[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118658] New: The handle to drag entire rows or columns is only at the end of the row. Cursor is always black and hard to see.

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118658

Bug ID: 118658
Summary: The handle to drag entire rows or columns is only at
the end of the row. Cursor is always black and hard to
see.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.beta2+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tyrantil...@yahoo.co.uk

Description:
1. When selecting a group or rows or columns, there is no handle at the
beginning of the row to drag them up or down.
2. Cursor border of the selected cell is always black, making it very hard to
see on dark backgrounds and impossible to see on black background.

Here is a small video (600kb) that illustrates the problems:
https://1drv.ms/v/s!AqtI3rSJQnG_kjilzuN9ua02OE4q

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select rows
2. Try to drag them down
3.

Actual Results:
There is no handle. The handle is only at the end of the table.

Expected Results:
Have point (handle) to drag the entire rows / columns at the beginning of the
row.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The second problem is even more important. Selection cursor being black is very
hard to see on dark backgrounds. Normally it should become white if the
selected cell is dark so it can be easily spotted.

Thank you for your report. Yet, there are some problems with it.

First: it doesn't work like "let me saver options (I don't tell you the exact
list); *for example* sort". You either list all options you need, or even file
different reports for each (group of) options. Otherwise, the report is about
unspecified matter, and thus about nothing.

Second: there is already such option. It is called "templates". Just save a
spreadsheet with your preferred options as a template (*.OTS), and (optionally)
set that template as your default. See online help:
https://helponline.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/01/0111.html
for details.

Resolving INVALID. Anyway, thank you for your help making LibreOffice better.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118656] New: let user choose default options in calc

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118656

Bug ID: 118656
Summary: let user choose default options in calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: consult.res...@gmail.com

Description:
Using sort as an example. There are several 'options' available. Every time I
build a new spreadsheet I wind up going to the 'options' to select the same
features. If the 'options' were mirrored in the preferences I could set them
the way I usually want them and not set them for each spreadsheet. Of course if
on occasion I wanted to deviate from my 'normal' pattern re-setting them in a
given spreadsheet could be done with the existing 'options' window.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. each time I create a new spreadsheet
2. want to change default options
3. open options window
4. change one or two options.

Actual Results:
works fine just a PITA

Expected Results:
If somebody adds this feature, I will pretend to be your friend. :)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Probably this feature is extensible to some or all of the options in all the
applications in the software suite.

With default profile or a clean "reset" profile the Separator Options has Tab,
Comma and Semicolon delimiters selected by default.

If you've cleared the settings in the import dialog (which is stateful)--reset
to default profile, or adjust the dialog as noted.

Nothing else to be done here, know you data...

In Calc, the "Find & Replace" dialog has a "Wildcard" checkbox, which is,
naturally, mutually exclusive to "Regular expressions". They do similar
functions, and should at least be placed near each other, if not grouped.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94921] Picture at wrong position after sheet copy

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94921

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106852] no keyboard shortcut for 'paste values' in Calc

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106852

My suggestion:

* modify the dialog so that the 'values only' and 'values and formats' buttons
are accompanied by text labels with the 'V' and 'O' shortcuts.

* remove the 'Transpose' button; there is already a 'transpose' checkbox, and
this is an occasional-use operation, I suspect. This makes space for the larger
required buttons with text labels

Example of button with image + label:
https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/GtkLockButton.html

I believe this problem, would also help usability, as the meaning of those
icons in the new dialog is not very intuitive -- most users would need to mouse
over them to see the label anyway, in order to be sure they understood the
meaning of them.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118654] New: strange behaviour when typing formula containing named cell '_C'

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118654

Bug ID: 118654
Summary: strange behaviour when typing formula containing named
cell '_C'
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@curioussymbols.com

Description:
LO misbehaves when user attempts to use a cell name 'C' (which is automatically
converted to '_C' to avoid clash with C1R1 naming).

