https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124784 Bug ID: 124784 Summary: the wording around tools - options - LibreOffice Calc - Formula - Recalculation on File Load is questionable Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: newbie...@gmx.de Description: while discussing https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124669 it came up that the wording around the setting of tools - options - LibreOffice Calc - Formula - Recalculation on File Load is questionable, it announces to work for some special files, but works for others too. this is irritating for users. Winfried Donkers asked me to file new bugs since the original problem is solved, this request is for "- the comment 'odf spreadsheet (not saved with libreoffice)' looks outdated, the setting produces different evaluation of the file even after saving it with a different name from inside calc, thus neither 'excel' nor 'not saved with libreoffice' are matched ... despite that calc does! do a new calculation of the values with this option set, and doesn't if not set. someone should check under which conditions recalc is triggered, check if that's the intended logic, and either correct the handling of files or the comments in the setting dialog." mentioned there. Steps to Reproduce: go to tools - options - LibreOffice Calc - Formula, see the dialog for Recalculation on File Load there, try with the steps of comment 7 of #124669 that the setting does affect files stored with actual calc versions too, Actual Results: the setting works on files stored with fresh versions of LO calc, Expected Results: either the setting to affect only the files specified in the dialog, or the dialog announcing clearly that it will affect 'normal' files too. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: i think the problem is in all versions, the wording in mac and linux versions may be different -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123912] DOCX Text in protected form created in Writer is editable in Word
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123912 --- Comment #13 from Aron Budea --- (In reply to Justin L from comment #8) > (In reply to Aron Budea from comment #1) > Previously it was just all or nothing protection. If we want to support > Word documents with partial protection where some sections are protected and > others are not, then the ALL protection (Protect Forms) needs to be turned > off so that LO native selective protection can be used. I don't think there > are any other options. I see now how this works in Word, thanks for the clarification! Before, I haven't seen that protection can be set per section (I haven't been dealing with such documents), and confused it with the read-only restriction setting's editable regions. I think in Writer we're missing a single convenient place where protection could be set. Something similar to Word's Restrict Editing sidebar would be straightforward (only the part related to filling in forms). It'd make sense if the user didn't have to change the individual sections' protection settings, but could do it with a checklist similar to Word (and the same with the password). What I found convenient in the current Protect Form setting is that as I understand it's supposed to take care of the most common protection setting. In the end I'd expect to have a similar functionality where you switch to form protection, and turn it on. Personally I'd prefer to keep it for the time being as an all/none form protection setting, but when it comes to discussing the topic further, I'd rather think about how to enhance the functionality to take it closer to Word's. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120479 --- Comment #23 from L P Luigi Espenlaub --- It will take some more testing but the answer seems to arrived just in time. LibreOffice 6.2.2.2 is available in the Ubuntu Software Store, Updated 04/17/2019 as a snap. ** For some reason, I had to uninstall my 6.1 completely for the 6.2.2.2 snap to successfully install.** Note: if you have any special dictionaries or templates it will be easier add them to any upgrade by copying them to a folder for each in the home directory. Then add paths to them in options > paths after the new install] My first test was to try Help > LibreOffice Help F-1 which crashed in 6.1 every time then proceeded to crash while submitting the crash report. Result: No crash, and local help loaded. It will be a couple of days before I will know if this fixes the un-predictable crashes I have been experiencing in this module. Thanks for the 6.1 snap hint. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124776] New: Running soffice.exe with a relative path from Command Prompt doesn't work
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124776 Bug ID: 124776 Summary: Running soffice.exe with a relative path from Command Prompt doesn't work Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: t...@iki.fi Description: Try to run soffice.exe from Command Prompt (this is specific to Windows, obviously) using instdir\program\soffice.exe. The soffice.exe and soffice.bin processes run for a short while but exit then without doing anything. Using an absolute pathname C:\where\ever\instdir\program\soffice.exe works. Not sure how long this has been broken. But surely the intent is that using just instdir\program\soffice.exe should work? (Like it does when run from a Cygwin shell in mintty, and on Linux.) The problem seems to be that getIniFileName_Impl() in sal/rtl/bootstrap.cxx does not return a file: URL but a relative pathname, huh. And that is because osl_getExecutableFile() does not return an absolute filename, but what happens to be in argv[0]. Surely we should use some other way to find out the executable's pathname and not rely on what happens to be in argv[0] (Also, sal_detail_initialize() takes a plain char argv, not a wchar_t one, and thus is fairly broken already when LibreOffice is installed in a pathname that isn't expressible in the system codepage. We should use GetModulePathNameW(NULL,...). Steps to Reproduce: . Actual Results: . Expected Results: . Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
