Hi

Reproduced on windows & Version : 6.4.3.2 (x64)
Build ID : 747b5d0ebf89f41c860ec2a39efd7cb15b54f2d8
Threads CPU : 2; OS : Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI Render : par
défaut; VCL: win;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR); Langue IHM : fr-FR
Calc: threaded

More info. This did not happen with OOo 3.2 but is already happening with
LibreOffice 4.1.0. I don't know if this is intentional or a regression. My
feeling is that it is a bug because if you want to hide a column... you want to
hide the whole column, including the "comment" information badly reported in
another column.

I change status to NEW

Best regards
Pierre-Yves

Duplication of a bug may occur if it is not eliminated on time. That may cause
code complexity so the better option is to change it manually or to look for
the alternative solution in the repository. Acknowledge me here

This is a FAQ. For example discussed here
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Meetings/2018-08-01

* Clear styles
...
+ problems will occur with nested styles and when a character style is combined
with direct formatting
+ users have to take care of putting DF on top of character styles; it's not
the supposed workflow
+ we could think about disabling DF when a character style is set (Stuart)
=> there are more side effects and negative consequences than benefits = WF/WFM

Point is, users have to learn to use a complex software. Mastering means to
understand the details. If we disable DF is any CS is set and vice versa,
Stuart's idea from back then, Benjamin users likely have no clue why this
happens and Eve users call it a regression. => WF

The request was to show CS on the toolbar. CS/PS are unlimited lists, supposed
to be extended by users. Whatever we do beyond the S deck (and similar views)
is doomed to fail. However, there is an ongoing GSoC project which aims to
provide better feedback on applied PS and CS. Just feedback.

Still NAB in my opinion (or WF if enhancement).

Dear Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired),

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Hi Mike,

It's been a long time since I've looked at this item. Although I haven't looked
at the code or tried to force this item in a couple of years, your explanation
is succinct and looks correct.

Thank you for looking at it. :)

John

Hello Dieter,

Thanks for your reply. I think I was misunderstood: to be specific, Writer
displays the glyphs of GFS Artemisia, so that in Writer the two fonts look
identical but not in the Character Map as you can see from the image I
attached.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133158] New: LO Writer form controls tab order is broken

2020-05-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133158

Bug ID: 133158
Summary: LO Writer form controls tab order is broken
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: norsw...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm on LO Mac 6.4.3.2, macOS 10.15.4 (same problem in recent LO and macOS
versions)

The attached example Writer form has 207 fields (all named "Field" - see Note
1), Most fields are text boxes, and some are check boxes.

All fields have a customized tab order number (see Note 2), left-to-right,
row-by-row.

Previously (2017? 2018?), LO Writer obeyed my customized tab order. But now,
when I open my form, the tab order is random.

I discovered a temporary workaround: Form > Design Mode ON, Form > Form
Properties..., then click on the last field in each category (making no
changes), then Form > Design Mode OFF.

After that, during that LO session, tab order will be correct. But after
quitting LO and then re-opening the form, the problem returns.

The example form was created several years ago. So the problem may involve
backward compatibility. A new form created from scratch under 6.3 or 6.4 might
not have this problem.

(Note 1. In the past, LO permitted field name alphanumeric order override tab
order number. So I had to make "Field" the name of every field. Separate bug?)

(Note 2. Tab order numbers are by category. That is, Category 1: 7 fields, tab
order 101-107, Category 2: 40 fields, tab order 201-240, Category 3: 12 fields,
tab order 301-312, etc.)

Steps to Reproduce:
See Description

Actual Results:
See Description

Expected Results:
LibreOffice Writer should have obeyed my custom tab order for form controls.

Reproducible: Always

The Help system currently provides minimum information about Calc's Solvers.
See the file at
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.0/en-US/text/scalc/01/solver.html?DbPAR=CALC#bm_id7654652.

We should consider improving this aspect of the Help.

For example:
(1) Should it mention that the available Solver engines seem to be dependent on
whether you've enabled a JRE or not.
(2) The default engine isn't always a linear one (as stated in the last note of
the page).
(3) Could an example be included?
(4) Is the help page at scalc/01/solver_options.xhp accessible to a user? I
couldn't find any description on the Options dialog when I tried with the
current 7.0 help.
(5) Can we use anything from
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/nlpsolver/ to improve the help
pages?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44448] EDITING auto-update of Table of Contents, or question offered to do so at printing, is desirable

2020-05-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8

In my case, I often create many Writer documents from a file. So when I change
a header in the original file, I had to update its ToC and repeating tirelessly
every ToC of all the documents. In some cases, I can trick the header by adding
some fields so I just need to change it in the document properties. But the
story of ToC quietly different, especially when I forget to update in a hurry
situation.

