Version 7, Customize dialog, Available Commands list box, has a tooltip that
shows the UNO command. The Description box shows the UNO command for the
selected command in the list box.

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131976

Bug ID: 131976
   Summary: Crash in: libswlo.so
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: luke.kend...@gmail.com

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-18767ca4-1ab8-4199-a6e0-0673e1a735c1.
=
I highlighted some text which had a comment attached, and dragged it to the
start of the paragraph. When I released the mouse, Writer crashed.
Upon recovery, no data had been lost, but the moved text now appeared in two
places, with the comment still attached to the text in its original place, the
moved text ending with two special symbols embedded in the text.
When I tried to reproduce the crash with a smaller file, I couldn't.

Compare the Undo: Data Input with regular Undo, it's flipped

Icon for Undo: Data Input use regular undo instead of flipped version in RTL UI

Step to reproduce:

1. Change UI to RTL language (Arabic, Hebre, Persian or Urdu)
2. Open Writer > Ctrl +Shift + F4, go to one of Table of a database, eg biblio
table in Bibliography database, click cell in Author
3. Look at Undo: Data Input icon, the sixth icon from the right

Dear mcq_public,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106859

Dear Pierre C,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

1) set "completed" column to select only empty cell
2) sort by Description, columns have labels
3) all rows are now exposed. (I think this is a bug, but an old one)
4) if I look at filter, "empty" is still the only thing checked
if I click ok, nothing is filtered. This used to work.
If I uncheck empty and re-check it and click ok, filter still not working
I have to actually change the filter criteria for filters to take
   take effect again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131910] Hang with Pie chart

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131910

Thank you for reporting the bug. The bug is reproducible only on a huge number
of datasets (i.e provided sample). However, not reproducible when trying with
small dataset samples.
Probably the dataset provided is not suitable for pie chart visualization since
it might not be visually interpretable. If you starting with sizable small
sample data it works fine. conversely, if you keep increasing the dataset past
some certain limit it hangs.

I don't talk about the similarities between two. If you try the extension
attached yes the unprotect cell use single opened/unlocked padlock. I can
easily change it and it will have no issue all since the command
(.uno:UnSetCellsReadOnly) is a unique command. I talked about Protect Cell
command here.

Base .odb file for tracking computer backups. (crash repeatable)

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-b873dc06-5270-4a91-9193-b94cba5f0861.
=
Repeatable crashes happened both when (1) copying text from a database column
or, after that crashed Base, while (2) trying to recover the .odb file.

File was located in my Dell e4200 laptop's home directory. Numerous Base
crashes happened over several hours; Base had been exited and re-launched
several times during that period. Did not reboot.

Specs for laptop (running Peppermint Linux) at
https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/servicetag/0-SUtJMDM1SkpuTmwrYVB3MXBqR1I5dz090/overview
and

(1) Recreating copy-text crash.
Database "BackTrack.odb" (attached to bug report) was open. Opened existing
"CPU_Names" table with about 14 entries in Table Data view, clicked into
"Usage" field (it was empty), typed in "standby", then double-clicked to
highlight the word, intending to paste it elsewhere. Pressed Ctrl-C to copy
that plain text, and Base crashed. This was repeated at least three times, in
between the crashes while attempting to recover the .odb files.

(2) Crash during LibreOffice 6.4 Document Recovery.
About 75% of the time, while recovering from the crashes in (1) above, the
recovery process itself would crash (2-3 duplicate entries for BackTrack.odb
were displayed) . About 25% of the time the recovery process would complete,
and Base would function correctly--until it would crash again, though not
necessarily by only the copy-text crash (it crashes in several other areas).

Thanks. Please excuse the content/format. It's been many years since I
submitted something to Bugzilla.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131971] New: Draw -> Insert -> Image... PDF file incorrectly scaled

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131971

Bug ID: 131971
Summary: Draw -> Insert -> Image... PDF file incorrectly scaled
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: si...@web.org.uk

Description:
Draw is able to insert a PDF file as a non-editable, placed image. This is
good, and has a different utility to File -> Open... PDF.

However, an A4 PDF file has a MediaBox that is typically defined as 595 x 842
points which is 8.26" x 11.69" at 72 points/inch.

Draw is Insert -> Image... importing the PDF at an effective scale of 96.78
points/inch and as a result the A4 PDF is rendered at a size of 6.15" x 8.7"
rather than A4 size.

(Note: When File -> Open... foo.pdf is used, the PDF comes in at the correct A4
size)

Tested on two different MacBook Pros running OS X 10.11 (El Capitan), and with
v6.3.5.2 and v6.4.2.2

Using a Draw page size smaller than 6.15" x 8.7" causes the imported PDF to be
scaled down to fit the non-margined area of the page (I believe this is
expected behaviour).

Using an A4 page size with zero margins does not fix the problem.

Using a page size larger than A4 does not fix the problem. Tested up to A0 in
size, inserted PDF continues to come in at the 6.15" x 8.7" dimensions.

