This patch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/82672/ and that one
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/82750/ should solve the problem for 6.3
(Xisco, do I have to cherry-pick for 6.4 as well?)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113776] Hierarchical numerbing of objects (e.g. tables, figures) is not saved properly to DOC or DOCX format

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113776

Reproducible with LO 6.3.3.2

Details:

Tested with attachment 137569

When saved as doc or docx, hierarchical number (1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2) is opened
as consecutive numbering (1, 2, 3, 4). In LO Writer, this is shown right away,
in MS Word it appears right, but only until field update (e.g. after clicking
"Print").

The "Above/below" reference gives an error as DOCX. Opening the DOC version in
my local (Danish) MS Word gives the local language version of "below"
("nedenfor"), even though the language text is English.

Version: 6.3.3.2 (x64)
Build ID: a64200df03143b798afd1ec74a12ab50359878ed
CPU tråde: 4; Styresystem: Windows 10.0; Gengiver af brugergrænseflade: GL;

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128813] New: inconsistent placement of drawing object from docx

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128813

Bug ID: 128813
Summary: inconsistent placement of drawing object from docx
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@member.fsf.org

Description:
Opening a document created with MSO Word shows a "drawing object" at the wrong
location, and its "arrangement" is incoherent.

Using the Navigator to find it shows that it is saved as a drawing object, and
can reveal its position, seemingly hidden behind a table.
Trying to reveal the picture by changing its position relative to other objects
doesn't work when clicking "Bring to front", but does work with "Send to back"
– the opposite of what is expected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attached "created_in_MSO.docx" file: the bottle is not visible
2. Export as a PDF: the bottle is visible, but misplaced over the green table.

Actual Results:
The picture of a clear glass bottle is nowhere to be seen in LO Writer (see
LO_Writer_6.3.3.2_editing.png attachment).

When using the Navigator, we find that the picture is actually listed under
"Drawing objects" instead of "Images" – possibly because it was rotated in MSO?
Highlighting the drawing object does show the position of it on the page: it
seems to be behind the green table.

Using the "Bring to font" button does not reveal it. However, very
unexpectedly, using the "Send to back" button does show the picture!
It seems that the only ways to see the picture are:
- sending the object to the background, or;
- sending it to the back of the foreground.

Printing or exporting as a PDF will show the picture in the exported document
(see LO_Writer_6.3.3.2_export.pdf attachment), but at a the same inaccurate
position.

Expected Results:
The bottle should be positioned at the same spot as when opening the file with
Microsoft Office, and be visible just like the other pictures.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Not sure what version of MSO was used to create this document, but MSO 2016 was
used to open the docx and see the original layout.

The issue was exactly the same in both LO:

Version: 6.2.8.2 (x64)

Locale: en-AU (en_AU); UI-Language: en-US

... and LO:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44462] Provide a proper 'File Association Manager' for the windows version of Libreoffice

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44462

Current LibreOffice versions run on Windows 7 SP1 and later.

The recommended way to deal with application file associations is described by
MS in [1]; and noteworthy are the following bits:
1.
> Important
>
> This topic does not apply for Windows 10. The way that default file
> associations work changed in Windows 10
2.
> Note
>
> We recommend you call the Set associations for a program by using
> IApplicationAssociationRegistrationUI::LaunchAdvancedAssociationUI.
3. At the page mentioned in #2 [2]:
> Remarks
>
> Starting in Windows 10, this does not launch the association dialog box.
> It displays a dialog to the user informing them that they can change the
> default programs used to open file extensions in their Settings

It's obvious that Windows is deprecating and making dysfunctional even the
means to open its own tools to manage file associations from applications (and
indeed, trying to click "Default Programs..." button in Options in MS Word 2016
on Windows 10 brings that "To change your default apps, go to ..." banner) [3].

As shown in the discussion of the answers at [4], every method proposed to
workaround that, gets broken in a subsequent Windows update; so trying to
implement such functionality is apparently working against the system.

I propose to close this as WONTFIX for the mentioned reasons.

Many thanks. Couldn't find any useful documentation on the HTML filter options,
so tried hacking a filter based on the CSV one, the info required by the HTML
import dialog, and the limited info in the docs linked in Comment 49, and
stopped when I found a formula that worked. Good to have a properly constructed
one.

Dear Milan Bouchet-Valat,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

1. Input two or three words in one cell;
2. Right click the cell and select Format Cells;
3. Select Distributed under the Horizontal;

Actual Results:
Nothing changed, the words still aligned left, not aligned across the whole
cell.

Expected Results:
The words in the cell aligned across the whole cell.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99847] "ENTER" from last page-row of a 3-column table -> cursor halfway down next page

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99847

I just downloaded the current daily AppImage

(LibreOfficeDev-6.4.0.0.alpha1_2019-11-01-x86_64.AppImage),

and the bug is almost identical.

