Do you reproduce this on a brand new file with a column some numeric values

If no, would it be possible you attach an example file?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128930] New: MacOS global commands change LO formatting

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128930

Bug ID: 128930
Summary: MacOS global commands change LO formatting
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d.stepanc...@gmail.com

Description:
LO 6.3.1.2 bug

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013)
MacOS 10.14.6

Trying to make scorecards for my EFL classes here at a Japanese university.

Text document: A4-size, Margins .59" all around
Content: Two multi-line tables each inside its own box shape (see attachment)

Bug: I attempted to simply make one table that takes up 45% of the top of the
page, then copy, paste and align the new pasted copy below the original. I
selected both boxed tables, went to the Format >> Align drop-down menu. I
selected Right, hoping that the 2 boxed table would align their right edges.
Instead one of the text content of one of the tables shifted to
right-justified. OK, I made a mistake. As a Mac user I naturally, automatically
clicked ⌘Z (Undo). Doing that completely changed the the formatting of the
boxed table. I clicked ⌘Z again and LO again produced an unwanted format change
in that table. I clicked ⌘Z again and the outcome was another perversion of the
formatting. All the while the other boxed table remain unaffected.

This is unacceptable. LibreOffice docs should appropriately respond to the
Mac's basic global commands of ⌘Z (Undo), etc. I have had this same bug in
previous versions of LO.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Make mistake in a table, & click ⌘Z;
2.Doing that completely changed the the formatting of the boxed table;
3.Click ⌘Z again, & table formatting queers even worse.

Actual Results:
Clicking ⌘Z again and LO again produced an unwanted format change in that
table. I had to fix it manually.

Expected Results:
LO obeys global MacOS Redo key combo to undo the previous LO action.

Reproducible: Always

Looking in more detail, when I type single quote ' the language in the status
changed from Chinese(Taiwan) to English, but when I input Chinese character it
jumped back to Chinese (Taiwan). It looks like showing the (detected) language
of current character (selections).

And the language settings and detecting seem to be for spellchecking, which
would be usually useless in CJK, but would easily confuse users.

@Heiko, do you think it a UX problem to discuss? Putting keyword first.

Dear Lionel Elie Mamane,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

I had to skip many probes for the lack of libpng12.so.0. The

1. Where I can find this "Writing aids box"?
2. As I write, I can't find nowhere an entry, where I could control the
Hyphenation. In spellchecker funcion you can add new words, but in Hyphenation
you haven't any control. May it is because it's the german language we talk
about. Maybe it's something else if we would talk about english. The only way
to control it is to set "geschützter Bindestrich" (ctrl+shift+-) or "Weicher
Trennstrich" (ctrl+-), but then the spellshecker mark it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128927] New: UI: Groupedbar Compact shows irritating symbol colour where filter was expected

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128927

Bug ID: 128927
Summary: UI: Groupedbar Compact shows irritating symbol colour
where filter was expected
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gerhard.we...@t-online.de

Using View -> User Interface - Groupedbar Compact you will find a dropdown list
named Colour at the right. The content of the dropdown list is nearly identical
to the list of menu entries for the symbol "filter", used in all other versions
for the user interface. The exception is an entry named Image Mode, where there
is no visible change for an image selected, so the function remains unclear;
also a connection with a colour function is not discernible. More important:
there is no reason to connect these tools with colour as primary object.
Suggestions:
- Rename to "Filter", as in all other versions of the user interface
- Clarify the function of entry Image Mode

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128885] search and replace with makros

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128885

As I write, I use this Find Dialog, but I have to use it a few times in
the row. I tried AltSearch, but it doesn't help me. I read somewhere, Libre
makros don't support the search and replace command at all. That's the point.
My request is, this would be changed, so I can write markos for serching and
replacing more than one time at once.
For exampe, you write a story for a film. In the first line you have to write
the name of the character. But while writing, you short the name, e.g. DT =
Donald Trump, AM = Angela Merkel, and so on. You may have 20 charakters and
have to replace the shortcuts by the full name. You have to do it 20 times. It
would be easier to write a makro for one, copy this, change the relevant
entries and just start it. If you write more of the story, you just have to run
the makro.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128884] frame line where they shouldn't be

