Chris, the problem with this commit is in the following line:

MetaAction* pCurrAct <= when passing a pointer like this, you don't get back
the changed pointer, and the 'for' loop after this relies on the processed
pCurrAct.

Dear Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired),

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

(In reply to Eike Rathke from comment #19)

Comment 18 shows just how incompetent Albrecht Müller is, all that wall of text
being incorrect attempt to standardize on 1/10 of a second precision. And all
the distraction he caused in his endless comments resulted in that, being a
poor variation of the approach I suggested elsewhere to standardize on
millisecond precision for displaying times, i.e. round times to nearest
millisecond (as opposed to durations shown rounded to last shown digit),
allowing to get incorrect s/m/h/d/m/y on that boundary, and accepting it as the
trade-off. With that aggressive graphomany poured to others in multiple
time-related issues, he only consistently makes fixing everything harder by
hiding the essense (e.g., what needs documenting here) and scaring people away.
I suggest hiding his comments using spam tag.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127170] Clarify clock time (HH:MM, MM:SS, ...) and duration time ([HH]:MM, [MM]:SS, ...) formatting in help; (ignore the MM month vs minute discussion)

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127170

The last sentence in the description of my workaround: The workaround cannot
easily extended to respect fractional parts as the SECOND function is specified
to round to the nearest second.

Thus this workaround is intended for cases where you deal with whole numbers of
seconds that may contain round-off errors. This seems to be a pretty common
case. What I expect to gain is to get consistent results from the date and time
functions such as SECOND, MINUTE etc. This workaround should also fix situation
where you see calculations such as 18 minutes - 8 minutes = 9 minutes without
the need to care about the wall clock vs. duration distinction (see bug
132083). The workaround is just a by-product of the analysis I tried in
attachment 160356 (Trying to clarify clock vs duration time).

In my opinion date and time functions are closely related to formatting. Assume
you format some date and time value with no fractional part at the seconds
position. Then the value at the seconds position should be exactly the value
returned by the SECOND function for the same value. This should be true for the
other functions such as MINUTE, HOUR, DAY, MONTH and YEAR too.

In this context (ignoring the fractions of seconds) your examples show the
correct behaviour:
2020-02-02 02:02:02.99 rounded to the nearest second is 2020-02-02 02:02:03
and
2020-02-02 02:02:59.99 rounded to the nearest second is 2020-02-02 02:03:00

A few words to the results of the analysis in the attachment:

The specification of the date and time functions contains serious flaws.
Therefore I think it is impossible to implement a reasonable date and time
arithmetic that is based on this specification (see also bug 127476 comment
10). If you try you will need a scaring long help information explaining a lot
of unexpected behaviour.

Using different rounding strategies for wall clock time and durations may solve
problems of calculation such as

wall clock time - wall clock time → duration

   but not

wall clock time + duration → wall clock time

as in the latter case the round down mechanism for wall clock time will
transform tiny round-off errors into clearly visible arithmetic errors. (See
bug 131151, I could not try my workaround in this case as the ROUND function
seems not to work in text tables)

There is a rounding strategy that should work in the same way for wall clock
time as well as for durations:

1. Multiply the date and time value by the number or seconds in a day, i.e.
86400.

2. Round this value to the required number of digits in the fractional part of
the second. This step provides the best possible approximation and makes the
calculation stable against round-off errors.

3. Separate the number into an integer and a fractional part. The fractional
part is used to format the fractional part in the seconds value. The integer
part is used to calculate all date and time information such as seconds,
minutes, … year. As these calculations are based on exact integer values there
are no rounding problems in this part.

Note: You may get different integer values depending on the number of digits in
the fractional part. As a consequence _all_ date and time functions need a
parameter that tells them this number of digits. This parameter should default
to zero.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127476] Rounding behaviour of YEAR and SECOND function is inconsistent

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127476

The specification of the SECOND function:

-
6.10.16 SECOND

Summary: Extracts the second (the integer 0 through 59) from a time. This
function presumes that leap seconds never exist.

Syntax: SECOND( TimeParam T )

Returns: Number

Constraints: None

Semantics: Extract from T the second value, 0 through 59, as per a clock. Note
that this returns an integer, without a fractional part. Note also that this
rounds to the nearest second, instead of returning the integer part of the
seconds. This is equal to:

DayFraction = (T - INT(T))

HourFraction = (DayFraction * 24 - INT(DayFraction * 24))

MinuteFraction = (HourFraction * 60 - INT(HourFraction * 60))

Second = ROUND(MinuteFraction * 60)

See also MONTH 6.10.13, DAY 6.10.5, HOUR 6.10.10, MINUTE 6.10.12, INT 6.17.2
--

Assume T = 59.6/86400
DayFraction = (59.6/86400 - INT(59.6/86400))
   = 59.6/86400 - 0
   = 59.6/86400
HourFraction = ((59.6/86400) * 24 - INT((59.6/86400) * 24))
   = 59.6/3600 - INT(59.6/3600)
   = 59.6/3600 - 0
   = 59.6/3600
MinuteFraction = ((59.6/3600) * 60 - INT((59.6/3600) * 60))
   = 59.6/60 - INT(59.6/60)
   = 59.6/60 - 0
   = 59.6/60
Second = ROUND((59.6/60) * 60)
   = ROUND(59.6)
   = 60
But: "Extracts the second (the integer 0 through 59) from a time."