Important Note: If I insert the same PDF as a background image on the Master
page (Page -> Set Background Image...) then it comes in at the correct size.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new Draw page with 0 margins and A4 in size
2. Use Insert -> Image... and select a PDF file containing one A4 page
3. Observe that resulting inserted image is the incorrect size (not A4)

Actual Results:
The result is an inserted image that is 6.15" x 8.7" in size, instead of 8.26"
x 11.69"

Expected Results:
A PDF inserted in this way should be sized based on its MediaBox dimensions
scaled at 72 points per inch

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
An example PDF is available at http://web.org.uk/tmp/draw/SL91.pdf

The attached screenshot shows the same example PDF when used for the Page ->
Set Background Image (correct size) and the size it appears when Insert ->
Image... is used.

This is not a solution. It is an abuse of the style system.

It requires a proliferation of list styles for every combination of meaningful
list type crossed with every character style whose formatting bleeds over. It
requires all such styles to be manually kept in sync should their properties
need to be changed. It requires a different style to be used for different
items of the same list, and for these to be changed when the content changes.
In short, it completely defeats the use of styles.

The problems go far beyond the example in this bug. For serious documents,
extensive character formatting is basically unusable at present.

It also defeats the use of manual formatting, since redundant character and
list styles must be created for every instance.

Finally, it is unreasonable to expect novice users to be have to do this,
whether they use styles or manually formatting.

I think I understand what you said. I just wanted to confirm the naming issue.

I can imagine cases where you might not want to align the top of the page, but
rather get the top or bottom of the page in view with surrounding context. So
they might be worth keeping.

A possible workaround is for programmers:

eating the elephant in some steps is better than one step.

A solution is global document ODM

with 10 or 20 pages parts

with a preview window for the old way

and a new way with options.

So the work is cut by some pages in many documents in the odm.

This is also a solution for different paper sizes and orientations.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131970] New: LO Create hyperlink → Jump to the correct field by keyboard with TAB?

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131970

Bug ID: 131970
Summary: LO Create hyperlink → Jump to the correct field by
keyboard with TAB?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: so...@web.de

Description:
░▒▓ Hello, everybody ▓▒░

I work a lot with hyperlinks in LibreOffice documents. Since some updates,
creating them has become unnecessarily "complicated", because I can't work only
with the keyboard anymore.

I always create hyperlinks with "Ctrl+K" and then use the menu that appears.

In the past I used to insert the link, then jumped with a few TABs into the
"Text" field, added my text to it and then pressed ENTER. → "simple" way

If I now do that in the latest version 6.4 it jumps from the "URL" field to the
"Help" button. If I press ENTER now it is clear what happens :). So in the
current version (which runs really great!) I have to grab the mouse and click
into the field "Text" to get the desired result.

I am actually on LO 6.4.3.1, but this was also a few Versions ago so.
I think this was changed with the new Hyperlink Editor.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Calc, Writer or any othe document and add a Hyperlink "example with "CTRL+K"
2. add a link into the "URL" field
3. press TAB to jump into the nex needed field example "Text"
4. instead of jumping to the next input field, the "TAB" key unfortunately
jumps to the buttons like "help"

Actual Results:
always the same @work @privat and other computers running on Windows 10
other OS not tested

Expected Results:
I think the majority of users use "hyperlinks" in combination with "text" and
exactly this creation has now become more complicated.
It would be great if the Hyperlink Editor could work in this steps:
1. CTRL+K
2. opens directly in the URL field (like in the moment)
3. press "TAB" → jumps directly into the "Text" field
4. press "ENTER" → Hyperlink created succesfully

something else: would it be possible that LO remembers the previously entered
"texts" in the text field more or less an auto-completion for repeated texts?
Because we process parts lists and the suppliers repeat themselves, we would
not have to enter the same names regularly.

Reproducible: Always

File with image map

Open attached file. It contains two images with image-map. The active area is
defined by a polygon. The only difference is the svg:viewBox element. In the
first image width and height of it is double of the values in the second image.
Expected result: The active area in the first image is half the width and
height of that in the second image.
To see the active area click on the image and go to menu Edit > Image Map.

To see, that doubling width and height in the svg:viewBox indeed makes the
polygon half the width and height, you can use the second attached file. It has
two shapes which differ only in the svg:viewBox, same as in the image map, that
one is half of the other.

LibreOffice works internally always with 1/100 mm and writes the svg:viewBox
accordingly. But it should be able to interpret other values on opening. It
would solve the problem, if the 1/100 mm coordinates would be calculated on
opening such files.

Easy to search for either label (as shown in UI) or the command name:

https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/

Most of these sorts of things are in the 'core' project.

>

Yes, but they are "scrolling" commands, and reposition the document canvas by
some os/DE defined value, *complementing* the VCL canvas movement commands (all
defined as UNO Actions as well) linked to single keyboard keys (Down, Up, Left,
Right, Home, End, PgDown, PgUp)--essential to movement behavior typical of all
text editors.

The related goto/jump UNO commands, affecting viewport, are with
--KEY_MOD1--assignments by default.

And why, moving the Jump to Header/Footer assignments to
--KEY_MOD1 + KEY_MOD2 is needed to free up for use for the new
GoToPreviousPage/GoToNextPage.

