mentioned in the RTF metabug post 25:

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81234#c25

It seems like a bunch of /other/ bugs were all quashed with that switch, so
it's no surprise that a smaller corner case like this was missed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118510] New: Libreoffice kills my pc (prevents it from waking from suspend)

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118510

Bug ID: 118510
Summary: Libreoffice kills my pc (prevents it from waking from
suspend)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eliasz...@yahoo.com

Description:
Hi hello.

I've been having a problem now pretty much ever since Kubuntu 18.04 came out
where whenever I happen to have libreoffice open on my computer when it goes
into suspend mode, it prevents it from waking up. The fans turn on and the
lights turn on, indicating it has awoken but the screen never turns on, remains
idle.

You can reproduce the error by setting your powerdevil settings to suspend the
PC after any number of minutes and then opening libreoffice and waiting for
said time to elapse. Your screen will never wake up but there may be other
indicators that give the impression that the PC is on.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set kubuntu 18.04 powerdevil settings to suspend the PC after any number of
time of your choosing (for testing purposes just use 1 minute)
2. open libreoffice writer
3. wait for the time until suspend mode is activated to elapse
4. Attempt to wake the PC from suspend
Your screen should remain idle but your computer lights and fans might
activate.

Actual Results:
Screen remains idle when attempting to resume from suspend. Computer does not
awake from suspend.

Expected Results:
The software should not lock me out of my computer. I am very worried that my
documents will be destroyed some time because of this.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Very worried that my documents will be corrupted and destroyed by this error
since I have to forcefully reboot my PC every time it happens.

Nobody screaming doesn't mean they're fine with the options. They may just
don't know where to shout. But I agree with your suggestion here.

Agree. Don't make every language use the same font. Sometimes it's not
because, for example, Chinese and alphanumeric have nothing in common. For me,
the (half sized) alphanumeric characters in some Chinese fonts look so
terrible!

And based on this, I see marking this as a dupe for bug 90393 as *very* wrong
move, since it makes the picture skewed drastically.

(In reply to horus from comment #10)

The bug 91305 that I mentioned as See Also is where the change was introduced
(and where reasons are given). I assumed that at least OP would notice that
someone made another bug as "see also", and look into. Turns out that explicit
explanations are necessary.

When it comes to reasonings like "I tell you that most data in the wild have
headers!" - "no I tell you that most are headless!" - these reasonings are
always based on personal bias. If one mainly sees problems from one area, one
necessarily takes one's situation as universal. But bugs in the tracker are
more objective, and their count/CC numbers tells us more realistic picture. And
until there are more substantial evidence that more people are affected by
status quo than they were for previous state, I strongly advise *not* to change
it. The logic tells, btw, that since current behaviour is consistent with that
of Excel, then more people would be ready for and used to it, so changing this
would affect more people in negative way.

This has nothing to do with Wildcard search, the document has Regular
Expressions enabled.

This is not a bug. One has to understand how regular expressions work.
Specifically the ? and * operators can not be used the same as in wildcards.

3?5 means zero or one 3 followed by one 5. For the sequence "345" this matches
only 5.

3*5 means zero or more 3 followed by one 5. For the sequence "345" this matches
only 5.

For the available metacharacters, operators and set expressions in ICU and thus
LibreOffice see http://userguide.icu-project.org/strings/regexp

Was able to reproduce as described. When my cursor is in the protected section,

Because your request is the same as in the other ticket, just in the opposite
way. And I disagree that most sheets have a header. Plus, it's easy to
recognize that your header wasn't sorted while it's hard the other way around.

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I disagree. Microsoft Excel 2007-2013 XML (.xlsx)(*.xlsx) is supported and so
is Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Template (.xlt)(*.xlt). I consider the omission of
Excel 2007-2013 XML Macro-Enabled Template (.xltm) is enough to call it a bug.