When the user attempts to type the name _C at the end of a formula, input text
is mysteriously disappeared, as if autocorrect is acting on the text, even
though it is unclear why.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new sheet
2. In A1, enter 'C'
3. In B1, enter '800'
4. In A2, enter 'alpha'
5. In B2, enter '0.8'
6. Select cells A1:B2, then click menu Sheets->Names->Create and press enter
(just 'left column' selected in dialog)
7. Move to cell B1 and notice that the cell has become named '_C' as expected
8. In A3, enter, '=1 - alpha/C' and press ENTER

Actual Results:

After typing ENTER at step 8, the contents of the cell have become

= 1 - _C

and the editing is still active, ie the input has not been completed.

If I press ENTER one more time, I get the WRONG cell value -799.

Expected Results:
I would have expected the input to have been completed, and the cell should
show a value of 0.999.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Note: I checked my AutoCorrect options; there is no entry there for '_C'. This
is not an autocorrect action.

Note: I can obtain the correct input by pressing SPACE at step 8, BEFORE
pressing ENTER.

Version: 5.4.6.2
Build ID: 1:5.4.6-0ubuntu0.17.10.1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); Calc: group

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118653] New: White text on light green background during start up is hard to read

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118653

Bug ID: 118653
Summary: White text on light green background during start up
is hard to read
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: scootergri...@gmail.com

Description:
When i start LibreOffice i see a small area with the logo and light green
background a progress bar sometimes white text just above the progress bar.

It seems the white text was telling me what things was being loaded and the
first startup took some time but not after closing libreoffice it starts up
much faster and the white text does not appear.

The white text is not very visible on the light green background.
The contrast is not high enough so hard to read the text.
Also because the text is there for a very short time so not much time to see
it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot system
2. Start LibreOffice
3. Look at the hard to read text above the progress bar

Actual Results:
Hard to read the text

Expected Results:
Text should be easy to read

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118571] LibO 6.1 Help does not work Windows builds

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118571

ok so, help and core packaging are wrong

Help static files and media files should have gone into help package.

Instead they are wrapped in libobasis-core, which is not good because it makes
the core package heavier for download and can potentially break the logic of

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118599] EDITING: Paste uses wrong data

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118599

I've tried to update this to critical but the system won't let me. I know it's
very unlikely a problem of this magnitude could make it into a major release
and I'm still hoping this is something specific to my system, but as I look
into this, that seems less and less likely. This is looking more like a memory
allocation issue and an extremely serious one at that. This issue results in
corrupted data and sometimes it is undetectable by the end user. I know you get
hundreds of bug reports and most are bogus, but please don't blow this off.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107115] Not installed font 'Calibri Light' rendered different (and wrong) on Ubuntu compared to Windows

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107115

I created an ODT test document to test embedding all the Calibri fonts.
The document had sample text for all six of the font files.
1. Calibri
2. Calibri Bold
3. Calibri Italic
4. Calibri Bold Italic
5. Calibri Light
6. Calibri Light Italic

Saved the ODT with Embed Fonts.
Extracted the ODT(ZIP).
Used a FontRenamer application on the font files in the Fonts folder.

Result:
- Calibri Bold Italic.ttf
- Calibri Bold.ttf
- Calibri Italic.ttf
- Calibri.ttf
- Liberation Sans Bold Italic.ttf
- Liberation Sans Bold.ttf
- Liberation Sans Italic.ttf
- Liberation Sans.ttf
- Liberation Serif Bold Italic.ttf
- Liberation Serif Bold.ttf
- Liberation Serif Italic.ttf
- Liberation Serif.ttf

No Calibri Light fonts.
Should have had:
- Calibri Light.ttf
- Calibri Light Italic.ttf

I have done this before with free and commercial fonts embedded and it worked
fine.

Something is very odd with those two fonts.

After looking at this more I think the 20 that was added to the divisor was not
random but was the characters in the divisor that were highlighted and supposed
to be replaced.

