2020-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133810

Bug ID: 133810
Summary: I can't suppress double-sided printing even if I turn
off the option
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chang-...@umin.ac.jp

Description:
On LibreOffice Writer, I print a textfile. On the print setting, I turned the
dubplex printing option off. However, the printing is done in double-sided
printing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In the printer property, turn the duplex print to 'off' or 'ignore'
2. print a file
3. It is still printed double-sided

Actual Results:
Double-sided printing.

Expected Results:
Single-sided printing

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The printer option setting should properly work.

getting into this buggy mud when I left Microsoft's software.

Dear Erich Spitzer,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133782] [EDITING] Add option to stop absolutely all autoconversion of non-numeric characters into numerics

I forgot to mention that my Language Of | User interface setting is English
(USA), and Locale settings is "Japanese".

Re:>V Stuart Foote 2020-06-08 14:22:23 UTC
   >I'll take your word it is undesirable for ja-JA usage
Correct, if that means the data locale. If you mean Language Of | User
interface, then I don't want Calc to change any data handling behaviour by UI
settings.
Sorry that I wasn't clear enough, and thanks for confirming.

  >when I set the language for the cell to Japanese
Do you mean the Format Cells | Asian Text Font | Language ?

One modification to my request:
I observe a lot of Japanese language users mistakenly enter the so-called
"wide" characters in cell formulae. Excel cells autoconverts these to ASCII, so
many users keep this habit.
(a) "wide" numbers, "0123456789" (U+FF1x) in places of numbers. Excel cells
autoconverts this to numbers (both from keyboard IME and from paste).
LibreOffice Calc already does this.
(b)Similary, many users enter "wide" symbols and letters such as "=A2" to mean
ASCII formula "=A2", "’A" to mean ASCII literal "'A" etc.
Excel response differs whether they are from keyboard into cell, or into edit
bar, or pasted into cell! LibreOffice Calc does no conversion.
I personally don't do and don't like these (especially the random conversions
in literals), but think some people may want LibreOffice Calc to behave
similarly to Excel.
This means we need two or more independent option entries to toggle
autoconvert:
(a)"0123456789": default=autoconvert
(b)"=A2": default=autoconvert
(c)"’A": default=autoconvert Excel compatible
(d)"〇": default=no convert

For a tentative solution only for me, just turn off the "〇"->0 autoconversion.

> columns A and B ???

No I didn't. The autofilter column menu item that I selected doesn't say "Sort
all and only autofiltered column ascending/descending". It reads "Sort
ascending/descending". Full stop. The expected behaviour is the standard
applied to any other command with the same "Sort ascending/descending"
indication: apply sort to what I selected, and issue a warning when "The cells
next to the current selection also contain data".

>From the help file:
| The AutoFilter function inserts a combo box on one or more data columns that
| lets you select the records (rows) to be displayed.

It says "select RECORDS". What Calc programmers fail to understand is that the
integrity of the record is sacred. The program should NEVER brake the integrity
of a record, unless the user EXPLICITLY told it to do that. They ignore this
rule and they cause users' data loss. This is not the only case, also see bug
107779.

I think we do not need another bug. The problems are already covered by bug
90244, bug 90320, bug 89130, and bug 56498 and their duplicates.
And look at bug 99648 "[META] Improve Layer Handling", whether your ideas not
already reported.

Which applications do you have in mind? Remember, that layers in Draw do not
determine the stacking order.

Renaming the label "Layout" to something different is a task of the translation
teams. Only the English string is in source (sd/inc/strings.hrc).
But keep in mind, that you need very good reasons to rename something that has
its name already for twenty years.

> 2. remove Controls and Dimension Line cause you can add new layers (like in
> calc) but you can't delete the predefined one (Controls and Dimension Line
> can't be deleted)

I have already looked, whether it is possible to get rid of these two layers.
But there are so many internal consequences to the code that I've refrained
from trying.

You can use click+Shift (hide/show), click+Ctrl (lock/unlock) and
click+Shift+Ctrl (printable/not printable).

Actually, before this goes ANY further--please take the time to read the Draw
Guide (it has not been updated since the 4.3 release but is still applicable).

https://documentation.libreoffice.org/assets/Uploads/Documentation/en/DG4.3/DG43-DrawGuide.pdf

And specifically Chpt. 11 Advanced Draw Techniques which covers use of the
'Layers bar' and its three 'default' layers.

Suffice to say, Layers in LibreOffice function a lot different than other
Vector/Raster editing programs in common use--and that the Layer bar is not
Z-order sensitive nor are its layers 'groupable'.

There have been a lot of improvement requests about the Drawing UI, but the
underlaying framework and ODF dictate a lot about what is appropriate.

Point is there is no sense banging away at the Layer bar without understanding
how LibreOffice Draw handles layers. Please read the documentation.

In general it's not very common to have layers arranged that way ordinary you
have layers arranged in a list grouped by folders and you can show/hide them
with an symbol or lock them by an symbol.

So my proposal for the layer tabbed bar on bottom of draw is:

1. rename at least Layout to Layer1, so that it's easier to understood that we
talk about layers (in calc you also call them Sheet1).

2. remove Controls and Dimension Line cause you can add new layers (like in
calc) but you can't delete the predefined one (Controls and Dimension Line
can't be deleted)

3. move settings for Visible, Printable and Locked to the right click so if you
would like to use them you don't need an dialog to hide or lock the layer.

yes I mean the tab bar which I wrote layer line.

In general I think it would be a good idea to use the tab bar (layer line) but
it's not that simple and intuitive to use.

I'll close this bug and write a new one for make the layer line more usable
(BUG 133809).

The request is to improve the separator so it's only one request. For the
toolbars I wrote Bug 133691

this very faint line is no big showstopper but it's there and shouldn't be
there cause the line has any usage.