Anyway, the fix is fairly trivial - a new menu item and one word in the output
file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118508] New: Accessibility events missing when enter row/column unselected in Calc

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118508

Bug ID: 118508
Summary: Accessibility events missing when enter row/column
unselected in Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jdi...@igalia.com

Description:
Because Calc doesn't notify Orca when an entire row or column has become
unselected, Orca cannot notify the user.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch the attached pyatspi accessible-event listener in a terminal
2. Launch Calc and give focus to the spreadsheet table
3. Press Shift+Space to select a row or Ctrl+Space to select a column
4. Use Shift + Arrows to select a couple more rows/columns
5. Use Shift + Arrow in opposite direction to unselect what became selected in
step 4

Actual Results:
Each time step 4 is performed, the event listener prints out an event (good).

Each time step 5 is performed, the event listener does NOT print out an event
(bad).

Expected Results:
Each time step 4 or step 5 were performed, the event listener would print out
an event.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118507] New: Orientation Icon Portrait also Changes from Portrait to Landscape and Icon Landscape also changes from Landscape to Portrait

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 118507
Summary: Orientation Icon Portrait also Changes from Portrait
to Landscape and Icon Landscape also changes from
Landscape to Portrait
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In order to reproduce the bug:

[1] Create new text document. Page is in portrait mode
[2] Enable Orientation icon in toolbar Formatting:
 (a) Display context menu of Formatting toolbar.
 (b) Select: Visible Buttons > Orientation
[3] Click icon Orientation. Symbols Portrait and Landscape are displayed.
[4] Click Portrait. Page changes to landscape.

Expected behaviour: No change of orientation or better display a message:
“Orientation is already Portrait.”. Possible is also also to grey the icon
Portrait if the orientation is already Portrait.

Bug probably has occured since version 5.3.0. In versions before the icon
Orientation does not exist.

Tested with version 6.0.5 (64 bit, Win 10)

Text search using glob() sytle "wildcard" syntax was implemented for bug 72196
[1] and compatibility with MS Excel products.

Otherwise IIUC Search and our Regex implementation is provided by ICU libs.

They are completely different search implementations. Personally I see no
reason to go back in and adjust the search logic or resulting pointer--but
others can decide that.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118506] New: Try to Change the Page Orientation Crashes LibreOffice

2018-07-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118506

Bug ID: 118506
Summary: Try to Change the Page Orientation Crashes LibreOffice
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In order to reproduce the crash:

[1] Create new text document and insert a bit of text.
[2] Save document.
[3] Enable Orientation icon in toolbar Formatting:
 (a) Display context menu of Formatting toolbar.
 (b) Select: Visible Buttons > Orientation.
[4] Activate read-only mode with menu: Edit > Edit Mode. The Formatting toolbar
is no longer displayed.
[5] Display Formatting toolbar again with menu: View > Toolbars > Formatting.
All icons are greyed without the Orientation icon.
[6] Click Orientation icon and then select Portrait or Landscape. LibreOffice
crashes! The recovery dialogue is displayed.

Expected behaviour: At step 5 the Orientation should be greyed and of course at
step 6 LibreOffice should not crash.

Thus - I know what goes wrong, just thinking deeply how to do this most elegant
and future safe (and not go back to that former hassle of stiching it
togehther...)

That's what I thought too. This "semi-artificial intelligence" needs
improvement

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated some days ago, I could
reproduce the pb.

In fact, in Horus' test file, there are only strings.
On Mike's file, the first line only contains strings, the other just numbers.
It seems Calc takes this into account to include or not in the sorting the
first line.

TL;DR

But if the title of that bug tells everything about the bug, I do not agree
with Regina.

It's true that in some situation, first row is not header but data, but this
should be an exception.

If you check all of your data, I bet at least 99% of them have row headers.
So, sorting first row should be considered as an *exception* because it's a
minority case.

How could this bug be marked as duplicated of the other bug while that one is
in contradiction to what I described here? That's illogical!
