put the cursor on "hi" and change the style by using the menu. the lines above
hi will also change.

This is definitely a bug.

put the cursor next to, or highlight the word "hi"

change the style by using the style pulldown. the lines "Why is this working
now" and "why now?" get highlighted.

So aggravating.

It still happens in 6.2.1.2
Version: 6.2.1.2 (x64)
Build ID: 7bcb35dc3024a62dea0caee87020152d1ee96e71
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

I played with pressing enter and shift-enter...

and if shift-enter was pressed the formatting goes to the next line.

I highlighted the upper line and told it to change to another format and it
applied formatting outside of the highlighted area...

The whole header and styles stuff ignores highlighting... if that is by design
it is hostile...

If there needs to be a new paragraph marker to apply formatting to a selection,
it should create paragraph dividers...If there is no highlighted area, I
can forgive taking the whole line... but it should accept both enter and
shift-enter key as a divider... not blow right past it... if it needs to
convert a shift-enter into an enter (I know there are linefeeds carriage
returns and some other type of character... and in HTML there is BR and P so
... I think shift-enter is a and enter is a but this is insane for
actually editing a document... the editor should be smart enough to deal with
them. It would be better to treat every enter as closing a and have a
different class for them...

I can probably make a video or something...
This is not an easy problem to solve... there may be different strategies that
people prefer... but it is absolutely an error to not respect the highlighted
area when assigning a style...

Either that, or the style needs to be applied without a ... If I do a
highlighted area, I expect only the stuff that I highlight to change... if
something can't be centered do all the changes except for the centering because
I didn't choose a paragraph.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124191] Text copied from a PDF exported using Linux Libertine G Graphite font is missing characters.

2019-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124191

Thanks, I will try that.

I realized after my last post that there is still one contradiction. I have
three laptops in testing here: my office laptop, my home laptop, and a
coworker's office laptop. They are all Dell Precision (M4800 and M6800), so not
much difference in hardware; all running W10 64 latest release.

On the coworker's laptop, where I did a first-time install of LibreOffice 6.2,
the graphite fonts were present, yet the export was fine.

On my home laptop, the graphite fonts were present, yet the export was not
good. Changing to the 5.3 Libertine fonts fixed it, at least for now.

On my office laptop, the graphite fonts were present, along with three older
fonts (4.x releases of Libertine, I can't remember if they were graphite or
not, but most likely they were, as I did not see duplicate fonts in LO). The
export problem was also present there. I also changed to the latest 5.3
Libertine fonts and it seemed to fix the problem.

So I still have one laptop in the equation which has the graphite fonts, and
yet the export works.

Could there be something else going on here, like a font-cache issue?

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98372

I've tweaked the Wiktionary code to work with some more languages, but
eventually it would need to handle langids. I see a useful C++ routine:
https://docs.libreoffice.org/setup_native/html/sellang_8cxx_source.html Is that
information available via UNO?

I discovered that Wiktionary links show up as local URLs, and wasn't able to
fix this via the API, so I changed it on the client side. It's not rocket
science to get data from Wiktionary. Let's add this and other online features
asap.

It turns out to be 1 line of code (using a PIP package) to have Google
translate a string of text and I added that to the file. I also got Azure
translation working. It's not 1 line, but it's not bad. I'll go through this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_machine_translation_applications
and find another FOSS one to talk to.

It seems like LibreOffice could hook up to a number of online services, and
have a dialog box which let you configure what is enabled via the right-click
menu. The Azure API needs a key, for example.

It was discussed in the past in Bug 107915 wrt. style commands. e.g. Text Body
style command definition looks like this:

Text Body

Text Body Paragraph Style

.uno:StyleApply?Style:string=Text
BodyFamilyName:string=ParagraphStyles

9

Note the "TargetURL" part. It's taking .uno:StyleApply?... and creating a new
.uno:TextBodyParaStyle out of it, for the purpose of adding an icon.

I have found since logging this bug that it only applies to M$ formatted
spreadsheets. As I had to maintain compatibility with a windows environment I
used the m$ format.
Since changing to .ods I have not seen the issue.
It still occurs on .xlsx formatted sheets but i just turn it off and then save
as .ods
I believe this bug is relatively minor and could possibly be closed.

@Frank, could you dig out the build of 6.0 you used to export the
"Last-Day-Events.pdf" with. And, please verify that if you open the ODF
document with a 6.1 build, or a 6.2 build and export to PDF that, with the
Graphite Linux Libertine G font build 5.1.3 present, the copy & paste of page
10 is clean.

Also, as Khaled was indicating--there is a difference in font features between
the Graphite modified Libertine G (5.1.3) and Biolinum G (1.1.0) fonts provided
to LibreOffice by László Németh (http://numbertext.org/linux/), and the last
Libertine font project 5.3 build.

So installing the 5.3.0/1.1.8 builds is fine, but only if you do not need the
SIL Graphite font features. Improvements to font feature handling at the LO 6.2
release improve OTF/TTF so the Graphite fonts are not as necessary.

