https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119832 Bug ID: 119832 Summary: Animated Gif's Cause Libreoffice Impress to Hang / Crash / Become Very Unstable Under Windows 7 / 10 Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rickpr...@live.com Description: Animated Gif's are causing Libreoffice to crash / hang / become very unstable on Windows 10. The version of Libreoffice being used is 6.1.0.3 (the latest from the donwload site. Basically some animated gifs work, some animated gifs do not work when being uploaded into an Impress presentation. The files are fine (they work in Powerpoint and other programs). They display and animate a bit but then the program will hang and really slow down (mouse cursor animation changes / real lag in the program) for example. Not all animated gifs that I download from the web cause this problem in Impress but many do. Not sure what causes it but it's a pretty basic thing that needs to be fixed. Tried on many PC's at our school in China - problems persist. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Libreoffice Impress. 2. Try opening the animated gif files provided. 3. Impress should hang / slow down / become unrepsonsive. Actual Results: Libreoffice Impress becomes unstable and doesn't work or function properly. Expected Results: Libreoffice will become unstable and hang and crash. Animated gif files should display properly and not cause Impress to crash - this is a pretty basic thing and a severe bug which hopefully will get fixed. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: System Information Version: 6.1.0.3 (x64) Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; Locale: en-NZ (en_NZ); Calc: group threaded Sometimes when moving the mouse cursor over the animated gifs the hang / slow down occurs more. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119753] Direct formatting control text Highlighting mode not toggling off
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119753 --- Comment #8 from Maxim Monastirsky --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #7) > While the help article notes as toggling off the formatting The previous items there are: 1. On the Formatting bar, click the Highlight Color icon. 2. Select the text that you want to highlight. So that section clearly talks about the bucket mode only. And esp. as toggling off the formatting is actually covered by the next section "To Remove Highlighting". So while we might try to improve the wording, there is nothing really wrong with the help in that regard. > a. does not work And it shouldn't, as it doesn't toggle off any other kind of formatting like bold or italic. > Clicking the button again does not toggle--at odds with behavior of other > direct formatting button actions like Bold, Italic, Underline or Strike > through. ... > b. clicking the Highlight toolbar button, enables paint mode The problem here is that we try to have 2 different functions on top of a single button. We want it to toggle formatting like the other formatting buttons, and we want the bucket mode. But we can't do both at the same time, so how to decide what to do when the button is clicked? Does the user want to toggle the formatting of the current text, or to highlight another text? We can't read his mind. So what we do is this: If there is already some text selected, the button acts as a toggle button similar to the other formatting buttons, otherwise it just activates the bucket mode. It might be that this behavior doesn't fit someone's workflow, but there's nothing else we can do to keep both functions. And AFAIK that's the same behavior as in MS Word, so people coming from there should be familiar with it. > Meaning--the *only* way to end Highlight DF is select the last character, > and use Context menu -> Character dialog's Highlight panel and set to None. It can be done with the toolbar button too, in one of two ways: 1. Click the dropdown arrow of the toolbar button, select "No Fill", and paint over the last character. (It might be reasonable to make this work also w/o selecting "No Fill".) 2. First select the last character, and then click the toolbar button (no painting is needed). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119753] Direct formatting control text Highlighting mode not toggling off
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119753 --- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote --- While the help article notes as toggling off the formatting, it does so only when in the bucket paint mode. Difficult to determine what mode the formatting is in, the button does not take its active shading except when clicked and in paint mode. So, as noted if done as applied Direct Formatting to a selection--it is hard to turn off the highlight mode. Clicking the button again does not toggle--at odds with behavior of other direct formatting button actions like Bold, Italic, Underline or Strike through. Steps to Reproduce: 1. type some text "a b d" 2. select some piece of the text "ccc" 3. click the Highlight button on the Formatting toolbar 4. position text cursor into the now highlighted portion 5. type some more text "", note it picks up highlighting 6. type a " " space, note it picks up highlighting --How do you turn off the highlighting without relocating the text cursor? a. does not work b. clicking the Highlight toolbar button, enables paint mode Meaning--the *only* way to end Highlight DF is select the last character, and use Context menu -> Character dialog's Highlight panel and set to None. This is not the same as other Character direct formatting controls which respond to GUI button clicks. Either allow the to toggle it off in this mode as well, or adjust the Button action to show Highlight state and to toggle. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119826] Feature request: Highlight double space characters