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128884

I downloaded a lore ipsum text. I took the original file, made a copy, delete
all content (text, headlines, pictures and table of content), inserted the
lorem ipsum text in there and formated it as the standert text in the original
document. Only the header is still there, as you can see. I made lines like in
the original (You can see my settings on Image "line settings.png" for the
under line) on Page 1 and 3. I even start my computer again, but it seems, I
can't reproduce the "error". It may something in the original document to cause
this.
At first I thought it happens, because its line settings, and if it would be a
whole box (with the left and right line, too), you may could expect, it would
be extend or repeat on the next page. So Libre don't recognice, there are just
upper and under line.
I have also an Imgae of the error in the original text for the under line
(underline with second above.png) where you can see how it looks like in it.
I don't use commands, because there already so much commands there in the
original text, they wouldn't be notice.
thanks for your interest

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86872] Word completion: Add ability to save word completion (aka "auto complete") lists and re-use them

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86872

--- Comment #10 from david.c.litt...@gmail.com ---
This enhancement request has not had a comment for a long time so I'd like to
raise/vote for it again because I believe it would be a very significant
addition to the user experience with LO and, therefore, to its prospects for
wider adoption especially by people using Word now that W10 apparently has some
global autocomplete features.

It would be a tremendous help if new words were added to a global autocomplete
list rather than added only to per-document lists.

I just finished writing a book (Democratic Party Renaissance - Rank and File
Action Manifesto) and at some point will probably do a 2nd ed and perhaps a
follow up volume that addresses some of the topics in depth.

In producing the text I typed hundreds of "new" words (people, places, parties,
laws, etc.) and if I do the 2nd ed or a follow up volume I would obviously like
those words in my autocomplete list.

I have worked at a professional level as an experimental psychologist, a
computer scientist, and other fields in which there are hundreds if not
thousands of lexical items one uses every day. Not to be able to, for example,
write a second paper on the same topic as 6 months ago and use the same
autocomplete list is, to put it mildly, frustrating as all get out.

There are a few hacks. The one I created was: Make and prepopulate a word list
document with just all your words, open it whenever you're writing a new
document, create the new document, save the new document and the word list
document frequently, and it kind of works ok. But that's a pretty circuitous
route to achieve what I am sure many many people working in lexically rich
disciplines would love to have and when I describe the hack to people who would
like to have global autocomplete their eyes start to roll back after the first
sentence.

At the UX level, perhaps along with the "collect words" and "discard when
closing document" check boxes in the Tools/Autocorrect/Autocorrect Options
panel, add a "add words to global autocomplete list" checkbox.

Then, in options/settings, a choice to "always load global autocomplete list"
or just do it by default and, ideally, put a button on the toolbar "Turn On/Off
Global Autocomplete" scoped to the current document.

By the way I have 8K words in my prepopulated document and have no performance
issues on an old single core 4GB W7 machine so I don't see why the limit
couldn't be bumped up to 20K.

I really like autocomplete, have used e.g., LightKey which is a really nice
piece of commercial software, and as noted, evidently W10 has some global
autocomplete functionality.

But to provide a robust global autocomplete with an open source product as good
as LibreOffice would really advance the cause.

Thanks.

Now it's a different story. I can confirm the bug.
It's a permanent error, closing (and eventually saving) and reopening do
change nothing, if you create a new slide then the fields for the title and the
text are again missing.
The procedure you described (copying the previews in a new document) always led
to a document looking correct, creating a new slide then did work.
I tried to look at the attributes of the document and to compare them, but I
only found one difference which I am not sure is harmless, and that's one I
simply don't understand: the BuildId was ";6332" in your doc and "" in the
newly created one, but I have no idea what that means.
I also unzipped the documents, but to no avail.
But these efforts were only blind poking, as I do not know much about these
things, and I certainly will not be able to find the reason. To find out the
cause why the document changed its state will probably be difficult, but your
document at least provides the chance to find out what is wrong with its
present state, comparing it to the newly created "copy" (simply copying the
file does not work).
Still an Impress document is quite complex, with masters etc., and I presume a
Draw document would make it easier. So if you could provide a simple Draw
example as well, I think this would help developpers who try to tackle the
problem.
For the future I can only assume the role of spectator, I am afraid.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128926] New: PPS files will not play with Libre Office Impress 6.2.8