Screenshot of screwed up formula

This screenshot shows the next cell in the column. The data was modified
exactly the same as in the first screenshot, but look at the how the formula
was saved. The end of range became the beginning of the range and the end of
the range became the beginning of the range plus the first character of the
divisor. The 2nd and 3rd characters of the divisor are now the 1st 2 characters
and a seemingly random 20 is added to the end of the divisor.

Well, even though the root cause of this bug was never found, it seems to have
been resolved with the move to HarfBuzz for Windows. I haven't had it crop up
since 5.3 on any document. So I'm marking it Resolved-WORKSFORME, and I will
reopen if needed.

Thanks for to the people who actually spent some time looking into it (esp.
Gordo who was the only one who fiddled with it enough to actually reproduce it
-- it's not easy to always do).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115950] EDITING: Crash while selecting cell format with double-click

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115950

So the root cause seems to be the unconditional return true in
SvTreeListBox::DoubleClickHdl() introduced with
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=b649ce123dea372359ec571135a68eb3de844e5b
that should instead be the previous

return !aDoubleClickHdl.IsSet() || aDoubleClickHdl.Call(this);

which fixes *this* crash that occurs after the pView->DoubleClickHdl() returned
true. But with false we crash at the end of SvImpLBox::MouseButtonDown() in
aSelEng.SelMouseButtonDown( rMEvt ) because the SvImplBox is already destroyed
(together with the dialog and tabpage) (and aSelEng.GetSelectionMode() returned
a random value not SelectionMode::NONE).

Good night.

I checked the font embedding permissions - same on regular and on light.
It is set to Editable.

I un-installed Calibri Light on my Windows 7 system to test.
Then opened your original DOCX in Word 2016.
It looks like your Win7/Ubuntu screenshots - bad.
When I remove the fake bold the font is still larger then the regular bold.
So even on Word 2016 the font does not seem to be embedded properly in the
original Word file.

Two questions (three maybe).
Types of video content and when you say from older versions of libreoffice, how
old?

I tried with a couple of Impress files made with 5.4.7, with 3 different videos
types mp4 file with mp4 H.264, ogv with Theora and webm with VP8.

They worked without a problem under 5.4.7 and 6.0.5, using Ubuntu 18.04.

I got some older ones in a backup, 4.x versions, but I am interested in the
video type in the file giving you problems.

Thanks, setting this to needinfo for the moment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118652] New: opening a large tab delimited file take a long time when tab is not checked off as one of the default delimiters.

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118652

Bug ID: 118652
Summary: opening a large tab delimited file take a long time
when tab is not checked off as one of the default
delimiters.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kith.prad...@einstein.yu.edu

Description:
When I try to open a large file (~18mb) that is delimited by tab, sometimes it
takes calc a very long time to open. I noticed if I have tab as one of the
default delimiters already checked off, then opening the file only takes a few
seconds, but if tabs are unchecked it can take more than 30 minutes! For
larger files I've waited more than an hour before giving up and killing the
process.

I just found out I could work around this problem by first opening a small tab
delimited file, making sure to check off the tab checkbox, closing calc, then
opening the large tab delimited file.

For small files, when you open delimited txt you can usually fiddle with the
checkboxes on the loading screen to see which delimiter to use. I'm guessing
Calc is running into problems populating that preview table. Maybe it's
reading the entire line(or the entire file), not running into any expected
delimiters so it thinks there's just one super sized cell, then it's getting
stuck trying to allocate memory or initializing the sheet with default values
of those super sized cells? When tab is already one of the default delimiters
it takes less than a second to populate the preview panel.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. have a large tab delimited file
2. try to open it when tab is not checked off as one of the default delimiters
3. wait

Actual Results:
Takes too long to load. Usually I have to kill the process before then.

Expected Results:
It should have opened in a few seconds

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Attached odt has a simple text box form control containing a long text.
When saved as odt, this has the Text type set as multi-line by default, but in
docx this is set as Single-line.