The see also bug 62846 relates to specific issue here of handling Graphite
fonts, which did seem to have issues with the /ToUnicode mapping--but it was
merged with bug 66597 for work implementing an /ActualText tagging that came in
for 6.1 release removing dependence on the /ToUnicode tables where the Graphite
mappings are still wrong. So, this is actually fixed for 6.1.

Additional work of bug 117428 to make the /ActualText word boundary aware will
further improve fidelity of copy/paste for all LO content export to PDF. And
should move us closer to supporting tagged PDF/UA (bug 45636) output.

I just checked the office computer on which I put a clean installation of
LibreOffice yesterday. This was a laptop with a fresh install of Windows 10,
and with no previous installations of LO. It has the following versions of the
Libertine fonts:

Linux Libertine - 5.1.3
Linux Biolinum - 1.1.0

Unfortunately these fonts (and any earlier ones) are the ones that have
problems when trying to copy/paste text from an exported PDF.

I had to migrate to the following:

Linux Libertine - 5.3.0
Linux Biolinum - 1.1.8

Those are the ones I downloaded from the Libertine SourceForge page, the latest
ones. Those are the ones that SHOULD BE distributed with LO, but are not, so
far as I can see.

2019-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100532

The bug is still present.

Version: 6.2.2.2
Build ID: 2b840030fec2aae0fd2658d8d4f9548af4e3518d
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.14.3; UI render: default; VCL: osx;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

BTW. For those using the workaround to either delete/rename the
"org.libreoffice.script.sfl2" file, instead of needing to reboot/shutdown, you
can just kill the background service.

To reiterate.
0. Open terminal
1. Navigate to the file directory with 'cd ~/Library/Application\
Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/'
2. Rename/move/delete the file "org.libreoffice.script.sfl2" with either 'mv'
or 'rm'
3. Restart the background service with 'killall sharedfilelistd'
4. Reopen LibreOffice to check the dock icon context menu for no recent files

Just a caveat, the file will be recreated when it's not present and you have
began a new session of opening/creating files with LibreOffice. So, removing
the file would be better for garbage collection of back ups.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124248] New: Search & Replace Font / Formatting in Impress

2019-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124248

Bug ID: 124248
Summary: Search & Replace Font / Formatting in Impress
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: burnu...@gmail.com

Description:
In MS Office Word / PowerPoint and LibreOffice Writer it is possible to Search
& Replace a Font / Formatting. Impress is missing this option :-(

I discovered this problem with a PDF presentation (converted from Impress)
which can not be opened correctly on an other computer, because a certain font
does not work there. And so I have to search - manually - the large original
Impress file, where this font is used. (Found it after two hours: in a single
form element!)

So, please, make the Font / Format Search & Replace option from Writer also
available in Impress.

Actual Results:
Must search manually for used fonts.

Expected Results:
Can use Search & Replace for Fonts / Formatting.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Thanks a lot for testing and the research. I will look into these tomorrow.
Going to use a bunch of polyfills for most of them.

Regarding the CSS layout, IE11 will see the mobile layout. I don't think it
makes sense to invest in replicating the CSS grid setup with IE (even though it
is possible with https://github.com/postcss/autoprefixer ). I think starting
from next year we should think of dropping support for IE11. Maybe not for the
crucial JavaScript bits that do the redirection, but mostly anyway.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120619] Uninstaller does not delete all folders and blocks one

2019-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120619

Error 1303 is *really* common for any software MSI installers on Windows. It's
enough to google for "MSI error 1303". It's common in the sense that it looks
really independent of specific MSI packages, and affects just any installer at
random; not that it's so frequent that it affects large proportion of users of
any application.

Inability to access the installation directory could happen in two patterns:
first is when something (some not closed handle in some process?) has prevented
the directory from being removed, so the directory is in "almost removed" state
- and in this case it would be completely removed upon all handles closed (so
reboot eliminates the directory; see comments by Oliver, and also "Reboot"
section in our FAQ [1]). This pattern is specific to the Windows generic
handling of low-level modifications of resources that are still in use. But
there's the other - when the directory does not get removed, but has some
incorrect permissions. I don't know if that is related to first scenario; but
it's this pattern about which e.g. Microsoft suggests to take ownership - see
[2] which mentions their KB for MS Office installation (now inaccessible).

There seems to be no identified causes for the problem; but given that the
second scenario tends to repeat on some systems again and again, I wonder if
that could be at least partly connected to specific antiviruses, or to some
system hardening patches; aren't the root directory and/or Program Files
directory permissions modified from factory settings?...

I'd love to hear about some specific things that allow to reliably reproduce
the problem in lab; that could allow to find at least some possible reasons and
maybe fix/workaround them. If you find something substantial, please mention it
here.

Created attachment 150155

Screen capture.

It seems the position of the tooltip is not consistent. It can be reproduced
with the default point, but to make it more conspicuous, please use a large
pointer. Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointers -> Scheme -> Windows Default
(large) (system scheme).

Then, slowly move the pointer down to the "B (bold)" icon from above, not from
below.

If it is not clear, please refer to the attached screen capture (move.gif). It
will be clear.

