[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136131] New: FORMCONTROLS: Numerical & Formatted Field Form Controls Value Limits Don't Save User Inputs & Returns To Default +/- 1000000

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 136131
Summary: FORMCONTROLS: Numerical & Formatted Field Form
Controls Value Limits Don't Save User Inputs & Returns
To Default +/- 100
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sims@osu.edu

Description:
Modifications to upper and lower bounds for a numerical or formatted field form
control don't save after leaving "Control Properties".

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert numerical field value form control. (Also applies to formatted field
form controls).
2. Open properties and change "Value min" or "Value max".
3. Deselect control.
4. Reselect control.
5. Open "Control Properties".
6. Observe that "Value min" and "Value max" have reverted to default +/-
100. (Formatted field controls revert to null "Value min" and "Value max".)

Actual Results:
Numerical field controls revert to -100 for "Value min" and 100 for
"Value max". Formatted field controls revert back to null for "Value min" and
"Value max".

Expected Results:
"Value min" and "Value max" should save the user inputted number when the user
modifies it. The user input should still be present when the "Control
Properties" are opened later.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88002] EDITING: Sorting ignores end column with formatting only

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88002

there are some 'targets' for calc, performance, usability, 'understandability',
'standard', respect the manual?, and often mentioned compatibility - to ex$el,

(compatibility to prior versions is also important, but would block any changes
except additions)

at least ex$el compatibility is missed with the current behaviour,

ex$el 2010 treats empty cells - with formatting! - selected either by selection
or by 'all' as part of the range to work on and re-arranges them together with
the others, keeping 'row-integrity', 'column integrity' (when sorting left to
right), or 'dataset integrity',

i had no chance to check if cells without any attributes are reordered, but
there is no big difference if they are sorted or not,

Dear Rogerio Luz Coelho,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57574] PRINTING: symmetric margins produce asymmetric result

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57574

Dear csongor,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Bug ID: 136129
Summary: Shortcut for Show Formula (Ctrl+`) not available in
LibreOffice Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: felipeviggi...@gmail.com

Description:
The shortcut for the Show Formula option in LibreOffice Calc is not available.
Although the menu option View > Show Formula refers to this shortcut, it
appears to be not implemented (there is no reference to it in the Keyboard tab
from the Customize dialog).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new spreadsheet in LibreOffice Calc.
2.Insert a a formula in the input line (for example =sum(2,2)).
3.Press Ctrl+` (grave accent).

Actual Results:
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
The cell should show the formula (=sum(2,2)) instead of the result (4).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136121] some fonts do not render digits which used to in older version

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I definitely think the problem should be addressed, but to achieve that we must
first find out what the problem is.

If we eliminate the factor of Noto Kufi Arabic font (which you probably agree
is irrelevant here), your problem becomes a very vague "I used to see digits in
some unspecified old LO version, now in 6.4.6 the digits aren't displayed".
And without more information, few people can help, unless he/she also stumbles
into such a problem. All I was doing was trying to find an environment that
can reproduce the problem while eliminating irrelevant factors.

I believe in general LO uses the "Western" font to display the digit
characters. And if one chooses some font without digit glyphs as the Western
font, there will be fallback font used. Your report didn't specify how the
font was set up in your system and LO.

It would help if you can install an older version of LO on your system using
parallel installation (for Linux, see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux), and then
confirm the problem is due to difference between LO versions, not some other
changes in your system. Then it is probably also necessary to describe the
various fonts installed in your system (I assume most Linux still uses
fontconfig? So output of fc-list, fc-cache, etc.). If the problem doesn't
happen to a fresh install and newly created document, an example file and the
information about your LO configuration is also needed.

I don't use Linux anymore, so I don't even fully know which questions to ask.
I'll leave that to others. Meanwhile, as the bug reporter, the more
information you can provide, the easier it is for other people to reproduce
your problem and solve it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136126] New: FILESAVE Bad linking of file data between instances during autosaves

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136126

Bug ID: 136126
Summary: FILESAVE Bad linking of file data between instances
during autosaves
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: psiebo...@gmail.com

Using simultaneous instances of LibreOffice, the auto-save feature runs the
risk of transferring and linking data from one instance to the other, which
results in a lot of errors. This is fixed by simply pressing CTRL+Z on both
instances on the sheets affected.

