Of course there are better solutions. For example we made a fancy mockup for the Navigator https://design.blog.documentfoundation.org/2016/07/31/how-the-navigator-may-support-object-handling-in-libreoffice-draw/ but due to lack of development expertise (and the need for effort in other areas) it's far from being implemented. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115817] Correct implementation or remove the Navigation toolbar (a GSOC 2009 contribution see bug 32869) (comment 3 for history and functional intent)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115817 --- Comment #27 from russell --- Created attachment 148536 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=148536=edit Docked Navigator in Writer, Calc and Navigation Toolbar Please see the attached image. I use the Navigator docked in the sidebar, in both Writer & Calc. I have more horizontal space than vertical, so I add things to the left or right. I dock everything when available. I don't use the Navigation Toolbar (1), because I use the Navigator scrollable list. It seems the main purpose of the Navigation Toolbar is to prime the left and right arrows on the Navigator (or the up & down arrows in the Navigation Toolbar). The "Extended Help" text changes over the Navigator left and right arrows to reflect what was selected in the Navigation Toolbar. Suggestion 1: How about changing how the button works in the Navigator. When clicked, rather than opening the Navigation Toolbar, change the button to a drop-down radio list, similar to (2) and (3). Change the button image to reflect the action being taken; Reuse the images that are currently shown on the Navigation Toolbar. The arrows in the Navigator can then be used to reposition. To change what to maneuver to, just click the Navigation button on the Navigator and select a different radio button. Suggestion 2: Remove the button, and instead use whatever is highlighted/selected in the Navigator list to prime the arrows. For example, if the user clicks on "Images" the arrows would find the previous and next images. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80756] LibO crashes when Nuance Dragon Dictate is running
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80756 --- Comment #35 from Henry Lieberman --- Libre Office has had a longstanding bug that makes it crash whenever a Mac user has the Accessibility feature turned on of allowing other programs to "control your computer". This bug is still present in Libre Office 6.2. It is likely responsible for many other Libre Office bug reports from unsuspecting users. You can see the option under System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy tab and Accessibility option on sidebar. The option is, "Allow the apps to control your computer". If you don't have that turned on for any apps, LO works fine. However, increasing numbers of programs do use that option. I have it turned on for: Default Folder X (file and folder cache) Dragon (speech reco) Dropbox (cloud file system) IShowU (screen recorder) Quickeys (macro program) LO is unreliable in the presence of this option, often crashing and rendering it unusable. Turning on and off this option for multiple programs takes a fair bit of work, so is not feasible on an everyday basis for most users. Nor is abandoning every program that needs this option. This should really be fixed. Otherwise you will see an attrition of your Mac user community as people keep on running into this bug and not understanding the cause, they will blame LO. It's a shame, but I have abandoned everyday use of LO because of this. I would like to go back. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67943] ACCESSIBILITY: Issues with tabbed dialogs on Mac OS X
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67943 --- Comment #10 from QA Administrators --- ** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! When I try on my system (Win 7, 64bit 6.0.1.1) I am only offered Libre Office (not calc). I suspect the bug lies in the LO UI or installation and the filetype registrations it makes. Indeed, if you simply open a spreadsheet you will find that soffice is the container application: scalc is no longer visible outside it in Windows. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122807] LO 6.1.4.2: Spreadsheet: Graph of Column + Line not displaying line
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122807 Oliver Brinzing changed: What|Removed |Added CC||xiscofa...@libreoffice.org --- Comment #4 from Oliver Brinzing --- (In reply to Hylton Conacher from comment #3) > Tnx Oliver, however this does and does not solve the problem and editing the > graph and inserting trendline actually inserts Trend lines for all 4 values > :( That is why I calculated the value at which the line must be shown and > made it the last item in the Data Range. Why when I choose column and line > does it not respect that the last entry must be a line? to be honest i have no idea if this is possible at all, and if this issue can be seen as a bug. @xisco: do you know someone who has more knowledge about charts? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
