I just regognized, that I can't reproduce creating a new list in the way
Idescribed in comment one in

Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha1 (x64)
Build ID: cc57df8f942f239d29cb575ea5a7cb01405db787
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18362; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

but it is possible in

Version: 6.3.3.1 (x64)
Build-ID: f41f4c7f9507aeca13cb9df51f34d80e8ba30a99
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: win;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); UI-Sprache: de-DE
Calc: threaded

I don't know, if this is a desired change or not. I think there should be a
possibility to restart numbering in an easy way.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128408] New: Impress Master Slide issue

2019-10-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128408

Bug ID: 128408
   Summary: Impress Master Slide issue
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ambi...@gmail.com

Description:
This might not be a bug exactly, but certainly hits performance and bugs use of
Impress while createing slides.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. USing master slide to change background. Once a new color is selected in
order to change the colors of all the pre-existing slides.
2. The colors change but as a new slide is added then the old color comes back
into all slides.
3. So I have to modify the color again every time a new slide is added. This is
really a problematic thing.

Actual Results:
The old color scheme comes back and its needs to be changed for new color every
time new slide is added.

Expected Results:
The master slide must behave in master manner. Once change is made to
background color then it must stay there.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

+1 Went searching and was disappointed to see this isn't yet implemented

I'm forced to continue using other software instead of switching to LibreOffice
because of it.

Dear Patrick Jaap,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Dear Harald Koester,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

I recently installed Ubuntu 18.04 onto a laptop and immediately put LibreOffice
6.3.1 onto it. I've had problems ever since!

If LibreOffice is open, my computer feels laggy.
LibreOffice Writer is EXTREMELY laggy on some very large documents with mixed
English and Arabic--but mostly just when looking at certain pages--other pages
are much better.

LibreOffice Calc also had major issues: in one finance document I have which
was converted from an Excel document a while back, I have some macros and
macro-linked buttons. They've never worked since moving to LibreOffice but
that's ok.
***When opening up the document, however, on this computer, those buttons would
vibrate continually (note that they slightly overlap so it's almost like an
algorithms is trying to fix them) and the document is COMPLETELY UNUSABLE. I
could click around cells and the formula box would update with that cell's
contents, but the cell would not be highlighted.

I finally downgraded to LibreOffice 6.2.8 and now both the Writer and the Calc
issue are fixed and everything works just fine!

My system is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Here's the 3 LibreOffice versions tested:

Versions Tested:
--
LibreOffice_6.3.1_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz [previous latest] - BUG, tested
20191026
LibreOffice_6.3.2_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz [latest] - BUG,
tested 20191026
LibreOffice_6.2.8_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz [stable] - WORKS
FINE! Tested 20191026

Here's an example of how I've been uninstalling and installing versions:

To uninstall old version:
- from a NON-libreoffice installation directory (ex: from home dir):
sudo apt remove libreoffice6.3*
To install new version:
- manually extract (right click file --> Exract here), then:
cd into LibreOffice_6.3.2.2_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS dir, then:
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Steps to Reproduce:
TODO: these are personal documents I cannot share, so if able I'll try to get a
document with the problems which does not have personal info.

1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Editing in Calc is impossible: vibrating macro buttons and no cells can be
properly selected.

Editing in Writer on *some pages* is virtually impossible: it is missing
keystrokes like crazy and there is a 1~5 second lag between each character I
enter.

Expected Results:
I should be able to edit any cells in Calc.
The macro buttons should sit still, not vibrate up and down rapidly a few
pixels at a time.

I should be able to type at a normal speed in Writer.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The bug was introduced into LibreOffice between version 6.2.8 and version
6.3.1, as 6.3.1 and 6.3.2 are unusable for me, and 6.2.8 so far works
perfectly!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128405] New: Style formatting and management - bullet and number lists continue to stay applied even changing style to a paragraph

2019-10-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128405

Bug ID: 128405
Summary: Style formatting and management - bullet and number
lists continue to stay applied even changing style to
a paragraph
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zion...@gmail.com

Description:
If I set a style with a bulleted or numbered list and a certain point I want to
apply another style to the same paragraph that doesn't have numbers or bullets,
let's say a normal text paragraph or anything else, the number or the bullet
continues to show and it isn't removed. And there is noway to remove the
number/bullet style. I have to remove by hands the number or copy and past the
text as text only into a new paragraph of the targeted style.

Please correct that issue and make LibreOffice Writer to be able to modify the
style on a click because if I have to set manually each parameter that isn't
applied accordingly with the style there is no point to have styles at all.

Thank you so much.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new doc and write some paragraph of text in it
2.apply a text only style than apply a bulleted or numbered style
3.than apply again the previous style

Actual Results:
The numbered or bulleted list still remains even if I have applied the original
style

Expected Results:
the formatting must be overwritten by the last style applied to the paragraph

M;S Word works better because if I apply any style a can overwrite any
formatting of it just by applying another style, If I have to rearrange every
time the formatting of the paragraph there is no point to have styles at all.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I have downloaded Writer few days ago and I didn't "options" customization. So
it is used more or less with default "options" settings

Need to point out that on Windows 10, with Intel HD graphics 620 and current

Not happening with just the 'Fade' transition--so this is not the issue of bug

Same error with 3.6.7.2. Tried it since LibreOffice 3 is the earliest in the

MacOS 10.14.6. Since LibreOffice runs on Linux and MacOS without WINE, I can
understand if compatibility with WINE hasn't been a priority.

