Bug ID: 121751
Summary: Cursor overlaps comment when shown in Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ddascalescu+freedesk...@gmail.com

Screencast showing cursor overlapping comment

Add a comment to a cell, than choose "Show comment" from the context menu.

Move the cursor over adjacent cells. Notice how the cursor is displayed on top
of the comment, obscuring it.

Don't think this is something UX should take care about. The bug is clear: the
stem point of balloon tip(s) remain on the right side/pointing to the right for
RTL settings but should be left.

I cannot confirm this report. Running LibreOffice Fresh meaning 6.1.3.2 today
means you use the gtk3 VCL plugin. Changing this theme (in my case of LXQt per
KDE system settings > Application style > Gnome) applies perfectly to the
program.

Please check again and provide more information on your settings and what
exactly you expect. "Document background" does not affect any control but just
the Writer document canvas, Calc spreadsheet cell background etc.

Hi Guys,

My turn to fight with this task!

This week:

* [ ] dig a little bit into codebase
* [ ] explore the source of the leaking part

Next week:

* [ ] compile LO for Win
* [ ] introduce shared_ptr
* [ ] realize how to test the solution:
* [ ] add some unit tests?
* [ ] test on the target platform?

I'm very appreciate any advises about the testing part.

Inserting a comment in Calc v6.2

Inserting a comment in Calc v6.2 is a frustrating experience:

1. I can't seem to be able to drag the comment box handles to enlarge it (this
is perfectly possible in Excel)

2. Typing a longer comment results in the comment overlapping the cells below.

3. Once the comment is entered, I couldn't show it by hovering with the mouse
over the little red square in the top right corner of the cell.

Please see the attached screencast.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121748] New: Feature request: look in values or comments when searching in Calc

2018-11-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121748

Bug ID: 121748
Summary: Feature request: look in values or comments when
searching in Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ddascalescu+freedesk...@gmail.com

Description:
Apologies if this has been requested already, since it's such a basic feature,
but searched have yielded nothing relevant[1].

Consider this sheet:

A1: foo
A2: bar
A3: ...
...
A181: =A1

Searching for "foo" will only find A1, but not A181. Excel has had this option
since I can remember (MS Office 2003): "Look in formulas/values/comments". In
Calc, it appears impossible to look in anything but formulas.

[1]:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=calc%20look%20in%20values_id=870950

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a sheet where A1 contains "foo" and A2 is "=A1".
2. Add a comment to A2, "foo".
2. Search for "foo".

Actual Results:
Only A1 is found.

Expected Results:
A1 and A2 should be found, if the user wishes to search in values or comments,
as opposed to searching only in formulas.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Basic feature in Excel.

Unfortunately, I am unable to do that. The latest version requires Windows 7

To lose 10 pounds, a person can follow these steps. Follow a low-calorie diet.
A low-calorie diet is recommended when trying to lose weight. Avoid junk food.
Junk foods are: Add lean protein. Lean protein helps build muscle. Move more.
Try high-intensity cardio. Add weights. Eat fewer carbs. Reduce bloating.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Hello,
I'm afraid I won't be able to confirm as I was not able to reproduce the bug
now even with the old version of LibreOffice. The only thing changed on my
system as far as I rememeber was AMD/ATI graphics driver. So I'm afraid that at
least I hit some "coexistence" issue of certain change in LibreOffice and in
graphics driver.
I will try to return back to older version of graphics driver and try again.

Thank you for your locale data contribution!

Apparently we don't have your license statement on file, could you
please send us a blanket statement that you contribute all your past and
future patches under the MPLv2 and LGPLv3+ licenses? Best on the dev
mailing list libreoff...@lists.freedesktop.org so we can link to it from

Something like this does nicely:

All of my past & future contributions to LibreOffice may be

Best use Subject: license statement

Hello,
I've -I hope- some good news for you : I've replaced my current pspfontcache
with the faulty one, and had no troubles launching the example docx : It
appears exactly the same using my current pspfontcache, or the faulty one.
The only subtlety is that I've tried with the latest version of LibreOffice
coming from my distro (fedora) : problem is solved on 6.1.2, but I didn't check
on 6.1.3.

Is it enough ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77125] Please make the shape of rounded rectangle callout customizable

2018-11-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77125

Created attachment 147077
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=147077=edit
Document with description and callout with circle corners

The attached document provides a callout with quarter circles in the corners,
which do not change to ellipse when you resize the shape. It behaves similar to
the callout of PowerPoint. The shape uses the commands "logwidth" and
"logheight". MS Office does not understand these commands, so the shape will
not be shown by MS Office. If you are forced to use OOXML (docx or pptx), then
you need to use the callout from the drawing toolbar. For all others my shape
might be an improvement.

This shape does not solve the entire request, because the circles are not
sizeable and the callout pointer cannot be changed in its basis. But this shape
is already very complex. You should think about using a rounded rectangle as
callout and add the callout pointer manually by e.g. using a filled path.