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128926

Bug ID: 128926
Summary: PPS files will not play with Libre Office Impress
6.2.8
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: edwardsta...@gmail.com

Description:
click on PPS (powerpoint show file) to open. Impress starts and loads first
slide than hangs on first slide. Only way to proceed from there is to abort
the program as no keys or mouse buttons respond. Windows 10 64 bit OS does
eventually say the program is hung and offers to report it to Microsoft.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.get a PPS file
2.open it
3.try to leave the first slide without hanging or crashing.

Actual Results:
impossible to leave first slide. after clicking enough keys windows 10 will
intercept and say program is not responding and offer to abort or wait.

Expected Results:
I expect to be able to switch from slide to slide by hitting enter or clicking
mouse until the presentation is over. or even using the right arrow key. Then
when on the last slide I expect it to exit.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Here is a sample of the PPS files that fail to play.

Hi Gerhard

Thanks for looking into this. I uploaded an Impress Document that shows the
same error.

I still consider this a serious bug. It happens randomly (every half year) on
random odg/odp-Documents, that had worked well before. It seems to be a purely
administrative issue, since the content is there and can be restored with
copy/paste from the preview pane.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128925] New: CALC freezes after search Find & Replace in "Current Selection Only"

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128925

Bug ID: 128925
Summary: CALC freezes after search Find & Replace in "Current
Selection Only"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t...@namdar.com

After upgrade to Ubuntu 19.10, Libreoffice 6.3.3.2, on a Thinkpad, this bug
appeared:

when searching (Find & Replace) with a column selected and "Current selection
only" by mistake was NOT checked, the first click on "Find next" goes well but
with the second click, Calc freezes. The mouse still works but I can't switch
to other applications using alt-tab. After a few minutes the force quit/wait
pop up appears but doesn't reacht for another couple of minutes.

Same as above but "Current selection only" checked, then Calc freezes too but I
can switch to other applications and kill libreoffice.

When nothing is selected and "Current selection" not checked then everything
works normal.

This is all on a powerful Thinkpad. I am highly dependent on multiple searches
like that which are restreicted to one column. Please help, thanks! Hope I gave
enough information

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127753] No more line attribute when I merge forms

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127753

Gerhard Weydt changed:

   What|Removed |Added

Merging is a complicate process: the forms to be merged, which are custom
shapes, are transformed into one closed Bézier shape, consisting obviously of
may Bézier curves. In my test, which looked much like yours, I got, for
example, 41 coordinates for the rectangle and 97 for the ellipse (if I
interpret the fact correctly that there are two arrays). I think there are as
much as 41 for the rectangle because if you look closely at it, you see its
corners are rounded; for the ellipse agreat number of segments is no surprise.
And there still is a so-called metafile having 36564 lines, I assume it
contains information about the Bézier curves used, but I don't really know.
Now in your example both shapes had the same attributes, but the general case
is that they may differ. The result of merging is one object, having one field
for each attribute, so the solution to set the attribute to the default value
seems logical.
On the other hand, area fill is handled differently: it seems that the colour
of the object lying farthest back (menu item : Send to Back, Send Backward, as
a default set in order of creation) is used to set the colour of the new
object. So one could argue that the same procedure should apply to the line
attributes, which in your example would exactly what you wish.
But then I would regard it as an enhancement request (set Importance:
enhancement). If you do so, I will confirm the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33800] Enable PDF export of simple slide animations in Impress

2019-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33800

I think this bug is still there in LibreOffice 6.0.7.3. Or at least I do not
find how to export a pdf with these "incremental" slides.

Did I miss something? I am a new user of LibreOffice, and I am surprised to see
that this feature is not implemented. For me this is rather essential (are
there really some people who do *not* export their presentations to PDF?), and
available out of the box in every other presentation software I used.

The suggested extension works perfectly for my simple use case (I only use the
"appear" effect, and not with bullet points), so I think integrating it
upstream would be an acceptable workaround.

Am I at the right place to ask? This bug is marked as "new" but was opened 8.5
years ago...