Same error occurs in 6.3.2 for Windows 32. "View Last Run Log Files" also
fails, so not sure what went wrong.

Trying again with 6.2.8 for Windows 32. "View Last Run Log Files" shows the

WinDbg 64 backtrace OpenGL crash with project symbols and git clone of source

(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #18)
OK thanks. For now I've done a git clone (using the https://gitforwindows.org/
port), just making a symbolic link to the source now held locally setting the
link name so it will match the build path of the TDF build of 6.3.2.2:

c:\cygwin64\home\buildslave\source\libo-core

Win OpenGL rendering enabled, selecting the "Fade" transition for a slide.
Reproduce the crash. Attaching the WinDbg64 crash dump with symbols and now
source

After detaching from WinDbg64 the posted Breakpad crashreport is:
crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/ef6bb683-8cf6-4e47-8735-5f9bf266972f

Of course no symbols or source for the Intel OpenGL device driver (ig9icd64)
thread.

Rather fix it than document it. While hard > conditional > style is logical
also to me (but only implemented for number formats), it seems not to be what
is expected. See duplicate of.

So the only solution for consistency seems to be to effectively revert the fix
for 93300 and have all conditional formatting take precedence. This might be
what the majority expects, taking duplicates of see-also-bugs and Excel
behaviour into account.

Looking at related code (sc/source/core/data/patattr.cxx
ScPatternAttr::GetFont() (and ScPatternAttr::FillToEditItemSet())) it seems to
be on purpose that conditional formatting takes precedence over hard
attribution. As a user I would expect exactly the opposite though, because as
is there is no way to override formatting for some cells in a range of
conditionally formatted cells.

But also Excel lets conditional formatting take precedence over hard
attribution, citing from
https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Manage-conditional-formatting-rule-precedence-E09711A3-48DF-4BCB-B82C-9D8B8B22463D

"What happens when a conditional format and a manual format conflict?
For a range of cells, if a formatting rule is evaluated as True, it takes
precedence over an existing manual format."

Hence, changing the current behaviour is not a good idea.
We should rather re-evaluate if the number format of a conditional format
shouldn't also take precedence over a manual/hard number format.

What does Excel do for number formats there? I guess the same, no exception.

> or Horizontal text runs) in OOXML.

I think, they do it correctly. OOXML has the script depending vertical modes
vert="eaVert" (e.g. Japanese) and vert="mongolianVert". Latin characters are
90° rotated, whereas CJK characters stay upright. The difference is, that next
lines go from right to left in "eaVert" and from left to right in
"mongolianVert".

And OOXML has the script independent, pure geometrical vertical modes
vert="vert" and vert="vert270". They rotate _all_ characters 90°, clockwise or
counter clockwise respectively.

The attribute 'vert' belongs to element 'bodyPr' which is a child element of
shapes. The description is in 20.1.10.83 ST_TextVerticalType (Vertical Text
Types) in the standard ISO/IEC 29500-1:2016.

This bug report is not about the OOXML attribute 'textDirection' (in
17.3.1.41), which can be used in paragraph properties for example, and where
the unicode algorithm has to be used.

Was looking for better details, and not surprised if we don't handle vertical
text runs correctly in Draw text boxes, but his gem from the Unicode folks was
pretty informative as to how to think of this and what we may need to
implement:

https://unicode.org/notes/tn22/RobustVerticalLayout.pdf

and, not clear that Microsoft actually defines this correctly (for Vertical or
Horizontal text runs) in OOXML.

I'll be honest, it's far more cumbersome to build on Windows than on Linux.
When installing all prerequisites, you can see building has been thought above
all for Linux users (I won't complain, I use Linux at home :-)).
However, it's simpler than some years ago when I had given up.
The things I don't like:
- windbg: you find far less doc to debug than for gdb, putting a break at a
specific line isn't intuitive, values of vars are often pointer values not
useful values, !analyze -v provide less info than gdb's "bt", etc.
- build fail after some updates so sometimes you must type "make .clean". You don't need to do this on Linux or very rarely!
and when you don't know which module fail, you must build from scratch with
"make clean && make"

Anyway, the advantage is you can add logs by putting std::cerr << "
\n"; (with #include ) and display values of vars, you can test some
patches proposed by devs, you can disable some blocks, etc.
Now if you're not a programmer, perhaps it won't worth it for you. You decide!
:-)

Maybe, but isn't infra's Jenkins TB77 now spinning out debug builds for 64-bit

Nope! Just checked its not:

50checking whether to build with additional debug utilities... no
51checking whether to do a debug build... no

=-=-=

Working with WinDbg linked with the 64-bit symbols from:

SRV*http://dev-downloads.libreoffice.org/symstore/symbols
SRV*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols

I have configured Linux VMs and with git compiled builds over the years, but
always reluctant actually build Windows binaries from source. With project
symbols, the TB daily seemed enough to not need to get things cobbled together
to build on Winodws--I have access to the tools, just not in my skill set to
build.

Always assumed the only thing I can't do is add additional asserts or
break-points. Would my WinDbg backtraces for an issue improve much beyond
attachment 155199 or attachment 155200 if I figure out how to clone the git and
link to source?

and if I make FF to fullscreeen (when top menu and dock are hidden) and then
move mouse point to end of screeen, then I see the dock, start LO by icon on
dock and LO opens on top too (but I saw moving of the screen between different
work places)

1. Open Firefox
2. Press LO icon on dock bar
3. LO starts on top
