Yes, it does, thank you, but it is not obvious at all and I do not catch the
logics behind this behaviour

I did not understand what Roman meant. If I specify ';;' as A separator (a =
one), why does LibreOffice ignore the second ';'?

Thanks. I'm trying to verify your suggestion. I tried both commands below:

soffice --headless --convert-to html problem.docx

soffice --headless --convert-to xhtml problem.docx

The resulting HTML and XHTML files are identical. Is there a particular way to
convert to the XHTML as you suggested?

Dear Marco Filippozzi,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103796] (FILEOPEN) Chart are not displayed when importing a WPS Spreadsheet (.et) files

Dear haevalencia,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

But did you change the Icon theme selection to an SVG theme first?

The PNG icon themes would be scaled poorly and be pixelated. Selecting an SVG
theme, which would be parsed at initial launch, and the cleanly scaled icons
saved as PNG for that scale level.

You're right, this happens much more randomly than I thought at first, and it's
indeed in 5.0.0.5 already.

(In reply to Telesto from comment #14)

However, this can't be the right commit, the change is in sc, which is
Calc-specific. Let's leave bibisectRequest up.

I've also reduced priority/severity, the layout is certainly bad, but if the
bug hasn't been found for 5 years, it must be some rare corner case.

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikhail...@dumalogiya.ru

Description:
There is a very strange table made in Microsoft Office Word.
MS Word, including MS Office Online, displays e.g. "620", but actually it is
"" (I do not know what it is, just some random UTF-8 symbols!)
"symbol" font is set in the original document. If I change the font to "Times
New Roman" in MS Office Online, symbols are displayed as UTF-8 krakozyabraz.
In LibreOffice, they are displayed as krakozyabraz out of the box.
I do not understand how MS Office manages to display "" as "620".
LibreOffice fails to do it.

Reproducible: Always

2nd movement, sheet 1 with comments back again before sheet 2 - kiss your
computer good night, maybe it will talk to you again tomorrow ...

i've an unsure feeling that there are some improvements, it's possible to get
focus on other maps / files - after reasonable wait - in win and work in them,
but the main problem isn't solved ...

linux (debian) worse than windows, system freeze, but both unusable :-(

ver. 4.1.6.2 already affected /win - crash), probably inherited from OOo

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132937

Bug ID: 132937
   Summary: Export to PDF: White text appear with color outline;
applies to LibO Writer and LibO Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export

  Reporter: iavs.le...@gmail.com

Created attachment 160634
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=160634=edit
White (and other light colors) sample text with no desired color outline.

LibO side:
1. A LibO Writer or LibO Calc document with white (or other light color) text.
2. Export to PDF (no selected boxes in PDF Options, General tab, General area).

Next four steps with Adobe Acrobat Reader X:
3. Open whatever file [could be the same of step 2].
4. Close that file (Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4) [do not close Acrobat Reader].
5. Open the file of step 2. White text appear with a color outline.
6. This outline disappear while zooming to 600% or more.

Environment:
• LibreOffice 5.4.7.2 x86 (over Windows XP 32-bit);
• LibreOffice 6.2.8.2 x86 (over Windows 10 Home 32-bit);
• LibreOffice 6.3.6.2 x86 (over Windows 7 Professional 32-bit);
(both from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/)
• [UI] language: Español (España);

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132936] New: Incorrect origin creating new selection after copy/paste

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132936

Bug ID: 132936
Summary: Incorrect origin creating new selection after
copy/paste
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: strata_ran...@hotmail.com

Description:
In Calc, if you use Shift+arrow keys to make a contiguous rectangular selection
*immediately* after a paste operation, LO the new selection's opposite corner
is initialized at A1 instead of the current cell.

Steps to Reproduce:
1- In Calc, select any range of cells using the keyboard only (Shift+arrows);
the actual size of selection does not matter (even a single cell will do).
2- Copy the selection, then paste it any convenient distance from the origin
(e.g. G10).
2- Immediately start making a new selection via keyboard only (Shift+arrows).

Actual Results:
The second selection originates at the pasted location but its other corner is
assumed to be A1 (plus whatever arrow key was used).

Expected Results:
There should be no difference between step 1 and step 3 above.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105967] Tracked edits to line/paragraph breaks not formatted according to inserted/deleted status

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105967

--- Comment #6 from strata_ran...@hotmail.com ---
Still present up to 6.0.6.2 and 6.3.6.2 (which I just updated to).

Version: 6.3.6.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2196df99b074d8a661f4036fca8fa0cbfa33a497
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Now the 6.4 release notes mention a fix involving tracked changes and numbered
list items (per tdf#42748) which might be relevant here too, as list items are
also separated via hard (paragraph) breaks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103548] Filtering rows and columns in 2 dimensions

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103548

that's ... challenging ...

esp. while existing filters are not 'clean' but have problems with their
interactions, with compatibility with Excel, storage in different formats,
horizontal autofilters are not implemented, and the question is open how to
control the evaluation of, and the access to, filters in one dimension that are
'off screen' due to transverse filters ...

unless someone has an important use case for which crossed filters are
absolutely necessary I don't see any chance that a developer will take care of
it ...

in theory one might attempt a multi-step solution, filtering with 'copy output
to', transposing that area and applying a second filter ... but my system
actually said 'SIGSEV' to such tries, and i've read in other threads that
transposing switches off filtering and similar ... small hope ...

