[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121778] LibreOffice not usable; opens OK but crashes when entering data on macOS 10.14 Mojave
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121778 --- Comment #59 from Charles --- Hi. I'm using Version: 6.1.3.5 Build ID: 15843ed45a7b807506f7cf3529f9e15dd77e4b8b CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.14.2; UI render: default; Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded. I'm using the above version on a MacBook Pro and a 21"(51Cm) iMac. Up to now, I've found this current build to be completely reliable, no crashes or hang-ups. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122288] New: Themes/Personas usability issues
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122288 Bug ID: 122288 Summary: Themes/Personas usability issues Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jean-francois.nifenec...@laposte.net Description: After the recent fixes applied to the Firefox personas loading (see bug #11881), there remain several usability issues that severely limit the personas/theming functionality. Actual Results: Problems still present and user unfriendly: 1. themes download is slow. 2. themes preview very small (way too small). This forces to accept a theme just for viewing the result (see next point). Very user-unfriendly. 3. when one comes back from a tested theme to check for another, the user has to ask and download again (which is slow as stated above). 4. only 9 themes are displayed. There's no way to know if there are more and, if there are, no (obvious) way to download these ones. 5. copy/pasting a Firefox theme URL in the Term/URL textbox leads to an error (see attachment http://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=147636) ex : https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/libreoffice-4-light-ambiance/ It seems that LibO searches in the US Firefox website while the user obviously uses his Firefox national website (here: FR). 6. pasting only the Firefox theme name in the Term/URL textbox (as suggested by the label) leads to nothing: there's no feedback about what's going on (found? not found?) Term searched: "libreoffice-4-light-ambiance" (without quotes) 7. Having adopted one of the proposed themes, the user can't adjust the font colour. No UI option for that (though the option is available in the internal settings). Expected Results: User's friendly behaviour, possible changes: 1. Faster download. 2. Better (larger) preview area. A vertical preview "listbox" would do (à-la Application Colors list in the Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Application Colors). 3. Remember the latest downloaded themes list (session-wide). 4. Previewing using a "listbox" would not limit the themes number (see point 2.). 5. Search the actual Firefox site as input by the user. 6. Change the Term/URL textbox so that it actually does what it pretends, or change its label for clarity about the expected input. 7. Add a colorpicker in order to adjust the font color when selecting a given theme. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 6.1.3.2 (x64) Build ID: 86daf60bf00efa86ad547e59e09d6bb77c699acb CPU threads: 1; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); Calc: group threaded (under Windows 7 pro 64b) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104846] The bottom edge of certain glyphs are clipped (using Linux Libertine G)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104846 --- Comment #9 from Costas --- I think this should be revisited, because the fonts print exactly as intended and in PDF too even if they don't display properly (even in current stable version). With openGL on, it requires a screen refresh (even by scrolling beyond the character) to display the ligatures but then they dissappear again randomly. Since openGL was not on by default, I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find out why the ligatures were not displaying properly, and I was in the process of opening a new bug. It makes me wonder if other fonts (complex languages) have the same problem. I tried to find out who to contact for the font but cannot find who is responsible for maintenance of th G version. :( -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122279] Feature Request: Hyperlink creation dialog should have option to enter exact href= text that will remain unmodified
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122279 Regina Henschel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rb.hensc...@t-online.de --- Comment #1 from Regina Henschel --- The dialog is confusing, but it generates the links correctly, if you use the dialog this way: If you want to link to a local file, then do not choose the category "internet", but use category "document". Then the main part changes. You will get a section "document" with a "path" field. Do not enter anything directly into the "path" field, but use the file picker icon at the right side to choose the file. You will get an entry in the field, which looks like an absolute link. But as long as the linked file is on the same drive as the document, which gets the link, the link will be saved relative. In case the linked file has a suitable part, you can choose it in the section "Target in document". Again, do not enter anything directly into the field, but use the icon on the right side. It opens a window, where you can choose the target. It will be added with #. For example, if your htm-file has an element with id-attribute, this id will be listed under "bookmark". Besides that, you need to have the option "save URLs relative to file system" checked in Tools > Options > Load/Save > General. The request, to let the user decide relative vs absolute for each individual link is already in bug 111957. Please have a look. I guess, that the proposals there will cover your request. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50699] Template Changer: Allow ability to change a document's associated template
