I've tried with the latest stable. The bug is still there. The About Dialog

'
Version: 6.1.4.2
Build ID: 9d0f32d1f0b509096fd65e0d4bec26ddd1938fd3
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;

The trigger procedure modified as:
1. open a new Impress file.
2. switch to Chinese Input Method(fcitx/Pingyin Or Wubi)(this step is not
neccessary as long as you can type Chinese character in step 5)
3. type 2 lines in a textbox.
4. select the 2 lines with mouse.
5. try to type some Chinese character.
then the Impress crashed and the CPU usage ratio of goes up. The command of
the process is:
/opt/libreoffice6.1/program/soffice.bin--impress--splash-pipe=5%
I have to kill it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117465] cutting and pasting from Office 365 docx document to LibreOffice using Windows 10 x64 clipboard intermittent at best

2019-01-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117465

The problem has continued to persist through both Windows 10 Pro x64 updates,
Office 365 updates and newer versions of LibreOffice. Cutting from pages
displayed in either Edge or Internet Explorer paste as normal within
LibreOffice Writer. However, when cutting and pasting from a Word docx document
in Office 365 to a LibreOffice template or document it is extremely rare that I
am able to paste the content from the clipboard.

Procedures used when bug occurs:
Using the mouse to highlight text in Office 365 document and right clicking on
the mouse allows "copy" from the drop down menu to place data on
clipboard...This was tested by replicating the copied material in the document
from which it was coppied. However, right clicking the point of entry in a
LibreOffice Writer dcoumnet results in "paste" being greyed out and, if
selected, displays "no paste options available."

Using Control+C from the keyboard on highlighted docx text to place the
information on the clipboard and right clicking on the mouse in LibreOffice
Writer again results "paste" being greyed out and, if selected, displays "no
paste options available."

Using Control+C to copy highlighted text within the docx text followed by
Control+Y at the selected point of entry in a Writer document will function
properly a maximum of three times within Writer document. Additionally,
selecting "edit" from the menue results in "Paste" being greyed out in the drop
down menu.

I currently have two different computers, both with the same operating system,
same version of Office 365 and, same version of Libre Office installed. The
computers each have different 64-bit microprocessors and different memory
configurations. However, both systems are experiencing the same issues.

FYI the cut and paste works flawlessly between docx and WordPerfect so it is
not a clipboard incompatibility.

Open GL and Open CL are both functional.

Both computers are configured as follows
current Operating System is Windows 10 Pro x64 ver. 16.0.17134 Build 17134
Office 365 version is 16.0.11029.20108
LibreOffice version is 6.1.2.1
Memory on one system has an I3 processor and 4-GB memory the other has and I5
processor and 8-GB of memory.

If any additional information is needed, please state specifically what
information you need.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115747] Can't edit file on samba shares ( see comment 28 )

2019-01-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115747

(In reply to Thorsten Behrens (CIB) from comment #35)
> the question is, does setting UseDocumentOOoLockFile
> to false constitute a valid workaround?

>From a testing perspective, the result is that files can be saved (no warnings,
just a save as normal). Opening files result in a warning and read-only mode.

(P.S. no "user" will be able to answer questions about what is an acceptable
work-around. Now we have at least 3 variables related to locking - how can
anyone know what the implications of any of this are, especially when no
definitions have been given? Based on comment 19, this is not a "rare" case, so
it would be really hard to determine if preventing ANY use of a dotlock file is
valid in every case.)

It seems like your concern already had been addressed. Wasn't setting
UseDocumentSystemLocking = false a good enough workaround for those who want to
require the existence of a lock file? (Perhaps not - I'd guess that the benefit
of ALSO using a system lock is that the user CANNOT override it, like they CAN
do with an OOo lock file. Probably also worth noting is that it isn't checking
if the system SUCCEEDED in using it's own locking mechanism, only that it would
try...).

UseDocumentSystemFileLocking: Allows to specify whether the OOo document file
locking mechanics should use the system file locking (default true).

UseDocumentOOoLockFile: Allows to specify whether the OOo document file locking
mechanics should use the lock file for locking (default true).

UseLocking: Allows to specify whether locking should be used at all. Use this
setting only for debugging purpose (default true).

UseWebDAVFileLocking: Determines if WebDAV-specific file locking is used for
documents on WebDAV shares. It is not recommended to set this option to 'false'
in scenarios where multi-user, concurrent read/write access to WebDAV share is
required (default true).