> And you talk about two horizontal separator lines at the bottom, which I
> cannot confirm.

One horizontal separator line come from the sidebar (cause the sidebar has an
frame line around it) and the second one come from the status bar cause the
statusbar has an separator line on top.

A misunderstanding, but partly my fault. The revised attachment (please open)
makes this clearer.

I'm talking about adding a Heading or introductory text on the first page of
the Endnotes, just before the Endnotes start—and not actually in the Header
area, itself. Currently this does not appear to be possible.

@Telesto, the attachment 161773 seems to have had its formatting scrambled--the
header row has been split. Not sure you've got a viable test document to work
against. When I clean it up and get the header row back in place, and remove
the multiple filters already applied (clearing the AutoFilter) I've no issue
filtering against column the H "HONORAIROS CIRUJANO" values.

Also if that is actual real world data, there is a privacy issue as the
document does not belong on the TDF BZ instance-- Stuart

Space should be possible, but it seems to be a Windows-only issue (see
additional screenshot from macOS attached). Removing separators should be
possible as well.

Moving the arrow inside input line will cause problems with other widget sets
(e.g. GTK, Carbon/Cocoa) as they are using thinner scrollbars than Windows.
This would bring back the original issue with an input line appropriate for
different widget set.

I will look at spacing but keep arrow outside input line as is. As I'm capable
to build on macOS and Linux only, who is able to build and test on Windows?

Version: 7.0.0.0.beta1 (x64)

Impress adds the undo "Transform Image" to the Edit menu, but it ignores it if
you use it.

Additionally I noted a weird issue:
Undo keeps the last status of "Keep ratio" setting, even if you close the
document without saving.
Impress 'can't forget' the last status if you close document (without closing
Impress) and then reopen the ODP again.

1. Open file
2. "Position and Size"
>Status "Keep Ratio: OFF"
3. Enable it
4. Click OK
7. Close Impress) without savin
8. Open file again
9. "Position and Size"
> Status is now "Keep Ratio: ON"
10. Disable it
11. Click okay
14. Close document without saving
15. Open file again ...

Now "Keep Ratio" is off again. And so on

I attach a screencast

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133806] New: New page style does not inherit

2020-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133806

Bug ID: 133806
Summary: New page style does not inherit
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm not sure this is a bug, but as I read the docs a New style created from an
existing style should inherit the properties of the existing style. That
doesn't seem to happen, at least with Page styles.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a new Writer document
2. View->Styles (F11)
3. Click the icon for PAGE styles (4th icon over for me)
4. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->Modify...
 Turn Footers ON; click OK
5. Rightclick on 'Default Style'->New...

Actual Results:
The resulting New style does not have Footers on.

Expected Results:
The New style, created from the 'Default Style', should inherit local changes
to the Default Style (I assume; if not, the docs should be clarified)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Same thing happens with margins, not just Footer on/off.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128006] Macro warning dialog is prompted on every function or sub call (see comment 4)

2020-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128006

It was a deliberate change (due to the flood of CVE-2019-9848, CVE-2019-9852,
CVE-2019-9851, CVE-2019-9850, CVE-2019-9853, CVE-2019-9855 and CVE-2019-9854)
to warn about documents that merely *call* macros equivalently to documents
that *contain* macros.

In this case I suspect the approach of comment #5, adding a trusted document
location and using it for the trusted odb, is something that should have
worked. Maybe it doesn't work because the forms are inside a .odb that itself
is inside the trusted location, so my first instinct is to see if that could be
made work.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133805] New: default csv separator location specific

2020-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133805

Bug ID: 133805
Summary: default csv separator location specific
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rupert.thur...@gmail.com

in many european countries the decimal separater is a comma, not a dot.
therefor the default CVS separator character is a semicolon. it can be set in
libreoffice calc in a quite hidden way, described e.g. here:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/201076/csv-default-separator/

Tools -> Options - LibreOffice -> Advanced - Button: Open Expert Configuration
and search for FieldSeparator

it would be nice if LC_NUMERIC or LC_MONETARY is something non english to use
semicolon as default.

second advantage is that this then would be more compatible with microsoft
excel, and also be more compatible with public upload APIs in europe.

Bibisected with win32-6.2 to
https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/86dfa34c6d83b70923d462fecad316dafd9a1fc4%5E!/
Upgrade to ICU 62.1

So "nobody's fault". I also checked and automatic spellchecking does not have
an effect on/off.

=
This is the 2nd time I have updraded to 6.4 LO from 6.3. Both 6.43 & 6.44 CALC
crash on simple tasks. This case, I copied some delimited data from a web page
and pasted into Calc, formated it, cleaned it up and when I tried to save it
CRASH! Several times over & over. I will go back to 6.3 and not have the
problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 133706] FILESAVE DOCX: Header footer text gone after export

2020-06-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133706

So IsPlausableSingleWordSection is failing because StrictEqualTopBottom is
false. The "First page" style has a _slightly_ larger header because the
fontsize is 12. The "Default paage" style uses fontsize 10.

I didn't know bugzilla forced libreoffice to use it. What I described still
stands.

Steps to reproduce for this regression

- Open my test-sort file and press CTRL+F to search for number 3.
- Click on Find all.
- in the Search Result window click on Cell line to show the arrow.

- The arrow is not there
- In fact the arrow should appear.

If the Debian repo version has no update dialog, then it is obvious I must be
using a different version. Still, its upgrade system did not work. The
version did go to a lower number.

Confirm, there was an arrow to sort the column.

See image the black arrow.

Tried both with File - Export and File - Save as and it works fine for me.

I did plenty of research; I did what your software said to do. That it does
not work is not my problem.