How is it possible to implement this specification correctly?

The second problem with this specification is that it uses different rounding
strategies for different functions. Therefore any implementation has to return
inconsistent results in certain situations.

The third is that the specified round down mechanism lets tiny round-off errors
surface as arithmetic errors.

Excel seems to use a carefully designed rounding strategy that handles the
peculiarities of the floating point representation. Maybe this works roughly in
way that I tried to explain in attachment 160356 (Trying to clarify clock vs
duration time). This analysis inspired the workaround in bug 127170 comment 18
which hopefully enables date and time functions to return consistent results.

Description:
With Track Changes on, the "Go To" page feature (triggered by clicking on the
page number in the lower/left corner) will not jump to a different page when
the editing cursor is in a comment box. Instead, the current page is
re-selected, usually resulting in a slight scrolling adjustment.

If you reposition the cursor by clicking in the document body, then Go To page
will work.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Track Changes on
2.On a page > 1, add a comment (right-click, then "Comment")
3.While still editing comment (cursor in comment box), use "Go To" modal dialog
(click on page number in lower/left corner of editor)
4. Enter page 1 (or any page different than the current)

Actual Results:
The current page just readjusts scrolling to position view at the top of the
page.

Expected Results:
The editor should show the page seleted in "Go To" modal dialog.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
When cursor is in the document body (not in a comment), "Go To" works
correctly.

I'm still unclear. Did you print to paper from the LibreOffice PDF? Printing to
PDF doesn't sound like paper, but maybe I misunderstand what you intended to
say.

This may be a more subtle problem. Okular is an interesting workaround, but it
doesn't apply to using commercial printers. Likewise, when I use the commercial
printers, I bring the PDF via sneakernet: my flash drive, thus not LO. The
problem I had occurred on both Xerox and Canon printers, multiple machine of
each brand, over a period of weeks, in different store chains (Xerox was at
Staples and Canon was at FedEx Office (formerly Kinko's)).

This is because "Thursday, 14 October 1582" is a proleptic date, which means it
is a date that is calculated as a Gregorian date before the date of its
adoption (Friday, 15 October 1582).

The "Thursday, 4 October 1582" is in fact a Julian date not a Gregorian one.

This needs to be further discussed.

Here is an idea. Pick out a new release. 7.0 will do. And do not add any new
features. Instead put your resources into fixing as many bugs as you possible
can. Once you got all the bugs fixed, then start releases with new features.
And occasionally, go bad and have another bug fix only release to catch up. If
you keep with new feature and don't fix your bugs, it is Open Office all over
again.

Created attachment 161310

Example with screenshot from Gnumeric

ODF 1.3 has the property chart:regression-moving-type with values "prior",
"center" and "averaged-abscissa". LibreOffice 7.0 does not know this property,
but always calculates as "prior", which fortunately is the default value for
this property.

But especially "averaged-abscissa" is much better than "prior". Gnumeric can
generate moving-average regression curves of type "averaged-abscissa". The
attached file contains a screenshot from Gnumeric.

My feature request is, to implement the property chart:regression-moving-type.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133408] LibreOffice crashed twice today each time I typed è into a document, using ALT+138.

Section of a draft glossary

The problem section is in the right-hand cell of the last row on p. 3 (the row
which has eskandalèz in the left-hand cell). The text in the problem cell
starts 'noisy f. (JJT 29'. It was when I was trying to insert the following
word - escalandèz - into the text and was typing the è that the system crashed
each time. (As indicated in my bug report, I managed to complete the word in
the end by copying an è from elsewhere in the text and pasting it in.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133422] New: Writer Forms Control Field Name overrides Tab Order

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133422

Bug ID: 133422
Summary: Writer Forms Control Field Name overrides Tab Order
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: norsw...@gmail.com

Description:
Please also see Bug 133158. You may want to address both tab-order issues
together.

In LO v6.2.8.2 and earlier, Field Name overrides Tab Order, so I had to name
every field as "Field". See the attached "Alpha Name" example. All fields are
named "Field" except the highlighted ones - their names are typed into in each
field.

>From "Alfa", tabbing progresses properly through Row 1. But then, tabbing skips
over tab-order 201 ("Bravo") to tab-order 202, then skips over tab-order 301
("Charlie") to tab-order 302, etc.

