Some recent work to get font sorted, please retest with current master/6.2.0
build.

https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/

Also, to rule out issue is with your IME -- please also test using the Special
Character dialog to enter the strings of

あ U+3042 HIRAGANA LETTER A

い U+3044 HIRAGANA LETTER I

Does Impress remain stable with current master, and with selection done from
the Special Character dialog?

Yes, as from description of commit https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/57724

tdf#118304 reselect current glyph on changing font
preview glyph will rerender the glyph if its there, or the glyph description
changes to "missing glyph" if its not there anymore. Don't auto select
first entry of the subset when font changes, leave it as unselected and
let the glyph determine what's ends up there

So, keeping the current codepoint value when changing fonts, and displaying
"Missing Glyph" error is better UX when the font does not contain the search
target.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90863] ACCESSIBILITY Controls Apply and Remove in dialog Fields, tab Variables, not accessible by key board

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90863

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118824] .CurrentValue Returns Wrong Value in Base - Different from OOo

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118824

You are correct currentvalue does return a different result between AOO and
LibO, and appears to have done so since LibO 4.1.

I find this mentioned in a comment, from 2015, on an issue
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91828#c10
"Since LO 4.1 CurrentValue of a listbox changed to the value, which should be
saved in the database. Older versions will show the text, which could be seen
on the screen."

That sounds a bit like it might of been intentional, but I read over the
release notes for 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 in which there is mention of changes to
checkbox form controls, but none about listbox and a change in currentvalue.
Nor could I see any mentioned in the API changes listed there.

For a workaround you just need to treat the control as if multi-select is
turned on and use the SelectedItems and ListItems to retrieve the string.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44497] Extension CorePolyGUI causes Calc to crash when clicked on via Addons menu OSX

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44497

I'm having no luck installing the standalone version on macOS 10.13.6. Here are
my exact steps:

1) Download CorelPolyGUI_1-4-5_standalone.zip and unarchive it

2) In the resulting CorelPolyGUI_1-4-5_standalone folder double-click the
CorelPolyGUIOffice.jar file

3) The jar launcher tries to open it but shortly produces the message "The Java
JAR file "CorelPolyGUIOffice.jar" could not be launched". I'm advised to check
the Java console for possible error messages but so far I haven't found a way
to display the console (In the Java Control Panel, I have checked the "Show
Console" option but have never seen it appear).

When I try to launch the file in Terminal with:
java -jar

Thanks but still no go. Here are my exact steps:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118848] New: Export to PDF should (optionally) exclude videos

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118848

Bug ID: 118848
Summary: Export to PDF should (optionally) exclude videos
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: freedesk...@richardneill.org

Description:
I just made a slide deck with a video in it, and when exporting to PDF, the
video was still embedded in the PDF, resulting in a 230MB PDF! Actually, the
PDF does allow this to be played back in some viewers - but most people
wouldn't expect that.

So, please add an option to the export dialog box that converts a video into a
still image. After all, a PDF is frequently intended to be emailed around and
printed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a presentation, containing at least one video.
2. Export to PDF

Actual Results:
PDF contains the video - and it is possible to play it back.
That's a nice feature of the PDF, but it makes the file ridiculously big, and
it's probably not what the user expected.

Expected Results:
PDF should not contain a video - it's expected to be a printable format.
Actually, some people may find this useful, but many would not. So I'm
suggesting making this an option.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Add an option on the PDF export dialog, to "Convert Video to Still"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33603] Presenter notes should be available in normal view as a scrolling pane

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33603

You're absolutely right. When I make slides, I am always editing the visuals
(what goes on the slide and then the projector screen), and my speech (what
goes in the notes, and I use as the autocue) in parallel. It would make LO *so*
much more productive if the speaker notes were always visible at the same
time, rather than laboriously having to context switch in and out of the Notes
view (about 5 seconds every time, after the slides re-flow). I estimate this
one thing would have saved me 10 hours of work this week.

In an ideal world, for me:

* The area around the slide itself would be locked, to avoid pointless hor/vert
scrolling

* The notes would always be visible, under the main slide, [or perhaps in a
side panel] - and the place for typing them shouldn't move around or be
deletable.

* The notes area would be forced to plaintext - yes, I want to be able to embed
line-breaks (and maybe bold/italic/underline), but I really don't want any more
than that level of formatting - and it always looks messy on printouts if the
speaker notes embed random font sizes, or the position moves around underneath
the slide.