> 2. I now understand that 'To Begin of Next/Previous Page' is
> .uno:GotoStartOf(Next/Prev)Page. Okay, good.
>

That was the legacy Navigator control, it got cleaned up a few years back to
fix alignment to the top of the page, but it never relocated the Edit Cursor.
Not sure if it is still needed once the new controls are put in.

I don't necessarily need it for a report; nonetheless, I am unable to save the
format. steps: right click on column > column format > decimal places=6 > ok >
file > save > close > double click query...back to two decimal places.
I can reformat column again, but am unable to save it, so I can't get the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101211] "Previous page" and "Next page" functions in navigator not available for keyboard binding

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101211

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #24)

I think this needs further discussion, probably a separate bug.

Currently, double clicking named objects in the navigator moves the cursor. Or
at least, it does for headings and tables. I haven't tested everything.

But page navigation currently works differently. No matter what you pick in the
compass menu, the previous/next buttons do not move the cursor. So we would
have to consider the cursor should always move, never move (as it is now), or
whether it should vary for each object type.

Let me try again, taking into account what you two have said recently.

I don't know what the UNO and C++ names are for anything (though I am picking
them up gradually here), just the names in the customize dialog and in the rest
of the UI. This makes things difficult.

1. You two refer to .uno:PageUp/PageDown. I think that these are the commands
that are currently labeled "Next/Previous Page" in the customize dialog. If so,
the names of the UNO commands are fine, but the names in the customize dialog
need to be changed. They are misleading as is, and will only get worse when the
new commands are added.

2. I now understand that 'To Begin of Next/Previous Page' is
.uno:GotoStartOf(Next/Prev)Page. Okay, good.

3. You proposed .uno:GoTo(Prev/Next)Page / 'To Previous/Next Page' for the new
functions. I'm happy with this if you guys are. But the functions in #1 MUST be
renamed.

We have no problem with the filter, it is not used at the moment because the
requirements have changed in the meantime. When I started a LO Debug version I
only noticed that a warning was generated and I wanted to get to the bottom of

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125162] SQL Syntax incorrect for LEFT / RIGHT JOIN when migrating from Base to Firebird

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125162

With my present version (6.3.5.2 on Ubuntu 18.04), I no longer see any tool to
migrate to Firebird and the migration is no longer suggested at start-up of a
base document.

As for the problem I had with migration, I did find some workaround for the 3
things that prevented me to migrate. But it is still a lot of work:
1) get rid of all the {oj...} in the syntax of queries like "FROM { oj "Table1"
LEFT OUTER JOIN "Table2"...}" - HSQL understand the query without the {oj} but
stubbornly adds them when saving the query.
2) replace all the "CONCAT( aaa , bbb )" by the syntax "aaa || bbb"
3) replace the code I had made to output 1 or 0 in a complex query to check if
one person is in a list (where the relationship is defined by a intermediate
table to have a many to many relationship between lists and persons), so as to
display which list a persons belongs to in a form. I had used a code with
CONCAT to calculate this 0 or 1, and I can replace it with a CASE syntax (which
works in both HSQL and Firebird)
The good thing is that for points 2) and 3), the new syntax valid for Firebird
works also for HSQL

I guess you speak about Writer, because you neither marked not wrote.
It's true that right click on the table gives 'Unprotect Cells' and that makes
sense and that menu is smaller.
It's also true that right click on the table or selected cells doesn't give
'Protect Cells' but that menu is bigger and let's ask UX should it be there,
taking the frequency of use.

Note to reporter: there are icons to protect and unprotect, that can be added
to toolbar. Should be a toggle. I will write about that in bug 130783.

You need this query for a report? The report will save the formatting of a
field. There is nothing lost. Only the query doesn't show this by default.

One hint together with reports: I don't use queries for a report, because it
works only with simple queries. I prefer to create view for a report.

I will set this one to NEW and ENHANCEMENT, because it has never been possible
to save the formatting of a query. Also switched the version to "Inherited From
OOo"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131964] New: formatting of word files

2020-04-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131964

Bug ID: 131964
   Summary: formatting of word files
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@lodilo.com

Description:
Hi!

I've been using Libreoffice for a few years. Sometimes I have
noticed
that it does not conserve the formatting of Word files from MS
Office,
especially when there are columns.

Now a client told me that the format is often messed up in files
they
receive back from me after revision. It seems to be the case with
text
colour, font size, bullet lists, "Markierungen" (markings - might be
marking colours behind words or word groups, or maybe track changes
... ?)

Here is a file that would not work in MS Office again. Sorry that I
cannot send you the complete original, before and after my revision,
but
it is client content of course.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Wordfile
2. Save file from Libreoffice
3. Send file to client
4. Client complains about messed up bullet lists, text font or size or colour
etc

Actual Results:
Please see above. Format gets messed up just by using Libreoffice. Even in
relatively simple formatting.

Expected Results:
Customer complaints.

Reproducible: Didn't try

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Keeping the formatting at least in relatively straightforward docs.