To reproduce:
1, Create a Text Box form control, set a long Default text. Notice the default
2, Save it as odt
3, Save it as docx

Actual results:
In the docx file Text type is single line, while odt retains the setting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118650] New: UI: Calc - Insert/Delete Rows/Columns allowed even if document is read only

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118650

Bug ID: 118650
Summary: UI: Calc - Insert/Delete Rows/Columns allowed even if
document is read only
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@keelhaul.me.uk

Description:
These options are allowed (not greyed out) and work even if the spreadsheet
document is read-only. This only happens if a complete row is selected (in
which case the two Insert Rows operations are allowed) or a complete column (in
which case the two Insert Columns operations are allowed).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a spreadsaheet and set it to read only mode.
2. Select a complete row (by clicking on the row number in the left margin).
3. Observe that the Sheet - Insert Rows - Rows Above and Rows Below menu
actions are enabled and do the appropriate insertion when clicked.
4. Select a complete column.
5 Observe the same for Sheet - Insert Columns - Columns Left and Columns
Right.

Actual Results:
Sheet is changed by inserting rows or columns.

Expected Results:
Either the menu actions should not be enabled, or the "Document opened in
read-only mode" should be given.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118649] New: Impress Slideshow "Fade Smoothly" Starts Aggressively

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118649

Bug ID: 118649
Summary: Impress Slideshow "Fade Smoothly" Starts Aggressively
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.7.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stevewh...@gwi.net

Description:
Fade Smoothly to a new slide begins at maybe 25% +/-, NOT at 0%. With
sufficient Memory assigned, the rest of the Fade is, in fact, quite Smooth. The
result is the new image leaps into view, then begins to Fade Smoothly until
fully faded.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In Slideshow, slide Transition, use Fade Smoothly.
2.Select 3 or 4 second Fade duration.
3.Run slideshow.
4.The slower you want the Fade, the more abrupt the jump start will appear.

Actual Results:
The new image (#2) appears instantly at let's say 25% (not 0%) before fading
IN. So, the transition begins with a "jump start" at 100%/25% for
image1/image2 and slowly progresses to 0%/100%. The fade duration is reduced
by the actual value of the jump.

Expected Results:
Imagine using a broadcast video switcher and fading slowly from one image to
another. You expect the transition to begin at 100%/0% and slowly progress to
0%/100% for the two images. This is not what happens.

Reproducible: Always

I noticed with this commit, test_percent gives labels like 454% instead of ones
with decimals. It gives decimals in older ones, a mix of ,00 and ,0. But there
are difficulties in investigating, because some builds create a blank chart.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118648] New: Deleting automatically added opening parenthesis doesn't delete closing parenthesis

2018-07-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118648

Bug ID: 118648
Summary: Deleting automatically added opening parenthesis
doesn't delete closing parenthesis
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com

When using automatically closed parentheses for formulas in LO Calc, if I'm
typing some formula, add the parenthesis (or get it added through the
autocomplete), and immediately delete one of them (either the opening or the
closing one), the other part of the parentheses is not deleted like it happens
it pretty much every single IDE and programming-oriented text editor.

Steps to reproduce:
-Activate autoclose parenthesis and code completion (Tools -> Options -> Basic
IDE -> tick "Enable code completion" and "Autoclose parenthesis").
-Start writing some formula in some cell, get it autocompleted.
-From the same pointing position from which it was autocompleted, delete a
parenthesis.

Expected behavior:
-The other parenthesis that was added automatically should also be deleted.

Actual behavior:
-The other parenthesis is still there after the triggering parenthesis is
already deleted, even when there was nothing written in between these
parentheses.

Setup: LO 6.0.5.2 running on Linux (Debian buster/sid).

Store svl::SharedString in document cell storage instead of OUString.

With this, both ScColumn and ScMatrix store svl::SharedString as their
string values, instead of OUString.

Also note that other form elements, like text box or label support the Text
type property, while combo box does not even have this.
I think this is another angle of the problem.
