[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124784] New: the wording around tools - options - LibreOffice Calc - Formula - Recalculation on File Load is questionable

2019-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124784

Bug ID: 124784
Summary: the wording around tools - options - LibreOffice Calc
- Formula - Recalculation on File Load is questionable
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: newbie...@gmx.de

Description:
while discussing https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124669 it
came up that the wording around the setting of tools - options - LibreOffice
Calc - Formula - Recalculation on File Load is questionable, it announces to
work for some special files, but works for others too.

this is irritating for users.

Winfried Donkers asked me to file new bugs since the original problem is
solved,

this request is for "- the comment 'odf spreadsheet (not saved with
libreoffice)' looks outdated, the setting produces different evaluation of the
file even after saving it with a different name from inside calc, thus neither
'excel' nor 'not saved with libreoffice' are matched ... despite that calc
does! do a new calculation of the values with this option set, and doesn't if
not set. someone should check under which conditions recalc is triggered, check
if that's the intended logic, and either correct the handling of files or the
comments in the setting dialog." mentioned there.

Steps to Reproduce:
go to tools - options - LibreOffice Calc - Formula, see the dialog for
Recalculation on File Load there, try with the steps of comment 7 of #124669
that the setting does affect files stored with actual calc versions too,

Actual Results:
the setting works on files stored with fresh versions of LO calc,

Expected Results:
either the setting to affect only the files specified in the dialog, or the
dialog announcing clearly that it will affect 'normal' files too.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
i think the problem is in all versions, the wording in mac and linux versions
may be different

After reroducing on impress, i figured you can delete by right clicking on the

easier way is to cut it.
I reproduced your attached document by deleting the table in it with the

  Hardware: All

  Reporter: newbie...@gmx.de

Description:
while discussing https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124669 it
come up that it's possible to have values stored in a file which do not match
with the result of the formula in the cell by saving a file with data -
calculate - autocalculate: off.

this is a correct behaviour of the program, but may cause errors at least when
users have to work with files created and stored by other persons.

it would be nice to have any, some or all of:

- a warning when opening a file where autocalculate is off,

- a clear visible sign somewhere in the status- or toolbar 'autocalculate is
off',

- a warning when a file contains values which deviate from the result of the
formula in that cell,

- a 'flag' on each cell where the shown value deviates from the result of the
formula in that cell,

Winfried Donkers asked me to file new bugs since the original problem is
solved,

this request is for '- it would be nice to have a warning towards the user
whenever (s)he's dealing with files that contain deviations between formula and
formerly stored values' mentioned there.

Steps to Reproduce:
follow the steps in #124669 comment 7 to produce a file with a value having a
'false result' in a cell.

Actual Results:
no hint to the user

Expected Results:
anything warning the user or helping him to understand the situation,
(otherwise he might ask 'silly questions' in 'ask' or 'bugs').

Reproducible: Always

I see now how this works in Word, thanks for the clarification! Before, I
haven't seen that protection can be set per section (I haven't been dealing
with such documents), and confused it with the read-only restriction setting's
editable regions.

I think in Writer we're missing a single convenient place where protection
could be set. Something similar to Word's Restrict Editing sidebar would be
straightforward (only the part related to filling in forms). It'd make sense if
the user didn't have to change the individual sections' protection settings,
but could do it with a checklist similar to Word (and the same with the
password).

What I found convenient in the current Protect Form setting is that as I
understand it's supposed to take care of the most common protection setting. In
the end I'd expect to have a similar functionality where you switch to form
protection, and turn it on. Personally I'd prefer to keep it for the time being
as an all/none form protection setting, but when it comes to discussing the
topic further, I'd rather think about how to enhance the functionality to take
it closer to Word's.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120479] Crash in: libc-2.27.so

2019-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120479

It will take some more testing but the answer seems to arrived just in time.
LibreOffice 6.2.2.2 is available in the Ubuntu Software Store,

Updated 04/17/2019 as a snap.

** For some reason, I had to uninstall my 6.1 completely for the 6.2.2.2 snap
to successfully install.**

Note: if you have any special dictionaries or templates it will be easier add
them to any upgrade by copying them to a folder for each in the home directory.
Then add paths to them in options > paths after the new install]

My first test was to try Help > LibreOffice Help F-1 which crashed in 6.1 every
time then proceeded to crash while submitting the crash report.

Result: No crash, and local help loaded.

It will be a couple of days before I will know if this fixes the un-predictable
crashes I have been experiencing in this module.

Thanks for the 6.1 snap hint. Couldn't find it, then this updated snap just
appeared.

Here's hoping!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71954] EDITING: drag and drop text into database form fields will not get stored

2019-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71954

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.

You need to leave the cube-3D scene to be able to select the 'ghost' shape.

The error is, that the shape, which you have cut, is inserted twice, into the
cube scene and a second time at it previous place. The undo-stack has two
'insert' items.

Screenshot of the tooltip described in the original report

Hmm, it seems my original report was not clear enough. Attached is a
screenshot of the problem I was describing - mnemonic letter in the tooltip.
The "打开" part is the Chinese translation of "Open", the "(O)" is what I was
complaining about, and the final "(Ctrl+O)" is the keyboard shortcut that I
have no problem with.

There was no confusion between the mnemonics and the shortcuts.

Thanks for looking into this report.

