[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134353] New: CRASH When Using Find (Search) on Particular Spreadsheet

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134353

Bug ID: 134353
Summary: CRASH When Using Find (Search) on Particular
Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mpearso...@yahoo.com

Description:
LibreOffice: 6.3.6.2
Mac OS: 10.15.5

I have a relatively large spreadsheet file (~300 columns x ~150 rows) created
by hand to track meals I've had. I've used it for years. It grows slowly.
Starting within the last few months, anytime I do a "find" action on the
spreadsheet, LibreOffice crashes.

Facts:
- It did not happen months ago. I think it's unlikely that my minor hand-edits
of the document in the last few months introduced an issue in the document.
It's likely a change in LibreOffice. I have not attempted to revert to a
version that works. (My computer is managed and I do not have a setup where I
can install arbitrary software of arbitrary versions.)
- This crash is reproducible. LibreOffice always crashes when I try the find
"action".
- The crash happens regardless of whether the text I'm looking for is present
in the document ("pizza") or not ("asiuvkljssl").
- The crash happens if LibreOffice is launched in safe mode.
- The crash does not happen on my other spreadsheet files.
- I have not tried reproducing on other platforms.

I would appreciate a fix for the bug, as it's hard to navigate a spreadsheet
this large without searching.

I am willing to share the spreadsheet with interested LibreOffice contributors.
However, I do not want to post it publicly, which is why I'm not attaching it
here at this time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the spreadsheet in question.
2. Press control-f or select Edit -> Find
3. Type something in the box and press enter or click the magnifying glass
icon.

Actual Results:
4. LibreOffice crashes and offers to restart and recover the file. (It does
this successfully.)

Expected Results:
4. LibreOffice scrolls to the cell that has the matching text.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134352] New: Skia engine leaves scaled raster images far blurrier than does hardware rendering

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 134352
Summary: Skia engine leaves scaled raster images far blurrier
than does hardware rendering
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mwtjunkm...@gmail.com

Description:
This https://i.imgur.com/0NP4IJ8.png is three exports from the same LO Draw
document.

The top image is output using hardware rendering with anti-aliasing.
The middle image is output using SKIA without anti-aliasing.
The bottom image is output using SKIA with anti-aliasing.

I have always been used to the output quality of the top image. I'm quite
surprised of the level of degradation in scaling SKIA puts out.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LO Draw
2. Import or copy/paste a large raster image
3. Scale the image down until it's about 1/4 to 1/5 the original size
4. Export a PNG three times using different output methods
4a. hardware with anti-aliasing
4b. Skia with anti-aliasing
4c. Skia without anti-aliasing

Actual Results:
Only the hardware rendering option produced a crisp image. Skia-rendered scaled
raster images are unacceptably blurry

Expected Results:
The skia output option should produce as equally crisp images as hardware
rendering.

Reproducible: Always

How to make Base fail with Time field in a MySQL DB.

(1) Create a table column of type Time in an MySQL table with format HH:MM:SS.
(2) Create a stored procedure that totals the time for all the rows that have
time date entered.
(3) Create a Base form for this MySQL table.
(4) In the Base Form, choose Column for the Time column.
(5) The only option that includes the 3 elements of time (HH:MM:SS) is
13:45:00.
(6) Choose 13:45:00.
(7) Enter data in a number of rows where the the hours a zero, the minutes are
less than 60, and the seconds are also less than 60.
(8) Execute the stored procedure that calculates the total time.
(9) The results calculated are incorrect because the time is being shifted as
well as being calculated incorrectly.

Dear Runspect,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134350] New: Wrong fonts used in right-side quote and space characters when Chinese and English characters are Mixed

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134350

Bug ID: 134350
Summary: Wrong fonts used in right-side quote and space
characters when Chinese and English characters are
Mixed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

Created attachment 162464
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=162464=edit
Chinese and English mixed.odt

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy and paste (or type mannually) the following into Writer, as
un-formatted text:
中文 abc 中文
中文“abc”中文
中文‘abc’中文

You may set the Default Style's Asian font to "Noto Serif CJK SC" and increase
the font size, for better identification.

Current Behaviour:
The space or quote at the left side of each paragraph (i.e., following the
Chiense characters) is using Asian font, while the quote at the right side
(i.e., following the English characters) is using Western font.

Expected:
The font used for both the left quote and right quote should be the same - in
this case it should be using the Chinese font, because the quotes typed-in is
actually full-width Chinese quotation.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134349] New: LO Draw layers set invisible and not to print still exports its contents

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134349

Bug ID: 134349
Summary: LO Draw layers set invisible and not to print still
exports its contents
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mwtjunkm...@gmail.com

Description:
LO Draw layers set invisible and not to print still exports its contents.

