https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97916 --- Comment #6 from QA Administrators --- Dear Erich Spitzer, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133782] [EDITING] Add option to stop absolutely all autoconversion of non-numeric characters into numerics
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133782 --- Comment #2 from zzz --- I forgot to mention that my Language Of | User interface setting is English (USA), and Locale settings is "Japanese". Re:>V Stuart Foote 2020-06-08 14:22:23 UTC >I'll take your word it is undesirable for ja-JA usage Correct, if that means the data locale. If you mean Language Of | User interface, then I don't want Calc to change any data handling behaviour by UI settings. Sorry that I wasn't clear enough, and thanks for confirming. >when I set the language for the cell to Japanese Do you mean the Format Cells | Asian Text Font | Language ? One modification to my request: I observe a lot of Japanese language users mistakenly enter the so-called "wide" characters in cell formulae. Excel cells autoconverts these to ASCII, so many users keep this habit. (a) "wide" numbers, "0123456789" (U+FF1x) in places of numbers. Excel cells autoconverts this to numbers (both from keyboard IME and from paste). LibreOffice Calc already does this. (b)Similary, many users enter "wide" symbols and letters such as "=A2" to mean ASCII formula "=A2", "’A" to mean ASCII literal "'A" etc. Excel response differs whether they are from keyboard into cell, or into edit bar, or pasted into cell! LibreOffice Calc does no conversion. I personally don't do and don't like these (especially the random conversions in literals), but think some people may want LibreOffice Calc to behave similarly to Excel. This means we need two or more independent option entries to toggle autoconvert: (a)"0123456789": default=autoconvert (b)"=A2": default=autoconvert (c)"’A": default=autoconvert Excel compatible (d)"〇": default=no convert For a tentative solution only for me, just turn off the "〇"->0 autoconversion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107385] Autofilter sorting breaks rows data alignment without warning

Please, drop it, this is not the place to learn how to do backups. If you want to keep on arguing about this you'd better write to me in private. > > 4) Select Data/Autofilter, to setup autofilter labels on A and B, but not C. > > 5) Click on the A lable > > 6) Select Sort/Descending (or Ascending, depending on how you sorted data > > in > > the first place) > > > Actual Results: > > Only the A and B column get sorted, while the C column sticks to the > > original > sorting. Raws data > > alignment is broken. Big mess. > > what do you expect calc to do after you explicitly! told it to work on > columns A and B ??? No I didn't. The autofilter column menu item that I selected doesn't say "Sort all and only autofiltered column ascending/descending". It reads "Sort ascending/descending". Full stop. The expected behaviour is the standard applied to any other command with the same "Sort ascending/descending" indication: apply sort to what I selected, and issue a warning when "The cells next to the current selection also contain data". >From the help file: | The AutoFilter function inserts a combo box on one or more data columns that | lets you select the records (rows) to be displayed. It says "select RECORDS". What Calc programmers fail to understand is that the integrity of the record is sacred. The program should NEVER brake the integrity of a record, unless the user EXPLICITLY told it to do that. They ignore this rule and they cause users' data loss. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133809 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote --- Actually, before this goes ANY further--please take the time to read the Draw Guide (it has not been updated since the 4.3 release but is still applicable). https://documentation.libreoffice.org/assets/Uploads/Documentation/en/DG4.3/DG43-DrawGuide.pdf And specifically Chpt. 11 Advanced Draw Techniques which covers use of the 'Layers bar' and its three 'default' layers. Suffice to say, Layers in LibreOffice function a lot different than other Vector/Raster editing programs in common use--and that the Layer bar is not Z-order sensitive nor are its layers 'groupable'. There have been a lot of improvement requests about the Drawing UI, but the underlaying framework and ODF dictate a lot about what is appropriate. Point is there is no sense banging away at the Layer bar without understanding how LibreOffice Draw handles layers. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->Modify... Turn Footers ON; click OK 5. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->New... Actual Results: The resulting New style does not have Footers on. Expected Results: The New style, created from the 'Default Style', should inherit local changes to the Default Style (I assume; if not, the docs should be clarified) Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Same thing happens with margins, not just Footer on/off. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128006] Macro warning dialog is prompted on every function or sub call (see comment 4)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128006 --- Comment #14 from Caolán McNamara --- It was a deliberate change (due to the flood of CVE-2019-9848, CVE-2019-9852, CVE-2019-9851, CVE-2019-9850, CVE-2019-9853, CVE-2019-9855 and CVE-2019-9854) to warn about documents that merely *call* macros equivalently to documents that *contain* macros. In this case I suspect the approach of comment #5, adding a trusted document location and using it for the trusted odb, is something that should have worked. Maybe it doesn't work because the forms are inside a .odb that itself is inside the trusted location, so my first instinct is to see if that could be made work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
