Dear Paolo Benvenuto,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

height adjustment option in table properties.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.5.2 release

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

It will be very convenient if there will be an option like autofit to page in
table properties or at least table height adjustment option in LibreOffice

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134743] Table of Contents - "Tab position relative to paragraph style format" stops working

2020-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134743

Okay, I couldn't resist trying the one obvious property:

TabsRelativeToIndent

I changed that to True, then loaded the ODT. Now I had indenting again in the
TOC, but the first-level items were going past the margin.

So I changed one other property:

TabOverMargin

I changed that to False, and the document TOC now works correctly.

So it is (at least) a combination of those two. I'm not sure how the other ones
could affect it in different situations.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134743] Table of Contents - "Tab position relative to paragraph style format" stops working

2020-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134743

Thanks for looking at it. This evening I got out the Meld program, and
extracted the contents of both ODT's. There were a few differences, but nothing
that stood out to me.

So I started swapping over various elements. I tried the Styles.xml from the
working doc to the non-working doc. Zipped up, renamed to ODT, but it didn't
change. I tried it the other way around, didn't break the good one.

Next I tried the Contents.xml and went both ways with that. Again, same
results. Did not break the working doc, and did not fix the broken one.

Next I tried both Contents and Styles XML. Same results.

Finally I tried the Settings.xml and this made all the difference. If I take
the Settings.xml from the broken doc and put it in the good one, it breaks it.
If I take the Settings.xml from the good doc and put it in the broken one, it
fixes it.

There are some interesting differences between the two. Some of the differences
seem to come from the import of Word Docs, which I used to create the original
non-working ODT (whereas the working ODT was created by copy/paste of text from
the non-working ODT.

In the Properties for the non-working ODT, the Template (in the General tab)
shows as "Normal.dotm". In the working ODT, it shows my LibreOffice template
"PP Book Template".

More interesting, there were some "Custom Properties" defined in the
non-working ODT, which I guess were imported from the Microsoft Word files. I
deleted all these custom properties, but the TOC still does not format
correctly. And other than those Custom Properties, I can't see any other
differences in the Properties dialog itself.

Next I did a MELD on the two Settings.xml files (after running XML Tidy on them
first!). Here are the properties that are different, between the two docs. This
first set have different integer values. I'm not listing the values for these,
as I'm not sure they are relevant.

ViewAreaTop
ViewAreaLeft
ViewAreaWidth
ViewAreaHeight
ViewLeft
ViewTop
VisibleTop
VisibleRight
VisibleBottom

This next structure is only in the non-working doc:

ForbiddenCharacters
- Language: en
- Country: US
- Variant:
- BeginLine:
- EndLine:

These next properties are in both docs, but in the non-working one, they have
the following values (and in the working one, the opposite values):

FloattableNomargins: true
UnbreakableNumberings: true
AddVerticalFrameOffsets: true
BackgroundParaOverDrawings: true
DoNotJustifyLinesWithManualBreak: true
DoNotCaptureDrawObjsOnPage: true
EmbedSystemFonts: true
AddFrameOffsets: true
ConsiderTextWrapOnObjPos: true
TableRowKeep: true
TabsRelativeToIndent: false
IgnoreTabsAndBlanksForLineCalculation: true
InvertBorderSpacing: true
ClippedPictures: true
TabOverMargin: true
TreatSingleColumnBreakAsPageBreak: true
SurroundTextWrapSmall: true
ApplyParagraphMarkFormatToNumbering: true

There was also an "Rsid" property that had a different value between the two
docs, but this is just a long integer, so I don't think it will affect the
formatting of the TOC.

I'm pretty sure it is one of the boolean properties that is causing the
mess-up. I could now test each one to find out which it is (or it may be a
combination of more than one) but it would be nice if we could get someone
involved who has more knowledge about the Settings.XML file, who might be able
to hone in on just which of these is the culprit.

I believe that these properties got set from the import of Word DOC (or DOCX)
files, into the original (non-working) ODT. So it could potentially affect
other people's documents as well, and this import process needs to be looked
at, so a property is not carried over that breaks indenting in the Table of
Contents.

( In a PechaKucha presentation, each slide is shown only for 20 seconds, so in
order to rehearse, you must know how much time has been spent in the current
slide. Total time is less useful there, since it's fixed at 20 x 20 seconds.)

Reproduced.

the so-called black bar in Draw that should have covered the area where
confidential information is placed is horizontal, even when the page is set to
tb-rl. This resulted in the auto-redaction beding useless in tb-rl documents.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135249] New: If cell is formatted as time or duration, then allow inputs with parts greater than 59

2020-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135249

Bug ID: 135249
Summary: If cell is formatted as time or duration, then allow
inputs with parts greater than 59
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gabriel...@hotmail.com

In previous versions of Calc, if I inputted something like 0:65, it would
automatically convert that to 1:05. That was very useful.