* When giving a presentation, the notes should show up in the optimal way for
autocue, say at 18pt font, in one of the most legible - this might be a
property of LO's config, rather than the specific presentation - and obviously,
shrink the font if the notes are so long that they scroll off the screen!

* When exporting, the notes should be well laid out under the slide, and should
not move sideways.

Fixing this would definitely merit a bug bounty from me - thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118831] Vertical alignment default should be top, not bottom

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118831

Spreadsheet is primarily intended to do computations and the cells to contain
numbers. So vertical alignment does not have any importance.
So I think it is easier to create your own templates with the vertical
alignment you want than changing the behavior of the software for all users who
didn't ask for anything.

Best regards. JBF

Yeah, I know that there are other methods. Still, I’m pretty sure that PDF is
most widely used, so I see no reason why it should be epub or HTML.

The thing here is more, that the dialog doesn’t show the format it exports to.
So I propose to either default the format to one that would aid the user (which
is PDF in 99%), or give the user at least a hint of what format it gets
exported to.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118723] Key events can be handled in wrong order by Basic scripts

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118723

I have attached input_mangle.vbs script that demonstrates input mangling more
clearly.

Key press event handler (KeyHandler1_KeyPressed(oEvent) function) just logs
input, waits 100 ms and returns; it does not consume input. Logged input can be
displayed by pressing the "=" key.
The problem is that, even if the input is passed to the handler in the correct
order (see input log to verify this), the delay in key press handler causes LO
to print characters entered by the user in entirely wrong order.

Steps to reproduce:
Create a new module, paste script contents and run reg1() sub.
Try to print something. Observe, that the output is wrong. In my case, typing
"the quick brown fox" printed "hte qiukc brwon fox".
Press "=" to display the input log (in my case: "the quick brown fox").
Observe, that logged input is in the correct order.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118723] Key events can be handled in wrong order by Basic scripts

What I meant by adding a script was basically creating a new LO Basic module
and pasting script contents in it.

Assuming the user interface of LO is in English, here is the procedure.
Invoke the "LibreOffice Basic Macros" dialog: click Tools > Macros > Organize
Macros > LibreOffice Basic... .
Add new module: click Organizer... > Modules tab > New... > (enter module name)
> Ok > Close . This will show "LibreOffice Basic Macros" dialog again.
Edit the created module: select the created module in "Macro from" field of the
"LibreOffice Basic Macros" dialog and click Edit. This will show LibreOffce
Basic IDE.
Remove default module contents (the empty Main sub) and paste contents of the
vbs script attached to the ticket.

To run the script, select reg() function and click "Run Basic" button.

Further information about LO Basic IDE can be found, i.e, at
https://help.libreoffice.org/Basic/Integrated_Development_Environment_IDE

I see some contradiction in the enhancement request: full screen mode is
designed to avoid distraction by menus and toolbars and you want add a panel.
Strange idea.
If I wanted to have on the same screen a room to write and a file explorer, I
would use the functionality of the window manager of the OS. For example the
file manager opened on the left side with the convenient width and Writer on
the rest of the screen. Doing so I would have more possibilities because I can
set the file explorer in the mode I want: icons, list, tree, etc.

Another possibility could be to add the list of the documents in the current
folder as a new category in the sidebar.

Best regards. JBF

--- Comment #23 from Armin Le Grand (CIB) ---
I had added a huge comment in XclObjComment already when I removed the cloning
of the SdrCaptionObject, see there (will delete this in the fix). It defines
why this cannot be reverted - it leads to errors itself.
Another reason to not revert this is that SdrObjects should be inserted to a
SdrPage/SdrGroup, else functionality is not guaranteed.
To fix this:
- Add an exclusive boolean flag to SdrCaptionObj, only accessible from
XclObjComment, that will be used to suppress graphic creation in
SvxShape::GetBitmap
- SvxShape::GetBitmap is a biiig time killer as we saw, mainly because always a
full E3dView is constructed and used - ARGH! There are more elegant methods to
create graphics nowadays. Will refresh that code. Metafile target can use
SingleObjectPainter, Bitamp target can use convertPrimitive2DSequenceToBitmapEx
directly.
- SdrObject::bInserted/IsInserted()/SetInserted can be simplified. No need for
a local bool, change SetInserted to a state change (InsertedStateChange()),
IsInserted() will be directly depend on being a member in a SdrObjList.

