[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125017] New: Enhancement: Increase Precision of Position and Size

2019-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125017

Bug ID: 125017
Summary: Enhancement: Increase Precision of Position and Size
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ssuffic...@gmail.com

Currently, you are only able to specify 3 digits of precision in an object
position and size. It would be nice to have this increased to include more
digits of precision.

Long story: I am attempting to use Draw for simple room layouts. Due to the
limitation in page size and maximum number of inches, I have to shift decimal
places to scale down to the page size. This works for rough measures, but when
I need fractions, the decimal shift causes loss of precision.

I see 3 possible solutions here, there may be others. 1: Increase decimal
precision. 2: Allow much larger page sizes. 3: Allow the user to specify page
units of measure (inch, feet, etc) and scale.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124939] editing cell does not follow edit line

2019-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=124939

This bug is tricky.

1: select A3
2: click before A on InputLine, in Overwrite mode (Note); cell A3 goes into
edit mode, with cell A1 highlighted;
3: hit key b: A is replaced with b in editLine, but not in cell A3: '=bA1'.
Bad.
However, if the initial mode is Insert in step 2 when editing begins
(Note), hit Ins to set mode to Overwrite; now, highlighting of cell A1
disappears, and step 3 gives the correct result: '=b1'.
Note: The initial mode is important: hit Esc to end editing, then click
the editLine for a 'fresh' edit in the last mode (Insert or Overwrite), which
is now the initial mode.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 124995] Insert > Data Labels opens wrong dialog for all data series (as opposed to individual data series)

2019-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

No. The same dialog should open whether it is for an individual data series or
all data series.

As it is now, only the Data Labels page appears for all data series. By
contrast, for individual data series, there are also pages for Borders, Font,
Font Effects, and potentially Asian Typography.

I can think of no reason why it should not be possible to have access to all of
the options so that all data series can be formatted at the same time.

The language describing this can be a bit confusing so I hope I am being clear.

that's the problem Marketing promote Notebookbar but nobody can choose
notebookbar anywhere. But you are true, it's not self-explanatory.

I've just found that the problem goes away if I uninstall the offline helppack.

Version 6.0.7 has no delay with the helppack installed. Hence the helppack
after v6.0.7, or LibreOffice's interaction with the helppack causes the
performance hit.

To be clear: This is about the "Duplicate"-dialog in menu "Shape".
I can confirm the problem. It is connected to the scaling factor 1:30, with
scaling 1:1 the dialog works.

I see the error in Version: 6.2.2.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2b840030fec2aae0fd2658d8d4f9548af4e3518d
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;

CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;

So set keyword 'regression'.

To workaround the problem, you can use a portable version from the 6.1 series.

Hello Xisco,

I have had a look at the builds but they aren't for Arch Linux. I had a shot at
extracting the .debs and running the result but that would not fly due to a
missing library or other, well, that was to be expected.

I'll have to figure out how to build the LibreOffice trunk, for which I'll have
to modify the Arch build script from here:

I have upgraded to version 6.2 using the official PPA, and it is a lot faster
now (now files open in 2-3 seconds, Flatpak version of 6.2 was slower).
It seems that quickstarter is not much required anymore. I understand why the
change was initiated.

2019-04-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 125010
Summary: Bundled templates are not ODF valid: mimetype must not
be compressed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jumbo4...@yahoo.fr

Description: Writer and Impress bundled Templates are now built from XML code.
See https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/58787/ for Writer and
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/47221/ for Impress. However these templates do
not pass ODF validation test https://odfvalidator.org/ as mimetype files are
compressed with other files

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to https://odfvalidator.org/
2. Select ODF Version = OASIS ODF 1.2 (extended conforming)
3. Browse to instdir/share/template/common/offimisc/Businesscard-with-logo.ott
for instance
4. Click Validate

Expected result:
The green message "The document is extended conformant ODF1.2!" must appear

Actual result:
Red message: "The document is NOT extended conformant ODF1.2!"
Businesscard-with-logo.ott/mimetype: Error: The file 'mimetype' shall not be
compressed in the ODF package 'Businesscard-with-logo.ott'!

Same apply to all Writer and Impress templates.

I can't confirm that. I don't understand, why you insert '2' on the second
page. You just have to choose Insert => Pagenumber

Perhaps you could attach a document that shows the problem (only a document
with some blak pages and the pagenumbers)

when you'd like to compress graphics in LibreOffice with the command
CompressGraphic the default settings make the image blured.

In addition the jpeg compression is in impress when you use shrink presentation
80 (optimized for print) and in CompressGraphic 90, should be the same.

Could anyone check me back, whether under KDE don't appear Old Hungarian
letters during typing, just make tofus?
There is an useable font:
https://github.com/googlefonts/noto-fonts/tree/master/phaseIII_only/unhinted/ttf/NotoSansOldHungarian

Old Hungarian layout defined in xkeyboard-config 2.22, within the extras.

There is a document, which describe Old Hungarian script (U10c80-U10cff) is an
RTL script:

Thanks:
Viktor