With Bug 133158, I cannot confirm that this problem persisted in 6.3 or 6.4.
Perhaps in Windows, where Bug 133158 does not manifest?

Steps to Reproduce:
See description

Actual Results:
See description

Expected Results:
Software should obey my tab-order numbers, not Field Name alphanumeric order

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Software let Field Name alphanumeric order override Tab Order

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133294] FILESAVE EPUB Enhancement for styles with page breaks

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133294

I agree that splitting on heading is most logical, and it works fine for most
of the document. The problem I run into is when I try to make Title styling
show the title of an ebook on a separate page.

Just to clarify...

I do this:
Right-click Title styling and choose Modify.
Enter 3.0" Spacing Above Paragraph on the Indents & Spacing tab.
Check Insert Break, type: Page, Position: After from the Text Flow tab.

This gives me a title page where the title stands on its own, pushed toward the
vertical center of my page. No other text flows onto the page.

It outputs this way for ODF, and PDF (probably others as well) but EPUB ignores
the "Insert Break, type: Page, Position: After" from the Text Flow tab.

To me, they should all look the same, and I can achieve that by manually adding
page-break-after: always; in the right place in stylesheet.css. That's the
reason for my enhancement request.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133420] Release Notes for removal of trend lines for ODF 1.2 missing

Moving average properties are written in loext namespace in case of save to
"ODF 1.2 extended" in
Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: 0e5e935deb0527c64865cfcc53a0421e56b74b6f
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18362; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

That is correct in principle. But neither LO 6.4.3 nor LO 7.0 can read it.

Hi,

I just downloaded the LibreOffice AppImage, and had to search a lot for the
public key, until i finally did this:

$ gpg2 --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --search-keys libreoffice.org

And even then, the result was this:

$ gpg2 --verify LibreOffice-still.standard-x86_64.AppImage.asc

gpg: asumiendo que los datos firmados están en
'LibreOffice-still.standard-x86_64.AppImage'

Huellas dactilares de la clave primaria: DA5E 52F8 C6C9 DC6F 1473 E903 D476

So, i don't see how is this fixed. It's supposed to bring trust, otherwise why
not just publish the SHA256, that at least is easy to verify, and doesn't shows
warnings everywhere?

Regards

After reading infos from LO help [1], I would disagree, because others perhaps
prefer split after heading. But I'm not familiar with that topic, so let's ask

Ah, good catch: it does make a difference. Apparently it is about having the
Properties deck visible specifically. With 7.0 I happened to have a different
deck and this was the reason the lag did not show. Do you know of an existing

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133260

Yes. It looks like an inline array (unlike a cell range reference) as argument
where a scalar value is expected would force array mode of the entire formula
expression. Question remains what happens if it is not an inline array but an
array/matrix returned from a function that itself is not in a forced array
context. The results of these examples could be interesting:

=SUM(ABS(MUNIT(2)))

=SUM(ABS(MUNIT(2)*-1))

If both behave the same as with the inline array the result should be 2 for
both, otherwise 1 (for one or both expressions).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127170] Clarify clock time (HH:MM, MM:SS, ...) and duration time ([HH]:MM, [MM]:SS, ...) formatting in help; (ignore the MM month vs minute discussion)

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127170

First, you may have overlooked that this now since some time (last year) is a
Documentation request to clarify the current implementation and difference of
wall clock / timestamp formats and duration formats. Talking about other means
of how date+time could or could not be implemented in this bug thus is not
helpful at all as it just confuses everyone, especially not so technically
inclined, even more who actually wanted to write a documentation / help
section. Your previous overly lengthy comments from April probably already
scared everyone away.

However..

(In reply to Albrecht Müller from comment #18)
> Assume that t is some floating point number that is used to represent some
> point in time. Then this value is mapped to (round(t*86400) + 0.1)/86400
You don't gain anything by that, it would just introduce errors at other
places. For examples: (output using -MM-DD HH:MM:SS.00 wall clock format
that does not round)

Input: 2020-02-02
Date serial number: 43863
Your calculation applied: 43863.011574
Formatted output: 2020-02-02 00:00:00.10

So far, almost good, *if* ignoring the fractional second *if* no such number
format or calculation asking for it is involved.

Input: 2020-02-02 02:02:02.99
Date serial number: 43863.0847568287
Your calculation applied: 43863.0847581019
Formatted output: 2020-02-02 02:02:03.10

=> bad second value and bad 100th value.

Input: 2020-02-02 02:02:59.99
Date serial number: 43863.0854165509
Your calculation applied: 43863.0854178241
Formatted output: 2020-02-02 02:03:00.10

=> bad minute value and bad second value and bad 100th value.