With this in place we may just let the SdrCaptionObj's create the graphics, it
will be faster. But better not, this may increase file size and these are
really not needed (at least nut until now). As I have seen most of these are
PostIt objects anyways.

Changed lo-6-1 code to check -> there are SdrCaptionObj's that are not inserted
to a SdrPage.
Changed lo-6-2 -> *all* SdrObjects including the SdrCaptionObj's *are* added to
the SdrPage.
-> Need to find out where and why they get added in lo-6-2 but not in lo-6-1.
Will be hard to find - how do you find a call that is *not* made...?
-> made sure with added code that SdrCaptionObj's are not removed again in
lo-6-1
-> made sure that at/after import all SdrCaptionObj's are inserted in lo-6-1
-> Found XclObjComment - at save time, temporary SdrCaptionObj's are created
for export - these get *not* added to a SdrPage (!)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118845] New: Both Male and Female Salutations shown when hide paragraphs of empty fields option selected

2018-07-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118845

Bug ID: 118845
Summary: Both Male and Female Salutations shown when hide
paragraphs of empty fields option selected
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: domi...@dwalden.co.uk

Description:
If I have a mail merge document with a "personalized salutation" (male and
female) and I have the compatibility option "Hide paragraphs of database fields
(e.g., mail merge) with an empty value" ticked, when I "Edit Individual
Documents" or "Save Merged Documents" the resulting documents contain both the
male and female salutation. I will attach screenshot example.

This may also be true when I Print or Email the merged documents, but I have
not tried this.

If I untick the "Hide paragraphs..." option, only the one line of salutation
(for either male or female) will show. I will attach screenshot example.

I have reproduced this on 6.1RC1 and today's nightly build.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new Write document.
2. Go to Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Compatibility and check that
"Hide paragraphs of database fields..." is ticked. Tick it if not and click OK.
3. Select Tools > Mail Merge Wizard...
4. Check radio button "Use current document" and click Next.
5. Check radio button "E-mail message" (it is also reproducible with "Letter")
and click Next.
6. If you do not have an address list, click Select Different Address List, in
the new dialog click "Add..." and select an address list (you may use the one I
will attach). Click OK and then Next.
7. Make sure that both "This document should contain a salutation" and "Insert
personalized salutation" are ticked, and that you have both a Male and Female
variant of the Salutation (which I guess is default). Click Next and then
Finish.
8. Click "Edit Individual Documents"

Actual Results:
You will see one or more new documents which start:
"Dear Mrs. Lname,
Dear Mr. Lname,"

Expected Results:
Each document should start either:
"Dear Mrs. Lname,"
or
"Dear Mr. Lname,"
(In our case probably the latter as we have not distinguished the genders of
our address entries)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Definitely not a bug -> set as enhancement.

I reproduce the described behavior. That said I am not sure that it should be
changed because there is at least 2 very easy ways to export directly in PDF
format:
1/ menu File > Export As... > choose the kind of PDF export you want
2/ icon Export as PDF in the standard toolbar (same as "Export Directly as PDF"
menu)
3/ you can add a second "Export as PDF" icon which open the export dialog: see
menu Tools > Customize > Toolbars tab

So I suggest to close this bug report as WontFix.

According to Andreas, Colibre is 100% finished including 32px icons.

The missing icons might come from the links.txt file where duplicates are taken
from. For example sw/res/sf03.png points to cmd/sc_insertframe.png [1] (haven't
checked the other). Michael asked during the ESC call whether the help takes
this file into account. If not you would have to copy/rename all these icons
(not a big deal for a script though it blows up the size).

Bug ID: 118844
Summary: [NEWHELP] Colibre icons missing in several help pages.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: needsUXEval
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation

  Reporter: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org

Blocks: 97629

New help is now using Colibre icons, as replacement of Galaxy icons.

But some help pages miss icons, and the icons are not in the Colibre set (but
were in the Galaxy set)

see this page:
https://help.libreoffice.org/6.2/en-US/text/swriter/01/0514.html?=WRITER=UNIX

Look at the style categories table, where the word "icon" denotes a missing
image.

Some of the missing icons are:
sw/res/sf03.png
sw/res/sf04.png
sw/res/sf05.png