The biggest cause of this appears to be when the auto-saving takes several
seconds because the files are large (several MB each) and there seems to be an
interpretation that as it initiates the auto-save that I am selecting the
entire sheet to be dragged somewhere. This can result in no problems if the
mouse pointer does not leave the window. However, especially when the
auto-save appears unexpected and you going between instance windows.

Due to the sizes of the files (30 MB each) in which I experience this,
including an attachment is perhaps not advised. It would perhaps be easier to
use auto-fill to create some large files that will be cumbersome enough to
recreate the effect.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136106] FILEOPEN DOCX Table formula with localized decimal separator does not work

(In reply to Mike Kaganski from comment #1)
> Does this mean that it should take "/w:settings/w:decimalSymbol" from
> word/settings.xml into account maybe?

I don't have the latest build of LO installed on the machine I am currently
using, so I have not attempted to open the attachment. I will say that in my
patch I made it read the decimalSymbol from the settings file, so that is
available. However, at the time (and still today) I wasn't sure how to get the
decimal symbol of the user's current locale, so I did not attempt to convert
that symbol if a user in one locale opens a document created in another locale.
I wrote this in the commit notes for the patch. I'm happy to circle back around
to that eventually, if nobody else gets to it sooner. I've just been a bit busy
at work lately.

Bug ID: 136125
   Summary: Sidebar: use
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kain...@gmail.com

Created attachment 164685
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=164685=edit
Line Dialog vs Sidebar

In the sidebar there were used GtkMenuToolButton's for
- LineStyle
- LineColor

which work nice in an toolbar where there is less space, but at the sidebar I
recommend to use the widget like in the dialog window.

The benefit of use the widgets from the dialog windows are:
- Line: it will show an preview AND the name of the line style within the
sidebar. so if you select an line you see instantly the name of the line style

- Color: same for color with the GtkMenuToolButton you see an preview but not
the name so if you want to use the same color somewhere else it's very
complicated to find the correct one

So I think for the toolbar GtkMenuToolButtons are the correct widgets but for
the sidebar they are just an step backward.

I confirm that LO-Calc 5.2.7.2 has the OP's mentioned behaviour.

I also use colour-coded cells for missing data, but I avoid extending tables on
the right into empty columns for keyboarding ergonomics. I tried this anyway in
Excel today (version 1808 - Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus) and I grudgingly
acknowledge that Excel sorts empty columns with background colour on the right
side of a table when they are included in the sort range. Excel even offers a
sort option to sort by background colour.

So the behaviour desired by the OP is that of Excel. For the sake of
compatibility, I am setting this to NEW.

The change will affect only users who create sort ranges with empty cells on
the right side. The rest of us won't even notice the difference.

Maybe there's an easy way to implement this in v7!

I saw in the LO 7 release notes[1] that there's now support for transparent
text in Writer and other components.

Can that code be reused to apply a transparent rectangle over the current row
and column, as illustrated at
https://superuser.com/questions/899479/how-to-highlight-whole-row-and-column-under-cursor-in-openoffice-calc?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136121] some fonts do not render digits which used to in older version

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136121

Perhaps what you're saying is correct. However older versions of LibreOffice
used to show the digits anyway, which means it might fallback to another font
or something? Right now what happens is what I described. We can close this
ticket if you think this behavior should _not_ be addressed. But I suppose a
fallback font or something to that effect might be a better approach?

The anchor position does shift a bit after reloading.

-> For me it's off page. Need to move the image (click the image press arrow
up/down) to get it on page.

