Just FYI: the "extension selection" checkbox is a KDE feature, so we have to
ignore LO's own setting, or we would get two of them. That checkbox is placed
by KDE, so there is nothing we can do about the alignment, since we just get
the area below for our own layout.

Dear Tamás Zolnai,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111727] Slide background: Custom hatch angle is not saved to ODP

2020-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111727

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear peter josvai,

Please read this message in its entirety before proceeding.

Your bug report is being closed as INSUFFICIENTDATA due to inactivity and
a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately
reproduce and confirm the problem. We encourage you to retest
your bug against the latest release. If the issue is still
present in the latest stable release, we need the following
information (please ignore any that you've already provided):

a) Provide details of your system including your operating
system and the latest version of LibreOffice that you have
confirmed the bug to be present

b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better

c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem

d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help

e) Read all comments and provide any requested information

Once all of this is done, please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED
and we will attempt to reproduce the issue. Please do not:

a) respond via email

b) update the version field in the bug or any of the other details
on the top section of our bug tracker

I have no idea how if bi-directional books exist or not. I have not seen any.
but here is my opinion:

If a document is typed in RTL then pages which follow LTR rules should also be
numbered according to RTL and previewed as well. This will make it easier for
the RTL reader since the document is essentially written for RTL readers.

I recently upgraded from v6.2, and now when I open my previously-existing .rtf
files, tab characters do not display, and everything is aligned to the left
side of the page.

The default tab size in Options -> Writer -> General is unchanged from the
stock 0.49" value, and changing it has no effect.

If I manually change the per-document tab size in the style through the
sidebar, this works and the tab characters display as expected, but surely I
shouldn't have to set this for every single document I want to open?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135645] LO corrupts bitmaps and crashes in X11 with 16 bit color (TrueColor)

2020-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135645

OK, I have key information after hours of trying things. The problem only
exists if you are using the "generic" VCL (LibreOffice's built-in theme/UI)
with 16 bit color with LO > 6.3. Using the generic VCL occurs if you don't
install the gnome-integration package (which is an optional package), OR if you
use

 export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN="gen"

before launching LO to force the generic VCL. This is probably why I have not
seen any other reports of this issue- it is rare, but will bite certain users
(and my users fall in that category). You might ask "why not just use gtk3
VCL?" Well, we can, but it is MUCH slower running remotely/thin client with
scrolling, menus, and selecting text, and certain other operations. For
example, selecting text is at least 500% slower, and very noticeable/annoying,
even at 100Mb/s.

So, to replicate this problem:

1) Install/prep LibreOffice 6.4.0 or newer.
2) Change your Xserver to 16 bit TrueColor.
3) Launch LO with
   export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN="gen" ; $INSTALLPATH/program/soffice

-OR-

3) Remove the LO gnome-integration package and launch LO.

with small diplays the problem is ui with maximum decrease factor of 5 percent.

So work array needed of 30 cm x 30 cm to see whole 600 cm x 600 cm work space.

with export to pdf, a later increase with a pdf program is possible.

In acrobat reader a scale of % is possible.
So with A0 as basic format free pdf printer
a poster with 600 meter to 600 meter with thousands of sides is possible.

2020-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 135738
Summary: CONFIGURATION: Border option, in New Table Defaults,
works only with the Insert Table icon
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Description:
The Border option¹ is useless when:
a. choosing menu `Table` - `Insert Table…`; or
b. pressing `Ctrl+F12`; or
c. clicking `Insert Table` icon and choosing `More options…`.
With the three ways it opens the Insert Table dialog with "Default Style"
preselected (which has borders).

Clicking the `Insert Table` icon (Standard toolbar): When Border option is
checked, using the icon creates a table with borders; if Border is unchecked,
it creates a table without borders.

¹ Choosing menu Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - Table, below New Table
Defaults.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose menu `Tools` - `Options` - `LibreOffice Writer` - `Table`, below New
Table Defaults, and uncheck `Border`, `OK`.
2.a. Choose menu `Table` - `Insert Table…`; or
2.b. Press `Ctrl+F12`; or
2.c. Click `Insert Table` icon and choose `More options…`.
3. Press Enter.

Actual Results:
Creates a table (default size 2×2) with borders.

Description:
Hi, I am really out of my depth. I loaded OfficeLibre about a month ago; used
it to open xlsx and docx file. then did not use it and today needed to use
it... but I do not have a link (icon) on desktop to run OfficeLibre. I found
its subdirectory in the Windows Programs Subdirectory, but dont' know what file
to exectute or drag to desktop page..

I tried to find some way to send a help request to OfficeLibre but this is the
closest I could find to send anything to any one... so now I have Bugzilla
Account... yeah, useless to me, except to see if anyone can help me.

other option is to delete OfficeLibre and down load it again; actually I saw
that it is still in my Download directory if that would be of any help to me..

from Larry Meyer (out of his depth)

I will now see what I MUST complete below to send this... sorry about that...

If you drag a data label to a different place and save and reload the document,
then the data label looses the position. That too is the implication of the
missing element chart:data-label. This element has the attributes svg:x and
svg:y to store such position information.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 135515] Print preview always places pages in LTR order

Format->Page Style->Page tab->Text direction.