Just to report that new version of Libreoffice 6.2.2 still has a bug/regression
on MacOS.

I'm a (french) writer. I use LibreOffice for my work. Opening a 200 pages
document and having to scroll each time to the last place I was yesterday is
tedious.

I hope some developper who has a Mac can fix this before the 6.2 cycle is over.

Thanks.

As suggested, I restarted LibreOffice 6.1.0.2 in Safe Mode and tried to print
the problem file. First I opened it in Print Preview, where it looked okay (in
Landscape mode — more about that below). Then I opened the Print dialog from
its icon, and the preview there still looked okay. But when I actually asked
it to PRINT, a PREPARING PAGE window opened with the progress bar filled, and a
spinning beach ball appeared. I finally had to Force Quit LO, as it was not
responding.

The active part of the spreadsheet is wider than it is high, so fits best
printed in Landscape mode. For as many versions of LO as I can remember, I've
had problems with print orientation: what appeared in Print Preview didn't
conform with the preview in the actual Print dialog, nor with what was printed.
Neither the Print Preview nor the Print dialogs have a Portrait/Landscape
orientation option. If I try to print from Print dialog, the page previews in
Landscape mode, but split into two pages, each one formatted in Portrait mode.
In other words, even though the spreadsheet would fit comfortably on a single
page in Landscape mode, the right side of the graph (in this case) is cut off
and placed on a second page. I have to go to Format -> Page -> Page ->
Landscape to change orientation. Then the Print dialog preview looks right (no
graph splitting into 2 pages), but actually trying to print again leads to the
Preparing window and non-responsive LO, requiring a Force Quit.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124245] New: Offline-Help: Incompatible with IE11

2019-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124245

Bug ID: 124245
   Summary: Offline-Help: Incompatible with IE11
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: himajin100...@gmail.com

Description:
see steps to reproduce

1.
First of all, help/help2.js installed in LibreOffice 6.2.1.2 release did not
work with IE11
due to unsupported arrow function
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/69005/

the part should be cherry-picked to 6.2 branch if it's not yet.

2. When I displayed the source in IE11, there was another error reported in the
debugger.

help/index.html complained that there is no definition for getParameterByName
as defined in help/help.html
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/help/help3xsl/help.html?r=5ccfc30b#16

I copied all the code to index.html, without understanding well.

3. I did several tries for the same steps to reproduce after each fix for the
following problems.

3-1.
IE11 complained that there is no startsWith.
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?full=startsWith=help
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36213455/add-startswith-in-ie-11/36213464

3-2.
IE11 does not support Element.matches
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37304037/why-my-code-dont-working-in-ie11
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/help/help3xsl/help.js?r=a678c053#125
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/help/help3xsl/help.js?r=a678c053#129

3-3.
:scope in querySelectorAll is not supported
https://github.com/ademilter/bricklayer/issues/13#issuecomment-219662153

4. Even when I resolved all these above with tentative fix on my own machine, I
tried the Step To Reproduce to see if it works, and it didn't.

because LibreOffice tried to search for the "en-US" help that I did not
install.
C:\Program Files\LibreOffice\help\en-US\text\shared\guide\startcenter.html

the cause was that IE11 did not return correct value for has() method in Set
Object
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/help/help3xsl/help2.js?r=3d0fcf7a#143
and the existingLang function returned en-US.

5. Still rendering/layout issue seems remaining, but I'm not an expert in that
area. at least no complaints are given by the debugger now.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install LibreOffice 6.2.1.2( Other than en-US is preferable, I used ja)
2. Install Offline Help pack( Don't install the help pack for en-US)
3. Set your default web browser to IE11
4. Run LibreOffice
5. Press F1

Actual Results:
Help is not shown even after accepting scripts.

Expected Results:
Help is shown in UI locale Language

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Hi Xisco,

resetting the user profile made the bug disappear. So it is working correctly
now.
Sorry but i didn't know about this thing of the user profile that might show a
wrong behaviour in the program.
Now I'd like to take back some of the personalizations i have made earlier, i
have backupped my profile but i don't know where to search within it.
I'll be checking but i guess that this case can be closed.

Thank you

2019-03-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 124244
Summary: For some fonts switching to Bold makes text invisible
   Product: LibreOffice Online
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: peci...@email.cz

I am using Collabora CODE build in Nextoffice. Since CODE version 4.0.1 (also
in 4.0.2) I experience disappearing of the text, when a specific bold font is
used (e.g. Calibri, Carlito), but for others it works.

It does not matter if the font is installed on the server or not. When I have
text in a cell with this font, switching bold on/off makes it disappear/appear
again. Switching text font e.g. to Arial works smoothly.

The last working version is CODE 4.0.0 from the commit LOOLWSD: 4.0.0 (git
hash: 3c3bc88) and LOkit: Collabora Office 6.0-18 (git hash: e74e598)

The same behavior for Writer, not Calc only.

This does not make sense. The selection is made/indicated by radio button. If
you have multiple valid paths to installed JRE or OpenJDK they all will list
(the dialog parses them from system).

A "remove" path button is not necessary.
