[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123550] Paragraph Option "Do not split Paragraph" is Greyed Out and Can Not be Selected

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123550

Created attachment 149401
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=149401=edit
state of the dialogue in Version 6.3.0.0.0 alpha+ after clicking on 'Do not
split paragraph'.

Observe that the number of lines for orphan/widow control is zero (I don't know
how I got there, possibly a setting from working on the file with an earlier
version of LO Writer).

   Version: 6.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer

  Reporter: luu...@gmail.com

When selecting the Insert menu, and after that typing the letter 'p'
(repeatedly), the 'Page-break' and 'Special character' are selected in turn.

The menu choice 'Page number' is never selected, while this also has an
underscore under the 'p'.

I think typing 'p' should cycle from 'Page break' to 'Special character' to
'Page number'?

Description:
Add opportunity to open Autofilter window uses shortcut.

I want to have opportunity to open Autofilter window by shortcut when cursor is
on cell in Autofilter range.
For example, Autofilter range is A1:B100 and cursor is in cell B52 (I don't see
first line with Autofilter's controls). I use a shortcut and it opens
Autofilter window for B column and I'll can use Autofilter options without
scroll page to up.
I know I can fixed first row, but I want use a shortcut anyway ;-) It will be
more fast for me

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See description above

Actual Results:
I can open Autofilter window only by mouse

Expected Results:
I can open Autofilter window by shortcut from any cell of Autofilter's range

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123559] New: *unsaved state of document could be indicated with asterix -- having unsaved changes

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123559

Bug ID: 123559
Summary: *unsaved state of document could be indicated with
asterix -- having unsaved changes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@cspv.hu

it is a very intuitive behavior that text editors (such as Geany) indicate when
a file has been modified by adding an * before the file name

like: *myfile.ext

in the case of a word processor (like LibreOffice Writer), of course, it is
problematic, cause unlike text editors who simply
look at the fact how many characters have been added, how many inputs have been
received ... a word processor like Writer has a whole "markup workshop" behind
the surface and it might be difficult to tell whether the document is the same
as it was 10 minutes ago when it was last saved...

STILL, editing steps and undos could be counted... from a "0" point, the last
saved state (I mean, parallel to counting the editing steps, another counter
would be activated, counting these steps from the last saved state, the "0"
state)

so, when a document has been modified, it could be indicated like
*mydocument.odt

when a number of CTRL+Zs have been issued, IF this number equal to the editing
steps / available undo steps since the last "save",
this indicator would change back to "unmodified"... like "mydoc.odt", without
the *sterix

but if the user hits another CTRL+Z, the document will have been modified
(relative to the last save), so the *indicator would be ON again...

I think this would be very-very helpful :)

--- thank you for developing LibreOffice ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

#1
create a document, add text to it: my apple pie, and save it as mydoc.odt

#2
add "'s gone bad"

#3
then click CTRL+Zs until you see the last saved state: "my apple pie"

---

what happens:

A:
after you modified it, no indication that it has been modified

B:
after you commit CTRL+Zs, there's no indication that you are at the last saved
state

expected behavior:

A:
after you modify the document, its name in the file header at the top should
change to *mydoc.odt

B:
after you've hit some CTRL+Zs and the text is as it was on last save,

indication should change back to "saved" --> mydoc.odt (without the *sterix)

C:
after you hit CTRL+Z once more, it will be again "unsaved" --> *mydoc.odt

D:
if now you hit CTRL+Y, it shuld indicate "saved", again --> mydoc.odt

PS: of course, not the characters but the undo steps should be counted...

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120829

Overriding the lock file should be done only when the previous process has not
ended gracefully, right? Don't think we want to take over the work from other
users- in this case we open readonly or as a copy.

Open readonly in local mode shows an infobar where the user can enable the edit
mode. When opened as a copy (aka inserted from file) it shows the save dialog
on ordinary save actions. Sounds like the usual way for me.

Rather than renaming a message that nobody care about we should tweak the
workflow. The (technical) question remains how to deal with the lockfile from a
terminated process. Can you evaluate this status safely anyway?

I'm sorry, but the backtraces should have been taken of an actual crash. I will

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114924

(In reply to Olivier Hallot from comment #5)
> Would you consider changing default background/line color or shape of the
> handles to differentiate objects underlying the same external appearance?

Admitted, the difference is not clear. Object background color could be an idea
but it is "unit tested" at so many places that we better not touch it. The
simple solution is a text in the properties dialog. Ideally we have a special
ticket for this.

> Another question is how bad is to drop (or hide) the commands to create the
> legacy shapes, so from now on only custom shapes are created?

There are always use cases for different features and removing one ends up in a
regression.