This behaviour was changed, apparently according to this commit:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/81087

However I want to suggest that this is a useful behaviour. What I suggest is
that, if the Cell is formatted as duration or time, then this behavior shoud
apply. If the Cell is not formatted as time, then this behavior should not
apply.

That way, if I want to input 200 minutes, for instance, I can have the cell
automatically convert that to 3:20 (for example).

Yes, while the text is not overlapping the page number characters, it IS too
close to them. The TOCs of publshed books, in the great majority of cases, have
a clear minimum space between the text and the page numbers.

The obvious answer is to have an adjustable property on the Entries page which
forces lines to break if they reach a critical length.

For the record, Excel only has two scrollers, which normally scroll one
left/right, and have tooltips, but not for explaning normal use, they refer to
possible usage with modifier keys:
- Scroll to the first sheet
- Scroll to the last sheet

Google Sheets also has two scrollers, they scroll to the beginning/end, the
tooltips are:

- Scroll right

Bug ID: 135246
Summary: LibreOffice Calc does not apply conditional formatting
as expected
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: byrn...@harte-lyne.ca

Description:
Fields possessing both direct and conditional formating have the direct
formatting removed (neumeric / data / currency) and replaced with the default
format. However the correct combined format is shown in the conditional format
dialogue box.

This is noted to occur erratically. Some cells have the display format
reverted and others do not.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new sheet
2. Apply direct formatting to cell (date 2001-01-01)
3. Input new value in Cell
4. Apply negative warning conditional format to cell
5. Satisfy condition
6. Cell value changes from 2001-01-01 to 36892.00

Actual Results:
Cell displays 36892.00 in white on red background

Expected Results:
Cell should display 2001-01-01 in white on red background

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Not all conditionally formatted cells display this behaviour even when the same
conditions and conditional format applies.

Hi!

I don't have file to produce. It's really easy to reproduce.
When my settings are set to verdana 11px and blue for the color of the links.
Only the color is respected, font and font's size aren't.

If you are after constructive suggestions, I suggested a gutter on the left, as
many software get, with the line number and the option to put marks in it by
simple clicks, as well as to dismiss'em, for having a way to send from certain
blocks of writing to others, as well as chapters.

@M. Stahl
Not a major crasher based on the crash stats; between 80 +/-100 for the
releases with functional symbols for the crash reporter.

However for some reason - probably because of my habit of undoing a full doc
paste - I run into this quite often.. already at 8 examples..

And so would love to see this going away .. of course you have already a number
of bug on your plate..

Just adding a comment in the hope to bring this issue back into focus. I have
been contacted about many bugs (most of them resolved) but this one remains
significant.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134738] Table of Contents: Changes to Tabs (in Paragraph styles) do not show when TOC is updated

2020-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to R. Green from comment #7)
> Apologies. My last two comments were based on a misunderstanding.
>
> To create and edit TOC tabs you have to go to "Edit Index > Entries >
> Level." AFAIK, the Tabs in the Paragraph style are inactive "by design".

It would make no sense that tabs be inactive by design -- most ToCs in most
books need some line to link a chapter/section heading to its relevant page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 127036] [TABLE] Table properties reset if Document Properties "Only embed fonts that are used in documents" is set

2020-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127036

I can verify the bug, too.

And I really hope it would be fixed, soon.

Also I wonder why the bug classification is low. The loss of all table format
data is in the end a loss of data. (Which costs me several hours today and
yesterday.) I always assumed that bugs which cause a loss of data would have a
higher priority.

BTW, the "right margin" only affects text, not the tab fill characters.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135202] when using LO 6.4.6.1 to access MySQL database, I get an error message

2020-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135202

(In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #8)
> I would be inclined to set this as a DUP of bug 122560

I disagree. These two bugs involve two different error codes (2058 for bug
122560 and 1045 for this bug). It was not until LibreOffice 6.2.3.1 that I was
able to connect to a MySQL database using the native connector. However, I
could connect to it using JDBC and the J connector from MySQL. In fact, I could
gain access using either one of these connectors through 6.4.5.2. Now with
6.4.6.1, I can not access either one. (Since I run 6.3.6.2 in parallel, I still
have access to the MySQL server and the databases it contains.)

Zip file containing files showing a TOC issue

Locale: en-GB (en_GB); UI-Language: en-GB
Calc: threaded

One issue that does not appear to be solvable using the TOC "Edit Index"
dialogue is the problem of text overlapping the page number area on the right.
This can happens when the text entry is long and breaks onto a new line. The
problem is shown in the attached file "toc_text_overlap".

This is solved in published books by adding appropriate line breaks to long
entries, as shown by the attached file: "index_excerpt".

SUGGESTION: Provide a new property on the "Entries" page to allow the user to
set a minimum right margin between the end of the text lines and the page
numbers.
