[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122135] New: Horizontal ruler broken in 6.1.3.2
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122135 Bug ID: 122135 Summary: Horizontal ruler broken in 6.1.3.2 Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lwc...@gmail.com Description: See screenshot. I have encountered this bug as soon as I upgrade to the said version. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the attached ODT file. Actual Results: See screenshot. Expected Results: N/A Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: I'm not sure if opening the file in another computer will actually reproduce the problem, but that is very likely because I have tried to open these files in two different computers. If yes then the bug is likely deterministic. If a file isn't affected by this bug, then it also doesn't affect my other computer. I've already tried disabling OpenGL. That didn't resolve the issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

After creating a MSI installer log I tracked down the issue to a Microsoft update attempting to be installed when installing LibreOffice (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows). Windows update is "disabled" on the machine in question. I understand that LibreOffice cannot be installed if certain prerequisites are not met however the KB in question is not applicable to my machine which is running Windows 10 build 1803. Can it be changed to only attempt to install the update on non Windows 10 machines? I am not intimately familiar with MSI installers so I am not sure if a condition can be set so that the update is only attempted to be installed on the applicable operating systems. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Stop the "wuauserv" service and disable it through the registry (start=0x4) 2.Remove permission from the start key in HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\wuauserv so that no modifications can be made to the start key. 3.Run the LibreOffice installer. The attempted recovery dialogue often leads to the dreaded Mac "wheel of fortune" and a frequent need to force quit the application and try again. Can usually get recovery within 3-4 attempts, but sometimes takes many more tries. Is there a compatibility problem between Libreoffice and Mojave?? Actual Results: When either LibreOffice actually crashes, or the Mojave OS crashes, I have to go through the attempted recovery dialogue several times before being able to recover. Have always been able to eventually recovery (at the last saved version), but it takes repeated attempts (application stops responding and I have to force quit and try again). Expected Results: Should be able to open a file I've saved and closed without have to go through "attempted recovery." Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108619] Java Crash on x86 in jfw_plugin_startJavaVirtualMachine w/ recent linux kernels
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108619 --- Comment #42 from Dave Notman --- xubuntu 18.04.1 32-bit (4.15.0-42-generic #45-Ubuntu) My experience was rather different. LibreOffice would always crash at a point about 35% through the splash screen, so I couldn't use the UI to disable the use of Java. I checked with sysctl -a and also by dumping all strings in the kernel, and "stack_guard_gap" isn't a valid kernel parameter. If I edited the LibreOffice config file "javasettings_Linux_x86.xml" to look like this: http://openoffice.org/2004/java/framework/1.0"; xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";> LibreOffice 6.0.6.2 00m0(Build:2) would find the java virtual machine, update the config file, and then crash as before. The (partial) solution was to rename /usr/bin/java and /usr/lib/jvm/ AND code the javasettings file as above. With these steps taken I can at least edit documents in --writer and spreadsheets with --calc. Creating a native database requires Java, so that doesn't work, but I was able to attach to a spreadsheet and treat it like a database. Not sure about Access/Jet or SqLite databases yet. Of course, anything else that requires Java is now broken. Java version is OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 10.0.2+13-Ubuntu-1ubuntu0.18.04.4) OpenJDK Server VM (build 10.0.2+13-Ubuntu-1ubuntu0.18.04.4, mixed mode) I tried creating a "Hello World" Java program and it worked as expected. Hmmm... "Mixed Mode?" That was added for i45491, and the default enabled true compatibility setting was continued. I just verified that current Microsoft Word 2016 (16.0.11029.20045) continues this behavior with a line justified paragraphs being justified to full width (too much white space) when a line break is inserted. So it remains a legitimate "compatibility" setting. Personally, I would think disabled false and non-justified is a better default. Some of the later discussions of i13507 and dupes suggest that might have been the better route. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122128 Bug ID: 122128 Summary: text font cannot be automatically retained at once for all elements of an inserted table... Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: euf...@gmail.com LibreOffice Writer 6.1.3.2 in Windows 64 won't let you change from default font for all elements, all at once, of a table. OpenOffice, which LibreOffice is supposed to be based on, easily allows changing all fonts for all cells in a table with only one click for font, then one click for size of font. Simple. For all the users of your extremely up-to-date program with all its extremely nice list of formats, though, there's no easy choice on the main Writer document composing page to make all the cells default to a font other than the non-user-selected default font. It would be more useful to several users if on the main page you could select font and size with only two front-page clicks. This proposed solution would help several users in later versions. It's already incorporated into OpenOffice 4.1.6 by default. m.b. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Unfortunately: - With LO 6.0.7.3 on up-to-date Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS: Toggling the "Use printer metrics for text formatting" checkbox has no affect. (The cells get re-drawn on the change, resulting in disappearance of the issue, but the issue comes back on the next zoom change.) - With 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (current daily) on not quite up-to-date Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS liveUSB: With "Use printer metrics for text formatting" checkbox activated, the issue becomes worse - there is an additional vertical shift of the letter parts. See attached screenshot. It could be a Linux or Ubuntu-specific issue, though. And in fact if I open the ODT archive of the sample document from comment 1 a review of its content.xml shows that the code point for the glyph is *not* U+2042 but rather is U+07fa NKo is Unicode range 07c0-07ff, and is a RTL script. So its use would trigger the ICU lib BiDi handling, which IIUC in LibreOffice *would* trigger the CTL handling, and which gets assigned Hindi with a default user profile. Not sure how OP generated the character when inserting into sample document, but when picking U+2042 ASTERISM from the SpecialCharacter dialog, or an external app (e.g. BabelMap), the U+2042 glyph is rendered correctly to canvas and there is no BiDi shift to RTL or change to CTL (Hindi default). I work as an IT teacher and my pupils have to insert Object- also write a formula. And I they have chosen in Writer: Insert Object -> Formula -> and then they had to insert an example and they had to modify it. a^2 + b^2 = c^2 And nearly ALL pupils had the problem with adistorted formulas: not enough space und the "c" was overprinting over the "=". A catastrophy in a class. Or the formula had a height of 10 cm. They use Win10 Lateron I wanted to reproduce and I went to exactly this computer under a differen account. New Document-> Insert Object -> Formula -> Example a^2 + b^2 = c^2 - And everything looked perfect! Waah! And the boy, who had horrible problems, reopened the document- it looked perfect, too. What's going on there? The thing: When I personally wrote formulas with LO Writer in mAth I had a similar effect ( I also work as math and physics teacher). It seemed to happen when much is introduced into the document before. I havo no real idea... I use Win7 - not Win10. I thought also it was caused by importing from MS word (see bug 42723). But my class wrote a writer document. There was no import from word. And therefore I have NO example to place here. Because when document is re-opened it looks fine. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122122] New: Support for separate charts from data series selection of a specific diagram
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122122 Bug ID: 122122 Summary: Support for separate charts from data series selection of a specific diagram Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Chart Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: markus.elfr...@web.de Multiple data series can be displayed together in a selected chart type already. It can happen then that these series deal with data types which have got a high probability that a lot of values will be (almost) the same. The value distribution would hinder a clear display in a single multi-series chart. Thus each data series should be presented in a separate chart while the X axis can be shared between them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