Because
A) this is a regression,
B) which already had an alternate solution (SystemLocking = false),
C) and the description uses the terminology "Allow" instead of
"Mandatory",
D) involving an unnecessary file for normal operation,
E) caused by undocumented rationale for the changed behaviour,

I suggest reverting this bit and introducing a MandatoryLocking variable to
handle the very unique situations where locking files actually have any value.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122666] New: Duplicate and ambiguous function names in Customise \ Keyboard

2019-01-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122666

Bug ID: 122666
Summary: Duplicate and ambiguous function names in Customise \
Keyboard
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: serge...@gmail.com

Description:
The 'Customise' pop-up dialog, under 'Keyboard' tab displays a list of
functions in the middle list-view.

Some function names in the list-view are displayed multiple times. Examples:
* 'Increase' listed 3 times
* 'Insert cells' listed 2 times
* 'Left' listed 3 times
* 'Line' listed 2 times

Searching also does not work properly. For example, it is not possible to find
the 'Increase indent' function by searching for 'indent'.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Calc.
2. Select Tools menu. Select Customise.
3. Activate Keyboard tab.
4. Scroll within the function name list-view, or search for a specific function
(eg 'increase indent').

Actual Results:
a. When searching for 'increase indent', there are no results.
b. When searching for 'indent', there are no results.
c. When searching for 'increase', there are 3 results, and it is not possible
to tell which (if any) is actually 'Increase indent'.

Expected Results:
a. Function 'Increase indent' listed.
b. Function 'Increase indent' listed.
c. Function 'Increase indent' listed.

Reproducible: Always

That's a fair statement wrt. the scope & wording of the fix. But I conversely
consider a setup where arbitrary shell globs of files cannot be written a
corner case - the question is, does setting UseDocumentOOoLockFile to false
constitute a valid workaround? -> NEEDINFO for the moment

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122665] New: Many "Exception in..." warnings when editing data using Basic macros

2019-01-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 122665
Summary: Many "Exception in..." warnings when editing data
using Basic macros
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Description:
A spreadsheet with Basic macros sometimes crashes Calc while the macro code
deletes rows or whole Sheets. Unfortunately the crash is not reproducible on
demand, which makes me suspect some kind of memory corruption or referential
integrity issue (e.g. following old pointers to deleted objects on the heap).

Although the crash is not reproducible, the following warnings always occur on
the terminal during these operations:

** (soffice:31457): WARNING ** Exception in getAccessibleIndexInParent()
** (soffice:31457): WARNING ** Exception in getAccessibleName()
(repeated many times).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached spreadsheet (exceptions.ods)and ENABLE MACROS.
2. Click the black "DISC+Reload" button.

Actual Results:
Many warnings on the terminal like
...Exception in getAccessibleIndexInParent()
...Exception in getAccessibleName()

Expected Results:
Silence.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The warnings happen in 5.x and later including master, but not in 3.6.7.2

(Sorry; was I able to attach the file to the comment? I wasn't really watching.
D'oh!)

I had this db on the desktop. When I registered it the failure returned; when I
deregistered it the failure went away again.

I don't recall where the db came from; I have a similarly named .mdb file that
I do recall downloading, but don't know how I converted it to .db.
(I'm pretty sure the original _was_ an Access database; this version certainly
seems to be an sqlite db. I really do wish I could remember how I converted it.
Really, really, really :-)

Ahh. Interesting.

I did have a couple of databases listed there. I deleted them both and now I
can insert references to my heart's content without any problems.

Interesting...

I just registered the (soon to be) attached database file with Tools > Options
... LibreOffice Base>Databases ... New and the failure returned. I
delete/unregistered it again and all is well.

That's me well satisfied, thank you. I hope you're able to track down and fix
the underlying cause.

Ah, my bad, I forgot to reply to your e-mail here. Open Tools -> Options...,
LibreOffice Base -> Datbases. There's a default one, Bibliography, I'm
interested if whether anything else is there.

No specific ideas so far, but there've been a few crashes with combination of
fields + mail-merge data sources (which would also appear in that list).

Example ODT file shows corrupted index entry

I think this is the same bug. In my case the index entry is placed after some
text that includes a superscript and subscript (for demonstration purposes).

The index entry ends up with the same superscript or subscript in the positions
from the original text.

In the attached example,
* The superscript “1” is at position 5, and causes the “y” in “entry” to be a
superscript.
* The subscript “2” is at position 8, and causes the “e” in “text” to be a
subscript.

Adding
LO 6_1_3_2-Impress HW acceleration ON.png (Corrupted screens)
LO 6_1_3_2-Impress HW acceleration OFF.png (Not Corrupted)

HW acceleration off does not exhibit corruption but takes 10+ seconds/slide to
paint screen (not acceptable for a real presentation). MS Power Point
paints/builds "next" screen in a non-visible background buffer so when the next
slide is requested transition is nearly instant as a result of a HW copy of
memory buffer to the screen buffer. LibreOffice Impress needs something close
to this level of performance. LibreOffice Impress otherwise is an excellent
and impressive tool, it just can't perform well enough for real presentations
until this is fixed.