I am generally unsure how to do this best. A toggle button on print preview
toolbar? an option... Using default paragraph style direction? also an option,
but is guaranteed to create confusion. Follow page style text direction? also
seems sane, but then we should allow alternating page order direction inside
the document? which might be logical (? I don't know how bi-directional books
are created, if any) - like allowing alternating text direction in one
paragraph is OK...

People really knowledgeable in RTL should decide this, not Englih- (Russian-
(myself), German-) speaking people.

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #6)

You've made several points in your comment; but I'll begin by stressing that
this bug is not a duplicate of 95861. That bug regards HTML5 and CSS3, like you
yourself said; but this bug has nothing in particular to do with CSS3. While
it's quite possible that the HTML I attached has some CSS3-specific selectors
or attributes - most of the issues listed here have nothing to do with that.
The appearance of the document may involve mis-handling or non-handling of
CSS3, but I'm not even sure that's the case; and again - it's 2 out of 10
issues.

It's important, IMHO, not to "kill" this bug as a dupe exactly because it
showcases many issues at once.

Oh, also - IIANM, the HTML itself in the attached document is plain-vanilla.
Nothing beyond HTML 4.0 and probably earlier.

> Work on the Writer Web module ended at HTML 4.0 Transitional--while not
> officially deprecated the feature is essentially abandoned.

I'm not sure I see why this is relevant. Bugs are bugs. If the feature was
experimental, or unavailable by default etc. then it might be argued that bugs
should not be reported and addressed. I understand that nobody is springing
into action to fix this, and that is ok (well, maybe).

> Import and Export (save to HTML) works reasonably well for inline CSS2 HTML
> 4.0 markup--that is it.

First note that this issue is not merely about the importation and the
exportation but also about what LO does with what's been imported.

Having said that - import and export doesn't work reasonably well in some
cases. There are significant issues - as I have demonstrated. That is another
reason why it is inappropriate to close this bug.

> The default import filter mode for opening a .HTML document with LibreOffice
> is into the Writer Web module, into its 'Web' (un-paged view). I can not
> confirm reported issue of import opening to Writer Web 'Normal' (i.e. page
> view).

I'll try to get others to confirm.

>
> Clear you user profile to defaults to resolve.

I've never cleaned my LO user profile before. I'll try it and report the
result.

> The CSS of the js based HTML5/CSS3 web page linked is simply not renderable,

The web page is not "JS-based"; and it is quite renderable. In fact, its script
elements are mostly empty. The URIs are actually not in src= attribtes but in
data-savepage-src attributes. And if you delete the script tags, you still get
basically the same rendering in a browser and the same mis-rendering in
LibreOffice.

> and excess content/meta is filter import captured as comments.

... which is a bug, or several bugs, as I've described.

> Point is this is as good as it gets

With respect - that is unacceptable. That is, you are of course under no
personal obligation to fix things, but LO's current handling of HTML documents
is not nearly what it should be, and there is no reason to lower users'
expectations to the current state of the implementation.

>, and we have bug 95861 open to consider
> work to make the Writer Web module HTML5 and CSS3 aware if not functional.

It's possible that work on that may help some of the issues here, but probably
at most the two issues which may be the cause of lack of CSS3 support. Possibly
not even those.

> With some devs opining it would be better to drop the Writer Web module
> completely and only filter import to Writer, and export to styled XHTML.

Only 2 of the issues I've reported regard saving the edited file. And they too
are valid issues, I believe, while writing HTML files is supported. Also, are
you certain that saving this document to XHTML would yield reasonable output? I
am somewhat doubtful.

What exactly is the page style text direction? Left/Right on the printer layout
affects only the page number. Was thinking about the Default Paragraph Style
but this shouldn't be used- and you cannot be sure whether Text Body is the
actual used default.

> 2. There be some UI for toggling the page order (between LTR and RTL).

The PS has an option under Alignment but this doesn't affects the print preview
neither the multiple-page view. Point is still what we take.

2. "Keep with next paragraph" CHECKED: whole table moved to the next page
3. After simulating number 1 option a while until the table splitted across
page, then I CHECKED "Keep with next paragraph" option and delete empty space
above the table: The table moved back row by row. After that I add empty space
again by pressing Enter above the table whole table moved to the next page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134607] LO7RC1 - LANGPACK macOS - many versions fail to recognize LibreOffice7 installation as valid on Catalina

2020-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134607

LibO 7.0.1.1 is back to the old behaviour:
* The language pack installation cannot find the LibO app
* if manually selected, it complains about an invalid LibO file

Apparently, someone put the (not working) check back in to the Mac language
packs.

Until this bug is fixed, can someone please re-deploy the Mac language packs
w/o this check (same as done for 7.0.0.3).

As explained in comment 4, it's the limitation of number representation in Calc
(but note that Calc uses IEEE 754 64-bit floating point number, which means
that integer range in Calc is limited to 53 bit, with upper limit of 9.01E+015,
not 64 bit - so even farther from the needed range than mentioned 2^64).

Since this is technology limitation, this is not a bug.