Bug ID: 124782
Summary: Display problem in UI: data entry form for Spreadsheet
(debian gnome)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: makaya...@gmail.com

Description:
If i have a spreadsheet with more than 17 columns, I can't use Data Entry Form
to fill datas beacause I can't access fields 18 and after.

Scrolldown is used by "Go to Next Entry", and when I use Tab, next fields are
selected and I can modify them but display does not refresh so I could see them
actually on screen.

My H-resolution is 1366 px.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On debian 9 with gnome 3.22.3 install libreoffice libreoffice-gnome
libreoffice-gtk3 from Debian Stable rep or from Flathub (6.2.2)
2. Set height screen resolution at 1366 or less
2. Create a spreadsheet with 20 columns or more
3. Go to Data > Form and try to edit last fields

Actual Results:
you can't see fields 18-20, but you can access and edit them with TAB

Expected Results:
we would have a way to scroll down to see last fields. A second scroll bar ?
just refresh display when using tab ?

Reproducible: Always

Bug ID: 124781
Summary: Formatting issue in PPTX exported presentation
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cp...@gmx.de

Description:
1. The superscripted "th" in the Title 25th April shows up wrong in PowerPoint
2. The distance from the bullet marker to the text is too large in Power point
for the auto-sized bullets
3. Also in the exported version a copyright text shows up in the upper right
corner that does not show up in the ODP original
4. MS Power Point complains that it needs to repair the file when opening.

Note: At some point this Document was imported from PowerPoint, perhaps some
bad data structures are inherited from that time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the Testcase ODP file
2. Save is as PowerPoint PPTX
3. Open the PPTX in MS power Point and see the described discrepancies

Actual Results:
See description

Expected Results:
Either the same data should show up in LO or it should not show up in the
export PPTX as well.
Also the distance of the text to the bullet points should be consistent.
The superscripted "th" should be consistent.

Reproducible: Always

Likely regression after
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/515d2579d305a6127c6c194319a58eac62437e33 -
where possibly I actually enabled the calls to SetDllDirectoryW and
SetSearchPathMode, which task is to exclude some paths (including current
directory) from search; possibly they weren't called in old code for some
reason (located in a different library in newer Windows?).

Clarification for the "steps to reproduce": It is not a "double-tap", but a
regular "two-finger-tap" (not double, just once), as introduced in the bug

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124777] New: iPad iOS 12 Trackpad Feature

2019-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124777

Bug ID: 124777
Summary: iPad iOS 12 Trackpad Feature
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: iOS
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: iOS
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andreas.gruh...@adfinis-sygroup.ch

Description:
Hi,

I was made aware that there exists a "trackpad feature" since iOS 12 [1]. You
can either do a two-finger-tap on the iPad on-screen keyboard or a long-press
on the space bar. Afterwards, the on-screen keyboard serves as a trackpad to
move the cursor in the text. However, this behavior cannot be
reproduced/triggered on latest Collabora iOS-App [2] (and browser Version [3],
Collabora Online).

Thanks,
Andreas

Attachments:
[2] Collabora-App-iPad-iOS12-trackpad.jpeg
[3] Collabora-Online-iPad-iOS12-trackpad.jpeg

Steps to Reproduce:
1. double-tap the on-screen iPad keyboard
2. move your fingers to move the cursor

Actual Results:
1. the trackpad appears and the on-screen keyboard fades out
2. the cursor is fixed and cannot be moved

Expected Results:
1. the trackpad appears and the on-screen keyboard fades out
2. the cursor can be moved within the text

Reproducible: Always

The code in osl_createCommandArgs_Impl() looks like it would be doing the right
thing, even uses CommandLineToArgvW( GetCommandLineW(), &nArgs ), and has the
comment /* Replace argv[0] with its absolute path */

But that gets used only if osl_setCommandArgs() is called with a zero argc. And
we apparently call osl_setCommandArgs() with whatever happens to be in the args
and argv passed to main(). I think we shold always ignore any argc and argv
passed to main() and just let that osl_createCommandArgs_Impl() do its job.

Or is there some detail I am missing?

I'm not seeing the residues anymore. On the other hand, new interesting issues
have come up. I will report them after further testing with newest builds.

1. On Linux, most of the comments display only partly or not at all
2. On both Win & Linux, View - Comments causes a crash

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124776] New: Running soffice.exe with a relative path from Command Prompt doesn't work

2019-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124776

Bug ID: 124776
Summary: Running soffice.exe with a relative path from Command
Prompt doesn't work
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@iki.fi

Description:
Try to run soffice.exe from Command Prompt (this is specific to Windows,
obviously) using instdir\program\soffice.exe. The soffice.exe and soffice.bin
processes run for a short while but exit then without doing anything.

Using an absolute pathname C:\where\ever\instdir\program\soffice.exe works.

Not sure how long this has been broken. But surely the intent is that using
just instdir\program\soffice.exe should work? (Like it does when run from a
Cygwin shell in mintty, and on Linux.)

The problem seems to be that getIniFileName_Impl() in sal/rtl/bootstrap.cxx
does not return a file: URL but a relative pathname, huh.

And that is because osl_getExecutableFile() does not return an absolute
filename, but what happens to be in argv[0]. Surely we should use some other
way to find out the executable's pathname and not rely on what happens to be in
argv[0] (Also, sal_detail_initialize() takes a plain char argv, not a wchar_t
one, and thus is fairly broken already when LibreOffice is installed in a
pathname that isn't expressible in the system codepage. We should use
GetModulePathNameW(NULL,...).

Expected Results:

Reproducible: Always