Adding an option to make it updated automatically by default would not make it
cluterred. We talk about an important part of a document here. I am not sure
how this would affect performance but we have field and chart being update
automatically by default. So, set is automatic update by default would might be
no issue. Otherwise, we can set it to be updated after saving/printing.

Bug ID: 133155
Summary: LibreOffice Mangles Microsoft Word Index
   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Description:
When updating an index created in Microsoft Office, LibreOffice completely
mangles the index making it unsable.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attached docx file which has basic index (Basic Word Index - Word.docx)
with LibreOffice;
2. Right click on the index (note that the index looks fine when it's first
opened)
3. Left click "Update index"

Actual Results:
Index is completely mangled. Page margins are not respected, page numbers no
longer present for index, ellipses (...) way too long). Basically 100%
unusable.

Expected Results:
Index should maintain its data and its structure after update.

While the "Formatting (Styles)" toolbar shows a couple of character styles (and
you can add a couple more to it), the main problem is still not solved: there
is no other way to apply/see character styles other than the full style editor.
There is a lack of a control to show/apply character styles as there is for
paragraph styles. See Bug 88512 - TOOLBAR/SIDEBAR: Character style drop down
control uno command

Indeed, the "character style" control that appears under "show more buttons" in
that toolbar is only a placeholder that toggle the paragraph style control
instead.

So, I'm not sure the "worksforme" tag is appropriate here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108670] Active color in the Area tab looks like set to black when active color not defined

2020-05-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108670

Quote from bug 108669 comment 13

Opening the Area -> Color panel arriving from another Area type, especially
default 'None' mode, opens the Active Color with no actual assigned color--and
incorrect indicator of what would be assigned.

The GUI shows a Black (#ff) swatch, but with default 114, 159, 207 RGB
values for #729fcf Area fill (Old Tango: Sky Blue 1, now Light Blue 2 on
Standard palette).

Once the New color #729fcf, or another pick from pallet or custom pick made, is
applied--the GUI will refresh. If pick is made from Standard palette or
swittched to and made from another installed pallet--the indicator on the
palette swatches will show the pick.

Until a pick is made and applied the color Swatch is wrong, while the lack of
an swatch indicator on the pallet GUI--could be seen as correct, no Color has
been selected/applied yet--but would be more consistent UI to show what would
be applied.

Work on bug 108670 should resolve this with a better null color assignment,
tweaking the UI to either symbolize the null area fill.

By "quickly checks and presents the findings in that dialog", do you mean less

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 129658] for bug hunting session: old recalc issue still problem

2020-05-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129658

hi @Telesto,

a real minefield there, sure you want to step in?

iterations: repeated cycling through loops of 'cycling dependent' formulas
which - regarding that dependecies - cant be calculated 'straight forward', but
are narrowed towards a desired precision by those iterations.

used for complex dependencies (plenty roundtrips, high precision), and by some
people also as counter / running total / piggy bank (one roundtrip, low
precision),

somewhat similar to 'goal seek' and 'solver'?

types: converging - solveable, diverging - not solveable, undefined - more than
one solution,

never been working correctly in calc?

switch on:

steps: max roundtrips to perform,

minimum change: treshhold to stop iterations once changes are below, border to
show 'errr:xxx' if changes are above limit when run out of iterations,

one can either try with more iterations, or restart iterating (F9 or
ctrl-shift-F9?), first results will be kept and if precision is reached after
more attempts results are shown,

critical: start values, imho calc tries often with '0' instead what's in the
cells when you enable iterations,

critical: where in the circle to start the loop,

critical: what to do with nested loops,

nice to start: 46850, replace top row by '1's, place focus inside formula
range, and repeatedly hit F9, do often enough to see '1's converging towards
the center,

have fun ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133152] New: Writer: Background image flipped when printing from 7.0

2020-05-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133152

Bug ID: 133152
Summary: Writer: Background image flipped when printing from
7.0
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gti...@gmail.com

Background image is flipped when printing from 7.0+ in Windows. Regression.
Seen with simple *and* serial print.
Not with PDF export. Not in Linux.

Use ODT attachment 160975 label document with background images from bug
124790 and print.
For serial print, use ODS attachment 160976 [details] document with names for
the labels.

Result as PDF attachment 160980.
Should be as PDF attachment 160979 for simple print or PDF attachment 160978
for serial print.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108669] UI: The default blue area fill color isn't pre-selected in the color picker palette

Going to dupe this to bug 108670, issues are the same.