When dragging the image the anchor shows up at the top of the page (or more
precise at the start of a paragraph; not necessary on top). On release it grabs
a character.. (if you move enough away from the initial position (at minimum to
the start of a new paragraph)

Original spreadsheet, original export, modified export

I put a note for comment the content of a cell in a spreadsheet.
I have exported the spreadsheet in xhtml format to prevent involuntary change
and the result is … awfull.
First, (trivial) the tag in section show the value "- no title
specified" while the filename (whithout extension) was expected.
Second, the purpose of my message, my comment-note in cell D4 is displayed in
an awfull format. I rewrote the sourcefile of my document to show a solution to
this problem.
I join 3 documents :
- the spreadsheet : Exemple.ods ;
- the original xhtml file : Exemple.xhtml ;
- the modified xhtml document : Exemple - Modif.xhtml.
I suggest :
1 - insert the name of the spreadsheet in the  tag of exported file ;
2 - add style design (lines 74 to 82 of Exemple - Modif.xhtml) and modify note
treatment (line 177 of the same file) to display correctly the comment notes in
Calc Export.
Thanks to your attention.
Excuse my poor english, I'm french !

A single MM format code is month of year, not minutes, and displays the
underlying cell value accordingly. This is not a bug and will not be changed.
There is no time type or date type cell. A date or time or date+time is just a
floating point number, days since null date, where 0.5 is 12 hours, the time
00:19 with 0 days since null date formatted as date happens to be 1899-12-31 so
the result for MM is 12.

You can use the format code [MM] to format a duration in minutes only.

unfortunately the result is the same...

Here's what fontconfig tells me about these fonts:

Lignes_carreaux_1cm.ttf: "Lignes_carreaux_1cm" "Lignes_carreaux_1cm"
Lignes_carreaux_5x5.ttf: "Lignes_carreaux_5x5" "Lignes_carreaux_5x5"
Lignes_carreaux_points.ttf: "Lignes_carreaux_points" "Lignes_carreaux_points"

Lignes_dble_3mm.ttf: "Lignes_double_3mm" "Lignes_double_3mm"
Lignes_dble_4mm.ttf: "Lignes_double_4mm" "Lignes_double_4mm"
Lignes_mat_2mm.ttf: "Lignes_maternelle_2mm" "Lignes_maternelle_2mm"
Lignes_mat_3mm.ttf: "Lignes_maternelle_3mm" "Lignes_maternelle_3mm"
Lignes_secail_2-5.ttf: "Lignes_secail_2-5" "Lignes_secail_2-5"
Lignes_secail_sans_2-5.ttf: "Lignes_secail_sans_2-5" "Lignes_secail_sans_2-5"

But I agree, that in real life the combination of drop caps and superscript
character will hardly be used.

Yes, only in simplest cases there are cell borders that alone fully define some
resulting border. Normally, each border of merged cell is originally
represented by borders of several cells; e.g. 2x2. Each such cell may have own
border ... so either we create complex rules that would definitely result in
surprises for many, and anyway will cause reports because of "wrong" behaviour,
or we keep it simple: just use the formatting of the first cell.

IMO - WONTFIX. Just because any strategy here is no better, but this one has
advantage of being simple, both in implementation, and in understanding.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 136121] New: some fonts do not render digits which used to in older version

2020-08-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136121

Bug ID: 136121
Summary: some fonts do not render digits which used to in older
version
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ta...@pythys.com

Description:
In libreoffice 6.4.6.2 writer I cannot see the "digits" of certain fonts. For
example you can download and install the noto kufi font [1] and observe that
although you can type text, digits would show up as blank white spaces

In earlier versions of libreoffice, this was not a bug, so it is relatively
new.

[1]
https://noto-website-2.storage.googleapis.com/pkgs/NotoKufiArabic-hinted.zip

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install libreoffice libreoffice 6.4.6.2
2. download noto kufi font and place in /usr/share/fonts <-
https://noto-website-2.storage.googleapis.com/pkgs/NotoKufiArabic-hinted.zip
3. run writer, select noto kufi font, and observe how numbers are blank

Actual Results:
typing digits renders white spaces or invisible text

Expected Results:
typing digits renders them normally

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

I think it's because merged cell has the format from first up-left cell from

1) Could you give a try at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps ?

2) Do you reproduce this if you do:
- launch terminal/console
- export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen && soffice --writer
- open a docx
?

3) If you still reproduce this, would it be possible you attach a backtrace?