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50699 --- Comment #61 from Gerhard Weydt --- After two or three days since I posted my comment I think it might sound a bit harsh. In fact I am thinking about providing a new solution for this problem, which will certainly not be completely differing from Template Changer. This extension has, as far as I now see, some shortcomings, e.g. the restriction to Writer, the cause of which I do not understand at the moment, my first tests were done in Calc and did work, and - as it seems - the assumption of always changing all files of a directory with certain extensions - , but the problem, that it no longer works, is obviously only due to the renaming of some LibO variables, I made it work in a test case by changing them. I still think that there is not so much need for the functionality, so I'm not sure yet whether I will supply an extension with a menu entry in LibO or a simple document that includes a macro to be started from there (which nevertheless could probably be easily copied to MyMacros, although). In any case I will only set all relevant information concerning the new template, leaving the changing of the formatting to LibO which will prompt for it when the document is opened for the next time (there's some meddling with numbering styles in Template Changer which I do not understand); I think that is the only feasible way to add a function in this quite complex situation, leaving to LibO to do the work. I'll post a message here when the "extension" is published. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I type a word incorrectly and I'm not getting the red squiggly line under it to indicated the spelling is incorrect. Too, I was also noticing that words I know are in the dictionary were coming up with a red squiggly line (when, apparently, auto spell was working). As I said, it happens then seems to correct itself. Right now, I've put my manuscript on hold since it isn't working. Anyone able to help? Thanks much in advance. Steps to Reproduce: 1.anytime I type 2.create a new .odt document and everything is fine 3.doesn't work on an already established document (as I said, it periodically doesn't work. Actual Results: After seeing that a new document doesn't seem effected by this problem, I cut and paste my original manuscript to a new document and saved it under the same name. Expected Results: Problem still exists in that original documents. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I've also had to rebuild some of REPLACE words...they were wiped out after the cut and paste but I can deal with this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122116] LibreOffice 6.1.* crashes by recovering file at start over and over on Linux
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122116 --- Comment #26 from Michael Weghorn --- (In reply to Andras from comment #25) Good to hear. Actually, looking again at the backtrace from comment 20, that looks like the same problem, so I suppose the same should be working with LibreOffice 6.1 as well. There's no need to attach any additional backtraces right now. The problem is caused by the Common Print Dialog (CPD) and its integration into LibreOffice. There was an initial implementation as part of a GSOC (Google Summer of Code) project, but it's probably not yet "ready for production". (I don't know about CPD in general, s. e.g. https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cpdb-libs if you're interested in more details.) Unless you installed CPD intentionally and need it for some reason (e.g. integration of Google Cloud Printing,...), the easiest way to get rid of the problem quickly is probably to just uninstall the CPD-related packages. You'll probably see those when you run dpkg -l 'libcpd*' 'cpdb*' (But please check carefully to not install another unrelated package that you still need.) (I'll possibly have a quick look at the underlying issue once I find time to do so and to set up an Ubuntu VM for testing. There's probably something that should be changed in LibreOffice to avoid that crash in the future...) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Handling a section column break is hard because this is completely different from LibreOffice's use of sections. The previous section will need to be expanded to encompass this section. I'm not sure what the purpose is of having one column be in a different section than another column in Microsoft office, but fortunately there don't seem to be many examples of them. Likely this is a new capability, because I don't see how to create this in Word 2003. This document ought to be a single page, and the two Text 1 entries should be in column 1 while the two Text2 entries should be in column 2. Instead, Text1 is balanced across both columns, and then there is a page break before the pair of Text 2 entries - which are no longer in columns. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122255 andreas_k changed: What|Removed |Added Depends on||116629 CC||kain...@gmail.com Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #2 from andreas_k --- sorry but have labels is a design decision. I prefer to have short groups so that the empty space is not to big, but separate groups only cause this empty space is also not a good decision. MSO did it that way that when the window shrink labels were removed, but than the UI jump around all the time (which is not what we want). So the final solution (for now) is to have the same shrinking mechanism than for the standard toolbar. I suggest to have the arrow the same style than in the standard toolbar see BUG 116629. -> wfm Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116629 [Bug 116629] notebookbar hide arrow -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122279] New: Feature Request: Hyperlink creation dialog should have option to enter exact href= text that will remain unmodified
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122279 Bug ID: 122279 Summary: Feature Request: Hyperlink creation dialog should have option to enter exact href= text that will remain unmodified Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.7.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: t...@sullivaninusa.com Description: Feature Request: The way LibreOffice now handles hyperlinks does have some usefulness to help avoid broken links. However, if someone knows what they are doing or are working on a page in a location not part of a whole directory tree of pages to which the document is linked, the present system is a real pain. I have had to go and edit the resultant HTML with a text editor to fix links. Thus, one of the options in the hyperlink dialog should be to use the entered text exactly as typed. Right now, http:// is appended automatically for internet links, for example. Comment: Sometimes programs think they are smarter than all users all the time. But sometimes, users need more precise and detailed control. Programs should not get in the user's way in such cases if the user so requests. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Writer, create a document a directory with only the document. 2. Create a relative internet hyperlink, for example, someotherpage.htm. 3. Close the hyperlink dialog. 4. Open the hyperlink dialog. 5. Observe that the link is now http?/someotherpage.htm. 6. Open the resultant HMTL in a text editor and see that that is indeed what follows the href= Actual Results: See above Expected Results: There should have been an option to leave my link the heck alone. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