Word version of the same copy-pasted text is fine. See the attachment and the
screenshot I just added. I have Microsoft Office 2011's Word.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

You did not understand but, no I did not enter the WRONG formula!!!Mine was
identical to yours, BUT located in the next column over, and copied down the
entire column. When some were overtly different than the tally shown in column
N, in column P I used sum of them / 12, and that worked. My formula was
=AVERAGE (B4:M4) or whatever the row number was and in the P column
=SUM(B4:M4)/12. The numbers that calculated were different and the one that
was correct was the sum.../12 one. I discarded the file. And, can't reproduce
it in a newly opened copy. One thing I worked on for a bit before this occurred
was putting my calculations in a new worksheet and when that didn't go so well,
I tried to copy some of the data into the new worksheet and I believe that was
there abandoned when I finally tried working directly on the original
worksheet. Please don't discount this for the reason YOU think I put in the
wrong calculation because I am certain I did not. You can discount it for any
other reason- I don't care. But it did happen and if someone isn't paying
attention, the AVERAGE calculation could malfunction again for something more
important than what I was using it for and might not go unnoticed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118478] OpenPGP / GnuPG issues

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118478

I would prefer not to do such steps as I use the software. I have this same
issue on all laptops I have LibreOffice installed on, and also use GPG on all
as well with no issues on Thunderbird, manual signing, file encryption, etc. If
LibreOffice cannot find it, there seems to be a bigger issue as the install is
all default, nothing changed or modified in any way except for the import and
export of keys, and in some cases, a newly generated key.

I am currently using Version: 6.1.5.2, Build ID:
1:6.1.5~rc2-0ubuntu0.18.04.1~lo3 on this laptop which was a fresh install on a
new hard disk about 3 months ago. Everything as reported is identical, as well
as everything else working just fine.

Is there any way to see any debug into without needing to install a "new"
product? It seems odd as if it wants to find gpg, it just needs to look in the
default location. I also cannot find any settings on how I might make sure it
is looking there.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123555] New: Text Document render blank squares instead of Chinese characters

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123555

Bug ID: 123555
Summary: Text Document render blank squares instead of Chinese
characters
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: linquan1...@qq.com

Description:
1. IF I set Chinese in preference - language:
the tooltip of icons on tooltip is like: □□□(⌘U), (IT should be like: 下划线(⌘U)
if I set English in preference - language:
the tooltip of icons on tooltip is good: Underline(⌘U), but in the document
index, the tooltip of the index link, there is still:
 ⌘-Click to follow link: □□□

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open LibreOffice writer on macOS
2. if you can set Chinese Language, do set Chinese Language in preferences. If
you can't, try step 3
3. type some chinese content, and generate index.
4. put your mouse hover the index link, you can see ⌘-Click to follow link:
□□□

Actual Results:
the tooltip of icons on tooltip is like: □□□(⌘U)

in the document index, the tooltip of the index link, there is:
 ⌘-Click to follow link: □

Expected Results:
the tooltip of icons on tooltip is like:
下划线(⌘U)

in the document index, the tooltip of the index link, there is:
 ⌘-Click to follow link: 可能涉及改动的模块

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
1. ALL font are provided by macOS 10.14.3 and I didn't install any third party
font.
2. I make NO changes to LibreOffice.
3. I believe the bug is ALL about the tooltip, the engineers forget about the
case when unicode character (such as Chinese) showing in the tooltip.
4. I also believe that there is something to do with ⌘ mark, because whenever ⌘
mark appears together with Chinese charater, the occurs.

That's all, can you help solve the bug please?
It's not a big bug really, however it did bother me.

This commit replaces the use of hb_feature_from_string() with a much simpler
feature syntax parser, which probably breaks more things as HarfBuzz syntax is
more elaborate.

This is already implemented. HarfBuzz will emulate various spaces when not

You would need to address this with Unicode, applications tweaking the
algorithm on their own (except where it is explicitly permitted by the
algorithm) is just a recipe for broken interoperability.

Buovjaga, you are right and I forgot that: For epileptics, an intense flicker
can cause harm. However, reducing the brightness of LO's window background by
say 5% (e.g. going from ff to f2f2f2 or to ffe0ff (which would be 15%
reduction for the green channel alone) for 1/2 second will not affect people
suffering from epilepsy.

The acoustic notification seems not to be present in the daily build which I
checked. Shall I open a new bug report for the missing acoustic signal or just
only for my modified advice to additionally signal a wrap around optically when
a wrap around has happened during search (in any direction)?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114924] FORMATTING - Adapt shape Width/Height to text option not available

2019-02-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114924

I tested Regina's comments to see where it fits in Help. I think there is still
a design issue.

So there are "custom shape" and "shapes".

Visually there is no difference between a rectangle and a custom rectangle at
their default. Both rectables have same blue color.

So in the point of view of the user, Eric's report stands. Different object
have same visual result but different properties.

Would you consider changing default background/line color or shape of the
handles to differentiate objects underlying the same external appearance?

Another question is how bad is to drop (or hide) the commands to create the
legacy shapes, so from now on only custom shapes are created?