Here, https://i.imgur.com/6te0nRV.png, the square is on a layer set to be
invisible and not to export:

https://i.imgur.com/9VVI27b.png

Also, the layer that is flagged invisible / do not print not only exports, but
still renders on its page thumbnail:

https://i.imgur.com/kuOCxCK.png

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LO draw
2. Create two layers
3. On one layer, draw any shape
4. On the other layer, draw another shape
5. Set one of the layers as invisible and not to print:
   https://i.imgur.com/9VVI27b.png

Actual Results:
The thumbnail for the page renders content on the invisible layers.
Graphical exports (I tested PNG & TIFF) include the invisible / non-printing
layer

Expected Results:
Invisible, non-printing layers should neither contribute to their page's
thumbnail nor appear when exported as PNG/TIFF/other graphical format.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I only tested with SKIA, not hardware rendering.

Version: 7.0.0.0.beta2 (x64)

Hi, Mike! Sorry for the late reply.

I did try installation using the following products and environment:

* LibreOffice 6.4.4.2, 7.0.0.0 Beta 1 and 7.0.0.0 Beta 2, all of them 64 bits;
* Windows 10, version 1909, 64 bits (AMD64);
* Volume C: is on a SSD;
* Volume D: is on a HDD;
* Volume Z: is on an external HDD;
* C:\Windows\Installer is a symbolic link to D:\Windows\Installer, a folder
path with exactly the same security permissions on each folder level as the
original C:\Windows\Installer folder path (even the D:\ folder has the same
security permissions as the C:\ folder);
* The environment variable %USERPROFILE% is "D:\Users\Administrator" (without
quotes);
* Anything else is not modified as the system was reset (opened Settings,
Update and Security, Recovery, Restore this PC) and, on the first login on the
machine, pressed CTRL+SHIFT+F3 to enter Windows Audit Mode (a special mode so
all software can be installed before anything else on the system is installed
after the first user first login);
* I put the arguments [/Passive /NoRestart] inside brackets to make clear that
they are to be used normally on my install scripts, but I did not use them and
just selected Next, Next, Install as if they were used so the error message
would be shown.

The commands I used when testing, on exact order, are (remove the asterisks and
don't use the lines starting with hyphens):

* On the first boot of Windows, I pressed CTRL+SHIFT+F3, then executed cmd.exe
and proceeded doing the following commands:
* RoboCopy.exe "%SystemRoot%" "D:\Windows" /Copy:ATSOU /R:0
* RoboCopy.exe "%SystemRoot%" "D:\Windows" /Copy:ATSOU /SecFix /R:0
* RoboCopy.exe "%SystemRoot%\Installer" "D:\Windows\Installer" /Copy:ATSOU /Mir
/MovE
-- These three commands creates an empty "D:\Windows" folder with the same
permissions as the "C:\Windows" folder, then moves the C:\Windows\Installer
folder, its contents, and copy the security permissions to its new location.
It is important to run them all as RoboCopy does not copy the security
permissions from \Windows if it is not run again with the /SecFix argument, but
it works for the \Windows\Installer folder without using /SecFix.
* MkLink /j "%SystemRoot%\Installer" "D:\Windows\Installer"
-- This command creates a junction point from C:\Windows\Installer to
D:\Windows\Installer / to create a symbolic link, use "/d" instead of "/j".

For LibreOffice 6.4.4.2 64 bits installation, I run the following commands:

* MsiExec.exe /Package Z:\Compartilhada\Torrents\LibreOffice_6.4.4_Win_x64.msi
/Passive /NoRestart
-- This command completed correctly and installed LibreOffice 6.4.4.2. For
some unknown reason, Windows Installer (msiserver) service kept running.

* MsiExec.exe /Uninstall
Z:\Compartilhada\Torrents\LibreOffice_6.4.4_Win_x64.msi /Passive /NoRestart
-- This command completely uninstalled LibreOffice 6.4.4.2. Windows Installer
(msiserver) service still kept running.

* MsiExec.exe /A Z:\Compartilhada\Torrents\LibreOffice_6.4.4_Win_x64.msi
TARGETDIR="D:\LO644" [/Passive /NoRestart -- this is the same as selecting
Next, Next, Next, Install]
-- This command is intended to extract the .msi contents to D:\LO644 folder,
which results in a smaller .msi package that will be cached at
C:\Windows\Installer folder (the drawback is it will ask for the source files
or the original full .msi package when doing repairs or installing extra
components -- which is rare after install). Sometimes this command completes
as expected and sometimes it does not. When it does not work, Windows
Installer throws the following error message "Error 1314. Specified path
C:\Windows\Installer\Config.Msi is unavailable" (translated from PT-BR to
EN-US). After erasing the folder C:\Windows\Installer\Config.Msi **and**
C:\Config.Msi (running "rd /s /q C:\Windows\Installer\Config.Msi
C:\Config.Msi", without quotes), then the command completed correctly. Maybe
erasing those two folders before trying to run this command will make it always
work.