I don't know why I should be the one to go through the trouble of testing this.
Since I'm in a good mood, I just installed cups and libre-office. Tested the
print dialog, and it works. But then as soon as I added a new printer with the
attached ppd file, it crashes upon opening the print dialog.

tl;dr the problem still occurs with LibreOffice version 6.1.3.2 (tested on Arch
Linux).

um, Honestly , I'm not successful in letting the tooltip show for the statusbar
items with my 6.3 nightly build, though I found that the message is set here in
the sourcecode(shared among all applications, but it would be not that difficult
to use bWriter as in LangSelectionStatusbarController::LangMenu ).

https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/framework/source/uielement/langselectionstatusbarcontroller.cxx?r=bdb0775a#121
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/framework/inc/strings.hrc?r=c89a4996#54

If you don't mind going along just a bit hard way (for programmers) and want to
do all things yourself, and can spend two days for the first time, Developer
documents await you.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnWindows
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/gerrit/SubmitPatch

If you mind that hard way, please prepare the tooltip messages for writer and
other applications, and give them to me. you can post them on this bug
report:-), and I will submit a patch to gerrit. ( I'm not going to prepare the
messages myself. I'm not confident in that area.)

I had to re-install again Gpg4win in the default directory (C:\Program Files

LibreOffice was not able to find any certicates...

So now I'm back to getting the error 'Cannot find the certificate manager'...
but at least I can still sign documents.

Here's my setup:

Windows 10, GPG4Win 3.1.5, LibreOffice 6.1.3.2

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 102014] The Default Local Settings do not coping from windows settings

2018-11-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102014

If the help system tells that for "Default - *" choice, the settings for
different options are taken "from system", then the documentation is wrong. In
no case does LibreOffice take e.g. decimal separator from system; the only
thing it takes from there when you choose "Default - *" is the locale itself
(so for Windows, it would automatically take active MUI language, or localized
version's language).

All other related settings (including decimal/thousand separators) are taken
from LibreOffice own built-in set for the given locale.

So this bug should be either closed as NOTABUG, or changed to documentation
issue.

OK, here is some update.
https://www.collaboraoffice.com/code/ page was rewritten last week. Hopefully
it became clearer.

There is also an extra note:

"The default configuration is looking for an SSL certificate and key, which are
not present, so probably it’s the best to disable SSL, and optionally enable
SSL termination, then set up the reverse proxy."

So let's close this, I also find it off-topic to discuss contents of Collabora
website and CODE packages on TDF Bugzilla.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40534] slide tearing or not shown in LARGE screens (high resolution) with hardware acceleration enabled

2018-11-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40534

Verified bug still exists in LO 6.1.3.2 (x64)

Machine:
 Windows 10 professional
 Surface Book 3000x2000 (4K) display 150%, i7-6600U, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD
External (presentation) monitor connected through display port running in
2160p mode 43" (4K)59Hz 100% scaling (4096 x 2160)

Transitioning from "use hardware acceleration" to not, impress "blew up" 2-3
times transitioning from slide 3->4, does not produce a crash file, does
"recover" when restarted.

Attempts to reproduce "crash" failed after the first 2-3 attempts. This was
from a "cold" LO start, one run with HW acceleration, then disable HW
acceleration and run presentation again. Point being, don't rely on Impress
working with HW Acceleration disabled at 4K resolutions. It may crash a few
times.

With HW acceleration enabled screen paint is very slow followed by a
blanking/tearing of the presentation screen immediately after screen paint
completes.

After "crashing" behavior stopped (3-4 tries), I was able to make it through
the entire presentation, with excruciatingly slow screen paint speeds.

Positive comment: Once the screen is rendered, the image is beautiful. I have
one animated slide in this presentation which works properly even without
acceleration.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121700] Can’t choose paragraph or character language from task bar

2018-11-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121700

Oh, I see. Thank you for making this report more complete.

It appears that this feature in Calc has not worked properly for a while, if it
ever did. That makes me wonder if it is the best use of that space.

I am working on Calc documentation and need to figure out what to say about
this feature.

As long as there is a tooltip saying that both paragraph and character
languages can be set there, then this seems like a bug. If the tooltip doesn't
mention paragraph and character languages, then there would be no obvious bug.

It seems like an easy fix. What would you suggest I do to help that happen?

I've tested and still see a problem.

The default installation directory for Kleopatra (GPG4Win) is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\GPG4win\bin\Kleopatra.exe

So the patch won't work... The 'bin' subdirectory search PATH is missing.

This PATH is in the patch instead:

C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG\bin\Kleopatra.exe

I re-installed GPG4win with this path and everything is working fine.

However, it would be nicer if LibreOffice used the Windows PATH environment
instead of hardcoding the possible locations of 'Kleopatra'.

Thank You!