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119826 --- Comment #2 from NikoKrause --- Yes, I mean space characters resp. blanks. Sorry for the looseness. I've seen this feature recently in one of the newer Word versions and found it to be very useful, especially because I do proofread a lot of stuff and have observed, that most people do ignore double space characters. Highlighting them makes people aware of this issue. Usually I remove double space characters with SEARCH for two space characters and REPLACE with one space character. But that's not very intuitive (nor ideal, if there are triple, etc space characters, you have to do this a few times). Having a tool/button to remove two and more space characters would be nice. But highlighting them is something, that in my opinion would be great to make people aware of this issue in the first place. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103405] L10n: Add additional user interface language Hungarian Rovas [hu-Hung-HU]
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103405 --- Comment #8 from Andras Timar --- (In reply to Kovács Viktor from comment #7) First you need to make transliteration existing Hungarian translation to Rovas script for UI and help. I can imagine that proofreading of this would be a lot of work. Then it is a no-brainer to add another line to installer, and offer Hungarian (Rovas) for the users. For the spell checker, I don't think we can use anything made for MS Office. We need a dictionary and affix file in Hunspell format. Probably this could be based on existing Hungarian spelling dictionary and affix file. For the locale data, again, you need to transliterate existing hu_HU locale data, currency is HUF of course, providing that most users of this "locale" would be in Hungary. But that's not a top priority I think. I suggest you move step by step. If you want Rovas UI, go for that first. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119827 Bug ID: 119827 Summary: LibreOffice doesn’t interpret GtkBuilder’s “scale” attribute under Windows Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: lowest Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: f...@libreoffice.org Some information in our UI is secondary or complementary, and as such it doesn’t need to be as prominent as other elements. GtkBuilder’s .ui files allow designers to create a visual hierarchy by means of the “scale” Pango attribute and style classes like “dim-label”. Together, they help to create visually clearer UIs. For instance, in a welded UI file like specialcharacters.ui (cui module), I can add the following markup to the “charname” GtkLabel…:… to make it smaller (by 1 pt) and dimmed. This works well under Linux, but doesn’t have any effect under Windows, and I presume under macOS as well (didn’t test). I would like that, under Windows, LibreOffice at least interpret the scale part to make some secondary-info labels smaller. I don’t ask for the dimmed style to be reimplemented into LO because I know such styles belong to Gtk+ themes (which apparently Gtk+ developers intend to drop because GNOME loves to sabotage itself as a viable, flexible platform). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119823] LibreOffice crashes when I just open it, I get a Libreoffice "your system has crashed" message, click it away and its done.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119823 --- Comment #7 from jasper.lankho...@gmail.com --- I meant to report it as ALL, every products related to Libreoffice suite, not only the Base.(I thought this was the core of the application suite, it happens on all related products). It seems to be like a shutdown/startup bug, I have not debugged it in code, so I can not say. It happens when I shutdown and open it. Everytime when I open it, after this I can use the programs normally. >Please confirm you had this bug before. I had this bug before, since the former version, mentioned and only on this laptop. Not on my home pc. (hardware issue related?)maybe? >Or you may use http://tdf.io/siguiexe. Trying this out with Libreoffice 6.1.1.1 , love the installer by the way, easy to use.) Issue still happens in 6.1.1.1 Try #1: Even after deleting the user profile again, Try #2 Disabling OpenGL, Try #3, Keep opengl disabled, and disabling hardware acceleration. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119689] There isn't tool Gradient from toolbar Transformations on Sidebar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119689 Cor Nouws changed: What|Removed |Added CC||c...@nouenoff.nl --- Comment #7 from Cor Nouws --- Ah, lovely feature. I know it exists on the tab Gradient, but never saw the interactive tool. Nevertheless I tend to agree with Heiko. (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #6) > .. The sidebar is not meant to replace dialogs and > putting too functions there has an impact on usability (we are over the edge > at Properties). I guess that has been defined - long ago maybe - as policy. How does that hold in the light of user wishes and development? Sometimes I see other software that have ~everything from (side) bars. Interactive after all has an advantage over a modal dialog.. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
