[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117465] cutting and pasting from Office 365 docx document to LibreOffice using Windows 10 x64 clipboard intermittent at best
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117465 --- Comment #3 from DoctorBob4390 --- The problem has continued to persist through both Windows 10 Pro x64 updates, Office 365 updates and newer versions of LibreOffice. Cutting from pages displayed in either Edge or Internet Explorer paste as normal within LibreOffice Writer. However, when cutting and pasting from a Word docx document in Office 365 to a LibreOffice template or document it is extremely rare that I am able to paste the content from the clipboard. Procedures used when bug occurs: Using the mouse to highlight text in Office 365 document and right clicking on the mouse allows "copy" from the drop down menu to place data on clipboard...This was tested by replicating the copied material in the document from which it was coppied. However, right clicking the point of entry in a LibreOffice Writer dcoumnet results in "paste" being greyed out and, if selected, displays "no paste options available." Using Control+C from the keyboard on highlighted docx text to place the information on the clipboard and right clicking on the mouse in LibreOffice Writer again results "paste" being greyed out and, if selected, displays "no paste options available." Using Control+C to copy highlighted text within the docx text followed by Control+Y at the selected point of entry in a Writer document will function properly a maximum of three times within Writer document. Additionally, selecting "edit" from the menue results in "Paste" being greyed out in the drop down menu. I currently have two different computers, both with the same operating system, same version of Office 365 and, same version of Libre Office installed. The computers each have different 64-bit microprocessors and different memory configurations. However, both systems are experiencing the same issues. FYI the cut and paste works flawlessly between docx and WordPerfect so it is not a clipboard incompatibility. Open GL and Open CL are both functional. Both computers are configured as follows current Operating System is Windows 10 Pro x64 ver. 16.0.17134 Build 17134 Office 365 version is 16.0.11029.20108 LibreOffice version is 6.1.2.1 Memory on one system has an I3 processor and 4-GB memory the other has and I5 processor and 8-GB of memory. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115747] Can't edit file on samba shares ( see comment 28 )
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115747 --- Comment #36 from Justin L --- (In reply to Thorsten Behrens (CIB) from comment #35) > the question is, does setting UseDocumentOOoLockFile > to false constitute a valid workaround? >From a testing perspective, the result is that files can be saved (no warnings, just a save as normal). Opening files result in a warning and read-only mode. (P.S. no "user" will be able to answer questions about what is an acceptable work-around. Now we have at least 3 variables related to locking - how can anyone know what the implications of any of this are, especially when no definitions have been given? Based on comment 19, this is not a "rare" case, so it would be really hard to determine if preventing ANY use of a dotlock file is valid in every case.) It seems like your concern already had been addressed. Wasn't setting UseDocumentSystemLocking = false a good enough workaround for those who want to require the existence of a lock file? (Perhaps not - I'd guess that the benefit of ALSO using a system lock is that the user CANNOT override it, like they CAN do with an OOo lock file. Probably also worth noting is that it isn't checking if the system SUCCEEDED in using it's own locking mechanism, only that it would try...). UseDocumentSystemFileLocking: Allows to specify whether the OOo document file locking mechanics should use the system file locking (default true). UseDocumentOOoLockFile: Allows to specify whether the OOo document file locking mechanics should use the lock file for locking (default true). UseLocking: Allows to specify whether locking should be used at all. Use this setting only for debugging purpose (default true). UseWebDAVFileLocking: Determines if WebDAV-specific file locking is used for documents on WebDAV shares. It is not recommended to set this option to 'false' in scenarios where multi-user, concurrent read/write access to WebDAV share is required (default true). Because A) this is a regression, B) which already had an alternate solution (SystemLocking = false), C) and the description uses the terminology "Allow" instead of "Mandatory", D) involving an unnecessary file for normal operation, E) caused by undocumented rationale for the changed behaviour, I suggest reverting this bit and introducing a MandatoryLocking variable to handle the very unique situations where locking files actually have any value. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61835 --- Comment #9 from QA Administrators --- ** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122661 Drew Jensen changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Summary|Borders of form-controls|FORMS: Borders of |aren't shown any more |form-controls set to 'FLAT' ||style are so narrow and ||light as to be all but lost ||to view --- Comment #1 from Drew Jensen --- Confirmed (some of this) with Ubuntu 18.04.1 and LO Version: 6.2.0.2 Build ID: 2ce5217b30a543f7666022df50f0562f82be0cff CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; First - the borders; this is a problem only when the controls are set to style 'FLAT'. The borders are now very thin and a very light grey, on light backgrounds (such as white) they are easily missed. Second - The highlighting of selected control by changing the border color to blue is not happening at all. (I think that is worth a separate issue, but I'll hold off on entering to give people a chance to speak if they think this issue should cover both) A good example database to see this is attached to https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122358 Steps to reproduce: 1 - download the attached zip file, extract the odb and open it 2 - open the single form in the file 3 - select any of the controls on the left side of the form results: The controls look almost as if they have no border at all. (it appears that the controls in FLAT style use the same border settings that the lower and right borders use when the style is set to 3D.) The control border of the selected control did not highlight by changing to blue. expected: The controls should have a visually stronger border on all sides when style is FLAT. A control set to style FLAT should display a highlighted, in blue, border when receiving focus and revert to the default border when losing it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I was able to unzip the file, delete the Basic folder, and re-zip the file to avoid the macro problem. I didn't see anywhere in the code that could have accomplished this. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100850] libreoffice base use too much memory
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100850 --- Comment #14 from Robert Großkopf --- Have tried the testfile. What language should it be? Seems I could only see rectangles, no fieldnames and also only one field with readable content. There is much memory used - but for what? So I tested with my own databases: 1. database connected to internal HSQLDB 140 MB before opening the database, 250 MB after opening the "Table"-pane and 490 MB after opening a table with only 20 rows/5 columns (names, birthdays, gender). 2. same database, created by the migration-wizard, works now with internal Firebird 140 MB before, then 160 MB after opening the database-file and switching to "Tables" and 175 MB after opening the table. Seems the memory is all needed for HSQLDB to work in the memory. Don't know if the bug could be fixed and if we should invest in this bug, because we want to migrate to Firebird and this bug seems to be a good argument for doing this step. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

If in a > deployment people are ok to only use system file locking, the config option > UseDocumentOOoLockFile should be set to false. In my opinion, the original fix (and this comment) somehow change the proper notion of a feature/function that helps to reach some goals (reliably detect locking/identify locking person) to a requirement for function (=if we cannot detect locking reliably, then fail to work).
