[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119323] Windows 7 64 bit installer for 6.1.0.3 crashes unless run with admin privileges
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119323 --- Comment #3 from brentbo...@gmail.com --- Jean-Baptiste Faure: I always use a user account on my Windows 7 box that is an Administrator account. So, I can typically just double click on a Windows installer program and it works perfectly. That was the case with every previous LibreOffice installer, if I recall correctly. But this time, when I tried that, the installation seemed to initially work, as described in my original post, before ultimately failing at the end with a very obscure error dialog. So, I used a special technique (while still running in my normal Administrator user account) to create a new task that executed LibreOffice_6.1.0_Win_x64.msi with "administrative privileges". I possibly may have made an error in my initial post: I said that I used the technique in NanaYawIke's reply in this thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/1145-73-internal-error-2503-2502 I think that I actually used the slightly simpler technique in SangMin's Aug 17, 2015, 7:10 PM reply which is just above NanaYawIke's. I know for sure that when I created the new Task in Task Manager that I checked its box "Create this task with administrative privileges". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119429] implement native KIO support to avoid potential data loss when using Dolphin file browser in SMB shares to open documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119429 --- Comment #1 from Nate Graham --- > The KDE filepicker that comes with gtk3_kde5 VCL allows to successfully > edit documents on SMB shares, but it doesn't help when opening the document > out of Dolphin. >From a technical point of view, what's happening is that the file picker is using KIO, as expected, and KIO knows how to access Samba shares. All is well there. But when opening a document from Dolphin, Dolphin is executing ` %U` (e.g. libreoffice-writer smb://path/todocument.odt). Because LO apps don't either use KIO or have a built-in Samba client, KIO intercepts the call, downloads the document from smb://path/todocument.odt to ~/.cache/kioexec/krun//document.odt, and tells LO to open it from that path. All is well so far. But starting in LO 6.1, upon saving the document and quitting, KIO does not get the signal that the file was saved, and so does not upload it back to the remote URL. This happens with GIO-using apps (I believe LO gained support for GIO recently, but correct me if I'm wrong). We are working on the issue from the KDE side, but it would also work if LO apps gained native KIO support. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119429] New: implement native KIO support to avoid potential data loss when using Dolphin file browser in SMB shares to open documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119429 Bug ID: 119429 Summary: implement native KIO support to avoid potential data loss when using Dolphin file browser in SMB shares to open documents Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: framework Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tempel.jul...@gmail.com Browse an SMB share with KDE Plasma's recommended Dolphin file explorer and with it, open a document file in e.g. LibreOffice Writer. The file gets opened correctly and it looks like it can be edited. However, saving the edited file at the network location fails because LibreOffice uses Gnome's GIO, despite of running inside a KDE Plasma session. This is especially nasty because the saving fails silently. The program makes the user think that the file was successfully saved, but when reopening the document, all the changes are lost. This could be solved by adding native KIO support into LibreOffice. See this ticket on KDE bugtracker: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397742 The KDE filepicker that comes with gtk3_kde5 VCL allows to successfully edit documents on SMB shares, but it doesn't help when opening the document out of Dolphin. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119381] 6.1 overwrites Symbolic Links with files
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119381 --- Comment #5 from rao...@comcast.net --- I have files in several directories that I use daily. Rather than using the file manager to navigate to those directories each time I want to work on them, I create a link on my desktop for each file. In the past, when I clicked on a link on the desktop, LibreOffice would open the file (in whatever directory it really resides); I would edit the file and save it; LibreOffice would save the file back to the directory. As of 6.1, LibreOffice is NOT saving the file back to the directory in which it really resides, but is overwriting the LINK on my desktop. Thus, what was a link is now file, and the "real" file in that other directory is never updated. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Crucial to me is the workflow, and I see it similar to go through changes. Hard to imagine that a user right clicks the comment (or this expander thingy) and flags it as resolved. Some ideas out of the blue: Option 1: We add this to the Navigator. It would be link-like labels _Next, _Resolve, _Delete etc. (no idea how many links fit onto the UI). Alt+N/R/D jumps to the next comment. Option 2: We introduce a comments toolbar similar to track changes. Option 3: We include comments into TC and provide the flag feature at the sidebar (for some reason in experimental state). Next question is what happen when the flag is set. I would show the comment in the Navigator (grayed out) in case of option 1 but jump over it in case of _Next. Similarly it could work for the TC sidebar (option 3). At the document it makes sense to hide the comment outside the canvas but keep the word highlighted. On click the full text opens. It would be similar to Calc. In any case, if a developer is interested the design team will happily support with another loop. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79538] Calc: Images move when printing or exporting to PDF
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79538 --- Comment #15 from bunkem --- Not sure if this is the same issue but export to PDF of an Impress presentation with an embedded & cropped PDF doesn't work either. Steps to reproduce 1) Create Impress presentation 2) Create a PDF of a spreadsheet (as an example) 3) Crop the PDF to shrink to fit to the presentation 4) In the Impress presentation, Insert:Image and select the cropped PDF 5) Save the file 6) Press the export to PDF or File:Export ... 7) View the created PDF. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86675] Bad-quality antialiasing for PNG images, looks terribly ugly ..
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86675 --- Comment #49 from bunkem --- I've been watching this thread. 1) Another issue with this is that the Insert:Image of a jpg, gif, png alters the colour. (Macos 10.11.6 with LO6.2a master (Aug 8-13) and, 2) The colour import is OK for an eps image but that image only shows up for a while until it disappears and only a box placeholder + note about the name of the image file is available.