... and so on.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133294] FILESAVE EPUB Enhancement for styles with page breaks

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133294

Using split on pagebreak instead of split on header makes the output look
exactly like I would expect. Thank you for that suggestion.

However, I would consider this a workaround and would still like to request the
enhancement. My reasoning is this:

1) As an ebook author, I should not need to concern myself with the internals
of the EPUB format to the point of knowing how it divides up the XHTML files
inside the archive. It's not intuitive.

2) page-break-after: always; and page-break-before: always; are fully supported
in the EPUB 3 specification. Why not map Writer's break before/after style
options to those directly?

I think of it like this:

I have a line of text, "Section Title", that I've styled as a title in Writer.
The EPUB xhtml should have something like Section
Title
The EPBU css should contain "title { page-break-before: always; }", if I've
specified a break after in Writer, along with any other corresponding styling
I've used when modifying the style.

Thanks again for maintaining such a wonderful open source product and for
giving me a workaround to my current dilemma. Your time and effort is much
appreciated.

Thanks for the file. I confirm the observed behaviour. But AFAIK statusbar
shows number of the words and characters, that are selected (and that are of
course the search results). So perhaps it won't be trivial to display search
results, if no word and character is selected.

So let's add design team for further opinion.

Confirmed on different Xubuntu 20.04/ibreOffice 6.4.3.2 fully-updated system.
Form Wizard failed as described.

Ran again on same system using built LibreOffice 7.0.0.alpha1+ right after the
above on same DB. Form Wizard worked fine. Seems to be fixed but this seems
to imply not a Ubuntu package issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133417] New: EDITING: Insert checkbox easily as in Google Sheets

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133417

Bug ID: 133417
Summary: EDITING: Insert checkbox easily as in Google Sheets
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: om...@yahoo.com

Description:
In Google Sheets there's an option in the menu: Insert -> Checkbox. Checkbox is
inserted in current cell, is clickable and may be evaluated by cell reference
as TRUE (activated) or FALSE (deactivated).

In LibO it's necessary to go to menu View -> Toolbars -> Form Design -> Design
Mode -> Insert Checkbox -> Drag with mouse -> Right click in Checkbox -> Anchor
to cell -> Right click in Checkbox -> Properties -> Linked cell -> Manually
link cell -> Hide cell content (to no overlap checkbox) -> Design Mode -> View
-> Toolbars > Form Design

Steps to Reproduce:
1.View
2.Toolbars
3.Form Design
4.Activate Design Mode
5.Click Checkbox
6.Drag with mouse within correct cell
7.Right click in Checkbox
8.Anchor to cell
9.Right click in Checkbox
10.Properties
11.Linked cell
12.Manually link cell
13.Hide cell content (to not overlap checkbox)
14.Deactivate Design Mode
15.View
16.Toolbars
17.Hide Form Design

To create a checkbox in every cell it has to be done manually, one by one,
reproducing the steps from 5 to 13. If copied and pasted needs to be edited to
change its name.

Actual Results:
Checkbox is inserted, linked to a cell, clickable.
Checkbox can't be resized only text.

Expected Results:
In Google Sheets is so easy to do, only two steps!:
1.Insert
2.Checkbox

Checkbox is inserted in current cell, is clickable and may be evaluated by cell
reference as TRUE (activated) or FALSE (deactivated).

To create a checkbox in every cell it may be copied and pasted to a group of
cells, to all cells in a row or all cells in a column.

Checkbox may be resized adjusting font size.

It could be a property or content of a cell, this way it's not necessary to go
through Form Controls.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133300] Please add the ability to search for Page Styles

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133300

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #3)
> First page has style "Left page", second after manual break "Right page".
> Ctrl+H > Attributes... = Page Style > Find = Right page, Replace = Left page
> => neither Find nor Replace work. So the point is that we actually have the
> feature but it's not working as expected.

This is misconception.

Searching for attributes is not meant to work like you imagined: setting a
checkmark to an attribute, then put the wanted attribute values into
Find/Replace boxes. That would, e.g., be meaningless if you check several
attributes... The feature allows searching for *text* defined in the Find box,
which has the attributes selected that simply differ from default. See help [1]
for details.

A different thing is that actually selecting "Page style" attribute doesn't
seem to work anyway.

Note also that page style is a setting of a paragraph (style), so searching for
"page style" would only make sense when searching for paragraphs ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97694] Base macros cannot be digitally signed

2020-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97694

--- Comment #26 from Freischreiber <8...@gmx.net> ---
Oh I see, the macros must be part of the document, so that LO can sign them,
not part of the My Macros library container. (!)

I was convinced LO cannot do that, since all my macros are in the library
container...

A little bit off-topic, but: Why does LO forget the signature of macros in a
template file when a document is produced from it? The macros are exported to
the document, but the signature is lost...

Thank you.
