[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 38159] Better full text justification with auto character scaling and paragraph level adjustment
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38159 --- Comment #28 from Laurie --- I also am adding a comment to bump this issue up. I have been finding that not having -- what I think is called "full justification", that is; justification without large spaces between words -- is a significant weakness in Writer. I don't know if it rises to the level of a "bug" or, rather, if it is more of an "enhancement" but, in any case, I think it is, as this thread shows, a long-overdue update. Unfortunately, I do not know how to work with code (I can barely understand much of this thread), so I am not able to propose a solution. Otherwise, I would be happy to put in the time and effort to understand the technical issues and work on a solution! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113138] FILESAVE general input/output error on save, files truncated
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113138 --- Comment #12 from Saskia S --- Similar, but not quite identical situation here: LO 6.2.5.2 on Arch Linux running Linux 5.2.6 kernel; in my case the error was clearly linked to saving a relatively large (340 KiB) .docx file into Dropbox and then attempting to save again (regardless of save destination). Very small files appear unaffected; I tested this by creating a new .docx file, saving to Dropbox, adding more text and saving again (with no error). This seems to implicate Dropbox as doing *something* with the file that causes LO to consider it corrupt/otherwise unsaveable in this case; could it be that in the original filer's case, the network drive management software or in the last two reports, something else running is altering the files whilst LO still has them open? https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/134688/general-inputoutput-error-keeps-destroying-my-work/ This describes a set of similar issues. https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/134688/general-inputoutput-error-keeps-destroying-my-work/?answer=168551#post-id-168551 This comment in particular seems to come to the same conclusions as me with regards to Dropbox. One very simplistic workaround that seems to work just fine is to copy the entire contents of the affected document into a new file (via creating a new, empty document in LO) and then saving it in a different location. I'm unsure if this helps with the version in which the bug takes place while saving locally, but it might be worth a try. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 126757] New: Keyboard shortcuts in Calc context menus not discoverable
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126757 Bug ID: 126757 Summary: Keyboard shortcuts in Calc context menus not discoverable Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rscra...@gmail.com Description: Under some circumstances, the keyboard shortcuts for interacting with context menus are underlined, and in some circumstances they are not. For instance, I often want to insert a column to the left of a selected column, and it is hard to discover that to do this from the context menu, I hit L. If displaying the hotkeys were easy, not always displaying them might be acceptable (although probably pointless) because they are mostly useful when memorized, but it is even hard to figure out how to display them. System: Ubuntu 18.04 LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 (in Ubuntu 18.04 repository) Bug shows up in both Calc and Writer Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Calc. 2. Right click or two-finger tap on a column header to bring up the context menu for the column. None of the letters in any of the commands will be underlined. (Alternatively, open Writer and right click on the page to bring up a context menu.) 3. Move the cursor. None of the letters will be underlined. 4. Hit Alt. Still, none of the letters in any of the commands will be underlined. 5. Move the cursor. Letters for keyboard shortcuts will become underlined. Actual Results: Underlined keyboard shortcuts only show up after pressing Alt and subsequently moving the cursor. Expected Results: The expected behavior is that L in "Insert Columns Left" will be underlined immediately when the context menu opens. It should at least be underlined after hitting Alt (although aesthetics seems like a flimsy reason to not have them always underlined). There is really no reason why the keyboard shortcuts should only show up after hitting Alt AND moving the cursor. If I am moving the cursor, then it is too late for a keyboard shortcut to be helpful. None of the default options are shown as active when you go to character formatting → Font tab → Font Features dialog, which can be misleading for people not used to this technology. As you can see in the attached screenshot, none of the several predefined OpenType options of EBGaramond 12 (liga, onum, kern, clig) are shown as used even if they are set as "on by default" for that font. Hence, the enhancement request: show in the font feature dialog which of the available options are active by default. This could also help users that, for any reason, want to disable any default option for the font. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126754 Bug ID: 126754 Summary: Wrong OpenType tag for fractions in "font properties" dialog Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.3.0.4 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rgb.m...@gmail.com Created attachment 153209 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=153209=edit Font features menu OpenType defines two kinds of fractions, the "diagonal" fraction with the +frac tag and the "nut" fraction with the tag +afrc Character → Font tab → Features, LibreOffice offers "frac=1" for diagonal fractions and "frac=2" for nut fractions, which is wrong: those are Graphite tags, not OpenType tags, and they are valid only for Linux Libertine G and Linux Biolinum G fonts (Graphite tags are not standardized). Because of their similarity, LibreOffice understand both, "frac=1" and "frac=2" as just "frac" which apply the diagonal OpenType fraction. This wrong preset also generates problems with font preview when using some fonts, because on 6.3 the "frac=1" is applied even if not explicitly selected by the user, as you can see in the attached screenshot. For the screenshot I'm using a font called Sukhumala that offer both, diagonal and (some) nut fractions: http://www.softerviews.org/Fonts.html#Sukhumala Clearly, "frac=2" does not work to get nut fractions with Sukhumala, but "afrc" does. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