* MsiExec.exe /Package "D:\LO644\LibreOffice_6.4.4_Win_x64.msi" [/Passive
/NoRestart -- this is the same as selecting Next, Next, Next, Install]
-- This command was supposed to install LibreOffice from the extracted sources
from the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134346] SVG graphics in LO Draw lose fidelity when using SKIA

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134346

It's definitely something going on with the border property on the SVG. The
boy scout SVG logo that I mentioned originally didn't have borders, just fills,
so it appeared fine.

After adding borders to it, the logo did not render properly in Skia
(unaffected using hardware rendering).

I don't understand this bug report.

First, give us explicit and specific reproduction instruction. Which
application and what we're supposed to do with it.

Second, I'm seeing drop-down boxes with a down triangle, e.g. in LO 7.0b2. Is
the bug something new with v7.1 ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134347] New: Total word count error

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134347

Bug ID: 134347
   Summary: Total word count error
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gmart...@shaw.ca

Description:
Opening some docs the word count in the lower bar shows an error. Commonly the
sum of 914 words is shown despite the real count being in the thousands.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open file!
2.Word count settles on 914
3.Select all settles on 10,252 (assumed accurate)
Version: 6.3.6.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2196df99b074d8a661f4036fca8fa0cbfa33a497
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-CA (en_CA); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Actual Results:
Word count is incorrect. When select all is taken off total immediately reverts
to 914 no matter what the correct total is and we're talking in some cases
30,000 or so words.

Expected Results:
This is annoying. As a writer the word count is often of critical importance to
me for work purposes. I am often limited in what I can publish numbers wise.
This started to show up after the previous update 6.3.5

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134346] New: SVG graphics in LO Draw lose fidelity when using SKIA

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134346

Bug ID: 134346
Summary: SVG graphics in LO Draw lose fidelity when using SKIA
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mwtjunkm...@gmail.com

Description:
I create scaleable vector graphic files (SVGs) in InkScape and then import them
into LO Draw, usually for logos and such.

I noticed that if I scale down an SVG in LO draw when using SKIA, the borders
crap out. This does not happen using hardware rendering. It's readily apparent
not only in the exported PNG files but when viewing the SVGs in LO in both
rendering modes.

This https://i.imgur.com/G79XokV.png is a side-by-side comparison of the two
exports. On the left is Skia, on the right is hardware rendering. Not much
difference on the larger SVG object, but compare the two smaller SVGs. The
smaller the SVG, the worse the rendering gets on the SVG's borders.

Not all SVGs are affected. I have a boy scout logo that imports and resizes
just fine, but some of the other logos (I just created a random shape for this
example) don't work, and I don't know the difference, or why Skia renders some
poorly while hardware rendering is fine with all of the SVG files.

Not to distract from this bug, but my bug 117160 doesn't occur when using SKIA,
just with hardware rendering.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import an SVG file that has visible borders.
2. Scale the SVG file fairly small.
3. Select Skia as the rendering type.

Actual Results:
Borders don't render appropriately https://i.imgur.com/XW4eYi8.png

Expected Results:
Borders render appropriately https://i.imgur.com/Vta9bII.png

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134345] New: improve instructions for installing Offline Help in LO Help Not Installed dialog box

2020-06-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium

Created attachment 162459

Help menu > LibreOffice Help dialog box

MS Windows 10, in any LibreOffice app the Help menu > LibreOffice Help dialog
box "LibreOffice Help Not Installed" gives the following suggestions about
Offline Help:
"You may either install it from our website or your system’s repositories, or
read an online version."

The feature request is to include a link to more explicit instructions on how
to install Offline Help:
"You may either download and install it from *here* or your system’s
repositories, or read an online version."
Where *here* contains a link to the download for this LO version, e.g.
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/6.4.4/win/x86_64/LibreOffice_6.4.4_Win_x64_helppack_en-US.msi

Alternative suggestions:
1) Add a button to install it directly
2) Include Offline Help in the default installation, or add a checkbox.

Rationale:
The current instructions are of limited help, and lead to such questions as:
Example instructions:

I HEARD from other Japanese community member that previously at some
point,Writer showed the expected behavior and current master doesn't.(so, It's
a regression)

I just tested with current master behaving in the unexpected way.but I still
haven't tried bibisection to figure out from which version the unexpected
behavior started to occur.

I added you to CC list because I noticed you submitted a spin button related
patch https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/97217 (not MetricSpinButton
related, though) and I thought you have a good knowledge on this matter.