Stumbled across this when adding a submenu to the Navigator content view to
provide UI for outline content folding. Outline content folding is WIP. To
repro this bug apply the patch found here:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/93908

Steps to repro:
1) apply the formentioned patch
2) open a Writer file with an outline structure or create one by adding one or
more Headings to the document
3) open the Navigator (Menu > View > Sidebar then select Navigator tab in the
tab bar or F5 for floating version)
4) left mouse click on the Headings entry in the navigation content view to
select it
5) right mouse click on the Headings entry to show the context menu
6) select the Outline Content submenu
7) either select an entry in the submenu or click away from it

It could be interesting to have some examples of patches.
For example, I see this:
#define STR_ObjNameSingulNONE   NC_("STR_ObjNameSingulNONE", "Drawing object")
#define STR_ObjNamePluralNONE   NC_("STR_ObjNamePluralNONE", "Drawing objects")

First one is used in TakeObjNameSingul, the second in TakeObjNamePlural
in svx/source/svdraw/svdobj.cxx

Then what should I do for this case?

I'm not convinced it's OS thing.

First, I know that "Change the size of text and apps, and other items" thing
*does* activate LO's HiDPI code, and LO has the DPI information from OS to
handle the scaling itself. Since LO is HiDPI-aware application (its binaries
have corresponding information in the manifests), Windows does not scale its UI
itself.

Second, I tried the two different modes ("Change the size of text and apps, and
other items" and "Advance scaling settings") on my Win10 1909, and both gave me
exactly the same display as in OP's attachment 152836 from comment 1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129820] Format "Standard" appears (replaced) Format "General" in Variables (Field)

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129820

To go back to the original report:

Why should there be both "General" and "Standard" formats?
That is the main concern.

New way to demonstrate (not dependent on locale setting, as best I can tell),
and no need to open previous documents.

1. Open document. Use status bar to set language to Danish.
2. Ctrl-F2, Variable, Set Variable (shows "Standard") in Format
3. Change language in same document to English (USA) or English (UK)
4. Repeat Step 2 -- now shows "General"
5. Change language to Finnish
6. Repeat Step 2 -- now shows "Yleinen"

Presumably all the variables are still treated as numerical variables -- but
why should there be different format names for different languages (when the UI
language is not changing)?

(there is no documentation -- in English -- about "Standard" or "General"
format -- afaik)

(I assume that a document will store the version "Standard" or "General" or
whatever was used when the variable was created -- and will be used when the
document is opened. No problem with that. But still wondering if there should
be both "General" and "Standard")

Tested with:
Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 10e20a77ce302a0475a661ad1886f2ca83c55f3f

> So for me, the bug is something like: "Hyperlink always starts in a new

I think that's accurate, yes. Because of this behaviour in LO, sometimes the
text in LO takes up more lines than the text in MS Word.

> BTW: You should never wrap the URL after a hyperlink, because it's not clear,
> if the hyphen is part of the URL or not.

You have a point. But both LO and MS Word seem to already do this to some
extent though, so I don't know what to do about that...

Dumping sys clipboard with InsideClipboard MS 'Snip & Sketch' outputs:

Format ID - Format Name - Handle type - Size - Index

2 CF_BITMAP Bitmap 0 2
49279 PNG Stream 119,369 3

49853 ContentSourceUserActivity Memory 794 1

+V, menu, or mouse 'Paste' into LibreOffice is empty, and Paste Special
to LibreOffice only offers Bitmap which is empty on insertion.

Guess we need a filter handler to recognize the 49279 PNG clipboard format as
usable, and some means to recognize that the CF_BITMAP is empty, so should not
be offered?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132933] New: Printing large fonts doesn't work but exporting does

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132933

Bug ID: 132933
Summary: Printing large fonts doesn't work but exporting does
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: will.fried...@gmail.com

Description:
When printing a document with very large font sizes (e.g., 600pt font) where a
single letter appears to take up the whole page on screen (and in "print
preview"), printing through the regular print dialog box results in printing a
smaller letter. This is true whether printing to a regular printer or to an
external PDF printer like CutePDF. When exporting to PDF, however, the letter
prints normally, taking up the whole page as expected, and printing the PDF
works perfectly as well.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set font size to 600pt.
2. Type a single letter, which should take up the whole page.
3. Go to print preview, see that the letter takes up the whole page.
4. Go to File | Print, and print the document; see that it prints smaller in
the corner.
5. Go to File | Export; open in a PDF reader and see that the letter prints
properly, taking up the whole page.

Actual Results:
Printing in step 4 prints a small letter in the corner.

Expected Results:
Printing should print the same result as exporting to PDF in step 5.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 132932] New: Strings that need pluralization via ngettext

2020-05-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132932

Bug ID: 132932
Summary: Strings that need pluralization via ngettext
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: lowest
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fit...@ubuntu.com

The LibreOffice code base, due to historical reasons, has lots of
quasi-duplicate translatable strings in its resources, whose only difference is
the grammatical number; e.g. “rounded rectangle” / “rounded rectangles”. For
l10n purposes, this is not optimal for the many languages that do not fit with
English’s pluralization paradigm — for example, Arabic has up to six plural
forms, Slavic languages have three, and even those languages with two plural
forms do not exactly fit with English (like Portuguese, where “0 items” should
be “0 ítem”, singular).

Until very recently, thanks to the work of Caolán, we are now able to use
ngettext to support those languages whose pluralization has either fewer or
more forms than English (two). ngettext deals with all the problems enumerated
above, so LibreOffice should gradually be upgraded to use it. Multiple people
can work on this as time permits.

(but I do not beleave that issue depends on iconset).

Thanks for the patch!

I was looking at other icon bugs and had a look at your patch.

I don't think you should specify * as an Document Extension, as that will make
LO open any file if I understand the documentation correctly?

Other than that, the properties you use are deprecated in preference for
“Document Content Type UTIs”, but will probably work