To confirm that I was able to add the modification filed using my Mint version
and that my Windows version happily displayed the contents of the field once
the file was transferred there.

I'm sat at my Windows machine now and still haven't noted details of the Mint
machine. Let me know if you need them.

Note for xtext.py:

I was just working on xtext.py as part of this bug, and I just found a note,
showing that removing annotations that have already been removed doesn't result
in an exception. According to the unit test, it should.

Should I report this as a separate issue? I don't really know what the
annotations are for, or what they do, but with a bit of guidance I am happy to
try to fix this issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122661] FORMS: Borders of form-controls set to 'FLAT' style are so narrow and light as to be all but lost to view

2019-01-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Drew Jensen changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Ever confirmed|0 |1
 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW
Summary|Borders of form-controls|FORMS: Borders of
   |aren't shown any more |form-controls set to 'FLAT'
   ||style are so narrow and
   ||light as to be all but lost
   ||to view

Confirmed (some of this) with Ubuntu 18.04.1 and LO
Version: 6.2.0.2
Build ID: 2ce5217b30a543f7666022df50f0562f82be0cff
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

First - the borders; this is a problem only when the controls are set to style
'FLAT'. The borders are now very thin and a very light grey, on light
backgrounds (such as white) they are easily missed.

Second - The highlighting of selected control by changing the border color to
blue is not happening at all. (I think that is worth a separate issue, but I'll
hold off on entering to give people a chance to speak if they think this issue
should cover both)

A good example database to see this is attached to
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122358

Steps to reproduce:

1 - download the attached zip file, extract the odb and open it
2 - open the single form in the file
3 - select any of the controls on the left side of the form

results:
The controls look almost as if they have no border at all. (it appears that the
controls in FLAT style use the same border settings that the lower and right
borders use when the style is set to 3D.)

The control border of the selected control did not highlight by changing to
blue.

expected:
The controls should have a visually stronger border on all sides when style is
FLAT.
A control set to style FLAT should display a highlighted, in blue, border when
receiving focus and revert to the default border when losing it.

Doesn't appear with LO 6.1.4.2 on OpenSUSE 15 64bit rpm Linux.

Note: Also the whole menubar is disabled when opening the form. Something is
running totally wrong here.

The code that identifies the "presence" of the macros is in
sfx2/source/doc/docmacromode.cxx.

So, ODS files are just zip files. I believe that the presence of Basic folder
with script files in it triggers the macros. I was able to unzip the file,
delete the Basic folder, and re-zip the file to avoid the macro problem.

I didn't see anywhere in the code that could have accomplished this. One thing
to investigate is why the "delete" button cannot delete these things in the
modules area.

No.
Problem is not solved if I change the anchor target.
Yes, temporary solved, as always, but after save-close-open they all messed up
again.

As, I have images wrapped in parallel with contour, and they are overlapped,
why is not a bug?
Wrapped in parallel means that anything can overlap areas excluded from contour
polygon. If areas included in polygon overlapped, it is a bug.
Am I wrong with this?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100850] libreoffice base use too much memory

2019-01-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100850

Have tried the testfile. What language should it be? Seems I could only see
rectangles, no fieldnames and also only one field with readable content. There
is much memory used - but for what?

So I tested with my own databases:
1. database connected to internal HSQLDB
140 MB before opening the database, 250 MB after opening the "Table"-pane and
490 MB after opening a table with only 20 rows/5 columns (names, birthdays,
gender).
2. same database, created by the migration-wizard, works now with internal
Firebird
140 MB before, then 160 MB after opening the database-file and switching to
"Tables" and 175 MB after opening the table.

Seems the memory is all needed for HSQLDB to work in the memory. Don't know if
the bug could be fixed and if we should invest in this bug, because we want to
migrate to Firebird and this bug seems to be a good argument for doing this
step.

I just tried removing the profile, and it still launches normally.

I apologize though, I think this might be a different bug than the one with the
distro version, because this one was fixed simply by rebooting. I did not think
to try removing the profile for this new bug, since the first bug was not fixed
by that. But, I did try running with --nologo --norestore --safe-mode, and it
had the same result of exit immediately with code 0... until I rebooted that
is.

In my opinion, the original fix (and this comment) somehow change the proper
notion of a feature/function that helps to reach some goals (reliably detect
locking/identify locking person) to a requirement for function (=if we cannot
detect locking reliably, then fail to work). Is that what is intended? and what
exact problem was solved by that change, that justifies making this
enforcement? The original problem in tdf#106942 only mentioned a corner case of
"drive full", which could be detected separately and acted accordingly.
