[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123723] Text Cursor Becomes Invisible / Gets Hidden After Changing Individual Words' Text Formatting Using Hotkey or Toolbar Buttons

An interesting similar case in desktop: clicking into a piece of text and changing it eg. to bold changes it for the whole word, and also hides the caret. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124639] New: Cannot set paper size in print dialog
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124639 Bug ID: 124639 Summary: Cannot set paper size in print dialog Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Printing and PDF export Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kurt.fitz...@gmail.com Libreoffice invokes the OS printer settings dialog in such a way as prevents the user from being able to set the paper size. When invoking the the OS printer through File->Printer Settings, the paper size is selectable. However, when invoking it through File->Print, the paper size is fixed to what LibreOffice thinks is the closest paper size. This leads to certain printer features being disabled, since some printer drivers have multiple paper size settings that are the same physical size, but different in that they invoke different printer features. Preventing the user from manually setting the printer page size prevents those settings from being accessible. It also seems to be a case of the software telling the user what the user should be doing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124636] New: Borderless print option not preserved, not passed to printer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124636 Bug ID: 124636 Summary: Borderless print option not preserved, not passed to printer Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Printing and PDF export Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kurt.fitz...@gmail.com For certain printers (notably Brother multifunction) that are capable of borderless printing, LibreOffice does preserve the borderless setting and does not pass it on to the printer and it does not even preserve the setting between instances of setting the printer options. For example: File->Print, click Properties: Click Borderless, click ok. Click Properties again and borderless has reverted to unchecked. However: File->Printer Settings, click Properties: Click Borderless, click ok. Click Properties again and borderless remains checked, but then... File->Print, click Properties: Borderless is again unchecked. You can invoke the printer driver's config dialog infinite times through File->Printer Settings, and each time the "Borderless" option will have been preserved. However as soon as you invoke it by File->Print, the borderless option is magically unchecked. This is not the case in any other application. Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word, even Wordpad all preserve the borderless setting in the printer dialog properly. This is not the case with all printer drivers. For example, Epson ESC/P-R printer drivers preserve and pass borderless to the printer and properly print borderless. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124634] New: Display all search results together with context in navigation bar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124634 Bug ID: 124634 Summary: Display all search results together with context in navigation bar Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: notatru...@wemel.top Description: To find text in a document, currently one has to use the "find bar". The find bar will position the cursor at the first occurrence of the search result. If there are many results, the only way to find the correct one is to look at all results sequentially using "Find Next". There is no way to see all results together for quick browsing. I suggest adding the list of search results together with the line where they occur to the navigation pane so that multiple results can be seen at a glance before selecting the correct one. This improvement will make navigation much quicker and allows to see all lines containing a search term (e.g. TODO) at the same time. Steps to Reproduce: Open new document Enter multiple lines of text : ... insert lots of text and pagebreaks... TODO: do one thing ... insert lots of text and pagebreaks... TODO: do another thing ... insert lots of text and pagebreaks... TODO: do even more Search using find bar "ctrl+F todo" Actual Results: The find bar appears at the bottom of the writer window and the first occurrence of "TODO" is highlighted in the text Expected Results: Show all occurrences of "TODO: in the navigation pane on the side together with the full line that contains the results. Clicking on a result will jump to the occurrence in the document. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Searching a document by jumping through each occurrence is very inefficient and time consuming when there are many hits. Microsoft Word has a navigation pane that shows all of the search results together with the context around them. By clicking on a result one jumps to the position in the document. Here is a picture of the Word navigation pane https://www.dummies.com/wp-content/uploads/493775.image0.jpg https://www.dummies.com/software/microsoft-office/word/how-to-find-text-in-word-2016/ This pane makes searching far more efficient. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124632 Bug ID: 124632 Summary: Pivot table: impossible to undo grouped field filtering Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.6.0.4 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Open attachment 150630 from bug 124629; filter out some of the grouped fields in the pivot table to have the table empty, as shown in attachment 150631 (but do not change layout to bring data back). Try to undo. The pivot table data would re-appear; but trying to use filtering (clicking to drop-down buttons in the grouped fields) does not work; and clicking on the first grouped field button removes all data from the table again. Looks like undo does not restore previous filtering state; it just puts old data into cells, but internally, pivot table still knows to filter everything out, and does that as soon as refresh happens. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124629 Bug ID: 124629 Summary: Filtering a pivot table group field may hide all group fields, including the filtered one Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.6.0.4 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Created attachment 150630 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=150630&action=edit A sample pivot table with multiple group fields Open the attached file, and filter any group field (Years, Quarters, ... , Fix date) to exclude everything but ">25.03.2021" or "<25.03.2019" (">12.10.2022" or "<20.09.2022" for last two groups). When the filtering is confirmed, all the data gets hidden from the table, and the pivot table naturally gets empty; but also all the group fields but the first one get hidden, too. If one had filtered some group field other than the first one, this filtered field would get hidden, too, making it impossible to easily change the filter back. It is currently impossible to use "Undo" to revert the action: while the data gets displayed after Undo, the filter is inaccessible (seems like an unrelated bug); but even if Undo worked, it is not always possible to use it: e.g., pivot table could turn into that state because of pre-existing filtering, which used to provide some data for the table; but after changing data in the source, and refreshing (possibly after saving and reloading), the new source does not provide any data for the table. It's impossible to undo a pivot table refresh; and closing unsaved could loose the work done thus far in this editing session. There is an obscure way to fix the table, though: one needs to change the table layout to make filtered field the first one. The behavior is very inconvenient, and also inconsistent e.g. with Excel, where all the fields are shown even when no data is displayed in the table. This is reproducible since version 3.6 (older versions would crash when filtering attempted). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124628] New: Push Button Event "Approve Action" freezes LibO
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124628 Bug ID: 124628 Summary: Push Button Event "Approve Action" freezes LibO Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jr...@web.de Created attachment 150628 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=150628&action=edit Writer Document with 4 Push Buttons Hello, we had a discussion on a program from me. The discussion took place in the German Mailliglist: http://document-foundation-mail-archive.969070.n3.nabble.com/Versionsabhangiges-Einfrieren-von-LibreOffice-nach-Makrodurchlauf-tp4259306.html First, it turned out that my code was not programmed correctly. After I had this improved, it turned out that there was a problem with the file / Folderpicker. Bug 1a) https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123502 Bug 1b) https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124579 This problem is now fixed thanks to Mike Kaganski in Libo versions 6.3.0.0 (master of 08.04.2019) and 6.2.4. Nevertheless, Libo crashed, or froze under certain conditions. In the search for the problem, I found the following. In the sample document there are four push buttons which react to two different events and start a macro: a) Push button "Approve action" calls up a dialog window via the routine "xStart" b) Push Button "Mouse Button released" starts a file operation via the routine "xCalc" c) Push button "Approve action" opens a dialog window via the routine "xStart" d) Push Button "Mouse Button released" starts a file operation via the routine "xStart" If I use a) Libo freezes as soon as the message box appears after the program has expired. If I use b) everything works fine. If I use c) everything works fine. If I use d) everything works fine. So I'm assuming the event "Approve action" has a problem with calling the Routine „xStart“ which shows the Dialog1. Itinerary: Event "Approve action" → Dialog window → File operation → Messagebox. The moment the final messagebox is displayed, Libo freezes. This was tested with these operating systems and with different Libo-Versions: Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Windows 10 Pro (x64) 1809 In some cases, a) works, provided you switch off the computer and start again. Then a) but at the latest on the second call of the program of a) Libo freezes. Whether this is a new bug or is related to the file / Folderpicker problem, please check. >From my point of view, the problem may also be related to the operating system used, especially since I had no problems with my original code in a Windows 10 Pro 1803 and an earlier Libo version. I think it was Libo 6.0.4.2 or earlier. If I use a) and call only a messagebox, then the program runs perfectly. If you use a) and instead of "StarDesktop.loadComponentFromURL (sURL," _blank ", 0,", uses the File / Folder Picker, Libo freezes too. Whether this problem synonymous with other operating systems occurs I can not say, because in our tests only Win 7 and 10 were used. Note: The „Image Button“ also has the event "Approve action" and has the same problem. I have not tested any other events. We tested with these LibO-Versions, with the same result: 1) LO 6.2.2.2 (x64) @ Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) 2) Version: 6.0.7.3 (x64) LibreOffice 6.1.3.2 / 6.1.4.2 / 6.1.5.2 / 6.2.3.1 / @ Windows 10 3) Version: 6.2.1.2 (x64) Build-ID: 7bcb35dc3024a62dea0caee87020152d1ee96e71 CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: win; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Sprache: de-DE Calc: CL @Windows 10 Pro (x64) 1809 4) Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: f512f8818aec08a5b463c8acdf781e7ab27036f5 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win; TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2019-04-09_03:11:29 Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-US Calc: CL @Windows 10 Pro (x64) 1809 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51132] After one success, PRINTING of #10 ENVELOPES failed to print properly, apparently due to incorrect formatting of the envelope document by the 'Insert Envelope' wizard.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51132 Tracy L. Cann changed: What|Removed |Added Version|3.5.4 release |5.1.6.2 release --- Comment #28 from Tracy L. Cann --- I am trying to print #10 envelopes. When selecting Insert and then Envelope, the format tab shows the format as being for a #10 envelope. It is also selectable to change to other types of envelopes. After either inserting the envelope or creating a "New Document" envelope, then the format changes to the C5 envelope. When trying to print the envelope, it "displays" the envelope as a C5 envelope with those dimensions in the field to the left on the "Print" screen. When you go into "properties", the "paper size field is grayed out and you can't change it to a #10 envelope. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