Remember, when at the end of characters on page 48, and pressing three
times, I said the text in page 48's third column jumped up, then down, then the
cursor went to somewhere about 1/2 way down in the next page's 3rd column.

Now, when first clicking below/beyond the text in the third column, the text in
the column jumps down. Then, (for the three s) it jumps up, jumps up
and then goes to the same place on the next page. (The second results
in a jump up, not down).

(Also, on the third , the third-column text "judders", as if it would
like to jump up again, but the top row is already at the top of the column, and
therefore cannot go anywhere.)

[If this description is causing too much confusion, I could try to Simple
Screen Recorder a video showing it, but I am not sure how large a file I can
upload here...
Let me know...]

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128810] New: Adding Character Styles to Impress

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128810

Bug ID: 128810
Summary: Adding Character Styles to Impress
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cson...@halmai.hu

Description:
I would like to have Character Styles in Impress.

Now, if I create a style based on a selection of a single character and apply
it later then it applies it for the whole paragraph, not just the selected
characters.

I want to write bullet points of normal texts with some code samples inside
them. I wanted to define a style for the code snippets but if it gets applied
to the whole paragraph then it does not help.

Example:

Data Types:
- string ("abcd")
- integer (12)
- float (3.14)

The characters that I surrounded here by parenthesis, should be written with a
monospaced font (eg. Courier) and the name of the types should be written with
a proportional font (eg. Arial).

Currently, I cannot do this with styles and if I have many code samples in my
presentation then I need to do everything manually.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a bullet point list with 2 points, two words in each
2. reformat a word in the first line to be bold (or red, whatever)
3. define a style based on the selection
4. apply the style on one word in the second bullet point

Actual Results:
The whole list becomes bold (red, whatever)

Expected Results:
Just the selected word should change

Reproducible: Always

one is the handling of the parameters and the other one is, that the function

Description:
I've created a macro that works fine. Getting this macro assigned to a
right-click menu has proven impossible. I'm left with copying the macro and
pasting it into a module in the document. Organizer has been of no help. Seems
to me there should be a better way. I've looked at the LibreOffice tutorials
but they're focused on teaching new users how to write macros. I've looked at
other tutorials, but mostly they're out of date. The documentation is unclear
to say the lease.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a macro.
2. Attempt to get a new document to recognize the macro and execute it.
3.

Actual Results:
Confusion, no results

Expected Results:
I expected to be able to write a macro, assign it to a library, and execute it

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128524] tip of the day window missing line breaks

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128524

I'm getting this issue with 6.3.3.2 on Linux - 6.3.2.2 is OK.

cui/uiconfig/ui/tipofthedaydialog.ui#141
True
was added for 6.3.3.2, and with that set to True, and using the gen or gtk vcl
plugin, the text in the dialog window doesn't wrap.

Set it to False and the text *does* wrap.

For LO installed, this file is at:
share/config/soffice.cfg/cui/ui/tipofthedaydialog.ui
and I can toggle wrap/non-wrap by setting "selectable" in that file.

Using the gtk3 vcl plugin displays wrapped text whether it's "selectable" or
not.

One other observation is that for the gen or gtk vcl plugins, the wrapped text
is centred, but with the gtk3 vcl plugin, the text is aligned left.

2019-11-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128557

It wasn't easy for me to delete the Estilo 2 style. I deleted all text and
header and footer from the document and still could not get Estilo 2 to delete.
Estilo 2 is used by Chapter Styles; Subtitle and Title numbering style, set in
Outline & Numbering tab. I was able to delete it after it was removed from
these styles.

Is there currently a way to find this dependency? If not I have a patch ready
that lists these dependencies in the delete message box. So for Estilo 2 the
delete message box shows.

One or more of the selected styles is in use in this document.
If you delete these styles, text will revert to the parent style.
Do you still wish to delete these styles?
  Styles in use: Estilo 2
  Used by: Title, Subtitle

Since Estilo 2 doesn't have a parent style, delete reverts to the parent style
which is itself but at least the user can see what paragraphs styles use it so
it can be removed from them to enable it to be deleted.

Hello,

Today, I downloaded the new update of LibreOffice (6.3.3.2) And I noticed that
there is a bug whose consequences are difficult to predict. That's what it is:
When I want to save a document in Word 2007-2019 format, your software offers
me only the format I have never heard of: Word 2007-365. I have already
reinstalled the software but it has not given anything, the format that is
proposed instead of Word 2007-2019 is Word 2007-365.

We have goal to decrease print range from 5 to 3 rows.
I wouldn't like to go back from what was changed in Bug 122707. Meaning that I
don't like "range" dropdown.
Could we have radio or check:
All pages Selection (radio)
Odd Even (radio)
Pages: (smaller box)Reverse order (check)
