[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101646] UI option "Scaling" was removed
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101646 --- Comment #42 from Yury --- My apologies, but do the decision-makers even understand the issue raised here (and in #67372)?? For I, for example, did not understand at all the reason for closing #67372 (which, incidentally, is actually NOT a duplicate of this #101646), and I do not actually understand the argumentation for these options removal. I *believe* the end-user *might* "legitimately" wish to independently change UI font face AND UI font size AND the scale of UI elements, to better suite one's current requirements on application *usability*. The bulk of actual work is done in applications, not in desktop environments. And even applications may differ w/r to their requirements for the text display. When I'm working with a text or a diagram, I don't even get to see the desktop space, as the app's space is maximised. The OOO is multi-platform, I might work as a guest, with a portable installation, etc. Now, one actually must have legible text in Writer/Draw menus and dialogs, as those are used frequently, as opposite to, say, web browser. (and no, countless toolbars or whatever they are called now--stripes? ribbons? do not decisively help here; I have many of those switched on, but only for addons; BTW, new LO icons are rather indistinguishable, both from each other and from background) Also, in OOO you might want to make the graphic parts of dialogs (say, color or hatching samples) bigger, without tying those changes to the text size. Or you might want different UI font face and/or size. And you might want to make those changes just for the brief period, e.g., for the screen-cast, or when your eyes are tired, or when you work in sub-optimal lighting conditions, etc. Now, I'm a OOO user with about 20 years of experience, principally doing lots of text with graphics. But I do not participate in the OOO development. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122750] New: Why was SVM removed from Export?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122750 Bug ID: 122750 Summary: Why was SVM removed from Export? Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: fz1...@gmail.com Description: Maybe this is not a bug, but "by design". But I have to complain that SVM is no longer available as an export format in LibreOffice Draw 6.0.7.3 (it was probably dropped around 6.0). The reason why this format was so useful is that it was the ONLY format that reliably worked for taking diagrams from DRAW and importing into WRITER. SVG export sometimes works, but often fails with more complex text formatting, or for certain objects (like curly brackets...I think it includes an extra dot). EMF doesn't always work, any white areas added to label backgrounds in arrows fail to show, among others. SVM was the ONLY format that always worked with everything: text, objects, gradients, etc. Now it's gone from DRAW. My only workaround for drawings that won't export properly to EMF or SVG is to export the drawing to PDF, then import the PDF into Inkscape, and then export to SVG. This usually works, but it's an extra step. Why do we have to remove stuff that works? Steps to Reproduce: Example A: 1. Create New DRAW page. 2. Insert curly brace from Symbols. 3. Rotate 90 degrees. 4. Export to SVG. 5. Import to WRITER. Example B: 1. Create New DRAW Page. 2. Insert an Arrow with a stem. 3. Double-click the stem to add a label. 4. Type some text. 5. Select the text and apply a white Highlight (background). 6. Export to EMF and SVG. 7. Import either of these into WRITER. Actual Results: Example A: Brace has an extra black dot beside it. Example B: The Highlight is not showing and the stem of the arrow goes through the text. Expected Results: No black dot, highlighting to be still applied. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: These are two simple examples. I usually work with more complex diagrams that have many elements and blocks of text, so I would have to look through my past work to find a better example, if there is any interest in this problem. For me, at least, SVM export in DRAW would be very useful. Please note that I've also tried copy/pasting a drawing from DRAW into WRITER and this does not often give a good result, so export/import seems to be necessary, except for the most simple elements. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121023] Writer: Table Contents text is always set to Liberation Serif 12 despite 'Basic Fonts' settings
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121023 --- Comment #5 from Jim Raykowski --- Hi All, In the Insert Table Dialog (Menu->Table->Insert Table), Default Style is the default choice in the Styles list box. A table with any table style applied will overwrite direct formatting. This is what is happening here. Selecting None in the Style list box will create a table that will not have a table style. Direct formatting will not be overwritten. The Table tool button creates tables with no style assigned. They have the interaction "Start object action" assigned. This command is only available for OLE objects. When assigning it, the list provides all available verbs. That are the same verbs as in Edit > Object. Slide 1 has a document as OLE from WordPad with verb "Edit". "Open" would be available too. It works in edit mode and show mode. Slide 2 has a pdf-file as OLE. In edit mode it opens Acrobat Reader for me. Slide 3 has Math-Objects, one with verb "Edit", the other with verb "Save Copy as...". Slide 4 has a Chart-Object with verb "Edit". Slides 2, 3 and 4, work in edit mode, but not in show mode. Expected behavior: At least the own document types should work in show mode too. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121560] Multiple but not all worksheets completely suddenly blank
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121560 --- Comment #7 from studog --- "You don't say where exactly loss reoccurred, I see that "Losses - Legend" is empty." Same tab, "Losses - Legend", completely blank. Although the formatting was intact; column sizes mainly. "Sorry for changing to Needinfo but bug report makes sense for reproducible and clear issue. So far, not enough to confirm." Bug reports make sense for bugs. Which this is, as I have never purposefully performed a "delete all content" action for any tab in this workbook, ever. Thus the loss of data is a bug. Would it be nice if it was demand-reproducible? Yes. I'm a programmer. I am very familiar with debugging. As of right now, it is not demand-reproducible, but, it does occur from time to time, so it is reproducible. So I agree with Needinfo; reproduction steps are required. Since we don't have those, but do have a situation where the bug occurs, suggesting debugging steps would be much appreciated. I tried turning on the Edit -> Track Changes -> Record Changes thing but it produces way too much info that requires user interaction. If it record changes silently, like Google's Sheet's versioning, that would be ideal. I've come to suspect that there is a mouse-based action, perhaps interacting with the worksheet tabs and/or tabs bar, that is in fact "delete all content", but I haven't found any documentation on anything like that. The reason I suspect this is because I'm often mouse-grabbing the horizontal scroll bar, just near the "Losses - Legend" tab, to scroll horizontally, AND, I often miss the scroll bar (because it is way too thin, a different issue) and grab the tabs instead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122712] corrupted drawing on loading .svg file
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122712 --- Comment #5 from mcbob --- Roman, I tried again and found the menu item. That does indeed fix the drawing. Ungrouping was not required in any previous version that I have used. It is a change in behavior that will confuse others as well as me. I leave it for you guys to decide whether this is a bug or a feature. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121670 Justin L changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Assignee|libreoffice-b...@lists.free |jl...@mail.com |desktop.org | Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #8 from Justin L --- LIKELY TO EXPOSE SECTION EXPORT/IMPORT PROBLEMS. That is already happening somewhat because support for forms/protected sections was added in LO6.2. By making this change in 6.3, it will help to expose problems faster, with the hope that they can still be fixed for 6.2. Therefore, I hope to re-evaluate this at the end of the 6.3 and determine whether I'm comfortable leaving it in place, or whether it is too risky and should be reverted. I've solved about 6 different section bugs in the week prior to pushing this commit... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
